The wait is finally over!!! For weeks, we were walking by this place as they prepared to open and now it's finally open and I am so glad I tried it!! Since it's first time, I figured I'll try a little bit of everything with their Mixed Grill for 2-3 people. Came with all the grilled meats and 3 sides - I got the Arambeet, Batata Harra, and Hummus with the combo rice. You get to choose how you want your meat cooked and I went for Medium Rare (because restaurants typically overcook the meat so I hedged). Wow - I am impressed that they actually cooked the meat how I asked them to!! For take out, that is pretty hard to do and I was pleasantly surprised. Next time, I'll say Medium because I know they actually do it right. The sides were great - really like the cauliflower in the Arambeet and the fries were excellent. The meats were all soooooo flavorful and perfectly seasoned - even the chicken! The pictures show you how much food you get. It definitely was enough for the two of us and we had leftovers the next day. I think the only critique I have is the pita was disappointing - came out a bit harder and firm and thinner than I expected. I had pretty high expectations for the pita since they are churning them out fresh in the restaurant and I enjoyed watching the process from the door.... I guess I expected a softer pita? Maybe I just don't know any better. *shrug* If you can overlook the price point, the food quality really is excellent and the flavors were great. We had dinner here the other night, for the first time. Love that they have an online menu, don't love that it isn't really designed to be read on a phone... it was a bit hard to navigate, and so we had a million questions for our server. We ordered the Fatayir Spaneekh for an appetizer. It was delicious. He had the Tanoor Lamp Chops, I had the Grilled Vegetable Plate. We both had the combo of yellow rice / rice and lentils. (We liked the rice and lentils better). He chose spicy hummus as a side, and I had the babagahnouge. The hummus was definitely spicy and the babaghanouge was smokey in flavor. We enjoyed our food, and felt that the quantities were very good. It seems like they still have a few things to work out with their service and process: Our main courses arrived when we were only half way through our appetizer. Our server asked us if we wanted dessert when we were still active eating our main course... and once we were done eating, he brought our check before we even finished boxing up our leftovers. This place IS A MUST!! We showed up on a Friday night at 6pm without a reservation and snagged the last seat for two. We didn't expect much but wow did this place absolutely blow my mind. Our waitress served us a beautiful, hot fluffy stack of pairs to start accompanied by an deep olive oil with sesame seeds and other little crunchy bits inside. The bread had such a fresh aroma :) Next up was the halloumi fries and this one absolutely slapped. The sweet tones of the fruity topping really cut the richness of the dairy. We also got dolma on the side and I've never had a grape leaf so tender. The accompanying tatziki was also fantastic! Finally we got our chicken shawarma with half yellow rice half lentil rice mix and the chicken was so well seasoned, way more delicious than the usual flat taste of chicken shawarma. One of the best places to get pita!! Tanoor is a really good spot to eat family style since there are a ton of options of entrees to choose from and the portions are really big. I tried their shakshuka and it was pretty good, but what made the meal was definitely eating it with their fresh pita. We generally enjoy Tanoor but today was different. We ordered different plates, falafel and pitta bread were good. We ordered chicken shwarmas and chicken was smelly. Fatayir spaneekh was too sour. Food wasn't the worst part. We were 4 adults and 2 babies. We called ahead of time and asked if there is a place. Host said yes and we reached in 10 mins as spoken. However, after reaching there, host says, there is miscommunication and you will have to wait. We were with 2 toddlers who were hungry. There was no way we could wait. We argued a little and then host says ok i will give you a table but you have to give it back in 40 mins. We literally gulped our food and got done within time. On top of it, when the check comes they said, for 6 people we automatically add gratuity. I can't believe 6 people include 2 year Olds as well. Never going here again. read more

The whole experience was a mess. We were a party of six, the server was extremely condescending and rude. He kept getting our order wrong and missed drinks, I get it, it happens but when the entrees came they brought a total of NINE entrees as he took our order wrong. Also, near the end of our meal he brought out an appetizer he had already brought out. It was confusing for all of us and every time we asked for something he seemed upset and even rolled his eyes. I agree with other reviews that if you don't conform to their standards they will treat you differently than others. It seemed like anything we asked for was a drag for the server. I'm overall happy with the food quality and service. Our server was quite nice. We got the mixed plate which included three appetizers. We got an eggplant dip, cheesy bread, and cauliflower for our appetizers. They were all pretty good. Definitely try the cheesy bread. In the mixed plate, the best were the chicken and the lamb, the rest you can skip without regrets. So while it was cool to get try different stuff in the mixed plate, I would recommend getting two separate entrees instead (chicken and lamb). The beef here was actually kinda just okay and one of the big pieces of meat in the mixed grill is downright kinda bad, very tough to chew I gave up. The mixed plate is a lot of food for more than two people (3-4 people), so it's more worth it when you're in a bigger group. Another note is this place has no AC. We had gone to the MOHAI and found this place on Yelp. Yay! The pita bread here is fluffy, fresh and delicious! The mint lemonade is super refreshing! The kebab combo -- enjoyed the lamb (so tender!) and chicken (also tender) were really nice and comes with a small vege side and yummy rice (we chose yellow, which was tasty. If there's one reason to come here it's the fresh baked pita bread. If properly timed, the bread is so steaming hot and soft and just like a pillow for the soul. The bread also comes with free Za'atar with olive oil dip. I also love how each entree comes with a free small appetizer, and this allows your party to try more dips. We all rated the baba ganoush as our favorite dips. The seasoned fries were our second favorite appetizer! The mains themselves were okay, portions were large but the meat tends to be on the dry side for both the kebabs and the shawarma. The gyro main on the other side may be my favorite gyro in Seattle! I went here for my birthday dinner with a friend last weekend and overall the food just wasn't worth the price that we paid. We ordered the beef shish kabob with a side of hummus and shawarma along with the batata harra. The meat was okay but nothing spectacular and the flavors seemed pretty weak to me all around... I've been to both the Sammamish and Seattle locations of Tanoor and both are fantastic. The Seattle location is great, especially in a clear, warm Spring or Sumner afternoon because they open the large windows which provide for some nice fresh air and a cool breeze. The service is very friendly and friendly the restaurant is a mixture of modern, while also showcasing regional decorations throughout the restaurant. The food is very good. We've tried a number of different things at both locations from the hummuses, labneh, the assorted olives & pickles, mezze medley, falafel, and the mixed grill. Across the board, everything has always been something that everyone has enjoyed, even if it's not their normal order/fare. I don't think you'll be disappointed coming here. read more

Very good food! And pretty good portions. Chicken Shawarma 8/10 Delicious chicken shawarma with tomatoes, onions, tahini, toum. Also comes with your choice of a yellow rice or rice with lentils or combo, as well as a side! We opted for the batata harra which comes with a fantastic spicy sauce. Fatayir Spaneekh 7.5/10 A bread stuffed with spinach and pomegranate molasses. Very unique flavor for me and the bread was really soft. Muhammara 8/10 Lovely red spread that was sweet and savory. They brought out two pieces of pita bread and za'atar for free which was a nice surprise. We ended up eating with the muhammara as well as the spicy sauce too. We came with five people, and the mixed grill for 4-6 was enough for us to have three containers of leftovers extra, which was great value. The cheese fatayir, babaganouge, halloumi fries, and arambeet were loved across the board. I think the only mezze that we thought we could skip on next time was the fatayir spaneekh in favor of something lighter like a salad. Our server was clearly determined to ignore us, requiring us to complain to multiple other servers to send her over; to take our drink order, our entree order, to request sufficient utensils & napkins. Basic sh*t. When she did return, she was impatient, unhelpful, and downright rude. She also opted to wear a mask, which is totally fine... but why bother if you're going to remove the mask to speak to your patrons in close distance? Seriously? What is even the point anymore in wearing a mask‽ Atmosphere is great, but I had to reduce the rating based on the 5% service fee that's fully retained by the restaurant. Just raise your prices 5% -- no need to surprise your patrons with a hidden charge when they get the bill. We've been loyal patrons via delivery, because the food really is amazing, but I doubt we'll bother coming back in person again. It's simply not worth the gamble. read more

I've never had Lebanese food but is is very similar to overall Mediterranean. The food here was very pleasant and portions we huuuuuge. The hibiscus tea was a great drink to have during the meal and even after. The grilled meats were cooked to perfection and the vegetarian mezze's were the perfect sides! The meats came with great sauces and one of them i didn't know what it was but the consistency was like puréed potatoes, so I kept eating spoonfuls of it. After some googling i found out it was puréed garlic lol it's called toum, hella bomb haha whoops. The space itself was large and felt well ventilated, although parking on a Saturday evening was tricky to find. You need to call to make reservations! It can get busy here. read more

Have heard such good things about this and have been very curious! Came here on a Friday night with a friend and we had forgotten to make a reservation. It was crazy packed! Thankfully for a table of 2 was only a 20 minute wait. The interior decorations are very pretty and we found the staff to be very friendly. We were started off with some pita bread and oil. I ordered a Lebanese falafel plate which came complete with falafels, yellow rice, and salad. Each entree comes with a cold side dish as well for which I got the spicy hummus. To say the spicy hummus was good would be an understatement. I would come back solely for it and the pita bread! The portion sizes were definitely on the larger side- could definitely make two meals out of it. Despite being insanely full, we got the baklava plate which came with 3 different baklavas. The food is good and the menu is refreshed periodically to make things interesting. The dining space has a surprisingly good view given it's in the burbs. Their online ordering app is terrible with bizarre usability decisions and a confounding interface. It's as if it was written by someone who never used a phone app before and refused to read the manual. At least it now accepts Apple Pay. While I love Lebanese food and the people, I am deeply uncomfortable with the founder's espoused views. While he is entitled to be wrong, I cannot in good conscience patronize a business where half of my kids are unwelcome for being who they are. read more

I ordered catering from Tanoor and food and service was awesome! Their catering menu is available online, but wanted to call to add a couple things as a la carte and their staff and restaurant manager was very caring and attentive. Everyone loved the food and the portions were great too that we all took some food home too! Restaurants manager told me that no one has ever complained about their portions and he wasn't kidding. This rating is for my overall experience with Tanoor. I ordered the food through DoorDash around 5:30 PM. I got to the restaurant around 6:15 PM to pick up my order. They were super busy with lots of people waiting to be seated. They were super short staffed. I couldn't get a staff to follow up on my order. They talked to me then walk away and never answer my questions/check on my order. I ended waiting more than 90 minutes outside of the restaurant for my food. It was the worst pickup experience I've ever had in Seattle. Overall, the restaurant is very poorly managed. The food was okay. Overall, 3/5 for me. I got the halloumi fries, shawarma combo, and guava lemonada. The picture showed the lemonada as a blended drink. When I sipped on it, there's no guava flavor at all and the drink was super watered down. The rice was good but the meat lacks seasoning and flavor. I love this place! My husband and I discovered Tanoor as we used to live right around the corner. Now though we make the trip to SLU because the food is just SO GOOD! Three of us shared a mixed grill plate with two types of hummus and cauliflower. We also had pomegranate and orange blossom lemonades. It was all delicious! My all time favourite though is the cauliflower which tastes like is has a little lemon on it and comes with a tahini sauce. They also have gluten free pita they make in house which is really delicious! I really recommend Tanoor, especially if you like Lebanese food! And if you haven't tried it you need to! read more

It's a pretty big establishment with lot os space to dine in( they prefer reservations). Lots of options for a vegetarian, extensive menu for that. I had the Arambeet plate and my husband the chicken shawarma plate. The portions were huge and even the prices were on the higher side but the portions justify that. They have complimentary pita and olive oil and it was really fresh and subtle. I liked my arambeet plate, it was tasty with the tahini and the peperoncini. I do wish the turnips were pickled more though. We had the kunefe for dessert which did not meet my expectations, it wasn't crispy (I like the crispy exterior and a cheesy inside) . The filling,cheesy interior and the generous pistachio overlay was appealing( I feel ithers might like it). The host was gracious enough to take it off the cheque for us because I didn't like it. Woah!! I had an amazing experience dining here last night. From the fresh pita to every dip & bite, my mouth was left mesmerized by the robust flavors and freshness of the food. Our server was incredibly kind and accommodating, which made the experience feel luxurious. The ambience was lively, colorful, and warm with a flaming oven baking up the tasty homemade pita bread. We ordered the BABAGHANOUGE, CHEESE FATAYIR, BATATA HARRA, ARAMBEET, SHAWARMA COMBO, MINT LEMONADA, ROSE SODA, and this fed the 4 of us very well.
