Let's talk about the amazing hospitality and food at Birdie's Hot Chicken. I'm not sure what management was like before, but Syndey (the store manager) runs a tight ship. He'll make you feel at home, crank out some flavorful, crispy fried chicken, and give you a tiramisu on the house if you're lucky. If you need anything, Sydney is there to help. The space has a few tables and a casual but fun ambiance. The menu is written on chalkboard, with quirky drawings of Birdie's flame spewing chicken in colored chalk. Food comes out fast and fresh. The Bird in a Bun is a delicious chicken sandwich with a soft bun and crispy chicken. Super juicy and flavorful. However, the signature fries quickly stole the spotlight. The amount of fries and chopped chicken tenders mixed with sauce, pickles, and coleslaw is enough food for an entire day. And the chicken also stays crispy even when it starts to get cold, somehow defying the laws of science. For dessert, my partner enjoyed the vanilla ferrero rocher shake and the free tiramisu which were both delicious and creamy additions to the meal. It's no wonder I keep hearing people sing Birdie's praises. It's good affordable food served with good vibes. Can't ask for more.

Pretty solid chicken sandwich! I got the medium spicy, which wasn't very spicy tbh. Really curious about the SOS one (they make you sign a waiver) so I might be back for that. The fries are nice and crispy, and have chicken salt, which is apparently an Australian seasoning and different from just chicken bouillon. They also have tiramisu, which is random for a chicken place, but also solid because they use mascarpone. The owner was super super friendly as well.

I love Birdies! The owner, who is a chef, puts so much effort and dedication into making sure the food is fresh and delicious. The seasoning is so well balanced and the texture of the chicken skin was perfectly crisp and done. Inside of the meat was juicy and tender. Fries were crisp, the special sauce was so flavorful (also fat free), and their double cheeseburger is a mixture of incredible meat with lamb. He also makes the slaw in house which was light and tasty with yogurt as its main base. Very creative cooking put into simple dishes that really out do the average chicken spot. I got the hedium heat level (in between medium and hot) wasn't hot at all to me, more like a mild medium, but everyone has different taste buds. To top off the best meal of the night we had a slice of tiramisu that was light, creamy, and full of sweet goodness. I will 100% be returning here. New regular spot for me 10/10 recommend.

New owner!! The signature fries will always hit .. every single time. Now they include their dirty fries which has a hot & crispy seasoning - I personally am not a fan because it can be so many different spices - I didn't know that it came with them instead.. I asked the owner & he explained to me that it was their new combo & ended up giving me another serving with regular fries! Beware - I never make it home with the full portion! hehe so definitely eat them inside when they're fresh!

The food was delicious and the owner was so kind and helpful in picking which one I should get ! 10/10 I definitely recommend coming here and I'll be back ! The tiramisu was a hit too !

Came here with a friend visiting from out of town to try it out. We both ordered the chicken tenders platter and realized they didn't provide the coleslaw with the meal. The chicken didn't taste great and had an odd after taste, as if they use old or cheap oil. The tenders came chopped up, and the worst part was the breading fell off the meat for the most part. Worth the shot but came out disappointed.

Great food and incredibly friendly staff. This was my first time here and definitely coming back.

First time trying it. Was passing by with my dog as always and i was kinda hungry and wanted something like hot wings, I saw this spot called Birdies Hot Chicken, I was like... why not lets give it a try. But! They dont sell bone in wings, everything boneless which i dont mind. So i order me the 2 tenders 1 hot 1 regular for my dog .The man behind the counter so friendly and that there earned 3 stars Dog friendly and Cat friendly thats 2 more stars He made a special container for my dog cause i told him 1 tender was for my dog Tenders are ok, VERY HOT!! So next time I probably ask medium hot He offered me on the house this drink that you'll see in the picture I'm going to post, Ginger Beer I was like ookaaay.. lets see how it taste and its actually pretty good! Ambiance small local place for a quick meal before hitting a bar or after a drinking night I took it home and enjoyed it with a nice cold beer. My lips still burning .... I def recommend IF you like spicy

Wanted this to hit more than it did, the signature fries with chicken tender bits was fun, and tasted decent with the sauce, but overall the chicken wasn't very tender, it was a bit overcooked, and the chicken itself wasn't very flavorful. We got the medium spicy and it wasn't really spicy at all. The workers were nice and the chicken came out hot (we did wait about 20 minutes). Each item was about $12

Bird in a bun was so well seasoned Slaw was made fresh and tasty Owner was super friendly and staff was great! Tiramisu was mad in house and was delicious. Will definitely come back to try the S.O.S chicken

Delicious hot chicken sandwiches! We went on a Friday evening and the line was out the door. It moved quickly, but the service was very slow, as only 3 people were working (there were about 20 people in the store waiting for food). Ambiance- small store front with a few tables and chairs to eat. It took about 30 minutes to get our food, so be patient. The sandwich (we got medium spice but they range from zero spice to extreme spice) and the fries were good. Tip- don't get the milkshake- it was straight milk with Oreo pieces inside.

From Argentinian styled empanadas to Peruvian styled rotisserie chicken... it's all done really well. So well that people are surprised every time they meet the owners! lol. This is a grab and go place and it gets busy! But there is a little bit of seating in the back if you need to sit and eat there. The staff work really hard to make sure everyone gets their order in a good time. And they are all so nice. I really love their rotisserie chicken and it's paired well with their fries, salad, and even rice. Their potato salad is simply seasoned but realllyyy good; truly nothing over the top with their seasoning for it but somehow it really hits the spot when you eat it with the chicken. I also tried the grilled lemon chicken with the lo mein and loved that too! I didn't finish it all in one sitting so I had that for lunch the next day. Haha. The fried shrimp was also very good. Loved dipping it as well as the chicken, into their house green sauce. The green sauce is crack!!!!! You must get lots of it. Highly recommend visiting this neighborhood staple soon or to order it delivered to your place. :)

Had the lamb platter ($13) and fried chicken drumstick and thigh special deal (4pc for $6) The service was great, accommodating and very friendly!! The lamb platter came with rice, fries, salad, and soda. For $13 thats a good deal in my opinion. Not a huge fan of salad and was given the option to add a little more fries or rice into the platter with no extra cost. The food was delicious, made to order and not just scooped into a container. The lamb was juicy and flavorful, the basmati rice had its cumin flavor (in which is the real deal). I dont understand how people find yellow rice at those famous halal food carts to be tasty. The shoe string fries were flavorful as well but got a little soggy on the way home. The white sauce tasted like taziki sauce without the cucumbers. You can see that they used herbs in it and not just a plain white sauce. The red sauce is super hot and definitely holds a kick to it. I usually have my red and white sauce on the platter but the The cashier and cook recommended to place the red sauce in a small sauce container on the side rather than having it drizzled on top of the platter! Appreciate that recommendation. The fried chicken was flavorful with a thin coat of batter and still crispy when we got home. The chicken was juicy and paired really well with the hot sauce and rice platter. There are many options on the menu in which you can even buy a single drum stick. Overall experience was amazing and would recommend. Thinking about trying the chicken platter next time or wonder if they would do a combo platter. But you have other options like fish and shrimp.

It's near a clothing store that I try to visit whenever I'm in the city, but sometimes getting over there is tricky, haha. It's a commitment because it's in the opposite direction from where most other things I visit are. Well I can say is that this is a gem hidden in plain sight. And what I have observed as a heavy Latino neighborhood is this Korean stand that has some outstanding Korean fried chicken. I thought I was just going to get some wings and call it a day, but I ended up going with a sandwich instead. There were a few options, and I decided to do the Korean Fried Chicken sandwich. It's set up to be a to-go scenario, with just four stools and very little table space. But it was raining so hard, so I decided to put my umbrella down and hang out while waiting. The Chef is very friendly and I enjoyed him sharing how he came to establish the stand and his time in the restaurant industry. It was maybe about 10 to 15 minutes before my food was ready, and it was packaged quite nicely. It was tucked in a bag ready for me to hit the train and get it home safely, but I decide to unpackage everything and eat it at one of the empty stools. The sandwich came in a small to go container that was stapled, which is a nice touch. The sandwich also had an option to come with fries, or sweet potato fries for an extra charge. Either one comes with what the chef calls smoky ketchup, and I was eager to try. I got the sweet potato fries came in a separate container and the ketchup was literally taped to the top of it so nothing could happen to it. I loved that. I had to try the chicken on its own first, and I was immediately wowed by the crunch and crispiness of the texture, and don't get me started on the flavor. I don't think I have ever had Korean fried chicken that also had corn flakes to add to the texture. But then once I had all the elements of the sandwich together, including the slaw, aioli, etc., I was quite satisfied. Now, the bun was smaller than the chicken piece, but luckily it didn't all fall into an insane mess. The sweet potato fries were piping hot and seasoned so well, they didn't even need the Smoky ketchup. But the smoky ketchup was an experience on its own too. I was not expecting to come to this little stand and have an elevated sandwich and french fry experience. Looks like they've been around for about a year now, and I wish Chef Sung Park continued success. If I lived in the area, I would do my best to stop by at least on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. I need to figure out what I'm going to try next time.

I don't have the vocabulary to describe the chicken - crispy-crunchy outside, delicious moist meat inside. Secret sauce aioli with a smoky catsup, and a slaw (daikon radish) is amazing. (The secret weapon here is the crunchy hash brown patty in the sandwich. ) I had the "simple" bacon sandwich - phenomenal! Each bite is a perfect bite. Chef Sung Park came out and chatted a but with us - he clearly takes pride in his cooking but is also charming and funny. He seemed bemused that his Breakfast Champion sandwich had recently been written up in the NY Times, as he's been serving a version of it for over 30 years. The place is very basic. You order through a window and wait for your food. There are a few chairs, and a teeny little patio to enjoy your sandwich and the sun (when it's out!) It's a perfect fit for Brooklyn and i will dream about my sandwich for a long time!
