My husband and I recently held our wedding reception party at SLT, and could not have been happier with the entire experience. We live in the neighborhood and have been coming to SLT for drinks and food for a while (always great!). Mike was our point of contact for the party, and was incredibly easy to work with - really took the stress out of wedding planning! We had around 50 guests for our party, and the back room felt comfortable and great for a party our size. Our goal was to be as low key as possible, and the room really didn't require anything from us except our guests - no decorations needed. Mike was on site day of, which was awesome, and the entire SLT team provided great service. We're so glad that we were able to celebrate this special day at SLT and wouldn't have changed a thing. read more

I looooove SLT. The owner Mike is incredibly kind and treats us like family every time we eat or walk by with our dog (this bar is at the end of the block from our apartment!). The waiter we always see is a serious bundle of southern joy. Their food is 10/10. Their drinks are out of this world. Highly recommend their spicy jalapeño margarita which didn't make the covid menu but will hopefully be back soon! Their southern peach cocktail is also fantastic. Not to mention, their outdoor seating and general environment during covid is accommodating, comfortable, and clean. I'm writing about the cafe next door, not the main restaurant. This place is beautiful, the food items I've had so far are good, the music is good, and while the coffee is nothing special it isn't harsh or bitter like it is in so many places nearby. I think it might be my favorite place to sit and work in the whole neighborhood. If they dropped the QR code nonsense and had real menus it would be a super classy place (and I'd know what they had for lunch). read more

As a disclaimer: my company had their holiday party here in the back room (although I ended up spending a substantial amount of time in the main bar area as well - more on that later), and from the looks of it the catering menu is completely different than the regular brunch/dinner menu here, so take with a grain of salt. I really liked the ambiance of the back room! Cozy but spacious, it easily housed our group of 20-30 people, and there's a private bar in the back, so the service is great. Was not very jazzed about the food though - the fries were amazing and the shrimp po boys were pretty good (albeit the bread to shrimp ratio was not ideal), but everything else was underwhelming. Silver Light Tavern let us invite our own live music though, which was awesome. Probably the best part of the night (along with the incredible cookies our office manager ordered from Patisserie Tomoko down the block). We eventually moved to the main bar later in the night, which was quiet but had good vibes (and is fairly large, so seating shouldn't really be an issue even when it gets crowded). Would definitely come back for group drinks if I was in the area. I will also give a shoutout to the bartender Stuart here, who was very patient and nice to us even after one of my coworkers succumbed to the last round of shots and had to be forcibly coaxed out of the bathroom after 90 minutes. read more

I was sitting at my table gazing out the window at passersby as they went about their weekend rituals. Suddenly, I saw them. Those glorious golden-brown goddesses nestled comfortably in a sterling white porcelain bowl. Shimmering with perfectly ground grains of the finest sea salt. The minute they met my tongue, it was pure ecstasy. Crisp, toned exterior with the perfectly softened Idaho potato interior. I will never know a love so true or so pure for the rest of my days. But on the real, this place is dope. The staff is all super nice and the food is great. If you live in the neighborhood you'll definitely want to make it a regular spot. Perfect neighborhood bar for just about any occasion, actually. I met a friend for a quick drink, but we ended up staying for hours as the food, decor, and service were all flawless. A friendly conversation with the owner revealed how thoroughly thought out everything is - from the material used for the bar ("not cold on your elbows, but also porous so that it doesn't retain heat if you're leaning on it for a while..."), to the the lighting, food, and flow...it's all perfect. But apparently there's plenty of improvements still coming! We've experienced Silver Light as both guests at the bar and event hosts and we can't say enough wonderful things about this place and the owner, Mike! The tavern is located right east of McCarren Park on a quiet Williamsburg street, close enough to be easily accessible but far enough from Bedford to avoid tourist overload. We would recommend SLT for a casual drink, dinner, date night and especially if you're thinking of hosting a small - medium size event. The food is fantastic, do not miss out on the lamb ribs! The drink menu offers something for any desire you might have and the staff is friendly, approachable and knowledge about everything on their menu. We were lucky enough to find SLT about a week after it opened and to be among the first to host an event there for our wedding weekend. Mike went above and beyond to make sure all of our guests felt welcome and we felt like it was a true celebration. The back room was perfect and provided us with both privacy and comfort for our 60-70 guests. Silver Light Tavern is a really nice place. The decorations and layout are beautiful. I tried a salad that was nice and fresh. I was there for the comedy show that I think happens once or twice a month. The decor, and the food and drinks are perfect, it just needs more people to show up. The back room where the show happened is great and I like how it's tucked away from where the bar is. I remember the door being a curtain. I thought that was pretty cool. I was there to see Liz Miele, but the other comics on the lineup were also pretty good. Totally worth $10 because it came with a free drink! I probably had three more! read more

Amazing! Mike and the team have done a killer job creating an inviting, warm, and modern space on a quiet residential street in Wburg. The interior is impeccably designed, with a gorgeous horseshoe-shaped bar and plenty of booths, high tops, and seating for every possible group combo. Drinks were amazing also. Tried a few things including the Dandelion Wine (I think that was the name) which was unique and delightful. Didn't get to try the food but the menu looked oh so good. HIGHLY recommend this spot if you live in the area or if you want an excuse to venture to the best part of Brooklyn. Huge props to the team here! Will be back many times. read more

Oh yeah, this is a great quiet, clean, fancy bar. There are many places to sit and they all have different noise levels. You can take a table in the corner, back area, or at the bar right in the middle of everything. The cocktails are so incredible. They're decently priced and unique. We tried a banana bitters cocktail and a pistachio-rimmed cocktail, both of which were delicious and strange. Our waitress was the most incredible human. She was delightful, funny, and interesting. She was always checking on us to make sure we were okay and she was prompt with our orders. We all wanted to be friends with her. Everything is clean and nicely-lit. Every staff member I interacted was kind, considerate, and helpful. The bathrooms were cool. They're all gender-neutral and spotlessly clean. I was so impressed with this place and very happy it opened up. You bet I'll be back! read more

Was there on a Thursday evening. Restaurant was mostly empty. Got drinks at the bar and then asked the bartender if we could get a table and order food. Sat and waited...no service. Had to go back to the bar to ask the bartender to send over the server. Server came and we ordered. Throughout the evening we had to flag him down for EVERYTHING! He was distracted and possibly high but who am I to judge, I just want water with my food. The food was meh. Burger was slightly cold, the cheese was a bit hard and not melted. Really hope they can do something about the service. The space is nice although the booth we sat in had lots of stains; would recommend getting the fabric cleaned often read more

The team at Silverlight is the definition of above and beyond. Kristina helped me plan and execute the most perfect baby shower. She was incredibly responsive via email. On the day of the event she was incredibly attentive and so kind and accommodating. She made sure no detail was left unattended. Ben made sure the party had the best hand crafted cocktails! The food was as delicious as ever! We snacked on charcuterie, deviled eggs, and mozzarella sticks followed by an array of entrees off the brunch menu. Classic Neighborhood Tavern Feel w/ Progressive Design and Cuisine. It's hard to find anything not to love about this place. Food is great and diverse with everything from a vegan sloppy joe to a classic burger and everything in between - all very reasonably priced for the neighborhood. Space is beautifully designed but not pretentious. You can tell that someone put a lot of love into this place as every little detail has been thought through. There's also a nice mix of seating. We sat at the bar but there were small tables in the main room with lots of natural light, a big private dining space in the back and outdoor tables on the patio. Service was thoughtful and genuine. Bartenders were happy and attentive while dancing to some good tunes. I went for dinner but will absolutely be back for brunch. read more

Been there with other couples, groups, with our child, with other fams, etc. They're SUPER inviting and it just really feels like they're treating you like you're their family/friends. We hadn't been since pre-pandemic and this weekend I booked a resy for my partner's bday for him and his friends. They had a blast and were all were so comfortable and well taken care of! This place is really transformative and beautiful, in a really interesting location in Williamsburg, and I appreciate how friendly they are. Plates are all small; I had a steak that was rather solid; some other dishes needed salt and seasoning, but weren't bad. Their cocktails don't always hit the mark, surprisingly. It is a limited selection, and occasionally drinks combine flavors like nuttiness and citrus and umami and sugar...that, quite honestly, are horrendous (stay faaaaaar away from the Sal Paradise, holy shit.) This is more a place to get a beer or order a classic cocktail like a martini or old-fashioned that's hard to mess up. They seem to have good intentions, and I'm rooting for this place, but they should look to what local bars like Fresh Kills, Achilles Heel, and Westlight are doing in terms of "mixology". read more
