Parking I'd recommend by Coco's cafe on street or behind the Target or down the road in the alleys and walking. Great place when you want to eat out, especially in the evening time. Organized as a kiosk in the corner of the building they do have Wagyu-style burgers and I ended up having the biggest one without the bun! Stopped in here while staying nearby for business. A quick glance at the posted menu I went for the veggie burger. I ordered and it took about 5 minutes for my order to be ready. Veggie burger in hand off I went. The burger was very good. The bun was lacking in much texture (probably part of the appeal) and it's certainly not health food. What a solid little hole in the wall right by our hotel. We stopped by before going to a comedy show and I was pleasantly surprised. The burgers are smash burgers that pack a lot of flavor and cooked perfectly. The sauce they put on top is interesting but goes well with the burger. They have string cut fries they are really good and you get a ton of them. The had two employees working and they were awesome. Very friendly and answered our questions. As Kenji Lopez-Alt would say: Now that is a tasty burger. I mean seriously. It was tasty. It's gotta be one of the top 3-5 burgers I've had in my life. Granted, it was a wagyu burger. And the meat was from some super authentic farm in Wyoming. So maybe it's not fair to compare it to other burgers I've got because it's not apples-to-apples. On the other hand, maybe it is! If they went out of their way to get a different type of meat and it makes the burger better, good for them! Anyway, yeah, the meat was just amazing. Juicy and meaty are the two words that come to mind. It had the right amount of salt. A little charred flavor, a hint of smokiness. But juicy and meaty are really the big ones. The cheese was also great. It too had some sort of a bit intense umami vibe to it. A slight bit tangy too. And the bun was toasted (and buttered?) just the right amount. The fries were and chicken tenders were just ok. Not on the same level as the burger. The fries had a solid crisp to them, but didn't have that sorta fresh potato flavor that I look for. Y'know what I mean? Sometimes you can taste the potato, and it's a little soft and light on the inside. And other times you can just taste the fried oily crispy stuff, like at McDonalds. These were the latter, but that's ok. The chicken tenders were fine. I would have liked more of a juicy, meaty, chicken-y bite to em, but they were still better than most places. And the ranch was fine, nothing special. A little light on flavor. All of this talk about fries and chicken is really moot though. Who cares?!?! You're here for the BURGER! Loved the smash burger and special sauce. Their fries are great and flavorful. I only wish they stored them in a different container because the top quarter of them were incredible and after that they were soggy as all heck. Next time, gotta dump them out right away to avoid that. I like that they offer wagyu, though we just had the regular, but that's a cool feature. Overall great burger. Definitely get this one if you had to choose between the two! ($5.75!) - 4.75/5 - Queso Cheese Fries: it ain't a burger/sandwich without fries and honestly, just pay 65¢ more and get the queso blanco - you'll thank me later. An amazing price for queso fries too! ($3.50) - 4.25/5 - Shakes: they got the classic flavors and then a shake of the month. Strawberry is a no-brainer for the classics, highly refreshing on a hot day. (3.75/5) The shake of the month when I went was horchata and DAMN this should be a permanent flavor tbh! So flavorful! We go here pretty often so it's good. It's not a sit down restaurant but they have an area you can eat and stand if you want to. We often take away their burgers. My only issue is that if one person order waygu and the other orders a regular burger, they don't mark the containers so you can't tell the difference. Pretty good for a quick lunch. Just walk up to the counter and place your order. The staff is friendly and they'll get your order out quick. My biggest complaint is they don't have any seating whatsoever. You just stand at one of two tables on the sidewalk. This would be miserable in the Texas summer. Luckily, I stopped by when the weather was nice. My bacon cheeseburger was really juicy and tasty. One of the best fast-food burgers I've had. The fries were crispy and almost addicting. The queso sauce on the side was eh: not strong enough and looked artificial. The chocolate/vanilla shake was okay: not my favorite flavor and not filled up all the way, but it had a nice thick consistency. Tip: dip the fries in the shake (trust me, it's better). I've heard Burger Bar really hyped up, but I wasn't impressed. This is a convenient takeaway counter attached to the Otis Hotel near campus. The wait time can get pretty long, so I recommend ordering online ahead for pickup. I've had their hamburger and crispy chicken sandwich. The hamburger was so small and scanty. The chicken sand which was good! Very filling and I really enjoyed how crispy the chicken was. I did take once star off for service. It was one other guest and me who ordered and it took awhile and the cooks kept getting our orders confused. They seemed upset and like there was some miscommunication going on between them. My group got to-go, and I'm not sure how I would've enjoyed eating there. The burger was pretty yummy. I liked the potato roll (?) which was soft and slightly sweet. I was really excited to hear there was a Burger Bar coming to the campus area and couldn't resist signing up for their preview today. Despite today being a preview, they were filling a good amount of orders very quickly. The staff was extremely pleasant, and the food was fresh. It's a really great alternative to the normal fast food in the area. The vanilla milkshake was the perfect shake consistency: not too think or thin. The burger, though I only ordered a single patty, was super filling and the side of fries was more than enough(also not too salty!). I can't wait to go back and give their Wagyu burger a shot! My only tip is if you're bringing children, I would advise just picking up your order and eating elsewhere. The location is right off a very busy road. It might be a good idea for Burger Bar to consider some sort of sturdy partition between the sidewalk tables and traffic. read more

Reasonably priced burgers that are tasty! I never really realized that there weren't more gourmet burgers near campus and burger bar is exactly there! Service was extremely quick and although we had a big order, they got everything correct so I am thoroughly impressed! There is no indoor seating or seats but there are tables outdoors to allow you to eat. I would just recommend taking it to go and eating somewhere else because this restaurant is on the side on MLK street which is insanely busy. Definitely not suitable for children. The Burger Bar is back - operating Wednesday - Sunday for now. Ordered Wagyu single hamburger. The beef had great flavor, but in my view was not worth the $4 upcharge. French fries were just out of the fryer and were the hit of the order. $2.75 was a steep price, but they give you a lot. Order was prepared promptly. There is no free parking available - and will get worse when UT fully reopens. It is a nice asset for pedestrians in the area. Two high-top tables are anchored right next to MLK Blvd. for those who wish to stand and eat. Definitely not for children. Otherwise everything is to-go. For some reason they give you an oversized shopping bag with handles to carry away your order. read more

The new Burger Bar Campus is awesome!! I went two days in a row to check out what they had, just prior to their closing during the pandemic, and I'm anxiously waiting for them to open back up!! The burger and fries were dirty, but SO delicious! The staff is amazing, and they are happy to offer recommendations. I went back for their breakfast tacos and was quite happy I did! The location can be a little tricky to get to, I suggest parking behind the Dominos in the alley way, for quick in and out service! I was originally going to give this place a 3 star because the food was a bit overpriced and it wasn't anything too special, but the cashier was really friendly and the food came out really quick. I got the wagyu single cheeseburger, but I think it was an unnecessary use of wagyu. It didn't really add anything to the taste besides a bit more oily flavor. I tried my girlfriends regular cheeseburger and I preferred that more honestly. Seeing as the wagyu costs $9 compared to the $6 of the regular, I wouldn't say it was worth the cost. The regular is really good though! The fries were nice and crispy but also kind of small given the $2.50 price tag. I think the $8 happy hour deal is pretty good value though, and the bun of the burger was a super yummy potato roll reminiscent of shake shack! For the price it is not worth it at all. Ordered to go and the wrapping it came in for the burger was half opened and the fries weren't covered at all. The 5 minute walk to my apartment wasn't even close enough to keep the food warm. I got a regular double bacon cheese burger and the meat tasted very bland, some of it was still pink while other parts were very cooked. The patty was way too big for the bun, which I would normally not complain about but it was just way too much meat for the amount of bun there was. The fries werent anything special, especially for the price of the fries. The shake was probably the only good thing there and even then it was so thick it was annoying to try to drink it. I also tried my friend's wagyu burger and it did not taste 4 dollars better than a regular patty. Nowhere near being worth the price. I'd pay maybe 25 cents more for it. That being said it really makes me question the quality of the meat. To end this, I highly recommend anyone who wants to try this place to go to in n out instead for a cheaper meal that will taste better and not hurt the bank. read more

I wasn't impressed with this overpriced food ($12 Double Bacon Cheeseburger and Fries). Cold fries and burger. Seems like the meat patties are precooked and placed under a heat lamp. So expect to eat a dried meat Patty. Food is not placed in covered food containers or foil. Fries are placed on an open container and burger half wrapped. Both food items are placed in a large paper bag so your food won't stay hot and open to insects, dust or other airborne items. I threw the fries away as cold fries are horrible to eat. P.Terry's is nearby (half a block away), so go there. Co-workers asked about the place. We did not recommend this burger joint. I was recommended the queso fries and the shake of the month, which was chocolate sea salt caramel. Total of $25 with tip. Burger: really good. Tasted great. Nothing bad about it. I would suggest less paper around the burger to hold it. Fries: kind of bland. Queso was just like queso you would get at Chipotle. So it's fine, but it's not incredible. Shake: honestly it was just salt with a touch of chocolate. Didn't even taste the caramel. Price: I think the burger is properly priced but everything else not so much.
