I live in Queens so I'm probably at the Vernon location the most. Never had anything below great food & service there. After every Nets game I'd walk to the Flatbush Ave location and it's always a great time. And when in Williamsburg I love the Soulful Sundays and all around DJ days at this location. Again you can't go wrong. My fiancé and I loved it so much we took some of our engagement photos at the one in Queens haha. I will say I miss the scan & order from your table days. I actually preferred the limited interactions and just handling your bill right there. And if you needed to order something else just scan again without having to hunt someone down. I went to the LA location of Sweet Chick earlier this year, but wanted to see how the Williamsburg location compared. To be honest, I was almost deterred by the wait. We arrived at 1:45 on a Saturday and thought we'd beat the brunch rush but we were sorely mistaken. We were told it would probably be close to 45 minutes before we could get seated. After much deliberation, we put our name and number on the wait list and walked around the neighborhood to kill time. Almost an hour later, we finally got a text saying our table was ready. We checked back in with the host, who told us to wait outside and he would call us when the table was ready. So then we waited...again. Another 10 minutes passed before we were actually seated. The restaurant is really small, with one long table with benches in the middle (be prepared to sit next to strangers if you get seated here) and several small tables and a bar surrounding it. The benches weren't my favorite layout as it can sometimes be a little awkward/difficult to climb in and out if you're not on the end, but the food more than made up for it. We both ordered the chicken and waffles and they were amazing. The waffles were so light and crispy and I honestly could have just eaten them plain. I was intrigued by types of butter though, so I had to try each of them to see how they would complement the waffle. There were three flavors and I'm struggling to remember them now but I believe they were berry, lemon and basil. They were all good in their own way, but I think the basil was the best because of the sweet and savory mix. The fried chicken was delightfully light and crispy and the meat was tender and juicy. Some of the best fried chicken I've had (and actually significantly better than I remember the LA location's chicken). They were so good and I like that they were served as parts of the chicken (leg and thigh instead of deboned breast). I'd definitely recommend to other people. We shared a chicken and waffle, mac and cheese and a kale blt salad- the bacon in the salad was so effing good! It's thick slices of bacon cooked to the right crispness. The mac and cheese was okay. I'm not a big mac and cheese person but I know good mac and cheese when I taste it. It was very flavourful and it was very salty. Good service and good meal -------------------- It's been 2 years since I first came here and they're just as good as the first time. It was a Thursday afternoon around 3:30pm . The restaurant wasn't too busy. We even sat at the same seat we sat at 2 years ago. And was served quickly. We ordered the Sweet Chick Bucket: 3 piece bucket chicken with biscuit and cole slaw and the Sweet Chick Waffle with fresh fruits, honey and ricotta. The Sweet Chick Waffle was delectable. Yummmm what can go wrong with fried chicken? I came with a girlfriend on a lazy Saturday when we were taking the day to explore Williamsburg. We were quickly seated and ordered via the app -- which I strongly prefer because it's less flagging down the waiter and more food on demand. The interior is set up like a park! There are picnic style benches as well as the regular chair/table set up. Ordering is done through their app/website with a QR code. I ordered the honey chicken sandwich, as did my friend. We split the potato salad. All of it was delicious and I wish I had tried more of their appetizers and their beverages! Their fried okra made me so sad! My server said it wasn't spicy but when it arrived at my table, I saw the red spots on the breading right away. It wasn't spicy enough that I couldn't eat it but it was still too much. But I quickly realized why they add the spice; the breading is horribly tasteless on its own. And the okra inside is pretty slimy. There are ways to cook okra to prevent their sliminess and the cooks here just don't have it down. The sauce it comes with somewhat saves the dish but barely. I was hoping for delicious fried okra and didn't get it. Their mac and cheese is great with the thick melted cheese and salty cracker crumb topping. However, it's not good enough to make me come back just for that. If I ever return, I would try entirely different items on their menu and hope for the best.
