This is such a good place. I love how you can just customize your order with everything that you want. When you arrive, you can order on your own or you can have somebody come up to the register and help you order. Everyone there is so nice and they're very quick to get your order fast. They also do online orders, which is great so you just show up and pick it up. Honestly, you can't go wrong with anything there and let me tell you though you definitely need to order the french fries because they are so good. I don't know what they do to them. That makes them taste amazing. I am always between the bowl and the wrap, the wrap just taste so good because that rap taste like authentic Tortilla. I don't know how to explain it but it's delicious so you definitely have to try it. Also, I love the bowl because sometimes I just want a bunch of rice and lettuce and all the proteins which makes it really good. Also make sure that you get a little bit of every sauce. They're all delicious and unique. Definitely check out this place. It has expanded so much because they're doing so well. It has to be out of your list of restaurants to eat at.

The super duper wrap

August 10, 2025 review: ----- We tried this place during lunch around 1-1:30pm time and it was pretty empty, just one table reserved I believe. My husband and I got two wraps- San Diego and Super Duper, Both wraps are huge- either two people can eat from one wrap (I'm referrinng to good hungry good people) or If you eat by yourself, it's easily two meals for one person. We didn't know about the size and got one each. San Diego had the falafel with saffron rice, some of the side toppings, hummus and Tzatziki dip. For super duper, we had the falafal with fries, no rice and other toppings. I must say both of the wraps were pretty dry. I added a lot of side sauce while eating later on. The side sauce are kept at the corner of restaurant and incuded, OG yogurt, fire chilli and green spicy tangy sauce. Parking garage is located just next to the restaurant and parking ticket gets validated so that's pretty good. Restrooms are available but need code, cleanliness is ok. Overall good experience.

I really like this fast casual restaurant chain. It got its start in San Diego in 2007, and expanded to new locations in California as well as Texas and Florida over the years. I put myself on a (mostly) Mediterranean diet about a year ago. TKS delivers healthy, delicious, reasonably priced Mediterranean food, on so many levels: - A great assortment of fresh protein, grain and veggie choices that you can mix and match - Fast and friendly service - Good value; fairly priced - Delicious - Dine-in or takeout I have no desire to eat at the restaurant and for this reason alone, I am knocking off one star. It has hospital cafeteria vibes.

I do love the humongous wraps at The Kebab Shop. Made with thin, easy to digest tortilla style pita bread and filled with your choice of protein and a plethora of delicious toppings and finger licking sauces. We have tried the falafel and chicken shawarma wraps and both are great. The wraps are big enough for a meal and next day snack for me. You order at the counter and food preparation, serving is fairly quick. I also really like the TKS story printed on the walls of the restaurant. This particular location does not have a parking lot, so street parking or to go order would be best.

Greek bowl with Lamb beef

The food was perfect! Portions were great! I had the Geek bowl. Very tasty and satisfying. The service was by far the best! We got greeted multiple times and each of the staff members was sure to acknowledge me! The restrooms were very clean and smelled nice and fresh. The ambiance was pretty chill and spacious!

This is somewhat like a fast food Mediterranean restaurant. You order at the counter either via self ordering kiosk or by the person manning the counter. Orders come out fairly quick. They have sauce containers and sauces on the side near the drink station, so you can load up on extra sauces to add to your meal. I liked the cilantro jalapeño sauce (it's not that spicy). The portion size is huge! The wrap I got was almost as long as the tray. I did ask for sauce inside the wrap, but I didn't really taste any, but luckily I had the extra sauce that I grabbed from the counter. Taste-wise, it did feel a bit lacking without the extra sauce on the side. Didn't realize this was a chain - I hope I can visit the one near me in Northern California soon!

Shawarma and salad
Teri K.

first time into this establishment and so glad I tried it. I tried the lamb and beef Shawarma on salad. Everything was very fresh. The meat is sliced on the thinner size, but it was still an ample portion. Nice option of sauces for the side. The jalapeño cilantro is really spicy and good. Wish I had one of these closer to me in South Austin.

Bowl and hummus

Ashley was the sweetest person to order from so late at night! The food smells amazing but she really sold the location for me! massive hummus, it's from my bowl but I asked for it on the side.

I was visiting and saw this and wanted to try it out. The bowl, the saffron rice straight up taste like plastic which made the whole bowl inedible. Had to throw it out. I've had saffron before and it never tasted like that. So disappointed

Overall good quality of food, nice serving, timely deliver and reasonable prices. They forgot to put utencils in my first delivery but was better next time I don't have experience about ambience and I ordered in .

The San Diego Bowl with Falafel
Victoria O.

I ordered the San Diego bowl to-go for lunch and was pleasantly surprised by how large of a portion it was! I chose fries as my base but it came topped with lettuce, tomato, cucumber, slaw, feta cheese and garlic yogurt. I added falafel and pickled onions, plus the cilantro jalapeño sauce on the side. Really yummy! I love that you can build your own bowl, plate or wrap and customize them however you like. Such a quick and delicious lunch, I will definitely be ordering again!

Rice Rice Baby Wrap with Steak and Spicy Hummus
Stephanie M.

Two first's today at Kebab. Dined on the patio and tried a wrap. It was such a beautiful sunny day and its not crazy hot outside quite yet. Nice little patio to enjoy lunch and people watch. I went with the Rice Rice Baby Wrap with Steak and added Spicy Hummus. Super refreshing and the steak was very tender and juicy. I only was able to eat half as the wrap is HUGE, but i like that the wrap flatbread is on the thinner side and not super filling. Don't forget to pair it with their yummy sauces. My fav's are the O.G. Yogurt and Cilantro Jalapeno. Service was also quick given that it was a busy lunch time.

The kebabs are the true highlight...juicy, flavorful, and grilled to perfection. The portions are quite large as the hubs and I shared a wrap. We were sufficiently full after eating the chicken tikka wrap. Interestingly, the wrap came in a Shawarma King packaging with their contact phone number. So, I assume that Usta staff are sub-contracting from Shawarma King. Usta also has freshly baked bread and classic sides like hummus and rice paired with the main dishes. The restaurant has a homey, lived in feel. It has a few middle eastern artifacts sprinkled throughout the restaurant. The menu offers a wide variety of options, from Iraqi and Adana kebabs to shawarma and traditional Middle Eastern plates, so there are food items for both first timers and regulars who want to explore beyond the basics. They also serve flatbreads where you can have two different toppings. The food focus is on bold, traditional flavors rather than modern takes on middle eastern foods. On the desserts front, they have an assortment of desserts and several sections of ice cream. I had the baklava, which was surprisingly delicious...it was not eye-squinting sweet like a standard baklava. It was crunchy, flavorful, and had nuts that were substantial. Layla, my server, was so super sweet and welcoming. She pointed out that Usta provides its customers free tea. How cool is that? I cannot remember last time I received a free drink.

Loro is an Asian smokehouse and bar featuring grilled and smoked meats with Southeast Asian and Japanese-inspired sauces, sides, and a bar that boasts craft beer, boozy slushees, and batch cocktails. Parking at this location is a bit of a challenge. They have overflow parking in the back but the spots are really small. We sat at the bar area and worked our way through cocktails, apps, and dessert. We opened a tab and the bar staff takes your order which is convenient, versus how you normally have to order by waiting in line at the bar. The bar staff was extremely busy because they have to make all the cocktails and take the line orders at the bar. They are a master of multitasking. It was $3 martini night on Tuesday, so was excited to sample the four different drink options. lychee martini, Mexican martini, and Lucky Cat cosmo martini. Lychee martini is made with new amsterdam vodka, sake, elderflower, Mexican martini with espolon blanco, olive, yuzu, lime and cosmo with vodka, blood orange, naranja, lime. The lychee was hands down my favorite of the three. We started with the Dip Sampler that included a trifecta of smoked shishito queso, smoked salmon dip and Thai green salsa with the Siete blue corn tortilla chips. We went through the chips quickly and got a second round of wonton chips which I preferred to the Siete chips. Tried the Mango Chamoy frozen Slushee with Siete Chamoy Botana Sauce & Siete Chile Lime Seasoning Rim, passionfruit, Aperol, Sake and Sparkling Wine which was refreshing. All their boozy slushies are $5 during happy hour. Ordered the oak grilled edamame from the happy hour menu and it was a flavor explosion with a dusting of serracha powder, lemon zest and white sesame. For dinner, I ordered my go-to rice bowl with coconut-scented rice, seasonal pickles, thai herbs and steak as the protein. They normally served this with Bavette, but the steak was a bit tough and chewy this time. Finished everything off with cheesecake with five spice crumble, yuzu marmalade for dessert. The vibe at the bar was relaxed and lively without feeling overwhelming, and the collab menu felt creative without trying too hard. The ingredients are very thoughtful for a fully developed flavor profile. Just what I would expect from the culinary minds of Tyson Cole and Aaron Franklin. Definitely one of the regulars in my list when craving good cocktails with a casual but elevated food menu.

This time, I barely managed to squeeze one into my trip, and it was kind of a last minute stop from a food truck that wasn't even on Yelp. Upon doing my food research, I was struck by Halal Time's great rating and couldn't pass up the opportunity to visit. I was staying in a hotel less than a mile away, which made it even easier to stop by. The result? I wouldn't say it fully hit the spot on what I'd remembered from old NYC trips, but I did enjoy it. I go up to the window, tell him I'm here to pick up the order and he says door dash has not given him orders for 3 days. So my orders were not made. When I got to the pickup window they asked if I wanted the food to go or dine in, and we chose to dine in so we could eat it fresh. They had to go containers available at the truck if you needed them. The portions looked small but were actually pretty filling. 1/2 lb Pomegranate and Za'atar Glazed Pork Ribs ($17): Came with 2 ribs that were okay. They were a little dry and lacking flavor on their own but tasted much better dipped in the pomegranate barbecue sauce. Combo Rice Bowl ($20): Came with mediterranean yellow rice, baladi salad, sauce, protein, cinnamon candied nuts, and pomegranate seeds. For the combo, you get to choose 2 proteins. I went with brisket and kofta (ground beef and lamb). Both were really good but a tad salty so the baladi salad helped balance that out. Egyptian Cowboy ($15): I chose lamb for this and it was the star of the show. The pulled lamb shoulder was incredibly tender and flavorful. The smoked mac and cheese was really good too but the rich bechamel was a bit much for us. The sumac pickled onions helped balance out the heaviness of both the mac and cheese and the lamb shoulder. Cardamom Pistachio Rice Pudding ($9.50): Pricey for rice pudding but I wanted to try the unique flavor. It was light but the cardamom flavor was strong. Interesting to try once but I wouldn't order it again.

Review: Fierce Flavors at Austin's Top 100 BBQ Tucked into a…read morequintessential corner lot, this Austin food truck isn't just serving barbecue; it's serving a certified experience. As a recipient of the prestigious Texas Monthly Top 100 BBQ Award, the expectations were high--and for the most part, they were met. The venue itself provides a fantastic, relaxed vibe, complete with plenty of TVs and a music stage, making it the perfect spot for chilling out on a lazy afternoon or settling in for an evening hang. The Main Event: Pitmaster Excellence The true test of a Texas BBQ joint is the holy trinity, and here, they nailed the fundamentals: * Brisket: This was Texas BBQ as it should be. The brisket was super juicy, delivered a profound, deep flavor, and possessed a flawless, great bark that spoke to hours of skillful smoking * Spare Ribs: A study in contrast and texture. The ribs offered a satisfying "good pull"--firm enough to bite but still falling cleanly off the bone. The thick, peppery bark was beautifully balanced by a slight sweetness from a pepper jelly glaze, adding a layer of sophisticated flavor you don't always find. * Pork Belly Burnt Ends: These were pure decadence. Each bite provided a delicious, melt-in-your-mouth experience with a distinct and welcome hint of Fierce Whiskers bourbon woven into the smoky, fatty flavor. They are so rich and irresistible, you know you shouldn't eat too many, but good luck stopping. * Jalapeño and Cheese Sausage: This locally sourced link brought the heat with a good level of spice. The flavor was excellent, though the texture leaned slightly toward the processed side, which was the only minor drawback among the meats. The Supporting Cast: Sides A great plate of BBQ requires sides that stand up to the meat, and while two of these were stars, one needs a little work. * Mac & Cheese: An absolute winner. It was cheesy, creamy, and featured an excellent smoked flavor that permeated the dish. The slightly charred edges added a delightful textural counterpoint. * Hash Brown Casserole: This was a surprisingly strong contender, offering a nice assembly of savory flavors. The secret weapon was the corn flake topping, providing an unexpected but welcome crunch, complemented by a satisfying hint of bacon. * Creamed Corn: Unfortunately, this side was the weakest link. It tasted primarily bland, despite a slight peppery note. It desperately needs some fresh jalapeños mixed in to cut through the creaminess and add the essential Texas kick. Final Verdict The meat selection here is truly Top 100 worthy, excelling in technique, flavor, and execution (especially the Brisket and Burnt Ends). The atmosphere is perfect for a relaxed gathering. While the Creamed Corn missed the mark, the stellar Hash Brown Casserole and Smoked Mac & Cheese prove that their side game is usually strong. Come for the high-quality, authentic Texas barbecue, stay for the great outdoor patio.
