I brought a friend from Bulgaria here, kinda late at night after we had had a couple beers and we ordered a chopped cheese. We ate it, and agreed, that this somehow was one of the best sandwiches ever. It was shockingly good. We discussed this after his trip and agreed. It WAS amazing. It wasn't a beery illusion. I found this deli on the late night after my night bartending shifts. These guys are the truth, the grill is on all night til 5 am, and the quality of food is obvious- halal all the way! Im giving them 2 stars instead of one because they used to make amazing lamb and chicken over rice and hopefully they'll read this and go back to what they used to do. The last few times ive ordered they seem to have changed their recipe. Now they chop up the meat in to tiny pieces and you can hardly taste it and even worse they chop in gristle and fat. Obviously they are trying to save money but guess what?...I can tell, yuck! Enough is enough! This bodega is seriously a life savior. From detergent to honey, coffee, and even avocados, you can basically find anything here. The place just got a face lift the Menus are nice to read and easily for you to know what you would like to get. The lamb gyro is a killer. So good and perfect after a night out at the Good Room. For the city that never sleeps, there's only a few places that stay open 24 hours. This place was a haven for me and my coworkers who work nightshift and wanted something different to eat. It's small convenience store that had an open grill ready to cook. There is a large variety of bottled drinks, candy and snacks. Everything on the menu is good but what I loved was the Lamb Gyro. I've had .... for the most part, decent experiences ordering from here. They lately started a Seamless promotion where Chicken and Rice is only $6. Honestly it's worth every penny. Seems like the use only the fresher ingredients (I know hard to believe but i've been here several dozen times now and it's always.... really fresh n good for some reason) and they typically have my food ready by the time I get there. When they don't, they seem to care and get it made up quick (so not taking a star off for that). I honestly have nothing to complain about as the prices the charge and the food/service receive is always EXTREMELY fair (I feel always like I'm getting more for my dollar than what I pay when ordering their Halal). Also, hands down the best tasting White Sauce I've had so far in Brooklyn. I'm sure someone out there can do it better but personally, I haven't found anyone. Try their white sauce. It's just.... New York is expensive...we all get it however, God Bless USA Deli in my neck of the woods Greenpoint is amazing and CHEAP! While I was out of town my husband ate here and made a point to say I must eat here and tonight... I did! After reading a lot of reviews my decision came down to the Philly Cheesesteak, Cheeseburger, or the Chicken over Rice, I chose the ever healthy Philly Cheesesteak. My order included onions, peppers, and American cheese (you also can get lettuce, tomato, raw onion, and mayo)! In a desperate haze of hunger I also ordered curly fries! The cheesesteak.... O M G! So delicious! Salty, cheesy, meaty ahhh worth it for sure! The curly fries were so crispy circa Arby's which lets me honest is the curly fry King! I was supposed to receive a can of soda with my sandwich but realized on the trek home I didn't get it, ah no big deal for me since I don't drink calories other than alcohol and avoid diet soda like the plague but be aware!!! It's been a blessing being across the street from this deli for the past year. Particularly because I look out the window and see "God Bless" every morning. Great positive energy! The food is a constant level of mediocre that is pretty admirable. Whatever time you come in (they don't close!) you are guaranteed a decent meal. I usually go for the cheese steak with everything and throw in fries if I'm particularly hungry (ie really drunk.) At $6.25 the meal is insanely cheap by any standards. God Bless Deli rules, so hard. I get a post-work egg salad hero with tomatoes and mustard and a Zwyiec once a week and I don't even like egg salad. Alex is a sandwich ninja. And the beer selection is insane by bodega standards. Of course you can get a big-ass bottle of cold Zwyiec for cheap, but you can also get a single bottle of Dogfish Raison D'Etre, or better yet, six. What? Why? How can this be? Sure, the bodega itself might be a typical bodega with bread and milk and whatever else little packaged crap you need. But that is not the point of this review. Rather than USA Deli, they should rename it "THE RESPLENDENTLY GLORIOUS FALAFEL EXPLOSION (AND OTHER GREAT STUFF TOO) DELI". It would be hard for me to say something that hasn't already been said, but God Bless Deli has a special place in my heart. This is my go to spot for drinks, food, or snacks any time I am in Greenpoint. They have a huge menu of hot and cold cooked food which is made to order at very reasonable prices. Additionally, there are tons of options for beer, soft drinks, snacks, and toiletries. I am really impressed with a lot of the healthier snack and drink options they seem to be making an effort to stock. The guys working there are usually really friendly and work hard to make wait times really short for the ordered food. The one thing that I find kind of annoying though is the inconsistencies with payment. What I mean by that is the price they tell you verbally isn't always the price you end up paying (happened with at least 3 different employees). They charge tax for cash purchases maybe 50% of the time, which im not complaining about, but when they tell you a price prior to tax and you pay with a card, the tax is never included in the price they tell you. So when you look at the receipt you realize that you paid a dollar or two more than the price they told you verbally. I don't mean to nitpick, but its pretty annoying when it happens every time. Just a word to the wise, flash some cash when you are about to pay and they will usually not charge the extra tax since they see you are paying cash. If you pay with a card, dont be surprised if tax wasn't included in the price they asked for. read more

One of the only (if not the only??) 24-hour joint in Greenpoint to get food, luckily it's also the best. As other Yelpers before me have mentioned, the place is cheap! You can be well fed with greasy, yummy food for under $4. I admit that I've never had the place sober, but I've been there enough at 3 am to tell you that the service is quick and the food hits the spot. The first time I went I got the cheeseburger and fries, and, while delicious, it pales in comparison to their Philly Cheesesteak. I'm no expert or anything, but I think these are pretty much the best cheesesteaks outside of Philly. Just be careful when you order to include which toppings you want (if any), otherwise they will try and put some weird ass shit on there. The first time I made the mistake of just telling the guy to make it his usual way, and I ended up with lettuce, tomatoes and ketchup on there. Disturbing, I know.
