I love the option to have the bread sliced thinly so you don't have to overdo it on the bread to topping ratio. I love the sauce options and the toppings. The pickle was surprisingly massive and I appreciate them cutting it into 4 slices or else that would be nearly impossible lol. I'm from Chicago and went to high school near the first Potbelly's where going for lunch required prior coordination and planning, which is a hard thing to do for high schoolers. I preface my review with that because when I moved to Austin and saw there were Potbelly's around it put me at ease. I realize at this point that they're almost coast-to-coast; they were even in Irvine but went away in a blink. The floor plans change but the layout is pretty much like the OG. Nostalgia aside I've been to some pretty crappy Potbelly's where they mess up orders, have no idea of the Potbelly's lingo and slow. The one here is near UT's campus so it's staffed with pretty disinterested folks and were pretty checked out. To start of the location and the atmosphere of this place is great! They even have some books shelf with some books for customers to grad while they are visitn(not to take)The price is fair as well. I like that they have a variety of sandwiches, drinks, chips and cookies. However, the sandwich that I choose was not the best for my taste. It included a sauce that I have never tried and it ruin the taste for me. The bread is great and I'm upset that the sauce ruin the food for me but I will definitely be back to try a different bread. Great sandwiches. I love the hot pepper mix. You can even buy their mix in jars for rather cheap. They have a great selection of soups, my favorites being the chili and broccoli and cheddar. Their regular sandwiches are nothing special, but their premiums are very good. My personal favorite is the prime rib. It has a lot of meat and is very filling! It is a little pricey, however, with big premiums running you after tax. If you like sandwiches will like this place. I ordered a chicken salad "skinny" and there was hardly any filling. I liked the taste of it. They forgot to put cheese on it. I also ordered chicken pot pie soup-this was good, would order again. The cashier girl was a bit arrogant. She half way filed up my soup and proceeded to start waiting on other people behind me, ignoring the half filled soup behind her. While the mayo and 'everything' else that I usually put on my sandwich may not be the most healthy lunch on the planet, but I never said I go there to lose weight or anything. The breaded chicken is my absolute favorite. It seems to be a new thing so I don't know if it'll be there forever but the way they wrapped those gourmet chicken with bread is just fabulous. The young man that was working the front tonight did not seem happy to be there. I arrive 20 mins before closing. 3 other people were in front of me. I understood it would be a moment before he got to me and I patiently waited. He seemed irritated as he asked me different questions about the sandwich but could barely hear him and had to asked him to repeat it a few times. Then requested the new seasonal shake. He told me once again because they were closing in 3 mins now that they were not serving shakes because they cleaned the blender already and pointed to them. I told him the whole reason I was there was for the salad and shake. Neither of those I was a getting so I left everything there and walked out. I was not planning on dining in as I was only there for take out but can only imagine what his response would be if I would've dined there. Very unprofessional. I'm a GM at a local restaurant and would have been very unhappy if one of my employees responded in this manner to a hungry customer.
