I stopped in for a sandwich and I was left feeling a bit mixed. Firstly, they don't list any prices. I found that insane. It forces the customer to either ask the price on each or order and perhaps feel vulnerable about not wanted to spend $15+ on a sandwich. I bought the Turkey Club and a bag of chips and spent $22. I can assure you that the meal wasn't worth meal. The sandwich was good enough but a bit dry. The bacon was cold. I was just left underwhelmed and ended up spending more than I wanted to. The spot itself is small but it's not pretending to be a bigger restaurant than it is. read more

Sorry, but their food is trash! Nothing is seasoned. I ordered their veggie bowl which was supposed to have a black bean chili but it was just plain drained black beans no sauce, not even onions. Their plantains were hard and dough-like and their rice had this funny after taste. There's nothing that looks tastes or smells appetizing about their food. Even their soups - I bought tomato and zucchini and those aren't seasoned either. All you're tasting is the vegetable. The tomato soup is so watered down that the taste is muted. Not a good experience whatsoever. I can't believe I wasted my 50%/$15 off for this order (Postmates), how disappointing. read more

I want to give an update from the last time I was here. After being very disappointed in my last order, Andy immediately reached out to me to see what went wrong. I ended up having the opportunity to try some other items off the menu afterwards and it has completely changed my opinion on this place. Below are some more items that I tried: creamy tomato soup lentil soup turkey club emiliana sandwich tuna salad on brioche My favorite has to go towards their lentil soup and emliana sandwich. I was very full after eat most of the sandwich which was the complete opposite of my last experience. I'm guessing I may have went during an off day last time. Regardless, I am very pleased with the customer service and I am glad I gave this place another chance. read more

Wow. We had these sandwiches brought into our office and it was the best lunch they've ever provided. I had the Emiliano and the Penzina and both were incredible. The bread is a little hard, but I can't tell if that was from the delivery and if it would be better fresh. I loved the proscuitto and the pesto and the fig jam. I'm a big fan of sandwiches in general, but loved these. I would say the size is a little small. I had to eat 2 to be full. I'd say the length is about 3/4 of a footlong. read more

I love this place! Yes, the prices are a little high but their options are way more than just a sandwich. The menu has a wide variety from classic to unique options that you can't find anywhere else. My absolute favorite is The Queen. The chicken salad is silky smooth and you can really taste that the mayo is homemade. The bread is perfectly fresh, soft, and crunchy. I loved everything about the food. I ordered via Grubhub and was not disappointed at all. Delivery was on time and came straight to my door. The pulled pork sandwich was super amazing and mouth watering. I also shared some of the Mexican bowl with my mom. Superb service and fantastic tasting food. Picked up from here. Lots of menu choices, so took some time to pick. Picked the Cuban cause I just recently saw "Chef" the movie. It was absolutely delicious, the pernil (pulled pork) was legit and definitely homemade, the ham was great quality, cheese melted and bread toasted perfectly. I am not a mustard guy but I got it anyway because it is a crucial ingredient to a good Cuban, and it was not overpowering at all. I was skeptical of the high prices but the portion, and quality of Cuban definitely made it worth it. read more

Amazing! Favorite sandwich in Williamsburg. Order from here at least twice a week. Favorite is the Emiliano, but I've tried most of the menu and it's all amazing. Currently you can't order on Uber eats unfortunately - it says all items are sold out. It's been like this for at least a week, but today I realized that other apps are still working. I would've ordered at least 2 more sandwiches in the past week if Uber eats had been working, so I assume this is also turning other people away and losing money for the shop. UPDATE: This was expensive at $14 and you RAISED your price to $16 or $10 for a half?! What is this, sandwiches for billionaires? This is east Williamsburg, who can afford this? You just lost 2 stars and a loyal customer. Let me know when you come to your senses. You're going to lose a lot of customers at this price. Never heard of a $16 sandwich. With tax it's almost $17. And that's to pick it up. The Emiliana is probably my favorite sandwich -it's so good. I love the potato salad that comes on the side as well and I've never liked potato salad my entire life! I just wish this place was more affordable. $14 for a sandwich is really rough. This isn't even the fancy part of town. I'd try more of the menu but at that price I will only order once in a while and have to stick to my favorite. read more

I've only tried one thing here (the Cubano) but it was FAN-TAS-TIC! The meat was delicious and tender and the bread was nicely grilled. A classic sandwich done right. Delivery was on time, and the food was well worth the wait. My only complaint -- and the reason I've deducted a star -- is because this place is PRICY! A full sized sandwich will set you back about $14 (and the half sandwiches are still around $10 as well). The food is great, so if you don't mind paying a high price for quality eats, then this place won't disappoint. I'd certainly come here again and would recommend trying the food here. It's just difficult for me to justify that type of expense on a sandwich. read more

I was so excited to try this place seeing as though I love sandwiches but I didn't even get the chance. I placed my order to my address which included an apartment number. And instead of ringing the bell I provided. The driver claimed he was unable to reach me and took my order back to the store. I tried to get a redelivery and they told me that was not possible. I feel scammed and would have expected more effort in making sure I received my order. Update: I made a second attempt to place the order because when you want something you want it. And they canceled my order AGAIN. So on top of the poor communication I received. They rejected my second order. Unprofessional period. Sadly will not be recommending. read more

The search for wholesome, nourishing takeout is often an exhausting ordeal. Between fast food and gimmick health food places, there never seems to be a place to just get a meal that doesn't make you feel like a overstuffed sack of refuse. The sandwich I ordered took some time to prepare, but it was worth the wait. Fresh meat, carefully considered ingredients all neatly put together and served pipping hot, this is the kind of foot that can elevate your mood. Made a huge order to feed 15 hungry ladies at a bridal shower, and everyone had nothing but great things to say about how great their sandwiches were. I wanted to try everything, but only got my hands on The Emiliana, and it was amazing. By the time I tried to reach for seconds, it was all gone. For those ordering for a large group or gathering, I highly recommend ordering a day ahead. What a nice and cozy sandwich shop. I've probably eaten a couple of these sandwiches at this point and I still find myself coming back. The bread is top notch, ingredients are fresh, Picon cares and it shows. The gals he has working the registers always greet you and send you off with a smile. Bread is made in house. I've walked past this place before--I even visited once with my sister to try the cornbread and chili, which were okay--so I figured I'd stop in again. The location has charm, but the food didn't leave a lasting impression. It's good for what it is, and I appreciate the effort, but nothing really stood out. I've read other reviews saying the quality was better pre-COVID, though I can't speak to that since I never ate here before the pandemic. If that's true, it makes sense. Would I come back? Maybe, but probably not on a budget. For what it is, though, it's worth trying if you're curious.

The fried pork pieces were mostly fat and looked like the side dish for $5; literally, i counted 7 pieces. Nothing too special in taste, really bland, not even a hint of salt n pepper; even the pikliz didn't help. The Akra was good, and the sausage was good. Also, I got a side of black rice, and that also was just Ok. The food was hot, at least. I appreciate the delivery from bedstuy, but I don't think I would order from there again. They didn't even send sauce with the rice. Smh. I was planning on going in person, but now I don't know.

I settled on Haitian food, and after some Googles I settled on Anmwey Eatery. The reviews were good and it was only a 5 minute drive from my mom's house. I ordered at the counter when I arrived. I knew I wanted griot (fried pork) with black rice, so that's what I ordered. They were busy, so my food took about 30 minutes to be ready. I was fine with the wait. The bar seats were comfy and I was on my phone. There was also loud reggae music playing from the other room, so I was jammin. I got home and dug into my food and it was almost perfect. The griot was delicious. Just crunchy enough on the outside and tender on the inside. The black rice was a little disappointing, but nothing major. I love black rice, but it lacked flavor. Luckily they give you a side of gravy, which was tasty. I should've taken the girl at the counter up on her offer to get an extra side of gravy. I still devoured everything though. It also came with fried plantain. I'm not a huge fan of unsweet plantain, but it was good when I added the picklez to it. Picklez is spicy, so tread lightly if you don't like heat. 5 stars for Anmwey. I will certainly return.
