Mixed meat platter.

OKAY - fair warning - NO BOOZE HERE :( I was meeting four people I had never met before the night before we were all heading off on a 10-day cruise, so the pressure was ON. I had to pick a place everyone would enjoy, and, ideally, somewhere we could actually get a reasonable-hour reservation. After a few rounds of back-and-forth, we settled on this place. It was a bit of a walk from our hotel, but no biggie. The restaurant itself is charming, and the hot, fresh pita breads coming out of the oven were a very good omen. The rest of our party arrived, and we were seated toward the back of the room. At first, I noticed a little door literally right next to our table and thought, "UGH, the bathroom is on top of us." Nope. It was a prayer room. So... fine. Then BAM, the bad news. We wanted to order cocktails, and they don't serve any alcohol. WHOOPS, my bad! But honestly, how often do you come across that scenario? A nice restaurant that takes reservations, has a full dinner menu, and serves absolutely no booze. I clearly missed that detail when I made the reservation. Fortunately, the food more than made up for my cocktail disappointment. It started with the fresh pita and some kind of crack oily/herby dip they served with it. If they sold this stuff by the bottle, I would have bought some. Seriously, it was unbelievable. I could have made a meal out of the bread and dip alone - and who is saying I didn't?. My man and I split a mixed meat platter. I honestly can't remember everything that was on it because I was trying to pay attention to getting to know the people I was about to spend 10 days cruising with. I do remember that everything was quite tasty, well roasted, and that the pork was my favorite. So, come for the food, the fresh pita, and that ridiculously addictive dip. Just know before you go: you will not be ordering a cocktail with dinner. But more good news, is that the bill without alcohol will be cheaper.

Lamb kebab perfectly cooked how I asked pink in middle. Tender and flavorful. Great start w fatoosh salad and that pita w the olive oil, sesame seeds and spices...WOW. Ended w hibiscus tea brewing in silver tea kettle. $51 including 19% tip. It was a bounty of delicious food for that price.

Tanoor is one of the more pleasant surprises in my time in Seattle. I've always thought about the Westlake / SLU area as a food dessert. Filled with corporate slop bowls to fuel up tech bros, you won't find a decent meal anywhere on this side of the lake. But Tanoor is kind of like that special someone who has been there your whole life but you've always looked past for greener pastures. This restaurant was staring me right in the eyes for years, and I didn't realize how magnificent it was until today. When you walk in you are greeted by warm, fresh and fluffy pita. Guess what, IT COMES WITH THE MEAL! Everyone knows I'm a sucker for some free bread. But don't let these Lebanese pillows fill you up, the dip marathon has just begun. The menu here is unlike anything I've ever seen. You can get lost trying to figure out what to order for lunch, so I would advise consulting the waitstaff for guidance through this delightful maze. I just looked on their menu to figure out what the fries that I ate were called, and I can't find them for the life of me. But they had their own incredible dip completely covering them. At one point we had 4 different dips on the table, and I'm not sure how they got there. 1) The dip on the fries 2) Spicy hummus (not that spicy, incredibly tasty) 3) Za'tar that comes with the pita 4) Yogurt sauce that came with the Kabob combo Everything comes with something else here. And since I was having an electric conversation with my good friend, I sort of lost track of everything that we ordered. But if you love dipping things in other things as much as I do, you will love Tanoor!

Fatoush and Kabob Combo

I honestly can't believe this came out to nearly $80. We ordered the fattoush salad and the kabob combo for takeout, and unfortunately the value just wasn't there. The biggest disappointment was the kabob plate. It was mostly rice with very little meat, and the beef was fully well done even though we ordered it medium-rare. The fries were also soggy and tasted like they had been sitting for a while before being packed. The fattoush was fresh enough, but for around $20 it felt like a very basic salad. I had also heard that dine-in guests receive unlimited pita refills, so opening our takeout order to find just a single pita felt super disappointing . Maybe this restaurant shines more as a dine-in experience, but based on our takeout order, I left pretty disappointed. Between the portion sizes, quality, and overall value, it just didn't live up to the price.

Came here for an celebration after a graduation at Seattle University. The food and service were great! Everyone was friendly. They do not serve any alcohol. We ordered some appetizers for the table to share. Hummus, Salads, etc. I ordered the chicken shawarma as my main. My friend ordered the lamb and beef shawarma.

spicy hummus, babaghanouge, and fresh hot pita

This is my go-to whenever I'm craving rice and meat. I always order the Mixed Grilled for 2-3, it's easily the best value on the menu. For $88, you get four different grilled proteins, grilled veggies, rice, and your choice of three full size vegetarian appetizers. All the meats are flavorful, juicy, and tender. My favorite apps are the spicy hummus, babaghanouge, and arambeet. They also bring out fresh pita on the house which is always hot, soft, and perfect for dipping. Portions are super generous! My boyfriend and I always end up with enough leftovers for another meal. Service can be a bit slow at times, but the staff is very friendly. Definitely my top spot for Lebanese/Mediterranean food and highly recommend!

Muhammara
Boon C.

Nice restaurant and very popular among the neighborhood. During the dinner time, the place is packed during weeknight. We have three people and we order the mixed grilled. They are not cheap compared to city of Tampa same food. The mixed grilled protein has beef, lamb, shish tawook, chicken, and grilled vegetables. The marinated meat is there but not deep into the meat. The side dishes are very interesting and better than normal Mediterranean food. We got the Arambeet - fried cauliflower. This dish top with tahini and spices. Very tasty. The second side dish is the muhammara- grind red pepper, walnut, pomegranate. This is a good dip. The third dish is Eggplant Shakshouka - is mixed eggplant, red pepper, garlic and tomato. Great with pita accompanied. We enjoy our night there. One thing I like is the food does not need to wait long even we have a full house of customers.

Muhammamrah, Batata Harra, Arambeet, Spicy Hummus

As you enter the restaurant you feel royal and luxurious . The gorgeous lights and spacious place. As a vegetarian we had a variety of option under appetizers and main course. Food was great. Server was helpful in deciding the menu. We ordered Spicy hummus, muhammara, harra fries and arambeet as appetizers. For main course we had falafel plate. The quantity is too good and too much. Also we get fresh breads.

I drive by this place all the time. And I'm surprised I haven't gone in before. I'm a huge fan of Lebanese food. They bring out a plate of pita and molasses with spices for dipping. It was really tasty and hearty for dinner. I had the eggplant shaksuka, which is served cold. So if you're used to breakfast shakshuka, being served hot just in FYI portions are generous. The menu has so many good things that I can't wait to come back with a crowd of people. And try a whole bunch. The rose soda was the best that I've ever had. I love the taste and flavor of rose, but this was over the top, and of course, I ended up taking some food home. They brought me not only a plastic for it but way too much bread. It was very generous. And then the check comes with mint chocolates.Overall, five out of five ten out of ten. However, you wanna look at it definitely goes into heavy rotation

Shawarma tasted like boiled meat
Amin O.

Really had high hopes but man it just didn't deliver. The pita was beautiful but bland taste. The Shawarma was one of the worst Middle Eastern dishes I've ever had. Looked and tasted like boiled meat. Service was great so that's the only reason for 2 stars. Very disappointing.

Rack of lamb
Sresan T.

The pita was made fresh and the hummus was amazing. Also definitely get the rack of lamb. Staff was friendly

Good atmosphere and great service. Food is good, quality of lamb and beef can be a little inconsistent but portions always make it worth the price.

We had an early dinner at Tanoor before a concert on Sunday evening. It was pretty busy, but we were able to get a table for four. The meal started with complimentary pita bread and an olive oil za'atar dip--such a nice touch! We ordered the mezze medley with five dips (spicy hummus, muhammara, baba ganouj, labneh, and falafel) plus a whole order of arambeet. It was more than enough food for the four of us, especially with some extra pita to soak up all the flavors. We even had leftovers to take home. Service was quick and attentive, with our server checking in regularly. We've also been to the Sammamish location and had a great experience there as well. The fluffy, hot pita bread made fresh throughout the evening is always a highlight. Overall, a fantastic spot for dinner--fresh food, great service, and a warm atmosphere!

Service was friendly and patient as we tried to make decisions and asked questions. I have a friend that kind handle chile spice due to medical condition they were very accommodating when it was needed by having certain sauces on the side. We shared a number of dishes and two bottles of wine. We started with the Hummus bil Lahm ou Snobar, my favorite dish of the evening a hummus with bubbling spiced lamb. Baba Ghanouj, Bisara Munir, Arnabeet, Alhalaioun and the chicken and beef Shish Taouk. Everything was delicious. Flavorful, the proteins were cooked perfectly nice and tender. One of our friends likes meat a lot and hadn't cause he thought it was a vegetarian restaurant. We had to have the green chile sauce on the side of the asparagus dish cause of my friend but that was ok we were putting it in other items we loved it so much. Also the whipped garlic that came with the chicken and beef was a big hit! We had never had Lebanese wine and enjoyed our selections. Love that it felt like a healthier meal with the vegetables and spreads. Didn't feel stuffed after but definitely satisfied. They even comped dessert for my friends birthday which I believe was an orange rose water pudding. Welcoming warm space. Parking is fairly easy on a Tuesday night. Looking forward to visiting again

Both were very flavorful and well balanced. Love the different textures. The roasted broccoli was OK, it was on the less cooked side The entree skewers were pretty good too. Shoutout to the kind service that let me combine and do half beef and half chicken because at the point I was too full from all the appetizers I ordered but still wanted to try both. One thing I really loved about the skewer is the sauces that came on the side: one tahini, one garlic, and one tomato. Such delicious sauces! Entrees were a little pricey though. Last but not least my party enjoyed the special Lebanese wine.

I had two hours to waste so it gave me plenty of time to get up to Capitol Hill and back to Pioneer Square. Yalla is a walk up window with a bench outside to sit but I imagine most people take the food to go. I was sharing the food with five other people so the three mezze dips was the perfect option, I also added the special dip of the day that had 100% proceeds going to help those in Nepal. I also added one of the pressed Saj, the grilled Kefta a lot easier to share. One of my friends wanted the Lamb wrap so that was included in the order as well. Love how fresh the ingredients were. Each dip had distinctively different flavors and textures. Saj was included two different ways to enjoy with the mezze in its soft flatbread form and as a cracker perfect for dipping. My favorites were the Muhummara and the Nuraniye (Zuchinni Dip). I liked the tanginess of the Muhummara and the fresh lemon forward of the Nuraniye. The Kefta was delicious, I need to carry a knife for situations like this when sharing food we ended up ripping off pieces this came with Labneh. Ended up sampling 3 of their wrap options and the Zaatar Wrap was deliciously nutty and fragrant, but texturally there was so many herbs that the center ate a little dry. The Lahme Khuruf (Lamb) was my favorite by far with super juicy ground meat with some tang from the labneh, sweetness, freshness from the tomato, and texture from the pine nuts. Absolute home run on this one! The Awarma and Cheese was a close second, but personally, the flavor profile was just a little less interesting than the lamb. Tip: grab some extra napkins as the wraps can fall apart a bit at the end!
