Grabbed brunch with a few of my buddies recently here, and woukd realistically give 3.5 stars, but rounding up to 4 because I really liked the french toast. Walking in at like 2:15 or so, wasn't super packed so was easy to grab a table, and we got our (happy hour!) drinks quickly. That said, after placing our food order, it took a very long time for the food to actually come out. My friends enjoyed their dishes, I liked my fried chicken and French toast, but the main issue I had was the chicken being a bit overcooked and tough to cut. The crust of the chicken was good though. This spot is so highly rated on yelp and i had been meaning to check it out for a while! They have a happy hour but unfortunately I missed it so will have to go another time for that. Went on a Thursday evening and it was pretty vacant around 6/7! Very nice bartenders and lots of windows so you can get sunlight during the day. I opted for a cocktail and the burger which comes with fries. I thought the cocktail was ok, not sure if i'd get it again as i felt it was a little on the weak side. burger was solid, i like that they use butter lettuce here if that is something anyone is particular about. Its not a smash burger so keep that in mind, its dry aged and a thicker patty. good fries on the side as well and lots of them! Think the burger is around $20 which isnt too bad for the portions. hope to be back to check out the happy hour! read more

Totally amazing! Sadly, this will be a brief review... for now. I came here to attend a friend's baby shower. What a great time. The place was great, the staff was great, the food was great, and the cocktails were divine. Even though we used the back room, I would say that I loved the decor and space of the entire tavern. It's looks great and modern without sacrificing comfort. The snacks were great, but the cocktails stole the show. Everyone's got cocktails and they rarely live up to the price tag (imho) but not here. Silver Light's cocktails were creative and delicious with plenty of variety for everyone. Finally, the staff couldn't have been nicer. It's clear that they care about the folks that step through the door, they care about your experience, and they care about each other. Came here on a whim and didn't care much for the burger or the fried. The burger lacked seasoning and I didn't care for the bun. The fries were a bit too hard for my taste. The wife and I stopped in on Sunday, July 13, 2025. We were greeted by a very fun, happy and beautiful person by the name of Graham. He made us feel welcomed and comfortable right away. Surprises await when you get off on Bedford of the L train. Silver Light Tavern is one of them. They had bar seating, but all the seats were taken. We were able to get a table without waiting. It was dark and loud inside. I got the Plum Crazy - the sweetest cocktail ever. I loved it! Sunday in Paris and Sundance Kid were other table favorites. Our server was excellent. He was like dance-y when he talked to us. They accept credit card payments, but not Apple Pay. Bathrooms were in the back. read more

On the first temperate-ish Saturday of the year, there was nary an empty seat at Silver Light Tavern's heated patio, except for a lone table that was the only one without an overhead heat lamp. It was still pretty chilly to be outdoors, but my friends and I huddled around this heat lamp-less table, just happy to be outside. Fortunately SLT anticipated times like these for their customers, and dedicated a whole section of their menu to hot cocktails. I cupped my frozen fingers around the hot mug my cocktail came in and slowly sipped it, just happy that it was strong. "Drink yourself a jacket" is something we used to say in college back when we prioritized looking cute over comfort, and it felt apt here. As we waited for a heated table to clear up, we enjoyed a plate of their fried cauliflower, and once we secured a table under a toasty heat lamp, I ordered a few rounds of their fantastic bloody marys. I rounded it out with a rose, and was nice and buzzed by the time I stumbled out of the joint, already plotting my next return to one of the best outdoor dining set ups in Brooklyn. read more

Was visiting some friends for the weekend, while they slept in, we wanted brunch at 3pm! It was very hard to find what we were looking for, brunch and alcohol provided (not BYOB), so after seeing this was "upscale brunch" and also had cocktails, we decided to try it out, despite the prices. Ordered the mimosa ($13, fresh squeezed OJ) and the huevos rancheros. My S/O ordered the Pal Around ($15 Mezcal cocktail) and the Croissant and Chicken. Have pictures of my set up, but overall both were good. Nothing crazy special, but decent. Service was fine, nothing to rave about. It wasn't very busy inside, but the bar area was beautiful with hanging plants, and soft lighting. The bar has a cool layout making it very maneuverable. I opted for the cauliflower sloppy Joe. The cauliflower filling was flavorful and it was every bit as messy as a meaty sloppy Joe! Came with a heaping of fries. They were crispy and not greasy at all. Service was friendly and attentive. They have three gender neutral restrooms. One is handicap accessible. Whenever I go to a new spot, I get a burger. 1) Because I absolutely love burgers and 2) It's a great way to gauge a restaurants attention to detail and quality control. If you make a solid burger, I can trust making my way through the rest of your menu. With that, I got the burger at Silver Light Tavern and have continued to get it because it's the best damn burger I've ever had. They're humble about their burger as they do have a solid menu all around (I eat other people's dishes too) but I can't help but think of their burger at random times during the day which says a lot. Also, I live in Crown Heights and that will never stop me from coming here just for my cheat meal which of course is the burger! Did I mention you should try their burger?! With so many local favorites in Wiliiamsburg closing due to the fake L train shutdown (and rising rent costs), it's so refreshing that a great new local spot bucked the trend. The space is inviting and warm. The circular bar in the center and the floor to ceiling windows being the highlights. The food is fantastic. We tried the home made pasta and the mushroom toast and were blown away by the amount of flavor packed into these small plates. Can't wait to come back and try some of the larger plates. The drink menu has cocktails that range in price from $11-13 which is so nice to see with many restaurants going with the unfortunate trend of having cocktails close to $20. I tried both gin cocktails and loved both of them. Can't wait for their cafe to open for morning and afternoon coffee and to have many, many more nights at this new local. read more
