Merv's does not look like much from the outside, but inside one is met with modular sofa type lounge seating at the entrance to the right and then the bar lines the right side toward the back. Other seating is on your left as you walk back to an area beyond the L shaped bar with a pool table and darts. Merv's has good capacity and does not feel crowded as you find at other bars shoulder to shoulder. I ordered a wheat beer at seven bucks and saw regular pricing for other beers at even lower price points. Happy hour must be good here. Burgers and sandwiches were around fifteen on the short menu. Great and friendly service awaits you behind the bar. One can afford to frequent Merv's and this would be a great place to get together with friends and sit with a date; though, it is a bit loud for a good conversation. Still gets a high rec from me. Four stars!

My personal favorite is their hot dog, crispy and fresh covered in relish, onion, mustard, cherry peppers, and hot honey for only $4! Definitely a nice neighborhood spot to stop by.

It did take a while for us to get served and we ordered glasses of wine, beer, a charcuterie board to start and arancini balls. The charcuterie board was really good, as was the arancini. Some other people in my party got the Bavarian Pretzel. For people's main courses, my boyfriend got the Crispy Chicken Sandwich with sweet potato fries, and another friend got the burger with sweet potato fries as well. We all agreed that everything was delicious, but the sweet potato fries were phenomenal. After the presentation ended, I brought out cupcakes I had made, and the server allowed us to light them and sing happy birthday to my partner. Afterwards, we all decided to go to the bar upstairs to have a drink and play cornhole. The upstairs area was really nice as well and half indoor half out. We were impressed by the variety on the drink menu and I enjoyed a Mezcal cocktail. There is bar seating, as well as more high top tables inside the indoor portion of the bar upstairs, and there is also similar seating options throughout the outside portion. I highly recommend this restaurant/bar and think this would be a great place to host an event.

It's laid back, simple, clean. Bar is pretty comfortable seating-wise. Bartenders are always kind and hospitable. In fact, this time around I chose a drink I didn't like and the bartender asked if they could make me another one. I told them only if they would let me pay for the one I didn't like (I'm not a person who tries things and then doesn't pay). But they insisted that I take a new drink (that they made off menu, for me special) without paying for the discarded one. By the way, there was nothing wrong with the one I tried, it's just I'm really tired of the jalapeño trend and it turned me off with the jalapeño flavor. I had the pretzel and mustard, which again is a huge portion and you'll never be able to finish it unless you have help. I also had the hotdog, made with all the pickle relish, brown mustard, and onion toppings. It was average, but hit the spot and wasn't too heavy. Nothing fancy, but the vibes are IMMACULATE.

After calling the manager, they have reluctantly agreed to sit us outside. I think what happened is they had a large party of 30 people outside and probably have given up one of the tables for it.
