Beautiful spot! A bit of a drive from me but I made it out for a happy hour with some girl friends. We ordered drinks and most of the happy hour bites (pescatarian friendly), and a few other shareables. We were there early on Labor Day, so not many tables were filled until later at night. Service was a bit slow and it was hard to flag down someone when we were hungry and ready! The food came out quickly once we ordered. Because of my friend being pescatarian, we leaned into the veggie and seafood forward dishes. This included the tuna tartare, salmon flatbread, and ceviche tostada. Everything was refreshing but the ceviche was far too minty for me. There was also some unexpected heat from the tuna tartare which has some jalepenos in it. I liked the salmon flatbread the most. Smoked corn was good. Hummus was okay for me, I think I was hoping the pita would be fluffier but it was quite subpar. I liked the baked brie which came with pastry puffs. We didn't get to try the dessert; the one we wanted was not possible due to their soft serve machine going down!
I visited Oria this weekend during brunch, and as much as I would love to give it five stars, it is incredibly disappointing to enter a Mediterranean restaurant and have 80% of the menu be meat-oriented. Sorry, but a fatoush salad is not enough to count as an entrée. Mediterranean cuisine is one of my favorites BECAUSE it is so easy to cater to vegetarian palettes. Falafel saves the day in so many ways, chickpeas are the essential proteins...but it did not seem that way on Oria's brunch menu. Sure there were some egg dishes, but I can get that at any brunch place in Austin and not my ideal dish at a Mediterranean restaurant. Because of the lack of options, I ended up eating a bread-heavy appetizer. The flatbread with a sweet honey butter, and the beet hummus dip that also came with quartered pita bread. Don't get me wrong, I love bread, but if everyone else gets to choose from 10 entrees, I would like to at least get to choose from 3 decent vegetarian ones. I ended up having the fatoush salad as my entrée, and it was alright. The ambiance was beautiful and the staff were super friendly. I'm just incredible disappointed in the menu. Not too excited to come back until heavy changes are made to it...
Some time to think I'm updating my reservation to only three stars and I have to be honest. I don't think I'll be back. There are lots of other great places in Austin and this vibe is just a bit ramshackle. It's too bad because that area is kind of a restaurant desert. There's nowhere good nearby. -------------------- Previous review: We had a reservation, which I highly recommend as there did not appear to be spaced for walk-ins. Indoor seating is a little bit of a mixed bag and I would recommend enjoying your food and drinks on the patio if possible. That is definitely the vibe, but you have to specify that in your reservation if that's your desire. The highlight of the meal was absolutely the basque cheesecake... absolute perfection. The starters and mains were all good enough but nothing super memorable the way the dessert was. Carrots were excellent but came out a bit lukewarm instead of hot. The feta dip was good - very different from Aba which is still my favorite. The only thing ! definitely would not recommend is been carpaccio, it was much more thick than I'm used to, more like raw sliced roast beef. Cocktails were great.
Thursday night dinner reservation for 6:45. They provide complimentary parking in the garage behind and getting here was fun. This isn't easy to see from the road so I passed by initially and had to U-turn. Easy parking in the garage behind and the steps lead directly to the front of the restaurant. The pizza oven with the fresh pita is right up front so you get a love welcoming smell. The patio looked amazing and sorta wish it wasn't so dang hot to sit and enjoy it. Initially had a table but sat at the bar instead. The team was attentive and overall very pleasant. Started with the wood fired fresh pita with a mustard honey butter (to die for...sooo yummy), and got the artichoke and goat cheese spread which was def artichoke forward, not my favorite item. And the braised lamb shank for main entree. Here's where I really need to ask questions/google stuff. Wasn't sure what the 'moorish spice hi' was and should have asked. The flavor was very strong and a bit overwhelming. When I searched I think the issue was the coriander which is also known for its leaves aka cilantro. Barf The lamb was cooked well, fall off the bone and polenta also good w/o the sauce. Overall good experience and I'd go back, especially in the fall to sit on the patio.
What a let down. Lots of excitement around this place on Instagram, but the place did not live up to the hype on Father's Day. We ordered a number of dishes (octopus, pita, halibut, scallops, etc.) which were heavily sauced, but overall really good. The date old-fashioned & Smoke House were balanced. The front of the house is where they could use a lot of work. The handful of interactions we had were dismal. It was shocking. On top of the service there so many flies surrounding our table inside.
Beautiful venue, okay service. My husband and I came on a Sunday afternoon for a late lunch. The restaurant is vibey, with a boho theme patio. Indoor seating is decorated with plants and gold accents. We ordered a hummus, shashuka, a burger and frozen yogurt to share. The burger was very under done and the frozen yogurt was more like vanilla ice cream. They gave us a new burger, but it was strange it was very under cooked before. Overall I would come for the vibes but maybe not the food
Came on a Saturday for brunch; reservation was easy to make on Resy with a lot of availability still as I think this is still a pretty new restaurant. The location is right off Barton springs where the old Austin eastciders was. The garage is free for patrons so easy to get to and access. Ambiance inside is really nice, bohemian tropical / Greek island interior. Service is solid and the overall place is great for a nicer time out with friends. Dishes are portioned for sharing which is great since there are such a variety of options and flavors. We ordered the Oria Labneh (10/10) and Lamb Kefta (10/10) along with some pita. Left feeling satisfied enough but not stuffed. Expect a higher price point overall but a good time overall if you're willing to pay up a little.
What a wonderful spot for a date night! Went here last night and had a fabulous time. The ambiance is great with stunning decor. The staff were super friendly and helpful throughout the evening and the food is amazing! A highlight for me was the perfectly cooked scallops and the tostada on happy hour but everything was delicious.
Stunning new Middle Eastern restaurant in South Austin! Breathtaking patio with Demi covered seating, beautifully designed, a total vibe. Definitely sit outside if you can / weather permits! They even have mist fans going to provide relief on hot summer days. Once seated we ordered a few appetizers to share. Please note that this restaurant has no vegetarian main dishes at all. They said that they are working on this, but as of now not very vegetarian friendly. 1. Sourdough Pita - 10/10. Epic flavor served with a unique smoked mustard seed honey butter spread that complemented it beautifully. 2. Artichoke & goat cheese spread - 6/10. Not my favorite menu item. I'd recommend trying a different spread. 3. Scorched corn - 5/10. Not flavorful and corn was undercooked. 4. Glazed carrots and feta - 9/10, very delicious! The best part of the meal was the Greek frozen yogurt with honeycomb topping. Absolutely loved it! Worth a visit for the ambiance and excellent service. Just know that food can be a hit or miss, so read reviews and select carefully!
Worth the hype... the drinks were strong and each dish was flavorful and well done. The Moroccan tagine tasted good but was very, very far from anything anyone outside of that space would ever call a tagine (there was rice in the middle, surrounded by beef or lamb and topped by arugula - shnu hada???). The cheese cake was my absolute favorite and that's saying a lot for someone who doesn't care for desserts. I would definitely go again and highly recommend it - just think twice about anything Moroccan.
Oria was nice, but not a standout among the many elevated Mediterranean concepts in Austin. Most dishes were very good, but nothing really stood out as excellent, and certain ones were a bit lacking. Our favorites were the roasted artichoke and goat cheese, the sourdough pita, and the basque cheesecake. But some of the other dishes, even those highlighted in the menu, were a bit lacking. The fire roasted sea bass for example was more bone than fish, and not very flavorful. But my biggest criticism is probably portion size: after 9 dishes plus drinks split between 6 people, I left a bit hungry! Even their "medium" and main plates are not very large. I have to give them credit for the wonderful job they did with the decor and exterior of the restaurant- I've visited 3 different restaurants in this same location over the last 5 years and Oria has made the space its own. It's a nice spot for a nice dinner, just not the best dinner you'll ever have!
For our last night in Austin, we had dinner at Oria. It's a new Mediterranean restaurant. It feels like we walked into like a Mediterranean garden. The patio and dining area was so beautiful. Every dish we got was so tasty. My favorite was the fire roasted whole sea bass! It was so tender and flavorful. We also got the wood fire sour dough pita. They sell it individually though so we just split it for us to try. And they have just regular soft pita with the other sides. We also had the tuna tartare, hummus, olives, and agean prawns. We literally devoured it all so fast, it was so quiet while we were eating lol. For entrees we got the sea bass, seared scallops, butcher steak and chicken skewer. There wasn't much scallops in the plate it was more pork belly which was pretty good. Butcher steak was tender. The chicken skewer wasn't my favorite. It was dry and lacked flavor. The drinks were so yummy! I got the garden gimlet and it was so good I got 2 orders After our meal we ordered the dark chocolate mousse and basque cheesecake. Both were very delicious! Not too sweet! We were celebrating my friends bday too and they gave her sorbet with candles which was super cute! Overall this restaurant was def worth it. The ambiance and food were great! Our waitress was amazing. Rebeca was so attentive and kind. She was so accommodating and made sure we had everything we needed. The patio area was so cute but the weather was not it so I'm glad we got an inside seat! The inside is just as beautiful! But def make a reservation and check out this new restaurant!
Oria on Barton Springs Road was such a beautiful surprise. The atmosphere is lush, horticultural, and effortlessly blends indoor and outdoor spaces into what feels like a modern garden retreat. Every detail feels thoughtfully curated -- warm, stylish, and relaxing all at once. The appetizers alone completely satisfied us. Everything felt fresh, elevated, and perfect for sharing during happy hour. The wood-fire oven baked brie was incredible, and the entire menu had such a unique Mediterranean-inspired feel. Pair that with creative cocktails and a gorgeous ambiance, and it easily became one of my favorite spots in Austin for a relaxed evening out.

Saw the patio and was excited to try this spot! Showed up on a Sunday afternoon just after a sunshower (an absolute downpour) had passed through. With the patio now cute & soggy we opted for bar seats. Decor indoor and outdoor is so cute, ambiance was right on. Picked a few different items from the menu to share as a meal, and everything looked so delicious it was hard to choose. As someone who doesn't eat land animals there was still a really good amount of options. Miles & Olas took care of us to an exemplary standard, professional and very fun! They made delicious cocktails & were a joy to chat with. Highkey skip whatever the regular pita is (unless you enjoy cardboard) and get the wood fired pita. Glazed carrots and artichoke/goat cheese spread , both are melt your face off good! A Hugo spritz is always good, & the Golden hour spritz also slaps. read more
The worst hummus we've ever had. Wondering if there was gum in their recipe because it had a gooey consistency. It looked so pretty but it was very odd and unlike any hummus we've had anywhere in the world! We took it home and let it sit overnight hoping it would get better but it was the same. See video! The scallop dish was overcooked & tasteless, and the corn was so vinegar heavy (sour). The short rib was okay but not worth going back for. Service was great and the place is pretty, but the dishes fell flat We do love the sourdough pita which they sell coz the pita that comes with the hummus is like thin cardboard! We liked the hamachi appetizer too. Warning: You will smell like smoke if you sit in their patio area! read more

They first sat us down at a place where it was loud and the table was small but they were able to move us to a more quieter place which I appreciated. The food was good but the carrots were cold? Idk if it was suppose to actually be like that but the sauce for the carrots was fantastic so good! And don't even get me started on the ambience stunning especially the outside when the sunset started so beautiful but the bathroom is all gender? Which is a no for me read more
We had an early dinner at Oria on Sunday evening. We got there a bit early but they were able to seat us while we waited for the third in our party. The patio is beautiful and we were seated at a table at the second level of the patio. It was beautifully decorated inside and out. I wasn't feeling up to par so I took just a few bites of each items we ordered and the two others in our party ate the rest. We had very little left after ordering several items. Everything was tasty and well presented. Because one of my friends is gluten free we had some confusion on a couple of orders but everything turned out well. A huge plus was free parking in the garage behind the restaurant so we didn't have to circle forever, but that could have also been because we were there early on a Sunday. ;-) We also ordered cocktails and a mocktail. The mezcal drink was lovely and they modified mine to bring syrup on the side since I minimize sugar/sweets. That said, the cheesecake was delicious and was one of the rare gluten free cheesecakes so my gluten free friend was able to eat it when she normally can't order cheesecakes! I look forward to going back here again when I can eat bigger portions of the items. read more

Pretty happy with this place. New restaurants are always so hit or miss in ATX. Great service and good food. Artichoke and goat cheese is awesome! Get the charred pita - it's significantly denser than the regular pita and makes for a great dipper. Charred octopus is really good. Papas bravas on the side are as well. I really liked the lamb kefta as well. Great flavor and perfectly cooked. Reservations are highly recommended. read more

Headed their food a ladies night out during the week. Traffic was insane!! Parking in the lot behind the building was super tight. Lots of cars parked in areas that wasn't for parking. Los of spots, but most was filled. Ambiance of Oria is great. Service was friendly. The food was delicious!! The start of the night was the honey carrots. More please! Can't wait to go back and try more. read more

Beware of the parking trap! Oria's main parking lot was completely full, so we checked their website, which explicitly directs guests to 'Additional parking available at: 300 S Lamar Blvd.' We followed their instructions and parked there. What they don't tell you on the website is that this lot charges astronomical, predatory rates. After we parked and finished our meal, we asked for validation and were told they don't validate. By then, it was too late--we were hit with a shocking $68 fee for just two hours of parking! When I emailed management to warn them that they are directing guests to a $68 parking trap, they were completely dismissive, stating they don't own the lot and taking zero responsibility for misleading their customers. It is incredibly bad hospitality to recommend an unvetted, exorbitant parking garage on your official website and leave your guests to foot the bill. Check where you park before coming here. read more
We stopped in to Oria to check out the vibe. What a beautiful spot with relaxing outdoor seating and indoor dining and bar. It looks like they will eventually have an outdoor bar open as well. The staff were all very friendly and the bartenders were nice and gave recommendations. I had a very refreshing golden hour spritz and we tried the smokehouse with Mezcal. Both drinks were fabulous. We wanted a little snack, but we missed happy hour sadly. This time we tried their himachi. I thought it was pretty good, but it needed something like a chip to eat it with. We definitely will be coming back to try their happy hour and sit on their beautiful patio in the evening time! read more

Came with my friends for a girls night and sat outside! The space is beautiful and really felt like you were on vacation somewhere. The food was really good too and more of a tapas style. Our server was absolutely a doll and took great care of us! read more

I'm writing this review from my table at Aba on South Congress because my wife and I quickly left Oria. It was a combination of poor service, a waitress whose enunciation was so poor and spoke so fast that we couldn't understand anything, and lack of warm drink options (no coffee, no hot tea, no soup). Then came the appetizer and while the baba ganoush was okay, the olives were really not great and the bread underwhelming. This is no Aba... It's too bad because the interior decoration is cute and this could be a nice experience. The last straw is when we told the waitress we would stop at the appetizer, she grabbed the baba ganoush plate my wife was finishing and left the olives but made sure we had no more utensils to grab them. read more
WOW beautiful new spot! My friend and I made reservations for an early dinner on a Friday. The patio is stunning - definitely does not feel like you are on Barton Springs road. We both started with a golden hour spritz. Similar to an aperol spritz, but with strawberry infused aperol and blood orange. SO refreshing and served in a big goblet. We shared the baba ganoush with pita that came with it, hamachi, and prawns. We skipped the wood fired pita since the baba came with one, but I would like to try that next time. Everything was so good. The hamachi was a highlight. Small portions - we would both order more next time. They asked us to place our full order at once and they would course it out. It's new so I will be back to try again, but definitely seems like they're still working out some kinks! We sat on the patio and the vibe is great- very clean and good layout. We had dinner and it was still HOT, so I think I'd avoid outdoor seating as it gets hotter. I would also love to see more fly fans and fans in general. A lot of the greenery was fake, which didn't seem in line with the higher menu price points. Our server was great about checking in even though it was busy, but we did have a couple items that needed to be re-requested after they didn't arrive (extra pita, a glass of ice, etc). We also had 8 drinks between the group, and 2 were sent back and remade. Again- it's a new spot, and the drinks made correctly were very good! For food- the wood fired pita was the winner! In retrospect, I'll try the whipped feta instead of the artichoke dip next time, which actually had minimal artichoke. The octopus was also really good but beware of spice! I got a steak as my main and ordered it medium/medium rare, but it definitely came out rare. We got the lemon tart for dessert and again it was fine, but seemed either unfinished or just rushed. Overall I look forward to trying again and will aim for indoor seating and some different menu items. read more

Beautiful restaurant with delicious mediterranean fare. We had the hummus, the octopus, the ceviche, a tuna tostada and the naan. Sooooo good and the service was also excellent! So excited to take my whole family there tomorrow night! read more
First of all.. this "4/5 review" is a bit harsh.. right when you walk in.. all smiles.. every employee is above and beyond accommodating.. I brought my 3 pups and our server, Alicia, was a gem! The prices are very fair.. the ambiance makes you feel as if you're in the Mediterranean (minus the Texas heat). No wait to get a table.. but that will change, mark my words.. The food.. on point! You'll leave satisfied and happy.. highly recommended! read more

Reading all of these 5 star reviews just adds to my general perception that many are not genuine or at least manipulated. Nevertheless, we had dinner here last night. It was definitely busy with a lot of stylish diners out for the night. The place is really pretty, especially the outside patio where we sat. Unfortunately, our 7PM reservation didn't have us seated until 7:30. That's alright as they were slammed, but it seemed chaotic with the front of the house scrambling. We ordered drinks which were excellent - especially the smoke house (tequila blanco, mezcal, agave and lime). We ordered the wood fired pita, humus and hamachi starters. The hamachi was the standout with coconut, green harissa, and watermelon. Next was the chicken kabob which was tasty enough. For entrees we ordered the halibut and the scallops. The halibut was a bit dry which was disappointing as it was recommended. The scallops were small and unevenly cooked. The advertised pork belly accompaniment was barely noticeable. Overall the meal was good but not great. For the price point I expected the portions to be larger and a little more thought through. read more
