This review is LONG overdue... I've been coming here for over 10 years... and the consistency of the burgers is amazing!!! Never a bad burger, never cooked wrong, never an mis-order, and varying sides makes this bar the go-to -spot for local burgers! I have brought all of my close friends here and every last one always asks when we having burgers again. But this is a BAR with food, so when it's busy...seating is limited, they usually have outdoor seating in spring/summer. This is a 49ers bar for those into football... so 49Er gang or go home. Most people drink beer at this establishment... which would explain why as an avid margarita connoisseur I did not like how they prepare their margaritas. But I can easily pivot and Martinis it is! I'm always extra and their pear martini is my fave... Harvest burger or blue cheese burger my go tos! I used to do the tater tots but now I take the kale and bun on the side... still soooo good. Stopped in here before going to Scrapple Land to Play some Pinball. Small, cozy enviornment, had an inside and outside section. What caught me off guard was how good the food was. The wings were amazing perfectly crisped outside still juicy and tender inside and sauces perfectly. The burgers in this place are another level though. I dont think you could choose a bad one. My Wife had the Mrs Chicken which was a grilled chicken with truffle aioli, bacon, portabella mushroom and pepper jack. The grilled chicken was nicely sliced instead of one big slab of chicken which allowed for all the flavors to come through on a nice fresg Ciabatta bread. Was walking around the area looking for a drink and found the brew inn - it seemed like a cool, lowkey neighborhood spot so we popped in. It definitely lived up to the neighborhood pub vibe, as the bartenders made us feel right at home despite us having never been! Your standard beer/drink selection, and while we weren't hungry, the food looked and smelled incredible.. the burgers looked top notch, the onion rings smelled amazing, the pretzels were huge. Originally, we hadn't intended on ending up at The Brew Inn. Our Plan A was to sample the vaunted Polish cuisine in the neighborhood. Unfortunately, both Polish restaurants we popped into had lengthy waits, and we had a choir concert to attend. Fortunately, my trusty Yelp app steered me to this bar, just a block away from our ultimate destination. We poked our heads in and discovered the bar was pretty buzzing, but there were several seats available in the dining area toward the back. It took us several minutes to ascertain that there was no host. I patiently waited to catch the attention of one of the fellows behind the bar, inquired if they were serving food, and he directed us to seat ourselves. We snagged a table and patiently waited another several minutes until a bartender dropped by with a bottle of water and some glasses. We asked if they had a menu; several more minutes went by and he eventually returned with them. They seemed to have a decent beer selection, but my dining companion wasn't drinking, so I followed suit -- we each ended up ordering a burger. Fast forward about thirty minutes, and we were starting to get concerned that we'd have to leave for our show before our food had arrived. The bartender dropped by again and I inquired if the burgers were on their way. He explained they usually take about 25-30 minutes. We'd already hit that mark, but we were optimistic that it meant our food would be our shortly. Another solid 10-15 minutes went by before he returned with our orders in hand. Admittedly, my burger was flawless. Juicy, cooked to a perfect medium, and quite substantial. Bonus points for a fluffy bun that held up well to its ample contents. The side of tots were also superb, and I liked that they offered squeeze bottles of ketchup and some kind of chipotle mayo. Sadly, we did end up having to rush out and I forewent the last of my tots. Thoroughly enjoyable bar food. Casual atmosphere. This is probably a great place if you don't face any time constraints. I could imagine it being a chill local joint to catch up with friends. For our specific purposes that evening, the lengthy gap between ordering and receiving our food caused us anxiety. Caveat emptor. read more

As a Greenpointer for over a decade, I have been to Brew Inn dozens of times. Honestly, this less-than-good review is not about the quality of the food, which is usually quite good. Nor is this about the service, which is what you'd expect for a Brooklyn pub -- slow, bartender(s) chatting with friends and staring at their phones instead of actually serving. Standard, though no big deal. This is about how expensive The Brew Inn has gotten in just the last several months. I realize there is inflation and the price of things has gone up, but how do you justify pricing a burger at $17 just a couple of months ago to increasing it to $22?!? That's almost a 33% increase in just a few weeks. And as if that wasn't slightly alarming to see, when the bartender gave me my initial check, it had the two beers and the burger I ordered along with the tax. Cool. I gave him my card and off he went. But when he came back there was a new, additional charge of $1.59 called a "Cust Serv Chg." Not that $1.59 is a ton of money but wth is it for? They've never done that before and it's like ... why?? I ate and drank there as usual -- so no delivery -- and there's a separate tip, as always, and it was only me, so why are you charging me more for the privilege of charging me more (see the above $5 price increase on a burger since January)? The bartender was friendly and helpful in assisting people with choosing drinks. The drink prices weren't bad. Bartender kindda tough with us especially one of my friend I don't know why and she is not happy about it. Came here on a whim since a lot of other places in the area are too pricey or just have drinks. I might not have even known this place was here had it not been for finding it on yelp. It's a small corner bar that has a cool vintage feel to it. There are a few tables in the back and along the wall opposite the bar. For drinks they have a number of beers and cocktails and some beer mixed drinks. I got the shandy (lemonade and lager) so that was pretty good. For dinner my friend and I split a burger which was perfect since it was really big. It comes with a side and we went with the tater tots! Yeah! Then we got an order of the pirogies as well, which is a nod to the large polish community in Greenpoint. They were very tasty, as was the burger! The service was very friendly and pretty quick. I usually get the kale salad with kielbasa, and I cannot believe how much kielbasa is on that salad, not that I am complaining--they slice and fry it, I think? Amazing. A group of 4 went after a Komnata Escape game in a Saturday evening and were seated immediately. We were there during happy hour so you get a burger, side, and a PBR/Narragansett for one price. One person got the Kielbasa Rueben with tots and said that it was good and came with almost too much meat like that exists! Three of us got burgers. They were loaded with a variety of toppings (bacon, arugula, cheese ahhhh) and were HUGE in size. Both guys got tots and loved them and I had the kale which was surprisingly good (a little over salted but I've got a heavy salt hand myself) The spot is barely noticeable - a simple spot on the corner that could go unnoticed but once you guy inside you realize you've found a gem.
