Breakfast Burrito

A casual brekkie spot -- no wait, we just strolled in. Breakfast Burrito was solid, wish there was a little less egg and a little more vegetables but they were generous with avocado. Pancakes were fluffy, solid sharing item!

Officially my favorite smash burger to enjoy and recommend. The restaurant itself is small and intimate - just 5 tables and 10 seats - but we didn't wait long to be seated. Once inside, their speakers played early 2000s indie and electronic music with Crystal Castles, Justice, and LCD Soundsystem serving as the soundtrack. My wife and I ordered their burger: two smash patties made with a blend of short rib and brisket (yum), onion, American cheese, pickles, and we added bacon to it. For me, bread buns can make or break a smash burger, so I was relieved these two juicy patties came between warmly toasted and delicious potato buns. The fries basket was crispy, salty, and delicious. We are spoiled with many smash burger options in New York, and I can confidently say this one is at the top of its class.

I'm sorry... I don't get the hype. The interior is super small and cramped, outdoor seating is kind of run down (unless you're in the shelter). Breakup burrito was super bland. Eggs tasted like premixed carton eggs, beans were unseasoned, and bacon didn't really go well with the burrito. It's definitely better if you slather it in hot sauce. The servers are super attentive and nice, though the food leaves something to be desired. Do yourself a favor and check out one of the better breakfast burrito spots in Brooklyn.

Their breakfast sandwich is so good! The pancake ls are so fluffy. Don't be dumb like me and try to eat this like a sandwich, its way too messy and tall. Use a fork and knife.

Oh Boy is a casual Williamsburg cafe whipping up delicious American comfort food. We came by for breakfast and had the McGriddy, a McGriddle inspired breakfast sandwich, the Egg & Cheese sandwich with sausage and hash brown and Big Cheech featuring pork belly and roasted sweet potato. The photos do this place justice. The sandwiches were stuffed full of good stuff and were amongst the best breakfast sammies we've had in NYC. Can't wait to have anither hungover breakfast here

Breakup Burrito (takeout)

This review is for takeout, not dine in. Saw this place on Instagram awhile ago and had it bookmarked. Came on a Saturday morning around 1145am. There wasn't a line, though the tables instead were all full. Placed a takeout order - there are places to sit outside the restaurant to wait. Food came out pretty fast. All in all, I think it's worth checking out, but would def opt for the McGriddy. -McGriddy: enjoyed this and would order again. The pancake kind of reminds me of a combo pancake crumpet. Nice and soft. I will say that I LOVE the McDonald's sausage McMuffin and I actually think the sausage is more flavorful in the McDonald's one...(probably a contentious opinion). The sausage in the McGriddy wasn't very flavorful. -Breakfast Burrito: likely wouldn't order again. The sausage was lacking flavor and the meat to beans / burrito ratio was off. -Hashbrowns: comes with two round patties. I enjoyed these and would order again.

"The" best burger in New York for 2023

When there's a buzz about a new spot, I generally like to stop by and see what the hub bub is all about. I started seeing Ohboy pop up on a few social media pics and what I saw looked like a home run. I check the website and see Oh Boy is open for breakfast. I'm with my wife and she is hangry. I'm parking the car and doing the snoopy dance. Why? I'm here for one thing, the Mc.Griddy. It's the same breakfast sandwich McDonalds sells (Me personally, I would have called it the McDowell's) two pancake like buns with american cheese, 2 eggs and homemade oh boy sauce. Sounds like a plan right? We walk up and the place is closed at 10am?? I found the best parking spot in all of Brooklyn! We walk away all sad, no Oh Boy. I go back to social media, I'm watching videos of people dancing with an Oh Boy burger. Hmm.. I head back and see the windows and doors open. The restaurant has covered seating on the sidewalk as well. Lots of available seating, check. I walk in and approach the counter. A young man comes to the front and welcomes me. I ask for the Oh Boy burger and I read about a iced coffee with Oatmilk? Oh yes, it's my favorite I'm told. It comes with honey cinnamon syrup. That drink was bangin'! I sit at a table outside and my burger comes to me. The Oh Boy burger? I'm gonna make a bold statement, this is the best burger I had in 2023. The chef takes a quality potato roll and adds double smash patties with white onions. Now top this creation with american cheese, some pickles and all this comes together with the famous Oh Boy sauce. The OB sauce, its not for light hearted. It's zippy and cuts through the fatty burger. This handheld just works. It's a burger worth traveling to if you live in NYC. Get on a Citibike and make your way over the bridge. If you come in the morning, they might be closed, you're welcome.

Ordered delivery to try the burger. It was 2 patty's- so a lot more meat than what I'm used to on my smash burgers. I wish there was an option for 1 patty. The cheese was nice and melty but the oh boy sauce was a bit lost in flavor for me. Always love a good potato bun and I appreciated that the onions were squeezed between the two burger patties. I found this to be a pretty standard burger, nothing that has me running back for another. I still prefer 7th street but if you're in the area and needing a burger it's a solid option.

For my prior years living on Havemeyer Street, this was always my plan b coffee option when for whatever reason I didn't make it to one of my preferred spots. But now the fka Beck and Call has rebranded as Oh Boy, and Northerly Coffee has closed because its Turkish owner decided to relocate back to Türkiye after a decade on Havemeyer Street, and suddenly this modest cafe seems worth revisiting. I finally had a proper breakfast here in addition to just a coffee, and the egg and cheese on brioche with a hash brown added to the sandwich is everything you might seek in a hangover cure. I know their rip-off McGriddle has garnered more attention, but would you really trade in a luxurious brioche for flapjacks? Another sleeper hit is their watermelon lemonade, which tastes vaguely salted to me and is one of the most refreshing options on a hot summer day.

Oh Boy recently opened in Williamsburg. They also rebranded; used to be called Beck and Call. While they sold out over the weekend, I opted to visit during the week. I was greeted by Hunter who was very helpful while I was ordering. Ultimately I ordered their version of Mc. Donald's Mc. Griddle, which is called Mc.Griddy. The breakfast sandwich comes with 2 fluffy pancakes, american cheese, 2 eggs, homemade oh boy sauce, syrup and your choice of meat. I opted for the homemade pork sausage. Drink wise I went with Hunter's Honey which was iced dark roast coffee, oat mlk and honey cinnamon syrup. The meal was very filling also the portion size is great. I had enough for leftovers. For my next visit i'd like to try their oh boy smash burger or the breakup burrito. In addition to coffee, they also serve wine and cocktails. Oh Boy was already a neighborhood favorite but they are about to be even more popular. They are open daily (7:30am weekdays and 8:30am sundays). On fridays and saturdays they close at 9pm. There is plenty outdoor seating options but limited indoor. As far as decor I really liked the wall of records from popular music acts like sade and three six mafia. I also like the wall of pictures, just want to know how I can get my picture on there too! lol For more content check out @iFancyNY on instagram

Oh Boy Burger. GOOD. A deceptively small Double Patty Cheeseburger which was very tasty. A unique taste due to the OH BOY Sauce with no mention of what it's made of. GOOD things come in small packages. RECOMMEND.

This place is such a cute vibe! It closed at 4pm during the week, and we arrived about an hour or so before closing. All the good seats were taken, so we had to sit in the sun and it was hot AF outside!! Staff were super cool, we placed our orders (2 oh boy burgers, ginger beer and margarita) it's a small space but the food didn't take too long. We were able to move to a shaded seat and it was so much better. Burger was delicious and our drinks were refreshing. Would like to come back and try more items.

Oh boy is right! There are limited options but you do not need more. The space is limited and there is outdoor seating available. We waited about 20 mins around noon on a Saturday. We ordered two cappuccinos while we waited for our brunch. It was worth every second. The food was delicious. We ordered a McGriddy and an egg and cheese (+ bacon). We did ask as we enjoyed our brunch, if they had fresh orange juice. They said they did not but their orange juice was organic.

There's the main seating area and then two offshoot lounges, which aren't quite as cozy but offer different levels of quiet and ambience. I love all the random décor, antique signs, old arcade games as tables, a million lamps. It's like what nook is going for but you can actually sit down on a comfy couch most of the time. The guy working the counter has a lot of energy and clearly loves being there. The PB banana smoothie was yummy, very thick so could use a spoon. Mushroom toast was a bit pricey but you did get a lot of food for your money, the focaccia was crunchier than expected but all around a nice cafe bite. I just appreciate how this is such a gathering spot where you can watch bk life play out while working, it had a different energy from a lot of places in the area.

Shucks I wanted to give this place five stars but it didn't start so well. The first barista who…read moretook my order was really great. I first ordered a chai latte and he said I could do two different syrups so I got the pumpkin and salted maple, though I was worried about it being too sugary so he suggested I could just do half a pump of each. He asked me what the name of the order would be and I said "Aida" (the phonetic spelling is ah-EE-dah). And then I heard the other barista say something along the lines of, "oh Aida, how about 'Aida' rather not be here", pretty rude if you ask me. And then I ordered the spicy nook sandwich. And when another server called my named to grab it she didn't even knowledge me when I tried to thank her and instead she talked to her coworker while I was right in front of her. The sandwich was really good, so was my chai tea. I really like the pumpkin and salt and maple syrups too. I did like all the options for seating although it was pretty packed. I'd say if you have a big party get there early. By 7pm the whole place was filled. There was a huge majong club that came in and took the whole back area, it was so crammed there were lines for the bathroom. Over all I had a good time. I really like the music too just know it gets very busy in there. The employees I would say were hit or miss. The ones that were great though I really liked. Just seem like the ones who didn't really give attention to customers or were kind of rude seemed like they didn't wanna be there.
