I was definitely excited that this location opened up since the Williamsburg location is pretty far out for me. Anywhere, Sweet Chick hands down has the best Chicken Waffles in Brooklyn! Always cooked to perfection and it goes well with a bozy lemonade. During the pandemic, an outside stand for takeout was generated called "Lil Sweet Chick" where you able to order food and drinks to go. Recently, I was able to dine in after presenting my covid vaccine card and ID. Then I was directed to have a seat and scan the barcode plastered on the table for the menu. I was able to order and pay for my meal using the barcode which was pretty convenient. My food came out directly to me in a reasonable amount of time , however, there was a huge delay with my beverage. Although the contactless ordering is convenient, I miss the interactions of having a waiter/waitress approach you periodically to ask if everything is okay and to refill your water. All tables were distant from each other due to social distancing. I'm excited that this location offers Uber Eats; I will definitely be taking advantage of that. So sweet chick is sweet chick the chicken is amazing. But personally don't care for this location out of all of them. I go to them all pretty frequently but this location I'm always met with static when I ask for alterations. Even when they are not busy. I hate salads that are not already tossed which is the case at this location. I also always ask and don't mind paying extra for maple chipotle chicken over my salad which the other locations have no issue doing free of charge. I had to pay for extra dressing , maple chipotle sauce . It's just not the experience I'm going for and I get the same thing at all locations so when craving that specifically I will not be coming back to this location. Sweet Chick has been on my radar for a while now so when my Brunch buddy asked if I wanted to have brunch here, I told her that I was down. I wanted a chance to eat indoor since Governor Cuomo put a halt on that for the foreseeable future. She had been here before and was hoping to get the steak and eggs but they have trimmed their menu so the steak and eggs were not available. She decided to get the Nashville chicken and waffles with a side of mac and cheese and frosé. I got the classic chicken and waffles with a side of mac and cheese and a mimosa--after all, brunch without alcohol is just breakfast. I should note that there was no waiter service--you get a table and walk up to the front to place your order and they give you a table number. They checked our temperature and we had to sign the log. The food and drinks were served in disposable containers--interestingly enough, the cup for my mimosa was in a 16oz cup--I'm not complaining! Anyway, back to the food. My chicken and waffles came with a side of lemon-flavored butter which was slightly sweetened. I never had it before but I like it. The chicken was well seasoned and came with a side of hot sauce. Cutting the chicken with plastic knife and fork is not the easiest thing to do but I made do. She really liked her Nashville chicken and waffles--she said that they were not stingy with the cayenne pepper. The mac and cheese was good--not great but good. She said that it tasted better before but it was okay. I think the highlight for her was the frosé--for her, it was good to the last drop. All in all, I enjoyed my time at Sweet Chick. The staff was helpful and I did observe them sanitizing after guests. They adhered to the rules regarding Covid-19. I hope they can weather this storm.
