The Brussels sprouts are incredible! We came for brunch, enjoyed the afternoon at their heated outdoor tables, and stuck around until their menu switched so we could get them. Totally worth the wait! We had a landmark birthday party in early Feb. for my wife in the back room it was fantastic. Great vibe - not too fussy and not too dive-bar. The drinks were great and when the party got going we sparked the disco ball, it was a smashing success. We had about 50 guests, brought in our own DJ, enjoyed their terrific food (schnitzel and sliders plus all four sides - do not skip the shrimp or fired cauliflower). Bar service was quick, their custom cocktails were a hit and they printed up a personalized menu for the tables which was a sweet touch. The staff were easy to deal with before the event and during. To be honest, I was so happy I didn't have to think or sweat too much in advance, they made me feel confident and kept to it. Came here for brunch on a Sunday afternoon and was seated immediately because there's was an empty table. However, we sat at the table for about 30 minutes before our order was taken. We then waited another half an hour or so before our food was served. We sat at this table for about an hour before we got the food. The portion sizes were small for the price, and we were all still hungry after finishing the food. I got the Breakfast Fried Rice and it doesn't seem like the establishment understands the difference between "fried" rice and "stale" rice. The coffee and eggs were decent, but the service was disappointing and the wait was unacceptable. In this neighborhood, there is no reason for us to ever come here for brunch again. read more

Before I get to the bad I just want to highlight that the service was very friendly and attentive. And now for the bad...The portions are unbelievably small...and this is coming from a 5ft 2in petite girl. Everyone in my party of 6 were in disbelief how small the portions were...What is this a breakfast for ants?! The food also left much to be desired. I got the SLT breakfast which is supposed to have "soft scrambled eggs" but the eggs I got were a hard scramble. (Which I don't mind but then don't advertise it as a soft scramble) The baguette with "tomato jam" was also a sad piece of untoasted baguette with tomato purée on it. The only saving grace was the bacon, but how can you get bacon wrong. We came in with high hopes but unfortunately left disappointed and hungry. read more

Nice to see another building in the neighborhood get brought back to life. Great space with plenty of room and nice accents throughout. The skylights and tin ceiling in the back room were beautiful. I had the fish and hush puppies which were outstanding and my husband's burger was cooked medium just the way he likes it. We have loved Silver Light Tavern for years, and just held our wedding brunch here - it was one of our favorite parts of the weekend! Kristina was amazing to coordinate with.- responsive, flexible, and very welcoming. The space was excellent for a large group, the food platters were delicious and set up beautifully for people to come and go throughout the morning, and the price was great for the area. And the food is delicious- and super accommodating for my family's vegetarian diet. Incredible happy hour, beautiful environment, 10/10 staff who are friendly and make you feel at home. Great patio (dog friendly). Usually able to get bar seating and they also have booths - good for groups. It's just what this little corner of my neighborhood needed! Have yet to try the brunch, but the menu looks incredible. I went here to get food for the first time and I was disappointed. My wife and I got some small plates to split and we were underwhelmed. While it all tasted decently, there was something off about each dish. The denver ribs in particular were an extremely small portion for the price...literally one rib for $15!! Issues with the other dishes: The greens in the Tavern salad were wilted as though still dressed from brunch service. The mussels and fries come with the usual crusty bread--however what is probably a delicious bread for dipping in broth is placed in the bottom of the bowl, and thus a mushy unappetizing mess by the time you get to it. It's a cheap trick to make the bowl appear filled with mussels and keep the fries from soaking in the broth. Dirty another plate to give the mussels their own bowl. Lastly, the fondue. It was a yummy cheese concoction but could stand to add a few more pretzel bites (3-4) to use up all that great cheese. It just doesn't make sense that the small plates are pretty much the same price as the entrees, but with much less food. I had to grab a sandwich on the way home because I was still hungry....I wont be going back here again. read more

Great new spot for everything from a cozy date night to a private party. The design is gorgeous - it's got a back room with exposed brick, skylights and tin ceiling (this part can be reserved for parties & has it's own bar) while the front room has a central bar as well as tables. I loved the food - especially the fish and hush puppies and crispy veggies. But really - let's talk cocktails: The Noble Call is a ginger/lemon/bourbon/brown ale drink that sounded terrific since I was fighting a cold, but turned out to be delicious no matter how you're feeling. My friends also loved the Chantilly Lace and So Long Sal. The bartenders really took care in making each cocktail well. Everyone was friendly - I'd like to check out their coffee bar some morning as well. read more

This is a new place, which has been thoughtfully renovated. There is a tin ceiling that wraps around to the wall, dark wood banquets, and some exposed brick and leftover distressed walls--sort of classic, charming, with just a little edge. There are two bars here. The front space is welcoming, and the back room is cozy, has a skylight, and would be great for a party. Nice beer list. The cocktails look good too, but I haven't tried one yet. The food is classic, but with a bit of imagination (burgers, steaks, a good number or vegetarian options... try the fried broccoli... addictive). I understand that the back room turns into a coffee bar during the day, but I have not been in for coffee yet. This is a promising start. read more

Living out of NYC, Kristen and Mike have been nothing but accommodating and supportive as we navigate wedding planning and now COVID-19 cancellations. They are being incredibly flexible, especially for a small business, which only made me feel more secure and excited to host our event with them. Really great new spot in the neighborhood. I love the design of the central bar in the front room. It's a huge space with a lot of character. I liked their beer list and had a pasta entree that was wonderful (it had something crunchy like toasted breadcrumbs that reminded me of noodles my grandma made me). The back room was a big surprise. It's a great space, semi private and would be good for private events (not sure if they do that, but I'm always looking for event spaces!). We'll definitely be back. read more

Love this place so far! My friend and I each had a cocktail and a beer that were all reasonably priced- I especially like the cocktail that had pistachio vodka. For food we had the salmon tartare and the cauliflower sloppy joe. Both were excellent and we ate every bite! The portions were...not large, but seemed fair for the price at a nice spot like this.
