I ordered the Chopped Salad to go and I added chicken. The salad was amazing. It has organic mixed greens, white cheddar cheese, farro, dates, jicama, organic apple, raisins, almonds, and it's served with a champagne vinaigrette. The chicken was juicy and tender. True food kitchen is a pretty good spot for brunch. I got an almond milk latte and the avocado toast. The avocado toast was very fresh- but spicy! I wasn't expecting the kick. The little salad that came with it was very good- I enjoyed the cucumbers and the dressing a lot. My latte was average. They don't offer syrups or other milk alternatives- they just have the almond milk. The service was good and they gave a little gift to all the mothers for Mother's Day which I thought was darling. We parked in the garage under the Trader Joe's and there is also some street parking in the area. read more

I used to frequent this chain when I lived in Chicago. They always have really good food and healthy options unlike most restaurants. I truly enjoyed the sparkling prickly pear tisane and my friend enjoyed the O.G., although it was quite heavy on the ginger. The TrueTrio lunch looked like a great deal at $19.95 for 3 items, but we decided to go for the lasagne al pesto and poke bowl. I can't ever eat bolognese at any establishment besides True Foods because it is made with pork and True makes their dish with turkey. The poke bowl, while a little light was delicious and the fish tasted fresh. To top off our meal, we had warm chocolate chip cookies. My wife and I stopped in for lunch today after walking the trail downtown. It had been a while since our last visit, but wow! The food was fantastic! We ordered the Mediterranean Breakfast Bowl, Brussels Sprouts, and my wife had an espresso martini. The bowl was incredible. All the savory flavors were pouring out of the bowl. The eggs were cooked perfectly and the tzatziki sauce was a great addition to the pickled radish, onions, chickpeas and snappeas. The Brussels sprouts were so good as well. There's like a garlic chili sauce they put on it that was amazing. We'd definitely order both items again. Service was great. We sat bar-top. We had an absolutely amazing experience. We came here for lunch with my two boys and my parents, and I was not disappointed. The service was incredible, and the food was amazing. I had the teriyaki chicken bowl with quinoa, which I devoured completely, and the boys shared the pizza, which was plenty for a 4- and 3-year-old. I went to True Food Kitchen for the first time in a while today and I thought it was very yummy! We were hungry before getting our groceries at Trader Joes and thought why not grab a bite nearby. I ordered the korean noodle bowl and my boyfriend got the all american burger. I thought both dishes were very tasty. I love glass noodles and I thought this one was pretty good. I did add some hot sauce on top to give it a little more flavor. I really liked the burger though, it was very juicy and flavorful. Our waitress was really nice and appeared at just the right times. I frequent the True Food kitchen in Houston and I know Austin in itself has a different vibe but this location looked stressed, overworked, and underpaid! We walked in and sat at the bar. The bartender looked at us two or three times before she actually acknowledged us which I thought was a little rude. There were only two other people at the bar. Maybe she was the only bartender but a "Hi, one minute," goes a long way. We told her we were placing a to go order and she said that there was a designated area. We ordered the meatloaf slider appetizer and a pesto pasta w grilled chicken. No drinks or anything else. It was about $45 and took a little over an hour. It seems like they serve a lot of DoorDash orders, but that was a little longer than we expected. There was no real "hospitality," it was like, "Here. Thanks. Bye." Even when the restaurant has had more waitstaff than guests, it has still taken 15 minutes just to get water, let alone have my order taken. Unfortunately, after several failed attempts, I'm forced to write off the Austin TFK as a dining option. The service is mediocre, the food is tiny portions, the matcha latte has no flavors of actual matcha, prices are super high (which is fine if you're delivering a good satisfying product at least). I like their farm to table concept and in their use of mostly organic ingredients, there's a lot that's going for this restaurant. But lately, I'm not happy with the recent changes to the menu. Their prices have certainly gone up significantly and I can see how shrinkflation is at play at this restaurant. Also, by adding ingredients such as eggs to some of their popular dishes, to be modified to be made vegan, and surcharging for tofu is too much math to calculate only to over pay - for a bowl of Thai noodles, at $25. The service is fine, of course. The ambiance is good too but I'm rethinking this concept at this time, especially with these modifications. read more

There's great space between tables and it has a modern touch to it all around. There is also patio seating for the warmer months. Service: Our server was very kind and attentive. She brought our items in good time and did not take long to take our order or anything. Food: Our friends who were visiting were looking for a restaurant with "healthier options," given we had eaten so "bad" for the rest of the weekend. We found True Food Kitchen to have some great and fresh options on their menu--it ended up being a perfect choice. I ordered the "Grass-fed Steak Breakfast Burrito" off of their brunch menu. The burrito was a good size, not too big, not too small, and had scrambled eggs, Anasazi bean, steak, salsa verde and cilantro inside. It had great flavoring and the steak was tender. It came with a side of beans that had cheese and cilantro on top of it, also flavorful. Despite both being flavorful, it was good, but not amazing.
