My bf's best friend's bf introduced us to this place and it's seriously a fantastic establishment! I love the colorful interior inside, the art on the walls, especially of Frida, are really cool. They mainly have cute beverages, snacks, desserts and ice cream! It's actually one of the BEST here in Everett! We had the chicharron snack and this light dessert of churros with strawberries and whipped cream and it was so nice that it wasn't overly sweet! The esquites with tortilla chips is sooooo delicious! The mangonada is famous here. The agua frescas are something to try! Not overly sweet either and it really tastes like the real stuff, no sugar added -- I tried the watermelon and LOVED it, like real watermelon! My bf loved his pistachio ice cream and raves about it being the BEST pistachio ice cream! They really fill the cone up and it's only $5! Love everything about this place! It's small but peaceful, the perfect spot to sit down, enjoy your food, and actually have a conversation. The service is great, fast, attentive, and very welcoming. What a unique spot! My first time really going to a Mexican dessert spot and I'm so happy that I did. It was a fun experience with lots of different types of desserts. You can't get elsewhere. Been here twice. Do not judge the area or the people who hangout in this parking lot for the quality of this place. The inside is gorgeous and colorful. They have a mural on the wall. They sell handmade dolls as well. They had everything the first time I went, and I got the esquites, the horchata, and then mango on a stick (my boyfriend didn't want it on a stick he wanted it in a cup). It took me a awhile to work up the nerve to visit Las Fridas. The shop sits in a strip mall with a busy parking lot and a notoriously transient vibe. But eventually I couldn't say "no" to the pull of Mexican street food-inspired snacks and desserts. The first thing I ordered was the Dulce Conchita, a beautifully purple-hued pan dulce filled with Nutella, strawberries, and whipped cream. This combination is dynamite! This will forever be my go-to sweet at this shop. I also ordered a mango on a stick. They put it in a styrofoam container to make it easier to carry if you take it to-go. The mango wasn't quite ripe but that didn't stop me from eating all of it. I really missed these and they're not easy to find (cries in Californian). I look forward to the season for them so that I can get a fully ripe one. On a subsequent visit, my husband got the novel pepihuate: a cucumber halved, seeded, and filled with peanuts, chamoy, lime sorbet, and Tajín. I know he liked it because he offered one bite and then it disappeared. On that visit I tried the chilaquiles (which were in a cup and a snack item, not a breakfast item). Next time I will try one of their fruit bowls topped with whipped cream and chocolate sauce, or a mangonada. I noted that they have various savory snacks as well. The people in the store are always nice and friendly, and I haven't had a problem with parking in the parking lot or the many characters that hang out around this area downtown. If you're concerned about parking in the lot, there is plenty of street parking along Colby. And if you'd like to stay home, you can order via app. But please order. We came here on a Saturday evening for ice cream. The wait for getting our order was long. It probably took us 20 minutes to just get ice cream and a mangonada. I did not anticipate the long wait. Perhaps they are short staffed but dang, long time just for a snack. The ice cream was from cascade glacier I think. It was average ice cream. Their selection of ice cream had all the classic ice cream flavors. There was nothing exciting or Mexican inspired. The mangonada was fine. I like mangos and I like tamarind. There was a lot of chamoy which was hard to finish at the end. It was a bit pricey for what it was. The decor was nice and fun. The people working there were nice. Would I go again? Probably not. The food is amazing. They have the best mangonada around town. The only downside is the customer service sucks. It takes forever to order and its really slow. One time I just left because it took so long and no one took my order. Another time I went with my friend and they took my order waited 10 mins for them to make it then took my friends order, like why not just take both of our orders? Its like a 50/50 chance I get bad customer service when I go there. Last time I went I tried to tell the girl I had ordered online for pick up and she just walked away in the middle of me talking to go in the back and f**k around on her phone and continued to ignore me when I told her again. I shouldnt have to ask 3 times to get what I already paid for and she didnt say a thing to me when I was finally handed my order. The attitude is unnecessary and my order was sitting behind the counter already made the entire time so why do all that and make me wait when you couldve just handed it to me in the first place. The elote had a hair in it and the mangonada had a piece of celery in it (why??). I hope the customer service gets better because its a great place just shitty service. The inside of this business is gorgeous. I love the artwork on the walls, props to the artist. Absolutely phenomenal! As for the food it's pretty decent. I enjoyed the Lime ice cream. Very good. It would be cool if they added more variety of ice creams. Maybe some flavors that are not as common like cajeta ice cream or guava. My biggest complaint is just how long it took to get my order.
