Food looked BOMB! However, I was told to wait ten minutes to put my order in, so I ended up standing in line to keep my spot for over 25 minutes and the lady running the operation let two other women cut right in front of me and order first when I had been waiting politely. I was really really excited to try her chopped cheese but she ignored me and was super nice to everybody else. I ended up having to leave with no food after standing there for nearly half an hour. I even asked once more if i could possibly order but i didnt want to be annoying or rude...she was quite busy but instead of writing down my order and getting to sit with my dad while i waited, i stood in line by myself and we never got food. Not bad, pretty pricy. Beef empanada was good and affordable, but chicken and shrimp plate was kinda insane at almost $30 for fried chicken and shrimp. Tasted pretty good with the various sauces, but nothing spectacular. Could come back for the smaller snacks, but the plate isn't worth it. My husband is from Guam so we were super excited to put an order in for pickup. Ghost kitchen where you order, they update you on order via text, and bring the order out to you. Portions are huge and definitely shareable. Short rib plate was super tasty, comes with red rice, plantains and salad. Red rice was a little less red than the ones we are use to from Guam but flavorful. Beef empanadas were great and loved the green sauce with it! We also ordered the fish patty and it was interesting, wasn't sure if I liked it at first but kept eating more... Again bigger in size than expected and shareable. I visited ChammoRican twice when they were in Capitol Hill. The couple running ChammoRican is super sweet. I tried the Chicken and Shrimp plate and the Pulled Pork plate the first time, and the chicken blew me away! Chammorican is a Puerto Rican and Pacific Islander fusion spot that also does therapeutic cooking. They do therapeutic cooking from Monday to Thursday at their Bothell kitchen, and pop-ups on weekends Friday-Saturday at various locations, such as Capitol Hill. During the week, they focus on therapeutic cooking, as well as various catering events to fit your needs. During my visit, I got to visit their pop-up outside Poquitos in Capitol Hill on a Saturday night. It was AMAZING! I ordered the short rib plate, shrimp and chicken plate and the empanada. The short rib plate was stacked and came with rice, sausage potato mix and kalbi. The kalbi was marinated so well - Chef Zuse mentioned they use mandarin oranges as well as other fresh ingredients. You can really taste the citrus and it reminded us of the kalbi you could get in Hawaii! As for the shrimp and chicken plate, it was so delicious! I loved how all the flavors blended together and how saucy it was. The food tasted so fresh and the shrimp was not over cooked at all! Last, I got the empanada, which was chef's kiss. The best empanada I have ever had - the wrap was so crispy and the inside was juicy and flavorful. Honestly, this spot would be my ultimate grub food when I'm out late in Capitol Hill. As for the service, Chef Zuse and his wife Heather are super friendly and are always happy to answer questions about the food. They put their heart and soul into what they do and it really shows in their food. I would highly recommend asking them about their story as well as how their business came alive. I checked out Chef Zuse's Chammorican pop-up kitchen in Bothell and wow the food was absolutely bomb. I haven't had Chamorro food before but the fusion is delicious. All the food is made fresh and you get a great portion for the price too, definitely going to try it again. I got the Camarones y Pollo (shrimp, chicken, sausage), Costilla plate (beef short rib), the empanadas, and some flan (ube coconut!). Everything was delicious, from the meats charred perfectly, to the maduros (plantains), hearty empanadas and the yummy flan. They are generous with the sauce-age and they're all really good but I especially enjoyed the lemon soy sauce and his spin on gochujang. Chef Zuse and Heather are really accommodating and friendly too. Definitely an awesome meal and I hope he stays around! FYI - if you are looking to get food during a Bothell pop-up you'll need to call in advance to make and order and you'll get the address after. read more

There is so much heart and soul in the food. The aromatics reels you in and the flavors will have you hooked. The pernil is special. It was juicy and flavorful, complex yet well balanced. It was paired with red rice made and that made my heart smile. I'm from Guam, so I miss plates of food with red rice. Chef Zues and Heather are a great duo that produce such amazing fare. I can't wait to try more of what they have cooking up in the kitchen. What a treat to be able to pick up some late night eats on the Eastside.
