Halloumi Fries, Babaghanouge, Spicy Hummus, Kabob Combo

Tanoor is a great lebanese restaurant. Everything that we ordered was delicious. We came at around 6pm on a monday and we were seated right away. The restaurant was large and had plenty of seating. We were served fresh bread with season olive oil. The babaganoush and spicy hummus were great as well (i liked the babganoush more). The meat was also perfectly cooked. I would definitely come back to try their other dishes!

Smelled amazing as soon as we walked in. Food was delicious and abundant. I was not able to finish all of my order. The plates are shareable. The service was great. We were checked on pretty often and given good recommendations. The inside of the restaurant was spacious and I liked the lighting, not too bright but not too dark. Would come back.

We had an early dinner at Tanoor before a concert on Sunday evening. It was pretty busy, but we were able to get a table for four. The meal started with complimentary pita bread and an olive oil za'atar dip--such a nice touch! We ordered the mezze medley with five dips (spicy hummus, muhammara, baba ganouj, labneh, and falafel) plus a whole order of arambeet. It was more than enough food for the four of us, especially with some extra pita to soak up all the flavors. We even had leftovers to take home. Service was quick and attentive, with our server checking in regularly. We've also been to the Sammamish location and had a great experience there as well. The fluffy, hot pita bread made fresh throughout the evening is always a highlight. Overall, a fantastic spot for dinner--fresh food, great service, and a warm atmosphere!

An easy 5 stars! I loved eveything about this place. My friend made the reservation a couple of days prior. We instantly got seated upon arrival. The staff was very attentive and friendly. Overall Vibe is relaxing and enjoyable. It was alsmot full and pretty crowded on Friday night. In my visit, where Tanoor takes a few knocks is we were seated right outside their event room which was very loud and made it difficult to hear my friend which I'll let go though! We shared labneh with pita, chicken kabob sandwich and shawarma combo. Labneh was YUM. Very flavorful and so were the main dishes. The sandwich is HUGE and very filling. The chicken is cooked extremely well and with right amount of spices. The food here is A1. This place set the pretty high standard for all other Mediterranean places I want to try, in this city. That being said, I'll still come back to try more things off the menu! I recommend this 10/10

We have been to their Sammamish location multiple times and finally made it to this location. Their food is just as good here. The service was friendly. We got the Mint Lemonade, it's a must have at Tanoor. We got the Lamb Shish Kabob, and Chicken Shawarma. For sides we got Hummus, and Stuffed Grape Leaves. We loved both the Lamb Shish Kabob, and Chicken Shawarma. The hummus and the stuffed grape leaves were great. We asked if they had a hot sauce and they gave us a spicy homemade sauce, which went great with both the rice and the meat. We love the fresh pita they serve. We finished our meal with Knefeh, we loved it, a great end to our meal.

Chicken Shawarma

Huge portions, great service and deliciously seasoned food. Came here for dinner based on a friend's recommendation. Originally looking at the menu, I thought the pricing was a bit steep but it's a LOT of food. We ordered the chicken shawarma with the batata harra. While waiting for the food, we almost got full on the pita bread alone. Then the batata harra came out. Crispy and flavorful fries w/ their signature sauce which complemented the fries well. By the time the main entree came out, we were almost too full to eat it. The chicken shawarma comes w a ginormous plate half filled with chicken, half filled w your rice of choice (we got the yellow rice). The rice was fluffy and the chicken was tender. Both super rich in flavor. We really enjoyed our dinner here. I want to come back to try their kabob dishes.

This place is so good! It's located in S LU and street parking is not too hard to find especially if you go toward the lake. I went here for dinner after work on a weekday and met up with a friend. There was basically no wait for a table, which was nice. We got the fries and Shawarma plate to share. Both dishes were super super tasty. I really like the sauces it came with. I also really like how this restaurant gives fresh warm soft and chewy pita bread. service was super nice and food came out quick. This would be a great place for groups. They have a lot of seating overall casual place to have lunch or dinner. It seems like a lot of the corporate employees hang out here after work. Would recommend if you are looking for Lebanese food in the area!

Great food and nice ambiance. The service is a tad bit slow, but if you are not in a riush, it is a great place to dine. Portions are big.

Service was friendly and patient as we tried to make decisions and asked questions. I have a friend that kind handle chile spice due to medical condition they were very accommodating when it was needed by having certain sauces on the side. We shared a number of dishes and two bottles of wine. We started with the Hummus bil Lahm ou Snobar, my favorite dish of the evening a hummus with bubbling spiced lamb. Baba Ghanouj, Bisara Munir, Arnabeet, Alhalaioun and the chicken and beef Shish Taouk. Everything was delicious. Flavorful, the proteins were cooked perfectly nice and tender. One of our friends likes meat a lot and hadn't cause he thought it was a vegetarian restaurant. We had to have the green chile sauce on the side of the asparagus dish cause of my friend but that was ok we were putting it in other items we loved it so much. Also the whipped garlic that came with the chicken and beef was a big hit! We had never had Lebanese wine and enjoyed our selections. Love that it felt like a healthier meal with the vegetables and spreads. Didn't feel stuffed after but definitely satisfied. They even comped dessert for my friends birthday which I believe was an orange rose water pudding. Welcoming warm space. Parking is fairly easy on a Tuesday night. Looking forward to visiting again

Both were very flavorful and well balanced. Love the different textures. The roasted broccoli was OK, it was on the less cooked side The entree skewers were pretty good too. Shoutout to the kind service that let me combine and do half beef and half chicken because at the point I was too full from all the appetizers I ordered but still wanted to try both. One thing I really loved about the skewer is the sauces that came on the side: one tahini, one garlic, and one tomato. Such delicious sauces! Entrees were a little pricey though. Last but not least my party enjoyed the special Lebanese wine.

This…read morewas exciting to me as I enjoy food from the Middle Eastern part of the world, and the entrees do look very enticing! We went on a Saturday around 2pm and it wasn't too busy at the takeout window. The restaurant is only takeout - there are benches right next to the takeout window, but there are only enough spots for 8 - 12 people (2-3 people per bench). The only other seating is at the nearby street seating offered by the neighboring bars, which I can see being restricted during peak hours. Parking can be very difficult if you plan on driving, there is only street side parking that is usually full, and nearby paid parking in lots. Service is fast, after we got our order, we only waited 5-8 minutes for our food. We got their recommended Soujouk (Beef) and Cheese Wrap for $16. The wrap is long, I would say about 13 - 14 inches long, and I can definitely seeing most people getting full after enjoying one of these. The flavors are nice and you can taste the spices from the sausage - I could taste cinnamon front and center with other earthy spices lingering in an aftertaste. The wrap is very decadent, the cheese is hearty and indulgent and that with the spiced sausage and textural difference with the cucumbers is pleasing. Do note with how indulgent this wrap is, you will accumulate a ton of oil in your wrapper as you enjoy it - a nap afterwards is in your future if you eat a whole wrap! I think that Yalla Seattle is a good stop to try these cuisines in a casual manner and the price is reasonable. There are some other items on the menu that kept my attention and I would totally revisit to try the other items offered by this restaurant.

Yalla is a walk up window, and there are just a couple of benches right outside where you can eat, and according to other reviews you can also go to Montana Bar next door with your food. The menu is posted in a couple places right next to the ordering window, and it's pretty easy to parse. Almost everything there is what I'd consider a "portable food", meaning something you don't need a plate, fork, and knife to eat, which makes sense given that it's not a sit down restaurant. They have veggie saj, meaty saj, mezze, a few sides, and a dessert. I really like their concise menu. We tried the baba ghanoush ($9.5), which comes with saj on the side, a batinjan and labneh saj wrap ($12), and a halloumi grilled cheese (halloumi grilled inside saj, $13). As you can tell, the saj underpins everything at Yalla, and their saj is excellent. Warm, soft, flaky, and tearable, it is perfect for both dipping and wrapping and grilling. The batinjan and labneh wrap is bursting (literally) with tender grilled eggplant, a rich sauce, and tangy, creamy labneh. It is truly one of the most delicious eggplant dishes I've ever had. The halloumi grilled cheese definitely hits the spot, and is more filling than you think by looking at it. Baba ghanoush is so smooth and flavorful, and I love the pomegranate seeds on top! The folks who work there are super nice, very friendly, and food comes out quickly. Prices are very reasonable, and I will definitely be back to try some of their meaty saj! This place is going into my regular rotation, for sure.

On one super rainy day, my partner and I were walking by and spontaneously decided to go up to the little window and get one lamb gyro the guy at the window, who I didn't know was the owner, looked at us weird and at first I was like ???? but after 5 min of prepping our order he calls us back to the window and hands us TWO gyros and says "you can't just get one! there are two of you! you won't feel full!" and he hands us both, one on the house I was so shocked it was so kind and unexpected of him. We ended up eating outside right under the window and 2 min later the owner walks out with a slice of bread and starts feeding the ducks outside the store. He told us that they're a couple and that they come by every year to lay eggs and they visit him every night for dinner during this time. He also told us that Cedars of Lebanon has been open for over 40 years and that it used to be so rowdy and exciting. So many people would gather around and spend time in his restaurant but now it's a lot quieter (I'm assuming this is because new, more novel places have been popping up on the Ave). I left this conversation so touched and full of love for this man, I genuinely wish him the best. His unprompted kindness towards a complete stranger and willingness to spend time chatting with us alone makes this place 5 stars for me, so many places lack this kind of passion and love that we could really use more of. this happened almost a year ago but I wanted to share my experience to highlight how wonderful of a man the owner is, hopefully we can continue to have nice things and no one abuses his kindness anyway I wanna go back and try their falafel apparently it's super good

Service was slow ngl, however, the old couple running the place were sooo cute I can excuse it. They were so friendly, warm, and nice; it gave off auntie and uncle vibes. Another customer in front of me must've been a regular because when the customer made conversation at the takeout window, I heard one of the workers go "We love you, John!!!" ********CLOSED************…read more They recently closed and reopened under a different name. It's now called THE BOSPHORUS PALACE. We originally went because we had seen good reviews for Almanqal Mediterranean Grill. When we got there, the server mentioned it's basically the same place but with a different menu, so we decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. The food took quite a while to come out and when it finally arrived, it wasn't even hot. The bread honestly tasted like something bought from a grocery store. The rice was very bland, and although the salad was actually really good, the chicken was extremely dry, chewy, and lacked flavor. The presentation looked nice, but the taste just didn't match. The portions were also quite small, and the prices felt very high for what you get. The service was just okay overall. Maybe they are still new and working things out, but for the price and portion size it just didn't feel worth it. Overall, it felt like a waste of time and money considering the quality and quantity of the food.

We were in the Wallingford area and searched on Yelp for a place to eat and opted for Almanqal. The…read morerestaurant itself is a bit old but doable. The décor is function over form, i.e. basic. There were two staff members at the front, both of whom also prep food, cook, or grill. She told us to order at the cash register, but others had their order taken at their table later. While they have tables to sit-down, service was limited. They were also busy with takeout orders during the peak dinner time of 6pm. It wasn't until the end of dinner rush that they walked around the tables to refill water. Understandable given their small family business. The food is pretty good, more at a neighborhood scale; I wouldn't categorize them as 'worth the drive'. Prices are reasonable for the food, not high, not a bargain, either. The Food: Fried Cauliflower with tahini sauce, $10.50 - 4 Stars I have a strong affinity to Mediterranean fried cauliflower. Theirs is slightly soft but crispy on the outside nonetheless. Could be better, but we still liked it. Eggplant pickles, $9.99 - 3 Stars Menu: Grilled Eggplant, garlic, lemon juice, cilantro, The problem with ordering at the cash register is I tend to forget to ask question(s). My eyes lit up with 'grilled eggplant' (which I love) and neglected to ask if this is a hot or cold dish. It is a COLD dish and the keyword is 'pickles'. Chopped bits of pickle things covered the grilled eggplant slices. Cold eggplant is not that good, imo. Lamb Kebab Salad, $18.99 - 3 Stars Again, due to ordering at the register, I forgot to ask what kind of salad. While the lamb kebab pieces are very tender and good, the salad consists of uninspiring iceberg lettuce with tiny bits of tomato and tiny shreds of onions. Minus a star for the salad part. Lamb Kebab, $25 - 4 Stars This dish is served with one appetizer. We chose baba ghanoush. The fact this dish comes with a full-size appetizer makes this much more worthwhile than the salad. The lamb pieces are tender, and the rice is flavorful. The baba ghanoush is also good. Thumbs up for the trio. The overall rating should be 3.5 stars. I normally round down to 3 stars for the minimal service, but I am rounding up to 4 stars for the small family business.
