Amazing experience! Even better than amazing food! And Steve is SO awesome! We impressed all our guests with his stylish stone fire cooked, outdoor pizza experience! He brought all sorts of goodies, including the most gorgeous salad I've ever seen! He was personable and charming and everyone feel special and well cared for as he catered to each of their needs. We couldn't have asked for abbey yet experience!

The staff that worked our event were very courteous and helpful. We had the opportunity to speak to the chef at our event. He was so engaging and gave us a little of his background. He worked/studied at one of the most prestigious hotels in Denver. You could tell because it showed not only in the presentation of his food, but in the taste as well. The food tastes delicious but coordinating with their team was very stressful and unnecessarily so. Jade, their lead coordinator was extremely responsive, calling us every few days to check in with us when we're deciding on a catering company. As soon as we made our deposit she became impossible to reach and non responsive. I couldn't get confirmation of allergies and menus ingredients until less than a week before the wedding, making it a rush to print and have menus ready for the day of even though we had chosen a menu weeks before. My wedding planner and I had been reaching out for weeks previously to get an updated contract with updated head count from Jade but we didn't receive and updated contract until just days before the wedding day after finally getting a hold of Michelle their lead ops. On the day of. We booked Navi to help with table and chair set up and take down. I don't know if they helped set up as I was getting ready, but the left early and didn't take down tables or chairs, so I don't know know what we paid for. We asked for our salads to be pre-plated. They ran out of salads and 5 of our guests had to wait a very long time for food and didn't get any greens in their salad. We also booked bartending services. They promised they would work with us to come up with signature drinks, but no one ever reached out to us to workshop a drink. Instead had to send them a cocktail recipe and on the day of we realized they don't have any knowledgeable bartenders. We could have premixed the drinks ourselves and had them poured from a dispenser as that what we paid their bartender rate of $45/hr for. Navi said they were familiar working with Cort rentals. It's the company they said that they typically rent plates and silverware from but as part of their responsibilities they didn't sort or scrape the food off the silverware when it's a clearly labeled ask from Cort rentals right in the box you return them in. We were also told they they would pack left overs for us but none of our guests or us had received any left overs even though there were plenty. I was really disappointed in their professionalism. Food was delicious but coordination made working with them a major headache as a bride. If you do book with them. Do you best to work with Michelle or directly with chef Navi because if you don't have either of their eyes on things you might as well be coordinating with yourself.

We ordered an abundant spread, and every dish impressed. The clear crowd favorite was the Singapore black pepper prawns - fragrant, perfectly spiced, and completely addictive. That black pepper sauce was hands down the star of the meal: rich, peppery, and deeply flavorful. It was my favorite and could easily be eaten on everything. The Mala curry crab and XO crab were both outstanding; layered with complex, indulgent flavors. The Thai green chili clams and saus mentega clams were vibrant and comforting, while the crab fried rice had generous morsels of crab folded throughout the dish. We also really enjoyed the Indonesian chicken wings, which were crispy and flavorful, and the stir-fried vegetables, which added a fresh, well-balanced contrast to the seafood-heavy menu. Everything traveled well, was thoughtfully prepared, and made for an unforgettable catered meal. If you're considering catering from Marimakan Crabhouse, I can't recommend it highly enough. Get the black pepper sauce! Amazing from start to finish, and Chef V or Rachel is lovely to work with.

We had our annual event on October 8th at the Edmonds Waterfront Center with Shooby Doo catering as…read morethe food vendor. The Waterfront Center has them as an exclusive contract so we had no choice but to use this caterer. We signed up with them back in 2020 believing that we would have an in-person event in 2021 but the Delta virus made us have to do a virtual event. Shooby-doo refused to refund our significant down-payment, so we were stuck with them for a future opportunity. Which we utilized them, as I said, on October 8th 2022. The tasting that we did those years ago was absolutely wonderful. The food was quite delicious. And that team worked with us to make sure that we would have a really good selection of food items to meet all pallets, allergies, and so forth. Thus, the food is quite expensive. The major issue that we had with this company is that we are a non-profit organization and have to abide by state guidelines in regard to serving alcohol. It was almost impossible to work with Scooby-Doo on this issue because they had really bad information that they kept telling us was accurate. It was not good. It took weeks on end to finally get them to deal with the state directly and understand that we were correct and we would not do anything that would potentially jeopardize our nonprofit status. In the end it was resolved well but the frustration that we were put through is still something that has a scab on the wound. One expects for someone who is providing a service that particularly has to meet state guidelines would know what they are doing and what they are talking about. And not asking us to work in a gray area. And that's what we were told over and over again. "Just work in the gray area", but like I said it was finally resolved. One other minor thing that was aggravating but we dealt with quickly was them wanting us to get more alcohol than we needed. We got what we knew we needed and still had a few bottles left over. And the only other minor aggravation was they didn't know their full contract the evening of when everything was said and done. They thought we were supposed to be out of the building at 10:00 p.m. but we were actually scheduled to be out by midnight. Again it got resolved but it was something else to add to a more stressful moment in time. Now on to the good stuff: The night of the event was extraordinary. Their employees had everything set up in advance as it was supposed to be and the venue looked amazing. They were so friendly, accommodating, and easy to work with. They literally catered to our every need asking questions along the way to make sure that we were satisfied before our guests even arrived. The staff members were amazing. The food was out of the ballpark extraordinary. People absolutely loved the food. We had a double-sided buffet in order to make things would go smooth and quickly. I'm glad we opted for that rather than having them serve the dishes. It worked well. I'm absolutely sure that we would never use Shooby Doo again for our agency events, because of the massive issues we had with them in the beginning. However, I do think they would be good for things that are not related to being a non-profit: Like weddings, birthdays, small corporation celebrations, and such. If you're considering Shooby Doo to cater your nonprofit organization, be careful, be warned, and make sure you check everything, especially the legality around alcohol service. Also, know and monitor the contract so that you know exactly what's in it. While the service was excellent the night of, and the food was extraordinary, the price tag on this event was far more than we anticipated. We recognize that food costs are up and inflation is a nightmare but this is a very expensive catering service. Scooby-Doo gets a five star on the food quality and the evening of service. They get a one star on the knowledge on working with nonprofits, or at least with our non-profit. They get a negative 5 for not allowing us to get our down-payment back when the Delta virus came and shut everything down for everyone. I feel they should have offered it back with perhaps a small penalty but they did not so we were forced to have to use them a couple years later. I thought that was absolutely ridiculous. I told them that I would give an honest review. And this review is that.

Despite hearing positive feedback about them, we were disappointed with both the service and the pricing. While the food itself was satisfactory, the service fell short of our expectations. The staff, particularly the head staff member, displayed below-average professionalism and a snarky attitude. Additionally, the setup did not align with what was agreed upon and promised beforehand. Despite planning for 90 guests, the seating arrangements only accommodated 64, causing inconvenience and dissatisfaction among attendees. During the event, the catering staff were conspicuously absent, leaving us to pick up the slack and handle tasks that should have been their responsibility. Adding to our frustration was the unexpected 23% additional fee, which the catering company failed to justify adequately. When questioned about this fee, we were met with vague explanations about covering costs, which left us feeling misled because they also leave room for minimum of 16% tip that must be paid BEFORE experiencing their service. You do the math. Overall, while the venue itself was stunning, the experience with Shooby Doo catering staff left a lot to be desired. The combination of subpar service, unexplained fees, and high pricing makes it difficult to recommend their services to others. You still have to use them if you have an event at the Waterfront. Don't get the chocolate cookies, or the deviled eggs on toast. If you go for the fruit plate, this cost us $1,710 plus tax. ($19 a person). The empanadas were yummy, the beef sliders were finished, and people complimented the salmon in puff pastry.

The following review was of my experiences with Jon and Mary and their excellent catering services at my wedding reception, July 2010. "This is a review of Caspers on-site catering service provided by Jon N. and his wife. A little background info: Jon and his wife catered my wedding reception. We had a full menu of whole smoked chicken, bbq pork ribs, cornbread muffins, baked beans, hush puppies and a cucumber salad for a little over 100 people. The reception was located on private land, was held 100% outdoors. I have a severe reaction to MSG (monosodium glutamate), a spice found in many meat rubs and spice packs. I discussed this with the chef at Casper's before our tasting, to take place at the restaurant, and he assured me that he would prepare a special spice set just for our event to be sure it didn't contain MSG. The tasting went well and we decided to have them cater our event. The price was very reasonable at about $12.50/plate, left-overs are yours to keep, and they even prepared a kids menu of hot dogs and mac'n cheese, brought a 30 gallon cooler of ice, AND provided paper plates and utensils for serving at no extra charge. Now, up to this point I was giving them a solid 4 stars. Why 4? Because I was having a little trouble communicating with Jon via email at the beginning, a minor issue. But as you can see, they get 5 stars from me, here's why. On the weekend of our wedding there was a festival going on in a neighboring town and the ferry traffic was very heavy. This made our event run a little off schedule. Jon was not phased by this minor setback. He went well above the call of duty to accommodate our late guests and made everyone feel at home in his outdoor kitchen. They even prepared a couple surprise appetizers that weren't on the menu just for us to munch on. The food: Out of over 100 people, I got nothing but rave reviews from my guests. It was spectacular. The hushpuppies were a crowd favorite, crispy on the outside, a nice cornbread texture on the inside, and just the slightest pepper kick. A choice appetizer. The chicken was juicy and fall-off-the-bone tender. The ribs melted in your mouth and the rub was not too overpowering, bbq sauce served on the side (as it should be). The kids loved the mac'n cheese. After all my guests were relaxing in the sun and well fed, they quietly packaged up all the leftover food for us to keep, hooked up the trailer, and headed home. The next day, clean-up day, the rest of the food was gone after lunch. 5 stars: *Food, it was simply amazing, and at that price I could not have asked for more. *Flexibility, both in menu preparation (no msg) and with time. *Friendliness; they are the greatest people, very accommodating in every way. If you need something, just ask, they're there to help. And all my guests felt very welcome. *Self sufficient; all they needed from us was a 110v outlet to plug in the deep frier. (which they could have done without had they brought their generator). Working with them was worry-free. Just tell them where to setup and they do the rest. In the end, I was very pleased to say the least. I would recommend this service to anyone planning an outdoor wedding/reception. Any hiccups in the plans were like water off a ducks back for them. Just good people and great food, what else can I say? 5 stars, no question about that."

We just got married on Monday, and Jon and Mary catered for us. I couldn't wait any longer to write…read morea review, it was so unbelievably wonderful. I wish I had the words to describe how incredible these people are. They are beyond words. They're lovely, they're friendly, they're reliable and hardworking, and their food is some of the tastiest I've ever had. Period. Not just for weddings. Jon and Mary's food actually shaped most of our wedding... we'd always had a joke that all we needed for a successful celebration of our union would be hand dipped corn dogs and pulled pork sandwiches. In our tasting with Jon and Mary, I off-handedly mentioned it, knowing they could make pulled pork happen like nobody's business, but never expecting anything to come of the corndogs. Jon looked at Mary, then at me, and said, "Well, we can make that happen." He worked on his recipe for the next 9 months and made the most delicious skewers of small sausages covered in fluffy and crispy hushpuppy batter. (My maid of honor shoved one in my face immediately following the ceremony, and thank goodness because they were delicious and I hardly had any time to eat after that). That pretty much sealed the deal for us, and over the rest of the year, we only became more fond of Jon and Mary, as they responded to all of our requests, gave us updates on improved recipes, sent us photos of other events they were working on, connected me with another bride... the list goes on. One of the other things we liked about them was that it didn't feel like hiring "caterers," it felt like family members were cooking all the food, and it was so important to us to have a laid-back and comfortable wedding. The day-of came, and when I stepped out of the car, I smelled the most delicious smoke and barbeque and knew everything would be perfect. They smiled huge (I might have even seen them get a little misty, but it could have just been me), and were such an integral part of the night. They made sure my mom got extra fried green tomatoes, helped my grandmother find a plate when we'd run out so she could have her slice of pie, were friendly to my guests, waved us off at the end of the night... and we received nothing but rave reviews, from my usually disgruntled cousin's "This is the kind of food people SHOULD have at weddings," to "This is the most juicy and delicious chicken" to "This is hands down the best food I've ever had at a wedding." And knowing we were in good hands there allowed us to branch out and figure out the other pieces we wanted: a bluegrass band, a country feel, mason jars, etc. They went the extra mile. There was never a question they didn't want to answer, never a time they were too busy to chat or meet with me, no request that was ridiculous, and not one bit of dry meat on those chicken thighs. It was out of control good, and they are out of control good people, whose love and care show through in their food and amazing attitudes. Thank you for the best wedding we ever could have asked for - we can't wait to be married for a while so we can hire you for an anniversary! Love, J & J
