We came with a party of 3 Saturday night with no reservation but we were able to get a table near the window which was great. - Fried Chicken Box - One of the best fried chicken I've had in New York so far. The breading was incredibly light and airy while having a nice bite to it. The chicken was incredibly juicy and it almost felt like you were drinking chicken broth at some points. We ordered the Smoked Pork Collards for the side and this was great too. It didn't have a lot of pulled pork in it but the collards with its slight tang greatly counteracted the fattiness of the chicken. I didn't care much for the biscuit. - Chicken Sandwich - I appreciated the hot honey on the fried chicken as it gave it another dimension of flavor. We ended up just deconstructing this sandwich when we ate it. - Chicken & Waffles - Honestly if you're not a big fan of waffles, I would recommend just skipping this and getting the fried chicken box. The fried chicken type is the same essentially with the addition of waffles. I will say that the waffles were pretty good and I appreciate the chunks of blueberry fruit in the jam. - Sour Cherry Pear Pie - This was one great pie as I loved how the crust was a bit crumbly and not too sweet. There was a lady with the army fatigue jacket with earrings on her lip and long hair and glasses, and she didn't greet me, but whenever everyone else came in after me, she greeted and explained the menu too. THE WORST! I have ordered 3 times this month. They have gotten the order wrong 2 OUT OF 3 TIMES! The first order there was no cornbread so they said they would refund me, which never happened. Then, I ordered the Fried Chicken box today--cheating on my usually vegan and fish diet--and SPECIFICALLY asked for 2 drumsticks and a thigh. Because I know they f up orders a lot, I called as soon as I hit order on UberEats and they girl assured me they would send what I asked. So why did the order come with what appeared to be 2 breasts and a drumstick?? I've had their fried chicken, biscuits, honey butter, chicken biscuit sandwich, cinnamon roll, and toffee donut, and all are great choices! Don't be afraid of the hot sauce. It is very mild and is a delicious combination with the honey butter on the chicken biscuit. Service and experience eating in was lackluster. The restaurant is very small and they pack the tables in. I only saw one waiter servicing tables so she was understandably very busy. We did not receive our drinks that we ordered with the food until the meal was almost finished, and I had to search for more water. However, the food was so good I didn't mind. Next time I go back, I'll get it to go and eat at the playground/plaza a block away. That way it'll still be nice and hot while I eat it, but will have a little more space to spread out and enjoy. read more
