Mixed kabob platter
Anna L.

Small kabob restaurant that is mainly for takeout, but there are some counter seating. Their meat is halal as confirmed with one of the employees. Food was decent. A plate comes with rice and pita, while a platter comes with an additional choice of two sides. We had the mixed kabob platter and lamb chop plate. The lamb chop is a good size (not the rack of lamb type cut). Definitely use the provided sauces to give some of the kebab pieces more flavor and moisture.

Incredible kabob joint with a great variety, came on a Friday evening and there was only a few people. I ordered the salmon platter, everything was fresh, including the bread which was warm. I enjoyed the variety of sauces they offered with the kebobs. The service was quick and friendly. The ambiance was clean and quiet. I'm giving 5 stars not for the incredible food but also for their amazing 2000s playlist which included Shaggy!

Excellent food, service is fast and attentive. I told the cook how to cook the lamb and he was very happy to do it my way. It tastes delicious Lamb on a Gyro.

Falafel Platter with Chicken Kabob Skewer

Good service, however i paid $25 for a platter and chicken skewer because they don't have a combo option for half and half protein. I would recommend trying the falafel, chicken and hummus. Those were the best and most flavorful parts of the dish.

Lettuce or no lettuce?

Ordered a Gyro Pita Sandwich with a side of the House White Sauce thru Uber Eats. The sandwich was really good. 1st time eating here and would definitely ordered from then again. The only thing was on the app, the Gyro Pita Sandwich said it came with lettuce but there wasn't any lettuce but the picture on the app also didn't have lettuce so idk lol.

what a waste of $19. we ordered falafel sandwich specials which are supposed to be $13 total, but the lady who got my order said $15 over the phone. I asked twice and she said $15 for sure. thats why we tipped the delivery guy $3 tips even though my location is less than 5 blocks away from this location. It's our third time having issues and wanted to give them one more chance but not anymore. it's always the same lady who gets my order wrong and spending more than 5 mins to take easy orders (either 1 or 2 items). They ALWAYS messed up my orders and did not put either utensils or dips for fries. Their fries are extremely soggy or greasy. you should ask for less salt otherwise your tongue will shrink. disgusting.

Yes! They've reopened in the same space with a beautiful renovation! I was so worried that they had closed for good. Got the Chicken Pita sandwich, their awesome skin-on fries, and the roasted garlic dipping sauce. Everything was as tasty and delicious as I remember! Welcome back, Kabob Shack!

Mediterranean place that seemed to have reopened in Williamsburg recently. The falafel pita sandwich I got for $6 was very good. Extremely filling, and the white sauce they use is scrumptious. Wish it was packed with more vegetables/salad, but the pickled onions were a nice touch. Great pita & quick service.

You…read morewould miss it on busy Coney Island Avenue if you weren't looking for it -- the only reason I did was because I was checking for baking supplies at the nearby Ideal Supermarket. The only thing that betrays the hidden nature of Dunya Kabab House is the brilliant red sign. Upon closer inspection, you can see a warm dining area, glass partition to see "where the magic happens" in the kitchen behind, and the many articles plastered showing their unique take on Afghani food. I bookmarked the spot to come back to, and within the week, I came back and ordered takeout for the dish most fellow reviewers raved about -- the Uzbeki Qabuli Pulao. When I got home and opened the bag, I was pleasantly surprised to find a small side salad and the dish I recognised from a visit to another nearby restaurant specialising in Uzbeki food -- the plov! The rice was really well seasoned and the lamb shank was so tender it fell off the bone. Everything was really flavourful and well balanced, even for take-out. Unlike the other place, this plov was still sweet without being cloyingly so. I had such good impression that I'm excited to return in the future and try their other dishes, since I heard *everything* Dunya Kebab House does is impeccable.

I also highly recommend the firnee, a decadent custard with pistachios--could honestly eat it all day. It's also super affordable for the quality and portion size--this is definitely going to become a go-to for lunch and dinner in the neighborhood for me. Don't miss it!

The waiter was super nice and gave us recommendations so we ended up ordering the beef sambosa, the kabuli palow with chicken, the kebab combination ii, and the okra. Loved the beef sambosa, the waiter actually brought them out for us to try before we ordered and told us to eat it with the spice condiments on the side with a white sauce. Very delicious! The okra was delicious and paired well with the rice. The kabuli palow had raisins and pistachios in the rice that was really delicious and added a nice sweet and savory element. The meats for the kebab combination were all delicious, spiced, and juicy. The waiter also gave us chickpeas which were so flavorful and would definitely recommend! Maybe we've been spoiled by our favorite restaurant back in St. Louis (Afghan Kabob House) but Ariana's was underwhelming. The server was friendly but the food was just ok. Pricey due to the location as expected but also underwhelming taste wise. We got the aushak, mantu, and kadoo bolanee (pumpkin curry with bread). All three surprisingly looked very similar (photos look almost identical as they had the same sauce drizzled with yogurt). The aushak has leeks inside while the mantu has beef. The beef was drier than we were used to and the aushak less flavorful with overpowering onion. The pumpkin was cooked in what looked like the same sauce as well but the baked bread it came with was good. They did offer complimentary chickpeas which were tastier however. Maybe other items on the menu would've been better picks!

We got a four-top at the front of the place. The restaurant decor is pleasant. It's a bit dark inside, but welcoming. Our server was very friendly. We started by ordering three starters - Mantu Dumplings (described in the menu as: steamed dumplings w/ beef, onions, cilantro + spices, topped with garlic mint yogurt sauce and garnished with lamb gravy and yellow split peas), Borani Banjan (eggplant) and Bamia (okra, stewed with tomato and onion sauce). Each of the starters was great. I think my favorite was the dumpling, followed by the eggplant and then the okra. Although the okra dish was delicious, it seemed like the simplest one, and one I could make most easily at home. The server suggested we get an order of Afghan Naan to go with the starters. The Naan was "OK". I would call that the weak part of the meal. It was fairly flavorless and didn't really enhance the flavors of the starters. The three of us shared two entrees - Chicken Afghan Kabob and Salmon Kabob. Each comes with a large side of rice. We also ordered one Qabuli (a rice topping made of raisins and carrots, sautéed in a cardamom syrup). The Qabuli is an extra dollar. The server said he would put it on the side, which was an excellent suggestion, because the rice was flavorful on its own and the Qabuli on its own made an excellent, sweet side dish. The Kabobs were both very good. The chicken was moist and tender and nicely seasoned. But the salmon - oh my gosh - the salmon light, flaky texture melted in my mouth. I couldn't stop eating the salmon. The rice was flavorful and the texture consistent. Before serving the entree, the server brought over a small salad to share, which was refreshing - lettuce and tomato and cucumbers. We didn't order dessert. But the server comped us a Firnee (homemade custard), which was very good. We were so full we couldn't finish it (or most of the rice from the entrees). The portions here are a nice size. Bottled waters were $2 each. They were ice cold and a good value for a restaurant. Honestly, the prices here overall are very reasonable. The food is good and nice portion sizes.

The lunch special included a few pieces of chicken kebab and a ground lamb kebab along with salad and rice. The rice was very flavorful and delicious. Service: Staff were really friendly, but the service was quite slow considering we were the only ones ordering food at the time. I wouldn't come here if you're looking to grab a quick lunch to go. Ambiance: The restaurant is small but has tables for you to eat at. They automatically charge a 20% gratuity for parties of two or more if you want to dine in. Overall, I would recommend this place!

I overheard Rafi explaining to the other table and folks that got takeout that it would be an extra charge, but he could customize their orders, which I thought was nice that he was very transparent with them upfront and willing to work with the customer so that they could order the items that they want. I also appreciated him explaining to my friend that Turkish coffee comes with sugar and not milk and clarifying if she was OK with that before he made the coffee. We were given free firnee. For our main course, we ordered the Mixed Grill Combination, which included lamb tikka, lamb kebab, jujeh, and chicken tikka. The portion was generous--perfect for sharing and even better for leftovers. It happened to be my aunts birthday and we were offered a traditional Afghan dessert, Firnee. It was a pudding topped with pistachios. It was creamy and sweet. Such a thoughtful gesture. By the way they also offer BYOB, which is a nice bonus. Overall, great food, friendly service, and an enjoyable dining experience.
