Great spot in Greenpoint! Roomy inside and a huge outdoor area. Lots of TVs. Kinda divey, but not in a dirty way. Laid back crowd of mostly locals. Reasonably priced beer and food. We loved the burgers and hot dogs. Disco fries and wings were okay but kinda meh. Overall a solid spot and some great happy hour food and drink deals during the week. I do wish they opened earlier as I'm a day drinker! Will be back when I'm in the neighborhood! Solid spot to watch a game and not deal w a huge crowd. read more

Not sure how they set up for the winter but this place was absolutely beautiful and spacious. The Plam trees made it feel like you were out of NYC for a second. Food was delicious. Fries nice and crunchy. The burger was so delicious even my daughter enjoyed hers. She's not even a burger eater. They have indoor seating as well They have a bar set up. Bathrooms. Completely miserable experience. The management is rude and aggressive. Our party was berated and yelled at for not ordering enough drinks -- ridiculous behavior! There is a reason this bar is always empty! Do not ever plan a party at this bar. Go to any other bar in the area, you will have a lot more fun! read more

Too hot! Idk if the owner is just cheap or what but it was 80* outside and I came in for a refreshing drink and it was a stifling 85* inside. The poor people that work there having to work in those conditions- I feel bad giving the place money if they aren't taking care of their workers. Would not recommend. read more

Stopped in for drinks and didn't expect to meet one of the best bartenders I've ever encountered. Greg is the real deal--old-school in the best way. Personable, attentive, and just effortlessly cool. He made the whole experience feel like I was a regular, even though it was my first time. We didn't try the food, but if the bar staff is any reflection of the place, I'm sure it's just as good. Tried to scam our party out of money--came with a large group and was informed there was A fee to have a birthday party there which we paid ahead of time (we didnt rent out the space, just reserved some of it) but no drink minimum (we weren't concerned about meeting that anyways) then the manager had a full crashout and was yelling at the birthday girl every five minutes worried that people weren't ordering enough drinks when the party had only just started. She was in incredibly unprofessional and weird and it got to the point where we just decided to leave. They charged her a $250 fee as if we didn't hit the $250 drink minimum she had just made up even though we were well over it as just from the receipts collected we had spent over $300, probably more....the whole time the bar was basically empty anyways and it took so long to get a drink as the bartender was moving at a snails pace. We would have spent a lot more but we left quickly because of the vibe. Just horrible energy and trying to steal peoples money! read more

After enjoying the music and dancing from the three kings parade we ventured to Jucy Lucy's, per recommendation from my brother and his friends. As we took our seats at the bar, the delicious aroma of buffalo wings took over my senses. I am a self proclaimed connoisseur for buffalo wings. I had to order the wings to go along with the pretzel and beer. The bartender stated the wings were marinated for 24 hours and doubled fried. Sounded so good!! Bonus with the wings, extra sauce that I sopped up with my pretzel. Atmosphere was quiet, friendly, we chatted with the bartender about the games that were on the 6 televisions. Stopped in for food and drinks before a concert nearby, receiving a table outside. My partner and I split a pitcher of mojitos while enjoying the pleasant ambiance of Greenpoint on a Friday night. Service was a little slow so we took our time. Next, a Jucy Double cheeseburger. This variation of the presently popular smash burger formula is a meaty treat that satisfies the craving for a beefy, cheesy burger. Fairly simple, pleasantly filling. I got to try a BBQ brisket sandwich, which, for $8, is appropriately small. I was glad to much on some disco fries, though I wasn't blown away by them. The cheese rapidly congealed into a hard layer on top of the fries, and the gravy was thin. I'll stick to the sandwiches next time. This is an awesome space and the servers were very nice, albeit stretched a little thin. Bring some extra patience and try to make it for happy hour, during which time there are some pretty cheap food and beer combos. read more

My husband and I have driven past Jucy Lucy countless times. Naturally a place that is called Jucy Lucy caught our attention, because of Minneapolis's famed Jucy Lucy burger, and because they have a quite large outdoor space that's covered with umbrellas. We'd discussed stopping by for a burger several times, only to realize that it wasn't open. Harrumph. Finally, this Saturday as we were making our way back from Brooklyn to Queens we saw people outside dining and knew that this was our shot to finally try it out! The place itself is cute, you walk in through the side of the patio/deck situation and walk right into a dark, air conditioned bar, then directly adjacent to that door is another one that leads straight to the deck/patio. It was beautiful out, so when we were told we could sit wherever, we went straight to the deck. The thing was that it was just a bit TOO sunny outside and with the slowly setting sun, the nice, expansive umbrellas didn't do much. The staff, however, was very gracious and moved us as far into the shade as space would allow. Once we were in the shade, we started reviewing the menu and the what the folks around us were ordering. Not a lot of evidence of the eponymous jucy lucy. I saw one burger labeled the Jucy Lucy, but it wasn't quite what I was expecting, just two patties with copious amounts of cheese on top of each patty. It was still a good burger, and at $12, I can't be mad at it. At $12, it's just the burger, but it's still substantial. We saw other folks with fries and they didn't look like anything to write home about, so we opted for the onion rings, which were good. The rings came with a little side of ketchup, our burgers did not. We had also requested a little side of mayo upon ordering our meal. It did not come with our burgers. I know it's a tough market for restaurants to get workers these days, but it seemed to be only two people in the front of the house, who were serving, waiting, and bartending. I feel for them, but we did have to ask several times for ketchup and the mayo - at one point I had to even go to the bar to inquire, when the waiter saw me coming in, he was like "your drinks are almost ready!" I had to remind him, that this was not what I was asking about and he ran like a chicken with it's head cut off to go retrieve our request. Their cocktails on the other hand, I am told were tasty, though you may have to request the good booze, otherwise you'll get stuck with some well stuff that may not be up to your standards. I like this place. Easy to find corner location. Cozy laid back bar with pretty good sandwiches in my opinion. I had a hot pastrami w/ fries while there hydrating and I was thoroughly pleased. What a find this place is! Only $18 for any pitcher of beer including a Hefeweizen that is so delicious. We also got a burger that had I think four slices of cheese and two perfectly cooked burgers as well as a snappy and delicious hot dog. We ordered the following: BBQ burger $15 no fries: ordered med well.. came as well done as it could have come with craft Mac singles for cheese. Side of sweet potato fries $8: were so soggy and disgusting they were inedible. Kids grilled cheese sandwich $8: this was the worst Texas Roadhouse grilled cheese I've ever seen. Texas toast with craft Mac singles. Cost of making the sandwich? $.50 Chicken tenders $14: soggy old chicken tenders that squirt water out of your mouth when you take a bite. I came here last night with part of a small group. I think our host chose it for the neighborhood (we usually gather in Greenpoint) and the outdoor patio, which I enjoyed immensely. There are many umbrellas, providing shade for everyone, but there's uninterrupted view of the street (I love to people watch!) and the skyline. As a beer snob (oops) I was thrilled with the list and variety of beer (and spirits), and everything we ordered tasted great. I'm broke, so I was also happy that I could afford beer and a snack.
