Really love the old school American diner vibes! I come here fairly often with my friends, usually late night, and the food is generally pretty decent. Service is fast and all the workers are quite friendly. There are definitely some things that stand out more than others, like the chipotle chicken panini, milkshake, the decker sandwiches, and all the alcoholic drinks I've tried so far. It can definitely be hit or miss though, like sometimes the fries are underdone. I think the hollandaise on an eggs benny can say a lot and I'd say this was up there with taste and quality. I asked for onions and tomatoes instead of home fries and it was perfectly salty. Three Decker is very much a "know what you're getting into" place. It is a diner, with a massive menu, large portion sizes, and it keeps everything simple. You're not going to walk out blown away by the flavor odyssey your taste buds just went on, but if you go in with the right attitude I promise this is a 5 star experience. I've been here several times, most recently I had the meatball sub with disco fries and a martini, and it was exactly what I needed at that moment. The meatball sub had a great meatball-sauce-cheese ratio and the disco fries are some of my favorite cheese fries in the city -- and that's not something I say lightly. On a trip here a while back I got a waffle with ice cream on it because that's what my soul needed that day. Service can be a tad slow but I love hanging out here because it has a lovely diner ambiance and is never too loud to have a great conversation with friends. I came here on Saturday afternoon (Feb. 10) to catch-up with a friend. I can't tell you the last time I've eaten at a diner and I looked forward to breakfast at Manhattan Three Decker. The menu has tons of options and I opted for three eggs and kielbasa which is accompanied with home fries and toast (chose sourdough but I believe I was given white). The sliced cheese added flavor to the eggs that desperately needed salt and black pepper. (Rhetorical question: why not use shredded cheese and fold in the cheese versus plopping down a slice atop eggs? It screams afterthought, in my opinion.) The potatoes had good flavor but needed more sear as did the kielbasa. I like my breakfast meat cooked hard so I didn't really eat much of the sausage. Super busy and packed on nice weather Saturday morning. We went to the place and didn't be able to get in. We went home and order for delivery instead. Food came quickly but terrible packing. The juice from the food is leaking all over the paper bag and tare the bag. Delivery guy told me to call the restaurant if I have any problems with the food because the bag was leaking from the beginning. At least if they know there is a watery order, they should wrap the container up with plastic wrap to prevent the food break down the bag. I order steak and eggs; the steak has too much fat and potato are too soggy, meh. I went to eat there at least twice in past years and remember I wasn't crazy about the food but because I saw the place still there and want to give them a chance. Overall the experience is OK, the food isn't spectacular and the service can be slow. The patty melt is pretty basic, and the Turkey club the turkey was a bit dry. Also the menu didn't specify but my fries came out as steak fries, so if you want straw fries I would make sure to specify when you order. Definitely not terrible however but don't think that you will be blown away by anything. The real saving grace here is the prices, especially for this neighborhood its good to have an addition like this in the neighborhood when you have folks over for a basic breakfast or lunch. Not a step in a time machine by any means but it does remind me of pre-pandemic pricing. So for that they earned an extra star. I used to love coming here, but a rude server with clear glasses and a hair down to his neck with blond hair, gave my sisters and I the worst customer service. My sister was on the phone talking, he turns his neck and goes in a rude voice, could you lower that. My sisters and I ignore it until it's time for my little sisters breakfast. She's 9, i said to him what about my sisters cereal. He goes wait. He was doing nothing at that moment, but he goes to other people says side comments and rolled his eyes. I am truly disappointed by his actions. The lady in the back at the bar spoke to us and handled the situation calmly.
