BEST FRIED CHICKEN EVER!!!! Only been here once and cannot wait to go back. Perfectly fried chicken thighs, delicious fries, AMAZING homemade ranch dressing. Great great great service. Cannot wait for round two. Nice and quiet at lunchtime on a weekday. Clean bathroom.

Dropped by for dinner with my boyfriend after a candlelight concert nearby and Sweet chick will always be my favorite southern comfort food restaurant of all time. 5 stars everytime! He ordered the fish sandwich, while I opted for the traditional chicken sandwich. We also got the grits, and a chocolate chip waffle. I ordered the "sweet chick" drink which they took off the menu, but the server offered to make it for me which was very sweet. I did not catch his name but he was very lovely and attentive. Everything was fresh and delicious and we had leftovers to take home as well. I love sweet chick forever!

Chicken sandwich was amazing! I did takeout and then went to prospect park to eat since it was nearby.

We had the chicken and fries around 8pm. The waiter had his earbuds on and on the phone while taking our order. Therefore our orders were wrong. Food itself is okay for chicken in the area but nothing of great note. I personally wouldn't try again.

This was my first time at this location, and it definitely didn't disappoint. The BLT sandwich was amazing. The chicken was crispy, and all the flavors worked together wonderfully. The mac and cheese was not good. It needed salt and flavor. Next time, I am going to get the fries and try a drink. The service was great, even though it was busy. The ambiance is laid back and cute.

Beautiful box for the bone in 3piece and biscuit

I was not able to find this spot on Grubhub but thankfully the restaurant lets you order straight from their website. So boom, the first time I went in the store (super cute) You can sit inside or outside but it's like an open concept so that's pretty cool. I picked up a quick lil 5piece wings (maple chipotle) they are not breaded and without needing to mention extra crispy they were great! So I'm working in Brooklyn and said let me get some chicken on this beautiful Friday! I order the classic bone in 3 piece w. A biscuit and a side of Brussels because hello can't eat all my cals before the weekend even begins! I prefer mine w. A bite to them but they were more soft and a bit soggier than expected although the flavor was definitely on point! The chicken, this bone in chicken! Was DIVINE, like legit crunchy crispy NOT soggy well seasoned best chicken I've had in a while. See pics to follow. Next that biscuit was melt in your mouth didn't even need any butter (which they graciously included) soft middle w. Crisp outside but it did come with an apple butter that had me sliding the last piece of this biscuit around the container to finish it all up !!

I ordered the bone in chicken and waffles. Everything was made fresh and came out nice and hot. The waffles were fluffy and served with this delicious flavored butter. The chicken looks better then it tasted. It said it was Nashville hot flavor but it didnt really come thru for me. The flavored homemade lemonades are fire. I like the decor and the staff was super friendly. My brother ordered the fish sandwich and absolutely loved it. We were a little hungry still and ordered some tenders those were really good. I think I prefer it over the bone In. They have indoor and outdoor sidewalk seating and they sell alcohol.

In the actual south, serving biscuits and gravy this bad is a jailable offense without parole.

We spent $78 on food that was inedible, then had to go elsewhere to eat. My wife and I came here to eat two weeks ago (Saturday September 13th). It took about five minutes for anyone to acknowledge our presence, despite several employees standing around; this should have been our first sign to leave, but we were excited about Bloody Marys and biscuits and gravy, so we gave them the benefit of the doubt. BIG mistake. The first person who acknowledged our presence flailed their arms in the direction of the dining floor and said, "Sit anywhere!" There was no signage anywhere to indicate that guests should seat themselves, and they had ample opportunity to tell us this before but just decided not to. It took more than four more minutes for us to get menus, which was our second sign that we should have left to eat elsewhere. Foolishly we did not. One of the servers made eye contact and smiled at us at least six times while she was casually strolling around the restaurant talking to people, but she refused to speak with us or give us menus. Finally the gentleman behind the bar brought us our menus. But no water. No discussion of drinks or what we wanted. Meanwhile, people who had walked in after us were seated by the other server and given menus and water right away. SIX MINUTES LATER (I was timing everything at this point, because I just couldn't believe how long everything was taking) our server returned. He asked what we wanted to drink and we said "Bloody Marys!" What we'd been looking forward to since we first read about this place! We were then informed that they did not have Bloody Marys. "Oh, did you run out today? Popular drink?" "No, this location has never had Bloody Marys," he said. "I don't know why they don't take them off the menu." This was the third sign that we should have left to eat elsewhere, but we did not. I asked for a "tequila sunrise with mezcal" and he said, "Oh that's not on the menu, let me see if we can make it." A tequila sunrise consists of three ingredients. Tequila, Orange Juice and Grenadine. I wanted it with mezcal instead of tequila. I could see with my very own eyes that there was mezcal, Orange Juice and Grenadine. They were all also listed on the menu. Our server confirmed that the other server could make such a beverage, and I reminded him "With mezcal please!" and I heard him tell her twice "With mezcal." Somehow I got a drink with no mezcal in it. And look, I get it! Some restaurants do not allow substitutions. But if you don't allow substitutions, just say "We don't allow substitutions." Don't say you're going to make it the way I want, and then fail to do so. Moving on -- we ordered our meal: I ordered biscuits and gravy with cheddar on top, and my wife ordered a breakfast burrito. "Cheddar on top, I got you man," our server lied. More interminable time passed before our cocktails arrived, then more interminable time before the food arrived. As soon as it got there I noticed the complete lack of cheddar. Again, I get it! Some restaurants do not allow substitutions. But if you don't allow substitutions, just say "We don't allow substitutions." Don't say "Cheddar on top, I got you man," And then fail to put the cheddar on top. Then I tasted the food, and I knew we had royally screwed up by choosing Sweet Chick. The biscuits and gravy were so salty that I only had two bites. The breakfast burrito, on the other hand, was so devoid of flavor that it too was inedible. The restaurant's staff took away both uneaten plates without questioning if there was an issue, and didn't give us an opportunity to raise any issues. In the end, we had to go eat somewhere else -- we paid for two meals that day just to eat one, because Sweet Chick couldn't provide the bare modicum of *AN EDIBLE MEAL.* We spent $78 on food that was inedible, and had to go elsewhere to eat. If Sweet Chick is happy with this mix of inedible slop and atrocious hospitality, then they need to admit they're just a junky fast food restaurant -- and drop the whole pretense of being a respectable dining establishment.

My team and I walked over here for lunch on Wednesday! The location is super cool and staff here is really nice! I also love brunch food. I felt like I had to order the chicken and waffles since everybody else was ordering it as well. The vanilla glaze on the waffle was fantastic! I got the Nashville hot tenders, but I think I wish I got the buffalo tenders instead. The Nashville hot was not spicy at all. I would try this place again though!

Update on food. They either have new staff or they just don't care about their food items. Once upon a time they had homemade biscuits that were drenched in honey and hot sauce. Now we have store bought(they better not lie and say these are homemade) biscuits with no honey and a pinch of hot sauce. I tried to give this place another chance given my previous issue was the nasty attitude having staff but I see there's no hope left.

Best sweet tooth night spot. Was looking for something sweet. Did not get pastries or ice cream however I got waffles. . I've had waffles before but something about their mix it was so delicious. . Just right on the sweet. So butter licking, you don't even need syrup. The margaritas strong but delicious. The lemonade drinks is the real lemonade drinks not to tangy or water down like some make it. My favorite is the art on the walls. I love to go into a restaurant and see the history. The staff were so friendly and the music was just right. Never had raspberry buttercream, tiny sweet but not for me. Ate my waffles as is. Prices not bad.

What are the COVID requirements? Can unvaccinated sit outside?

In NYC unvaccinated can only sit outside.

Is there room for a group of 10 people?

Hi yes but at different tables.

Do they take reservations or only walk ins?

    They take walk ins!

    Is outdoor sitting available now?

    Yes

    Are they closed:(?

    Not anymore!

Is gratuity added automatically or do they give you an option?

    Optional

    Does sweet Chick deliver?

Yes they do. Within 23 to 34 mins

Can you just order waffles without chicken at dinnertime?

I’m sure they can. I believe they had just waffles. However their menu should be reviewed just in case they update.

Do you have bottomless brunch for Saturday i.e. mimosas or rum punch?

    No they don't do bottomless

Wondering if there's an option to get boneless chicken with your waffle?? Or is it all drums/thighs/wings?

You can get boneless chicken if you request it.... just ask the waiter

What's a good time to go for brunch on Saturday morning since SweetChick doesn't do reservations?

Early when the establishment first open or after 4:00pm.

Will it be a wait for 4 people on April 13 2018 at around 3 pm?

Possibly cause it's a start off to the weekend. The good thing is if you do have to wait, they have a great system where they can reach you via text when your table is ready so you don't have hang around.

I chose this place because I had visited a few times in the past and expected a positive environment. While there, I ran into an old friend who was accompanying individuals with special needs. They informed us about the R&B karaoke event, and we attempted to participate respectfully and supportively. Unfortunately, after participating, the DJ became rude and dismissive. My friends decided not to continue because each time they attempted to request a song, the DJ was unkind and impatient, seemingly unaware--or unconcerned--that they were individuals with special needs. The situation escalated when I attempted to calmly address the disrespect. Instead of listening, the bartender repeatedly accused me of being drunk simply because I was defending myself after a rude comment. I was not intoxicated; I was advocating for respectful treatment. Even the DJ's own companion appeared visibly shocked by the comment made toward me, as if anticipating a reaction. I remained composed and professional despite being deeply upset. What disappointed me most was the staff's decision to defend the DJ's behavior rather than acknowledge how inappropriate and disrespectful the interaction was. This reflects poorly on how this establishment treats people--especially those who deserve patience, understanding, and dignity. I came expecting an enjoyable brunch experience and left feeling ashamed for having trusted this place. It is clear that the venue prioritizes protecting mediocre DJs with minimal local popularity over treating customers with basic respect. Poor organization, lack of proper event management, and unprofessional staff behavior made this experience unacceptable. I have visited many establishments and have never felt so disrespected. I will not be returning.

TL;DR version- Some high highs and some very low lows. Hot Figs was a fun app. By a mile, the soups…read morewere the favorites, so I would recommend the Pepián or Caldo Tlalpeño Rojo. Nice happy hour and a large chocolate drink selection I was at this unique Guatemalan (ish) restaurant a while back with one of my groups. I said "ish" because the menu has dishes from all over, ranging from sandwiches to BBQ ribs to Guatemalan and Mexican soups. It's out there, and even though not everything works that well, it's fun, and if you can't find something you want to order here, you probably shouldn't go out to restaurants. There was also live jazz music that night, which was loud but nice to listen to. Since it was happy hour, a bunch of us got drinks. I went with a maracuya margarita, which was decent; someone else had a jalapeño margarita, someone had a beer, and someone had a mojito. There were a few nice hot sauces on the table, with the red one reminding me of salsa macha as it had a smoky kick and a spicier green sauce reminiscent of ají verde. They gave us some complimentary blue corn chips and a very mild black bean dip, which was tasty enough and hard to complain about, as it was free. From the appetizers, we got the Hot Figs for $15.95, consisting of honey goat cheese, corn tortilla chips, and plum + pumpkin seeds. This was a unique and fun blend and reminded me more of something you would find in a wine bar. The mix of sweet and salty, with a bit of crunch from the seeds, was nice. This was good, and I would recommend it for a table rather than for a solo diner. There was also The Zingy Salad for $21.95, featuring zucchini spirals, yuzu, tomato, onion, cilantro, pumpkin seeds, and a jalapeño infusion. $18.95. The salad was fine with a bit of crunch and a mild spiciness. It was fine, though a bit wet, for lack of a better word. The best dishes of the night were the soups, which each had its own distinct flavor profile. My sight presence went to the Pepián for $21.95, consisting of chicken, pumpkin/sesame seeds, green tomatillo, cinnamon, cumin, black pepper, carrots, chili coban/pasta/guaque, and potato + rice. There was plenty of tender chicken inside, with the soup having a nice roasted flavor with some spice and a bit of sourness. The potatoes and rice on the bottom added more sustenance to this dish. Almost equally delicious was the Caldo Tlalpeño Rojo for a dollar more with shredded chicken, tomato, black pepper, garlic, onions, peas, chickpeas, corn, achiote, chipotle, Monterey jack cheese, and crunchy blue corn tortilla chips. By comparison, this was a bit heartier, with the melted cheese and shredded tortilla chips inside, similar to soups found in Mexican cuisine. While I also liked the mix of veggies a bit more in this one, as it added a bit more texture, I still slightly preferred the flavor of the other soup, as I usually prefer a bit more spice. The rest of the food was fine. The TPC sandwich for $19.95 with chicken, peanut butter, coconut cream, ginger, cilantro, pickled carrots, and lime was fine. For the number of ingredients, I found it a bit sweet, likely from the cream and the peanut butter mix. The bread was nice, but it also fell apart. It came with a nice side salad with a good vinaigrette. The most expensive at $24.95 were the Slow Cooked BBQ Ribs, consisting of baby back ribs with rice and beans. The ribs were almost a bit too tender as they lacked any bite, which was nice, but the sauce was a bit too generic tasting, reminding me of Sweet Baby Ray's or something similar. The rice and beans were standard. This was also OK. Next came some dessert. There was first the $12.95 Rosemary Churros served with dulce de leche & chocolate dips. While I'm not sure if it worked, the rosemary did add a unique smell and a bit of flavor, and at least it wasn't generic. The churros themselves were hot, and the sauces were standard, with my preference being the dulce de leche. I also ordered a Champurrado for $7.95, which was fine. It wasn't as thick as I expected, though perhaps the style is a bit different than the champurrados I rarely buy from Mexican street carts. The chocolate flavor was very nice, though, and I like that it wasn't too sweet. Another person got a $4 Alfajor, which I got a bite of, which was standard. This place is a bit hard to rate. The two soups were wonderful, I liked the appetizers, and I found a couple of the other dishes just OK. Overall, it was a good meal, but I'm not craving to go back. This would be the perfect 3.5, but I'll round up as that doesn't exist.
