    Beef Frita with Muenster
    Kathy P.

As a Michigan alum, I was over the moon to hear that a Frita was opening in Brooklyn! The space in Domino Park is a close image to the location Ann Arbor - bright big space with benches, self serve water and condiments, and dominoes to play with! You order at the counter and sit down where you'd like. The staff will then call your name and bring your order to you! I ordered my fave - a beef frita with muenster. It tastes just as good as I remembered. And you may be wondering: Is it only good because of nostalgia? The answer is no. I only recently began to enjoy burgers even more after college, and this one is truly delicious. The patty was so juicy and dense. Fries were perfectly salty. And the burger itself is really big! I'm beyond happy this is here and need to come back for my other faves - pulled pork bowl, crispy plantains, and the hibiscus frita! One downside is this location in comparison to the AA one doesn't have fishbowls/large format drinks on the menu! But it's okay, I forgive them. The burger is really where it's at.

Exciting new Cuban snack shop on the Williamsburg waterfront specializing in brioche sandwiches filled with fries and various protein options. For vegetarians, there's a hearty black bean patty option which pairs well with a layer of avocado smash. The shoestring fries were good as well. The location right on Domino Park draws a certain crowd. I was thankful my order was to-go, as a certain fellow named Chase P. waiting on his frita was probably the loudest customer I've ever shared a restaurant space with. The ambiance gives a Miami-esque feeling, and I think this spot will be very popular next summer.

The servers were welcoming and warm while taking the order, giving suggestions, and bringing the food out. We felt welcomed and appreciated eating here. I think it was somehow even better than their original Michigan locations. The lighter batido felt like a drink made for a theme park in the best way. The shoestring fries come with a delightful aioli dipping sauce and are good on their own. Prices reasonable and nice portion sizes. Well come back to try the famous frita burger and a chocolate batido next time. This will be a great location in the summer right next to Domino Park

Very good burgers and drinks! Service is friendly and its a very clean space. A great addition to the neighborhood, we need more cuban spots here haha A batido is a cuban burger with fries inside and you can choose any protein: beef, fish, chicken etc I got the beef which was very tasty. I also got the pineapple mango shake. And they passed out free samples of coconut shake

From Ann Arbor, this Cuban burger joint serves Fritas, Milkshakes and a bunch of sides. We had the beef frita with double patty and made it loco, which included a bunch of different toppings including egg. The burger was delicious and filling. We also had the garlic cilantro fried and those were well made and good as well. Nice space within the domino square building, good sunlight. Service is part counter service but they bring the food out to you after you pay.

Opening night review. Service was incredibly friendly and helpful which made navigating the menu easier. Food came out quickly. I got the beef and was pleasantly surprised when they asked how well done I'd like it. Highlights: - The sides were great, guac was fresh and good with the plantain chips. Slaw was so creamy and the mango in there was so fresh and sweet. - Fries: shoestring but not too skinny. Probably my favorite thing here. - Portion sizes: huge, definitely worth the price. The churro bites might not have been the move, they were kind of dense, but the flavor was good. Will try the full sized churro next time. The chocolate sauce was very perfectly rich and warm. The "best snack ever" was good, kind of what you'd expect from a cup of rice and beans. It's a good spot for quick, decent food to take over to Domino Park for a picnic.

Came to Fritas shortly after it opened on a Friday. It was fairly quiet and I think at that point they were still trying to grease the wheels, which I think is fair, so waiting to order and service was very slow. I've been to the Fritas in Ann Arbor before and that restaurant runs like a well oiled machine, so I think as Frita gets up and operating in a rhythm it will be A-ok! I ordered the loaded plantains and pork rice bowl. I enjoyed both of them, but definitely a bit of sticker shock that the two items combined together if you include tip is over $40. I think the disconnect in my brain is when I went to Fritas it didn't feel like a full-service restaurant, it felt closer to one step up from fast casual. It's hard to pay full service restaurant prices and fees when you're served in paper/compostable bowls and cups. I also understand that having a space in Domino Park is $$$$, so I'm not surprised by the higher prices. Eating at Fritas in Brooklyn feels like a "luxury" experience, while in AA it was more casual. The staff bring you your food and periodically come by to check on you, so the service is good but at times felt not very practical. One area of suggestion, a self-service utensil station with a trash can, so you can easily grab another fork or spoon if needed or throw trash away at your own leisure if you'd like. I felt weird when I wanted to throw out a tissue and the only way was to hand it to the staff. Overall, it was a good experience, but a pricey one.

Loved the one in Ann Arbor and this restaurant is a more spacious version of the one in AA. The burgers were a little greasy but hit all the nostalgic notes. The fries are also really good here

Came here around 3:30 pm with 2 friends. Had a short line and some seats left in the restaurant but quite busy for the time! Ordering was easy got the beef frita make it loco (highly recommend) the burger was a substantial good burger and the tropical slaw and salsa really cut through the richness and added some sweetness/freshness. Took the egg off and dipped the burger in it. Also got the lighter batido which was like a creamier pineapply slushy (v yummy) and passionfruit batido (like a milkshake). The loaded plantains were not what we expected, ~1/8inch thick plantain slices underneath what looks like a wet schlop but was pretty tasty. Service was good they came to find us, brought us water, and food (food took ~20 minutes?). Inside was modern, simple. Right next to domino park for walking off the food baby.

Excellent food, relatively slow and long line, but it's 100% worth it. Fun, upbeat ambiance for a casual lunch or family outing.

Food was simple but delicious! A patty with toppings and the sides and frozen drinks are amazing! The service is ordered the counter but they bring it out to you where you are sitting! friendly staff and a lot of them! The place was modern yet very trendy! I definitely felt the Miami fibes! Definitely go back!

Let's start with the good - the service and ambiance were on point. I went on a Sunday evening around 7pm. It was busy inside, but since I was a solo diner I was seated immediately by the bar. The servers were friendly and attentive. Probably 3-4 different people checked in multiple times throughout the meal. Where I struggle is with the actual burger itself. As a non-resident New Yorker, for me $22.50 is a lot to spend on a burger and fries. It needs to rock my world at that price point. And it just didn't. I got the B&B Burger. The onion ring tasted like it had been refried a second time to make my burger. The bread was crumbly like it was on the verge of going stale. The actual beef patty itself was decent - good flavor. Usually I can overlook an okay burger if the fries are top notch, but these fries were under-seasoned and also 'just okay'. I also got a side of Chicken Tenders. These were good - no complaints here. I really wanted to like this spot, but not sure this would be a return visit for me.

Their lunch menu has a great "build your on burger" which i had a blast doing: Burger Cheddar Cheese Bacon Grilled onions Lettuce Tomato Mayo / BBQ con The service was exceptional, the ambience was very "Taverny [sic]" and my lunch was delicious!

Today however it wasn't pizza that brought me here, it was the famous Emmy Burger. To begin with the atmosphere of the restaurant is dim lighting a few tables with a reasonable sized bar in the middle of the room. They also have an open kitchen concept where just past the bar you can see the cooks working. My server Inda was polite and knowledgeable about the menu. My burger was excellent, normally I don't eat my burger with a knife and folk, but in this case with all the cheese and sauce oozing down the sides, not to mention the caramelized onions, it was necessary. (If I were home I wouldn't mind having burger juices running down my arm, but other people were eating in the restaurant also). The tiny pickles which I can't remember the name of were an added treat to the burger. I decided to order mine with the loaded fries. Just imagine the ground burger with all the toppings covering french fries and add melted white cheese. Since I was alone I didn't order a pizza because how would I eat it all, but next time I will try the pizza. I don't mind paying extra for a burger when it's aged beef and the taste is great. I definitely recommend this location. There is a fast food burger restaurant next door to Emily's but I can't imagine there burgers compare. I will try them another time and let you know. That's all for now, see you on my next review.

They say some things age like fine wine, and I believe this restaurant falls in that category. After 55 years, this family oriented fast food shop known for its famous roast beef sandwich and other popular greasy goodness is still standing. I swung by recently for my usuals and glad to report that everything still tasted the same, just slightly more pricey year after year as expected. My regular order has always been the Roast Beef w/ Cheese, which was maybe $4 when I first tasted it over 25 years ago. It is now $9.45 or $.50 less for no cheese. Regardless, the roast beef (medium) is still tender and juicy, piled on top of a soft and pillowy, freshly made bread that's been dunked in a bath of delicious beef gravy. The ooey gooey cheese makes it complete for me. Everything else is solid. Nothing fantastic or worth driving out of your way for. Don't come here looking for the best version of everything on the menu. However, if in the neighborhood, this place is an inexpensive experience that brings you back in time, when the world was less complicated and a night out with family meant a delicious trip to a local restaurant like Roll-N-Roaster. Enjoy it for what it is and you'll have a good time.
