If I could give this place 100 stars, I would. The food is so good (brisket and mac & cheese were my fav), the drinks are amazing (frozen marg!!), the service is top notch, and the back patio is gorgeous and super spacious. Some of the best mac n cheese around! It is creamy, with a crunchy, crusty top and made with big shells that hold the cheese. Definitely a favorite. Their wings are also fantastic. They have a crunch almost from how smoked they are. They're my go to favorite wings! read more

Nice hole-in-the-wall bar with some solid food. The wife's steak frites were ordered medium well, but came out medium rare...they took it back and cooked it a little more and it was perfect! I am a self-diagnosed bbq snob, to the point I don't often get bbq when not at a bbq joint, but i was tempted by the brisket burnt ends sandwich. And this is why i don't order bbq in a NYC bar. It might have been brisket, but wasn't what I would call burnt ends. Either way...the sandwich was good, the fries were good, and the bar itself is a great hangout that Inwiuld frequent if i lived nearby. read more

Bartender last night didnt want to let us know theyre out of the house lager ($6) and gave us $13 beers when we asked for "the lager". I thought there may have been one good quality to this place in the nice backyard but then the guy said no smoking. Clientele is most likely 35+ and/or tech bros but I really have no idea because it was empty on a Saturday night read more

I think this is a great spot to hang! Good beer selection and I am a fan of the wings. Additional points because they were cool with my pup there. Nice bartenders and a decent crowd. read more

Loved the food and energy of this place! Big fan of the burger and their fries are perfectly cooked.

Seemed a little busy here on a Saturday night. It looked as if they were having some kind of private event in their back area. Service was aight. I was told that there was table service but had to order at the bar. Guys looked overwhelming busy. Couple of TV's around the bar with college football on the screenTook a minute to get my beer. They have a large variety of draft beers. I opted for the Fiddlehead IPA. Not too bad. Had the chicken sandwich that was unadorned and naked. Not lacking in flavor just a bit on the boring side. Fries just fries. Regular smegular. Not sure that I would return due to the lack of service. But maybe it was just a bad day. read more

Amazing wings . Smoked and fried. If they had a pr team this would be on infatuation must eat.

The smoked wings here were soooo good ! The Boozeberry was also very good ! The bartender was super nice and informative . Ambiance felt like your natural neighborhood bar ! read more

They have some pretty game-changer wings! The smoked taste is simply incredible. The rest of the menu is pretty good. Shout out to the deviled eggs. Also a good beer selection. The service is pretty good as well. And the style of the bar is intimate. The outside is great in the warm months. read more

10 stars if I could. Had to leave my home town of asbury park NJ and head into Brooklyn to deliver my daughter to a show at the Brooklyn monarch. Had a few hours to kill and did my research ahead of time to see where we might hang out while we waited. Northern Belle seemed like the spot so after braving downpour rain, crazy winds and the worst drivers in America, we made it to the bar. From the outside it looked dark and we drove past it and had to turn around to find the place. Wow, you walk in the door and the place is buzzing with Brooklyn locals. We got lucky and got the last 2 seats at the bar. The bartender was so friendly and made great drinks. He was cranking out the drinks and still kept checking on us, not sure how he handles it but he is awesome . We ordered a ton of food for the 2 of us and this place makes really good bar food. Really good. We did the deep fried deviled egg plate, really good. Shrimp and brisket tacos were great. Fried hicken sandwich came with a ton of hand cut fries. Perfect! Oh and we got an order of smoked wings and they are really good! read more

Bartender was rude to me and my friends and got my order wrong. Went to pay and he added a 20% auto gratuity for just me a one other person. Happy he at least told me! He did not tell my friend who paid cash and when I realized he had been auto grating EVERYONE we discovered she tipped him ON TOP of the auto grat. So shitty. If you don't trust customers to tip you maybe you shouldn't be a bartender! Sucks cause I love the other bartenders there and the food is good but this guy blows chunks. Makes me not want to go back. read more

One of my favorite Brunch/ Lunch spots in Brooklyn. Extensive breakfast options, I love the bec on Texas toast, and biscuits & gravy. Wings are also always amazing. Many different flavor options. Great drinks & reasonable prices. Perfect for a brunch, or to watch a game with a few friends. Outdoor seating available in the back. read more

Best wings in Brooklyn. Nice selection of beer and a great bloody Mary. Welcoming atmosphere and good service.

The pro was that everything came out very fresh! The Mac and cheese was pretty solid, it's creamy and cheesy and has a great crusted top, no complaints there. The brisket burnt end sandwich has much to be desired. The meat was pretty tasty on its own, but the Texas toast was sadly very burnt tasting which transferred over to the meat itself. The French fries were super fresh, thick and crunchy which was nice. A regular coke is pretty flat and comes out of a 2L bottle. Overall, mediocre experience at best. read more

Have you ever seen the movie Palm Springs? With Andy Samberg and Cristin Milioti? Where they live the same day over and over and over and over and over again? Well if that happened to me, I would come here every day to eat the Thai pepper wings. Our server, Sara, kept the hits coming with the recommendations. Everything we ate was absolutely orgasmic. The Thai pepper wings. The burger. The brisket burnt ends Sammy. The side of mayo. Sara knows what's up. But furrreal furreal... get those Thai pepper wings. You'll leave knowing that if those can taste that way, anything if possible. read more

I was craving wings and where else would I look to find them other than yelp ! This was one of the top rated places in the area so we came here. The hostess was super nice and seated us right away, we had the option of inside or outside and we decided to sit outside in their cute and covid friendly backyard patio area. We ordered the table share Mac & cheese as well as their smoked wings with the blue cheese and Buffalo sauce on the side. I really enjoyed the flavor of the wings and the Buffalo sauce wasn't too hot and it was a nice touch. The Mac and cheese was good I did think it needed a little bit of salt but my boyfriend said it was fine so maybe it was me. We also tried the Mexican Moscow drink or something like that. It had tequila, ginger beer and something else. I really enjoyed it and would definitely have it again. Overall if your in the area definitely stop in here ! read more

I was really disappointed in the quality of the food especially since it has so many high reviews. The chicken of the chicken sandwich was fine, nothing special. The rib tacos were tough and chopped into weird small chunks that didn't have much flavor. The brisket taco too, the meat was just unflavored. I did takeout and would consider coming back except I just noticed the heath score of 17 out of 100 which doesn't make me feel inclined to visit again. read more

Place is great. I sidled in on a Tuesday afternoon as the only person there. Their back eating area is well shaded and has a nice, steady breeze. The wings are dangerous with a crispy, smokey flavor. I suggest you eat them as recommended: dry with a sauce on the side. The garlic aioli dipping sauce was so good I dipped my fries in them instead of ketchup. The bison burger is likewise delicious. Bison is notoriously dry and tough to cook but they nailed it. The burger was juicy and the sauce brought it all together nicely. They also have a great draft beer selection and the bartender was incredibly attentive. Highly recommend this hole in the wall. read more

This place was absolutely delicious and a must-try if you're in Williamsburg. Get: - the burger (cooked perfectly, huge portion, bacon, onion strings) - The Mac and cheese - they must do an upside down cast iron style cause there is amazing crisp on one side of it. So flavorful and the portion can feed a village. - The wedge salad- great dressing, blue cheese, bacon, corn. If you're craving a burger or American food in general go here and thank me later. read more

Came to Northern bell due to the fact my regular "go to" bbq place had a private party. First of a"lol, it's not a true BBQ restaurant as the menu is quite varied and even has Mexican food ..... Anyhow , they have a great outdoor area , plenty of craft beers , and a varied menu. I must say , the BBQ items are rather limited , so this is affects my score ( only one bbq sauce which was homemade but very good ... but just one ) Started with the Mac and cheese with bacon which was good and then moved on to the burger which was very good and fries which was ok . My friend had the brisket with with beans and the fixings. All in all , a good place but not if you want true BBQ . Service was adequate read more

My friend and I decided to visit on a Friday night. We assumed it be packed and when we walked in, it was! We were able to snag a table close to the bar right after a party had left. This is 100% a no frills dive bar. Seems like a neighborhood favorite though because it was packed with people who lived in the area. We decided to order two draft IPA's which were pretty good. Apparently this space has a backyard and a friendly wait staff. I'd 100% recommend coming here for a friends outing and or a bar crawl within the neighborhood. read more

Came here for brunch a couple of months ago, and I really wanted to like this place to add on to my southern food finds in the north, but i cant. When we got there, everything seemed to be rolling the right way. We had reservation, no issues we got seated right away. I had the cornbread chicken and waffles and my girlfriend had the disco breakfast sandwich. Overall food was kind of bland, definitely needed more seasoning of some sort, and if my review was just of the food, it would probably be 3 stars. However it was near impossible to get the waitress to come over. It seemed like we were constantly waiting, while she was talking to other people carrying on conversation without paying any attention to ours. Like I said, I wanted to like this place, and maybe we just caught it on a bad day, maybe I'll give it a shot some other time. read more

My sister and her family showed me a secret spot for brunch. I adore going to new places and finding secret spots is my favorite. I've spotted Nothern Bell in the past from the corner of my eye. I meant to go but never made it. We went in and they had no problem with us taking a large table in the back room. There was more of a lunch menu going. I was happy to see that it was super veggie friendly for a BBQ and comfort food spot. There was a lot that looked good. I went for the smoked tofu sandwich. My niece wanted ribs but they didn't have any. The waiter suggested the pulled pork and she was quiet happy. She shared her German potato salad with me and it was delicious. When the mac n cheese arrived we could tell who the belle of the Nothern Bell was. It had that beautifully browned topping and the melty-cheesy goodness you look for. I would definitely return for this dish alone. For my side I picked the succotash salad. It had a nice array of colorful vegetables and a briney dressing that rounded it. The service her was off the charts. The guy working was super sweet. He never forgot us in the back. He was helpful with the menu. And he even hooked up my bro-in-law with some pint glasses. I need to return for this infamous fried deviled eggs!! And that patio is going to be my second home when it starts getting warm. Also fried green tomatoes and a homemade veggie burger sound mouthwatering. And Avocado dippers...kryptonite!! I also lovedddd the large list of crafty beers and that you could get different sizes. Sorry sis. This secret is out. read more

Reserved a table in their back room for a bday and when we showed up they were clueless about our reservation. I had even called to confirm the reservation a couple of days before. The manager on duty tried to soothe the situation over but they shouldn't be reserving the back room if they can't stay organized with their reservations. Food wise the fried chicken sandwich was barely edible. That bad. On the positive note our waitress was very helpful and did a great job. read more

Pretty average brunch spot in Williamsburg - mostly docking points for how normal it was and the service was quite slow, even though not many people were there for brunch. Got the truffle mac and cheese which was beautiful and cooked really well, but could have had a bit more of a kick to it. I admittedly have not eaten here yet. But I want to. Every time I've come in (which has been a handful so far) it smells insane and I see burger specials and smell cheese. Insane odors wafting through the room. The menu is kind of southern american comfort food. They do brunch. They do fried green tomatoes. They do fried chicken sandwiches. Ribs, mac and cheese, fried avocado, bourbon sweet potato mash, a bacon essence apple pie, and something called a disco breakfast sandwich. You've caught my eye. Nervous twitch. The thing I've come in here for is their beer - which always has an extremely impressive rotating draft menu. Their best deal of the week is Monday Mug Night - $5 for any draft that is under $10. They have $1 off beers every other day of the week from 4-7pm and a few beer and food specials they mix up for happy hour. Their back garden area is also really pleasant to soak up some sun with friends or grab a beer and read a great book in. read more

They say the wings here are the best in Brooklyn and I would have to agree. Smoked wings are not my favorite by any means, but these are very very good. Went for Good Beer Passport Dinner Food - 5/5. This version of fried deviled eggs was fantastic! The egg whites, which are normally very plain in flavor, are breaded with plenty of herbs to give it taste and texture. The yolks are blended well to form a creamy consistency with plenty of tartness to brighten the flavor. The deviled eggs are great on their own but with the chipotle aioli, the smooth and spicy flavors of the dip compliment the eggs very well. Pimento cheese was tasty and the pickled vegetables were refreshing. Service - 4/5. Quick and courteous. Value - 5/5. The deviled eggs themselves were great but the fact that it comes with a side of pimento cheese and pickled vegetables makes it practically a complete meal. I'm not entirely sure if those two have much relation with each other, but I enjoyed them. All that delicious food for $10 makes for full value marks. Parking - Street (Free) read more

Had a wonderful experience when I came here on a date. Our server was just amazing ( unfortunately I forgot her name). She was engaging and her customer service skills were A1. The food: soooooooooo good especially the Bacon Mac and Cheese and the Fried Chicken Tacos. The drinks: were strong and tasty too. I ordered the Sazerac drink (since it was apart of the Tippler event). The Sazerac is a nice whiskey cocktail that's great for the fall weather. The mac and cheese is perfect! So cheesy and gooey and a nice sharpness to the cheese that gives it some freshness and intrigue.

When I got invited to go to Northern Bell, I had to admit that I had never heard of it. However, since I rarely ventured into Brooklyn, that was no reflection on the appeal of the establishment. In fact, the casual restaurant and bar wound up being a gem that I was happy to discover. On that early Friday evening, I walked in and found a few patrons cozied up at the laidback bar, as well as some small groups relaxing in the spacious backyard. On top of the comfortable, seasonal seating, our server was extremely friendly, leaving us with the obvious fact that this was just such a welcoming spot. Throughout my few hours there, I indulged in several beverages, including a custom cocktail composed of mescal and Aperol. The mixture had been offered as either a martini or on the rocks. I wisely selected to have it served in a small glass with ice, as it was a pretty potent drink already. For some reason, I had never considered a combination on the smoky mescal and herbaceous red liqueur, but the flavors truly complimented each other. I also loved the tart and rich Cherry Stout from Bell's Brewery in Comstock, Michigan. The dark brew had a reddish tinge and undertones of dark chocolate and ripe fruit. In fact, the beer was apparently infused with 100% Montmorency cherries that were locally grown to the brewery. My mouth was watering from decadent menu offerings, such as Deep-Fried Deviled Eggs and a Buffalo Chicken Pot Pie, but I wanted something lighter. I was also trying to cut down on my red meat intake, so I anticlimactically selected the BBQ Tofu Sandwich. I know you are all groaning at this, but it was not bad! A large hamburger bun was stuffed with two large slabs of BBQ-smoked tofu, lettuce, tomato, and slaw. I was able to substitute the traditional French fries with indulgent Bourbon Sweet Potato Mash and then still had my choice of a second side dish. I wanted to keep my meal as lean as possible, so went with the Corn Succotash, which included peppers and tomatoes within the cob-less kernels. With its appropriate name based on influences from differing regions of the US, Northern Bell served up the comforting flavors of the South with the Northern flair of hipster Brooklyn. It was a fun place with terrific service and great food. read more

I was so nervous that I would never find a bar/restaurant with a beer/food selection that exceeds my standards - until I came here. They don't have a beer menu, they have a beer bible! They have a huge rotating draft list in addition to a gazillion more beers that are separated by style. I've seen many of my old favorites on there and have discovered some new favorites too. They have this crazy cool deal where they give you a shot of house and liquor and a pint of beer (their choice) for I believe $10? You can't go wrong with that. Whenever you're planning to explore most of their extensive beer menu, it's smart to have something to eat as well. Their bacon Mac N Cheese is great for soaking up alcohol, and it's also delicious too. They also have a backyard for the summertime if you want to sit outside. I will always return to Northern Bell! read more
