Was looking for a healthy option in my area and this definitely checked that off. I saw other reviews saying this place has high-quality ingredients, and now I know what they mean! I never imagined eating a burrito and thinking, "Wow, this is such a clean burrito." Wanted to get a salad bowl initially but saw how steep the pricing is. Rating 4 stars instead of 5 because I personally enjoy very flavorful food overall, so while this may not be my first choice again, I do appreciate this place's commitment to quality and service.

The bread was soft and fluffy and it was packed to the brim! It was a great light lunch/snack size. The banana peppers really changed the game for me in this. Cant wait to be back to try other items!!

Everything was delicious and the portions were large. We loved the classic rock music that was playing and the gentleman who helped us was very nice, I am sorry I did not catch his name. Excellent food, excellent music, excellent service. What more can you ask for? Next time I'm in the area I will certainly stop by for a delicious bowl. Thank you for the complementary cup of Paris Tea!

Absolutely hits the spot! I ordered the build your own bowl on DoorDash with falafel, chicken, apple, olives, tabbouleh, mixed greens and chickpeas. About 15 minutes later I got a call saying they were out of a couple of the ingredients I'd selected (it was almost the end of the night). He offered some replacements and even threw in a rice pudding! Excellent customer service and the food was delicious- all ingredients were fresh and flavorful! Would definitely order again.

We were staying at the Holiday Inn Express on Broadway and wanted Mediterranean food. We found Tabbouleh on Central Avenue in Brooklyn which was the best rated, not the closest. We were so glad we found it, you will not be disappointed! Everything was freshly made and portions were huge (enough for more than one meal) for the price ($15 for a Build Your Own Bowl). The falafel were stuffed with vegetables and generously covered with sesame seeds! The sides such as carrots, beets, cabbage and chickpea were nicely prepared (not mushy, well seasoned). The tabbouleh sauce had a great mint flavor, the garlic tahini was smooth and garlicky. The dolmades (stuffed grape leaves) were flavorful. We also enjoyed the free lemonade (not too tart, not too sweet) and hibiscus tea (nice additional cinnamon taste) available for customers while waiting. The owner even gave us fresh hot falafels covered with tahini sauce while we were waiting! Tabbouleh has two small tables and counter space where you could eat or wait for your food. The owner said that he had worked in Mediterranean restaurants his entire life and opened Tabbouleh so he could make Mediterranean food the way he thought it should be made. He was an artist in the way he made the bowls, dicing and presenting the vegetables around the edge of the bowl in a beautiful way (please see accompanying photos which unfortunately were taken after smashing a lid on top of the bowls and walking back to the hotel with the bowls bouncing around in the bag). Hopefully everyone will enjoy the food as much as we did!

I'll start with a service. Guys working there are just extremely nice. They will take care of you and make you exactly what you want. Food is delicious. Everything is fresh, portions are pretty big, and not too expensive. Stuffed falafel is a must try!

I was even able to customize the bowl a bit before (too much rice bothers me so I asked if I could just have it on a salad). They were so warm and friendly and had top tier service. This is hands down my favorite bowl spot in New York! The service is always exceptional--warm, welcoming, and genuinely generous. They're not shy with portions, and they'll even let you sample the sauces, which are all incredible. The menu is massive (in the best way), so there's always something new to try, and the coffee is surprisingly top-tier. I seriously crave this place every week. The salmon is my go-to--perfectly cooked every time--and the chicken is incredibly juicy and flavorful. Can't recommend this gem enough! read more

I came here for the stuffed falafel plate. This is a good place for healthy choices, and why not start of with some Mediterrinean feel? The food was good with some real hummus and tabbouleh. Our first time here, and it was lovely. Moderate in prices, nothing overpriced, or uncooked. Nice people and good place. Id visit again. read more

We have just visited the best Mediterranean Restaurant, Chicken and Brussel Sprouts with large tender pieces of excellently marinated Chicken. Also outstanding was the Custom Bowl that you have made with every fresh ingredient imaginable chosen by you. Flavorful and delicious food. I am so glad that I found this spot, it is my new favorite in the neighborhood. I had the customizable falafel bowl. The falafel is flavorful and I like that they top it with sesame seeds. The lentil rice is nicely salted, flavorful and mashed into the rice. I love the babaghanoush and muhammara dips. The flavors meld together perfectly. Must try, I can't wait to eat here again. read more

service was phenomenal, they have the friendliest staff in the world and the service was great. The food was even better than the service, everything we ordered was great. We were the only ones in the restaurant this time and they offered us delicious pancake-like desserts and fresh tea. The staff was great with guiding our orders since this was unlike other mediterranean restaurants and loved everything they recommended. Definitely coming back. read more

To start this off this is SOLEY based on customer service. I didn't eat here. I do deliver food through DoorDash though. And I get it restaurants get busy and backed up. I asked the man behind the counter how long it'll take to pick up the food so I can inform the customer. I was told 10mins I patiently waited for 20mins and asked again, nicely may I add. And informed him that it's so I can inform the customer. This man gives me an attitude and tells me to cancel the order. No sir I've waited 20mins. I continue to wait longer. A lady goes in behind me and walked out after me and agreed with me when I told him he needs to do better with his attitude. Feddi or fetty I'm not sure of his name he didn't want to give it another employee did. I hope the owner sees this and just talks to their staff upon customer service. I would get it if I was rude upfront but I wasn't I work in customer service too! read more

There is also an outdoor dining area, as well as a mid-sized dining room and we were seated near the window. Sawa serves Lebanese cuisine with some more modern dishes. Additionally, they have a mostly Lebanese wine list, which gave us an opportunity to try some new wines. We ordered both a red and a white for the table, and I was especially drawn to the red, as the red was served chilled, light-bodied, and very enjoyable. Nearly all of the reds and whites on the menu are from Lebanon, with just one red from Morocco, plus a couple sparkling options from Lebanon as well. We started with several dips for the table: hummus, baba ghannouj, and muhammara. The hummus was incredibly smooth, and the muhammara was especially flavorful with large pieces of walnut throughout. Everyone at the table receives fresh pita, and we ended up ordering a few more to share. We also shared the Brussels sprouts and the snap peas. The Brussels sprouts were rich and flavorful, but the snap peas really stood out. They were unlike anything I have tasted before, intensely mint, served with garlic mint labneh, and very delicious. For mains, we focused on lamb: two orders of the lamb ribs, two orders of the kafta, and two orders of the sfeeha. We probably over-ordered by about one entrée, but otherwise it was the right amount of food for six people. The lamb ribs were phenomenal, fall-off-the-bone tender and packed with flavor. The lamb pies were also very good and came with a delicious dipping sauce. The kafta was good, though not quite as memorable as the other lamb dishes, but still very satisfying. Service was attentive throughout the meal, and despite the number of dishes on the table, the staff handled everything smoothly. The table got a little crowded at times, but it was manageable. I would absolutely recommend Sawa, especially for anyone who enjoys trying something a little different.
