Overall, the food was delicious especially the hummus and the chicken mansaf. However for some reason, the staff would clear out all dirty dishes on the table even when I'm not done eating so in some cases other diners would take the table previously occupied even if that particular diner is still eating which is strange since there's no indicator or marker to tell who is sitting where.

I haven't seen a Mediterranean buffet before, so I was excited to give this a try. The buffet includes drinks as well. The tamarind drink was good. They have freshly baked pita. The salads were fresh, and I enjoyed the beet salad in particular. We found some o the meats too dry (chicken, fried fish), but the ground meat options were good. Prices just went up ($20.99 weeknight dinner) but still good value for the meal.

Everything you want in a buffet! Clean, reasonably priced, and so much good food! I especially loved their hibiscus tea and gyros. Can't wait to go back!!

Came in after a hike to refuel our bodies. Everything was very clean, I love they had gloves to wear for the patrons as they scoop thier selected dish onto thier plates! Plenty of options , salads, pizza, sauces, meat and vegatarian dishes with great tea options as well. The falafel was great as was the eggplant dip (forgot the name) . Plenty of seating for small and large parties! Would come back if in the area

So when you first walk in it is seat yourself, and you pay at the end. Everything is self service so only one person really walking around cleaning up the plates. The place is big and clean, which is great. The reason I'm giving a three stars is just because I didn't think the food was that great. The pricing was fine. It was $20 so no biggie. They had a great selection in the salad bar so be your vegetarian. It's great. Now I have to say the hummus to me tasted weird. It was sweet, so it was not my cup of tea at all. When it came to the selection of meat, yeah they had a lot, but they weren't that tasty. The only one I liked was the Gyro, which was the mix of lamb and beef. The other selections were a little salty or no flavor or too fishy. They did have some selection that was typical, which was fried chicken and pizza. I'm assuming mainly for the kids. I will say the soups were really good. When it came to the pita bread, it was mediocre not something I would grab again. I just had no flavor. And then they had the sweet selection which was OK. It was nothing special. Overall, it was nice to try it once, but I just wouldn't go again.

My first visit to DiMassi's and it won't be my last. I am always a little bit apprehensive about buffets with cleanliness and food safety, as well as food quality. They hit the marks on all of it. The place is absolutely spotless. The buffet items are continually being rotated out to ensure freshness. The selection is just incredible, and the food is so good. I LOVE the chicken soup so much. I like that there are a variety of Mediterranean/Middle Eastern salads, kebabs, dips, desserts, meats, and more. I had arugula salad, Greeks salad, cucumber salad, and tabouleh and they were fantastic. The pita was light and fluffy. The chicken kebabs and rice were YUM! Service was super friendly and attentive.

Dimassi's Mediterranean Buffet in South Austin is a gem if you're craving Middle Eastern-Mediterranean flavors. The moment you walk in, you're greeted with a huge selection of fresh dishes--from creamy hummus and crisp salads to flavorful shawarma and perfectly seasoned falafel. Plus, it's the cleanest all-you-can-eat with the great price tag so bring your appetite! This is the best deal in Austin for a cuisine that is not well represented! The price is great for the variety you get, and there's virtually zero wait time. Grab a plate and dive right in with no stress, no lines. Parking is also hassle-free, which is a big plus in Austin. The staff is friendly and keeps the buffet stocked, so you can focus on enjoying the food. For dessert, they do offer a few sweets, but there's room for improvement. Dimassi's is a solid place to hang out with friends, or just fill up on delicious dishes without breaking the bank. Great place for large groups as well. I'll definitely be back! Make sure you try the Kofte Kebab, Babaganush ( EggPlant) and and shredded beef. Dont skip the salad! This is your spot for weekdays and weekend lunch or dinner !

Just a few of the selections they have available.

We enjoy eating Mediterranean food so when my kids are in town they always like coming here. I've been to this specific location 3 times and always had a good experience & service. The food is decent and they have a good selection. They come around often to clear dishes and the place is always clean. I'm not big on buffets but this spot is saved on my list.

The prices are amazing for a Buffet.

I love coming to this place any night of the week. I always start with veggies and the selection never disappoints as it feels and tastes and look freshly made. While I'm not a curry guy my son loves that they have one curry dish he likes on certain nights of the week. Desert to drinks there's a huge selection. Bring the family or just bring a group of friends, it's that open for all to enjoy.

I sincerely love this place. It's so clean, has lots of open space, the food is fresh, the service is so kind and welcoming...and the best part of the experience as a Muslim is you don't have to miss or skip any food because it's all Halal! What is offered in the buffet is quite impressive because the entrees and choices of sides are so diverse! All of the favorites are there. Tabuleh, spiced rice, roasted chicken, fried fish, doner, kebab... And my favorite part are the tea and desserts. Endless teaaaaaaa! Which I didn't get pictures of because I was so excited about it. But trust me on this part. It's an excellent way relax after enjoying a beautiful and plentiful meal.

Dry an thin Baklava. Almost no flavor..

Fresh pita & dips (free) - 5/5 As soon as we sat down the waiter brought out pita and a special dip that I never tried in other restaurants, and the pita was still warm like it had just come out of the oven. Soft, fluffy, and really fresh. I used it to dip into the sides we ordered later--the Baba Ghanouj and Hummus. The baba ghanouj had that roasted eggplant smokiness, while the hummus was thick, creamy, and very sesame-forward. Both were solid. Flatbread Trio ($15) - 5/5 This comes with three pieces but you can order a plate of three in the same kinds: meat, za'atar spice, and cheese. The za'atar one had that unique flavor--thyme, sumac, sesame seeds. The cheese flatbread came out hot and stretchy with three cheeses melted together. The meat one had minced beef and vegetables on a thin crust with slightly crispy edges. This one really impressed me. Lamb Kabob Platter ($19) - 4/5 Ground lamb mixed with onion and spices and grilled. The texture was fairly firm and the seasoning was pretty strong--you mostly taste the spices rather than the lamb itself. It comes with grilled tomato and onion, which adds a nice bit of sweetness and balances things out. It also comes with 2 sides--we chose baba ghanouj and hummus. The sides portion is really generous. Mixed Grill Combination ($23) - 4.5/5 It includes beef tenderloin, kafta skewers, and chicken shish tawook. The beef had a nice smoky grill flavor and was quite tender. The kafta had the strongest seasoning, and the chicken ended up being the lightest and juiciest of the three. It also comes with 2 sides--we chose baba ghanouj and salad. House dessert (pistachio pastry, $6) - 4/5 Looks pretty simple, but inside there's pistachio filling that gives it a really nice nutty sweetness. Not overly sugary, which I liked. I hope it could improve its appearance a bit. The food felt comforting and homey rather than fancy, and the portions were generous for the price.

I absolutely love the vibe of this place--it's definitely a high-end Mediterranean restaurant, perfect for special occasions. What really stood out was how beautifully everyone was dressed; it added to the upscale, elegant atmosphere of the entire space. The restaurant offers both indoor seating and a beautiful outdoor seating area, which really elevates the overall experience. The outdoor space, in particular, adds to the charm and makes it a great spot for a relaxed yet upscale evening. Since reservations weren't available, we decided to arrive early, expecting a long wait. Luckily, being a Sunday evening, it wasn't too crowded, and we were seated within about 20 minutes. For drinks, I ordered a Tender Robot Hazy IPA, while my husband went with the Verdant Mai Tai. I was a bit disappointed to learn they only serve canned beer and don't offer draft options, as I personally prefer draft beer and am not a big fan of cocktails, which tend to be too sweet for my taste. For the main course, I had the Heirloom Chicken Thighs, and my husband ordered the Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes. Both dishes were cooked to perfection--flavorful, well-seasoned, and the meat was incredibly tender. That said, the portion sizes felt a bit small considering the price point. We ended the meal with the Sticky Date Cake, and it was hands down the best I've ever had--rich, perfectly balanced, and absolutely delicious. Overall, we had a great experience. Between the beautiful ambiance, flavorful food, and exceptional service, it's a place I'd definitely return to. I'm giving it 4 stars mainly because of the lack of draft beer and the smaller portion sizes for the price, but it's still a fantastic spot worth visiting.

I decided to order a mini Persian feast: the beef koobideh with rice, doogh yogurt drink, and a saffron ice cream for dessert. This was my first time trying beef koobideh, and unfortunately, this just didn't seem to be very good. The meat itself was okay, decently cooked, and topped with quite a lot of some spice that I can't quite put my finger on. It was okay. The rice though, that is what really disappointed me. Persian rice is usually amazing, but this really didn't seem traditional and it had a strange taste to it. It also came with onion and a grilled tomato, both solid additions. Good portion though. The doogh yogurt drink wasn't homemade like I had hoped, but in all honesty, it still really hit the spot on a hot Austin day. Reasonable price. The saffron rice was also fairly disappointing. Large white chunks (clotted cream maybe? But they were pretty tasteless), gritty texture, not much flavor. Just not really worth it. All in all, a bit of a disappointing dinner in Austin. I'll have to look for a different Persian spot next time I'm in the area.
