I checked out the renovated Sweetgreen location on Guadalupe with a friend earlier this week. I never had the chance to visit before renovations, so I am not sure how to compare it, but the place looks great! Very aesthetically pleasing, live plants everywhere, plenty of seating available, large space, tall ceilings...very nice all around! The ordering process was quick and easy. You go down the line from base to proteins to add-ons and sauces. Checkout was easy, as well. I ended up ordering the chicken pesto salad for the first time. It's not my favorite (I normally order the harvest bowl) so I am not sure if I would get it again (it was pretty bland), but I trust the other options on the menu and would recommend those! One thing I will say is that parking can be a little tricky. This is a great location in terms of its proximity to UT Austin's campus, meaning that students can easily walk on over, but if you are driving, you may find yourself driving around a bit before you find parking. read more

I had the Caramelized Garlic Steak and it was delicious! I came here for a Yelp event, and I will definitely be returning. I have to admit that my favorite thing was the pesto sauce that came with this meal. It really added just the right flavor to this already amazing dish. This meal came with wild rice, broccoli, tomatoes, sweet potatoes, and of course, steak! I mixed all the ingredients together to have a little bit of everything in each bite. I poured the pesto sauce on top and that really took it to another level. This meal was filling and healthy. I was unable to finish the whole plate in one setting, but believe me, I did finish all of it! It was also surprisingly quick for them to plate up the food. I have been to other similar style restaurants and it seems to take them a long time to put the meal together. Not at this place! I was on a bit of a time crunch and I had to take my meal to go. They even offered a complimentary piece of sourdough bread. That is my favorite, so of course it was amazing. The staff that were working there seemed organized and quite friendly. They made a point to say hello to every customer that walked in. There is a small dining area, but it was really cute. Sweetgreen is one of those places that I keep coming back to as a young professional. While parking around this area is sparse (it is mainly parallel parking), if you are able to meander over to this Sweetgreen location, you will find that it is a clean and the staff is very friendly. Overall, I always enjoy a salad from Sweetgreen and I come for the Harvest Bowl in particular. It is a little bit pricey, but this is not unexpected in terms of pricing from Sweetgreen. If you enjoy a clean, healthy salad, this is the spot to come to. The staff at Sweetgreen is very kind, even in their busiest hours and I appreciate their hard work to give folks their food in a timely manner. Why have I not been here before? I'm glad I looked online first and found out you must order online. Usually I'm a bit of a luddite, but for places like this, where you build-your-own whatever, I think online ordering is the way to go. I don't like waiting 10-15 minutes to order something that doesn't require much preparation. (I'm looking at you, Cava.) It's also nice that the online ordering didn't take two hours to fulfill. (Again, ahem, Cava.) I was able to get a really nice salad here, with ingredients I like (lentils, chickpeas, quinoa, roasted sweet potato). Absolutely no complaints. My final straw occurred at today's lunch hour. I ordered my usually guacamole greens bowl, just the way it comes. However, it came with a half browned avocado, minimum protein, and a barely half filled salad bowl. For the price of $14.34, without tip, I am paying a premium on a bowl of mostly greens. It should be filling compared to the next door competitor of chipotle, where I can spend $5 less and get more for my dollar. This bowl last year was $14.10; I do not understand where the additional $0.24 goes to? Should we start recording the sweetgreen workers with our phones to increase proportion sizes like chipotle? My new go to spot for salads and healthy bowls! Sweetgreen has tons of options for whatever dietary needs you might have. They have a lot of bowls and salads to choose from and if you don't like any of those, you can always make your own! We ordered online for pickup in store here. They have a pickup window for takeout orders. We brought it home to eat and was surprised by how big the bowls were. I built my own bowl with kale, quinoa, tofu, beets, lentils, sweet potatoes, and walnuts with a side of sourdough. The only problems were I forgot to add a sauce so I used some I had at home and I didn't realize the beets were raw. Overall the salad was really good and I didn't have any problems with ordering or pickup so I'll definitely be back. read more

I've been trying a little bit more healthy for the longest and this place has satisfied that! Every time I visit, the workers are so friendly and engaging, it makes me always want to visit again. It creates ease and takes the stress away from the many ingredients available. My personal favorite is the Buffalo Chicken Bowl I was surprised that the Buffalo was not overbearing and was extremely savory. I also tried to expand my palette and try a hot chicken plate which was very filling and my other go-yo as well! I wish that the restaurant had more drink selections besides sparkled water and had possibly more natural lemonades and juices like other restaurants.
