Cute little spot! Authentic Lao and Thai food. Flavorful and great portions! I like the street menu items and full menu options. Workers and service was really nice. We went exactly at 5 and like the reviews said there were plenty of people already coming in to pick up togo orders!

Me and my mom ordered take out on a Saturday night--it was suuuuper packed!! Very small, intimate and cozy here for sure. Staff were all super nice though and made sure to let us know the real wait for food--their kitchen was absolutely slammed so it was over an hour. Looked promising though so we did end up getting take out. We kept it simple though with tofu skewers and egg rolls and they both were so tasty!! I got the tropical punch as well and it was soooo good!! Definitely want to come back to dine in

Shrimp spring rolls were huge with fresh greens and 3 shrimp each.

Being Lao, I was hesitant to try this place. I went in expecting the Lao food would be more traditional central Thai food. And thank goodness that was not the case. The Lai food was actually Lao food. Although sweeter than how I usually make my own, we ordered the papaya salad level 3 spicy which was not too spicy but had some heat. The last sausage was good and flavored well with just enough balance of lemongrass. The restaurant is bright and clean. It is small and has limited seating. The staff is very helpful, attentive and friendly. I recommend giving it a try and introducing yourself to Lao food.

Actually wish I could give more stars. Service is excellent for not being full service. Food is amazing and flavorful and fresh. I'll be dreaming about the soup. Surely will be back. And soon. Thank you Sweet Basil.

Ok this is SO worth the hype and the drive (20 min for me). I got pad kee mao and mango sticky rice - my only regret is not dining in!! The pad kee mao with shrimp is SO good. I'm fairly picky with my Asian food too as someone who grew up on the coasts. The noodles were nice and flat and the sauce was delicious. I got 3 and it's supposed to be spicy, but I have a decent heat tolerance so I'd say it's more like a mild. The mango sticky rice is to die for and a must get. I thought I'd be able to split the noodles into two meals, but it was so good I kept eating them!!! I can't speak to the service but the staff were super friendly when I came in to pick up my order. It's rather small inside so I'm sure it helps to go off peak. But it's super cute. Like others have said, definitely follow them on social media to know when they're open and if they are still taking in orders. Please please support this lovely family owned restaurant!! They work so hard (as seen on social media) and really deserve all the praise!!

Food is always great and consistent here. We went on a Saturday evening and they were packed. They sold out at 7 pm which was a little earlier than their closing time of 8pm so if you plan to go make sure you arrive early! There are only a few tables so they do a lot of take out orders. The service is always quick and they are very nice.

Service is fast and very friendly. I looked online before visiting and it warns that orders may take awhile as they are made fresh. However, our food came out within 20 minutes. We were pleasantly surprised. The crab rangoons were some of the best I've had in the city. The three noodle dishes were all very good. We came to the conclusion that the Jeow Bong noodles were the best. The place is on the smaller side but still has a decent amount of seating. Cute atmosphere and decor. Also, all of their takeout boxes, cutlery, and cups are biodegradable and can be microwaved lol.

Tried Sweet Basil as a friend recommended it to me, it did not disappoint! We called to order takeout - a friendly heads up, during busy hours it can take an hour + to have food ready, so need to be patient. The sesame chicken was my absolute favorite. The flavor was delicious and it was a big portion (had it over two meals). We also tried the Jeow Bong fried rice, lemongrass chicken, Rama Delight, and mango sticky rice. I was a big big fan of the flavor of the fried rice and lemongrass chicken; the Rama Delight was okay- a healthy option but was almost too plain for me personally. The mango sticky rice is a delightful end to my meal- definitely worth a try! The mango was so fresh and the sauce/rice combo went together perfectly. The dining area itself is smaller but very quaint, staff were all efficient and kind when I picked up my order! Would definitely recommend trying it out if you are in the mood for Thai/Lao food!

I am so happy we decided to venture out of Milwaukee to try this place as we have been looking for good Thai since being a transplant. This is my type of restaurant as it's not all about the ambiance and frills but more so about amazing food and a family atmosphere. You walk in and up to the counter to order and they will be super helpful guiding you if it's your first time. Now the food was great and the spice levels I feel like are appropriate and aren't just hot but add flavor. I am so excited because both the crab Rangoon and Pad See ew I had were great and the Panang curry my fiancé had was great even reheated. Amazing restaurant with great service and they are super helpful.

Sweet basil was amazing. It was packed, which was a good sign off the back. The staff was extremely kind. The ambience was pretty chill, but the food was smacking. I got the Tom kha extra spicy with shrimp. it was perfect on a cold rainy day. Definitely hit the spot. 10/10 Then I got the pad kee mao. Big noodles delicious spicy beef. 9/10 And I took some Panang curry to go. 9/10

I've dined here or carried out several times since they opened. The food has been consistently delicious with efficient service! You can order online for carry-out, or if dining in, review the menu board, grab a portable menu, or scan the QR code on the menu board to pull it up on your phone. Then place your order and pay at the counter and find a place to sit. They will give you a number for your table and bring the food to you. It is a family owned and operated business, so you know a lot of love goes into every dish. I've enjoyed various dishes including the OG Platter, which includes Lao Grilled Steak, Lao Sausage, OG wings, papaya salad, and sticky rice. It's perfect for two hungry people or as a starter for a group! The Khao-Poon special from a year ago is a dish I still think about and hope to see again soon! The Chicken Satay with housemade peanut sauce is another hit!Tonight's visit with a friend included the OG Platter, Pad Kee Mao, aka Drunken Noodle, with chicken, with Lotus Flower Cookies (this month's special), and Mango Sticky Rice for dessert. Yes, we had a lot of leftovers, and we weren't mad about it. They are open Tuesday through Saturday, 3:00-8:00, and because they are a small, family operation, they may need to close for a day if key staff is ill or injured, so I highly recommend you follow them on social media or call them when in doubt. This is one of the very best SE Asian restaurants in SE Wisconsin, so if you haven't been yet, make a point to visit!

Best Thai and Lao food I have ever eaten!! The egg rolls flawless. The chicken skewers were pretty good but the sauces made them 10x better. The service was great. They bring out the food to you but allow you to get your own utensils and sauces.

I once again question why I do not make the 45 minute drive to Sweet Basil more often. Today's visit exceeded my expectations. I was pleasantly greeted by Drew at the register. He took my order, gave suggestions, and made sure my meal was handled appropriately and gluten free. Food was excellent as always. I love their spring rolls. They're so fresh. The noodle dish Pasta Kee Mao was new for me and I'm glad I tried it. It's like a beef with peppers pasta dish in brown sauce. I love their pad Thai but wanted to try something different and this did not disappoint. Can't wait to go back!

I was shopping in the area and this establishment was only a mile way. My husband ordered the beef laab with sticky rice and I picked chicken green curry. Our server was prompt and took our orders right away. Ten to fifteen minutes later and our orders came out. The beef laab was solid. We picked spice level 2 and it was not too spicy for my taste. My spice level is low. It was flavorful. I could taste the herbs. Especially the lemongrass, mint, and cilantro. It was popping. The sticky rice was still warm; bagged inside a rice basket container. Salty, toasted ground rice powder, and a tad of spice. Chef's kiss. I was excited for my dish after tasting the laab. When it came, I took my spoon into curry and the first sip was super sour. Wait, I've eaten green curry from all around the US and this was the first one that had a really sour note. I took a few sips and offered it to my husband. Same, it was so sour. The sliced chicken pieces were hidden. So was the Thai eggplants. The whole bowl were basically sliced onions and green pepper. So disappointed. Green curry is one of the Thai national dishes and if they can't do it right, I don't think I could give them a second chance.

The restaurant is in a tucked away strip mall and is modest in size and decor. The strip mall also contains hidden treasures like a Chinese bakery/BBQ and an Asian store. We went early on a Saturday evening with friends. The service was excellent, although with some staff there were language hurdles. No matter - everyone made it work and we were left with an abundance of amazing food at a reasonable price. Wine and beers are served, as well as smoothies and other non-alcoholic drinks. BF ordered crab rangoon as a starter, which was good. He liked it more than I did, but it was nice and crispy. I just didn't think it compared to other dishes. My vegetable egg roll was very good as well, but nothing terribly unique. He went bold on the entree and ordered the pork intestine and blood cake dish. He really enjoyed it and said it was quite spicy. The portions are generous and he did bring a lot home. I ordered the homestyle tofu, which normally has pork. I got it without to make it vegetarian friendly. The textures were very good and the sauce was intensely flavorful, but mild. I also ordered a supplementary dish of braised mushrooms and Shanghai greens. Everyone at the table enjoyed this dish, particularly the greens, which are a variety of bok choy, called pac choy. The mushrooms were wonderful, with the texture of wood ears. I also had plenty of leftovers to eat the next day. Our friends ordered the Szechuan spicy pork dumplings and they got rave reviews. My cousin did say they were not overly spicy. She went on to order the sizzling black pepper beef, which she said was good, but not nearly as unique or deeply flavored as the other dishes. Her husband ordered the pork intestine with clear noodles, which he enjoyed but said was extremely spicy. He did leave a lot of sauce behind since it was so hot. He also had the ox tendon and maw in spicy sauce, which came with chopped peanuts on top. He seemed really pleased with that dish. We agreed that we would happily go back to explore the menu more. Everything was excellent and I thought the prices were generally quite reasonable, especially for the quantity of food. I do wish the menu had more descriptive text, so I could familiarize myself with the dishes. The choices are many and overwhelming and the menu is huge. I'd also love to see a symbol for vegetarian options since it's very hard to know otherwise and many of the vegetable dishes included pork or other meat. Our server brought us the sheet to make our selections. You can choose from mild broth, spicy broth, or half tray of each. The spicy is pretty hot with lots of red chili peppers soaking in it, so I scooped out the chili peppers to keep rhe flavor but lessen the impact on my palate. For 2 guests, I recommend choosing 3 items from the list, maybe 2 protein and one veggie or 2 veggie and one protein to start. You can order more if you finish and need more. This is in addition to the two appetizers you will choose, which is included with rhe hot pot dinner. It's a great value! The sweet and sour chicken was clearly from the prior day. We could not cut it with a knife. Hard and chewy. Crispy chicken the same. Egg foo yung was so greasy and the grease tasted old. Really heavy and bad. Curry chicken and oyster beef all were hard but less so than the others. Shrimp in the fried rice were so tiny. No veggies in the fried rice either. Beef egg rolls were okay but so large we split one. Vegetable lo mein was nothing to write home about. Just bland. No one ever bothered to ask us how the food was. We waited as we had a lot to say. Nope. Honestly, I could not be paid to eat here ever again. I'm really sad. I've been going here off and on for decades and never had a bad experience until today. Please do not spend your time coming for the buffet. Maybe other dishes freshly prepared would be okay. Just avoid the buffet. I would've paid 50% more for dishes that were a little more flavorful and fresh. If you can't cut the chicken with a knife, there's a problem.

We had a wonderful afternoon at Su Plus Two! We needed a spot that would work for our family,…read moreincluding our picky 8-year-old, and this place delivered. Our son was happy with his French fries, which freed us up to enjoy our own meals without any negotiation battles. The menu offers both Mexican and Thai options side by side. These are not fusion dishes; each culture gets its own representation, and the kitchen does both well. I ordered the enchiladas, which were cooked through, well prepared, and finished with queso fresco and crema. The presentation was beautiful, and the flavors were exactly what I was hoping for. My husband ordered the pad Thai, and it was the standout of the afternoon. It ran a touch sweeter than we are used to, but it was balanced, well seasoned, and full of flavor. The presentation matched the taste. Service was attentive and efficient. We were seated quickly, and our food arrived without a long wait, which matters when you are dining with a child. We will absolutely be back.

It was 3-1/2 stars for me but I'd like to come back and try something Mexican. It's all street parking but a public parking lot is available a block away
