My friends and I did our Galentine get together at Lucky ginger. We reserved online super easy and ahead of time. The decor is fun very artsy and moody. Service was good, food took a little long to come out but we did have 6 people in our party. We loved the Valentine's Day drinks they had for the month, I ordered the drunken noodles and it was good! Definitely want to come back and try pho. Parking wasn't the best but it is the third ward so it's understandable.

Delicious spring rolls, shrimp pho was perfect warms your soul & tastes oh so good! Cute little place in the 3rd ward, parking can be tricky. Very pleasant staff. Nice view of the river too!

We had a large party for dinner on a weekday night and the place was not that full, so it felt like it was only us. The place looks a little old school with video games and the black decor, nothing great. Service was quick and attentive. Food-wise, while the edamame was great (hard to mess that up, ya know), the crispy squid, while crispy, had a different sort of breading to it unlike most Asian places and the oil it was fried in, felt old. I ordered the pad Thai for dinner and it arrived a little reddish-pink in color, unsure where the color came from. It was tasty though and the shrimp I added to it, were juicy and fresh. Portion size was large especially for the price. I also ordered a ginger lychee martini and that was definitely a highlight. Strong and made well. We also tried different types of sake and they were good too.

I don't eat pho often, but after this experience, I'll DEFINITELY be having it more! Yesterday, on a chilly day with temperatures in the single digits, a friend and I stopped by Lucky Ginger for lunch and sat at the bar. We both ordered the tofu pho. It was delicious, but I wanted to provide a PSA for plant-based folks: the broth is beef-based. They brought out sriracha and hoisin sauce to add to the pho, along with all the fixings like sprouts, jalapenos, and basil. The soup was light yet still filling and comforting. The broth was flavorful, but I really enjoyed customizing the pho to my taste with the extra toppings. We visited on a Monday afternoon when it wasn't busy. At our seat by the window both the service and lighting were great. The woman who helped us was quick and even took a moment to chat - so welcoming! Looks like there were more tables in the back for busier days too. Definitely a great spot tucked into the Third Ward!

Veggie pho (I already dug into it) and lychee ginger martini (I already drank it. lol).

Every time I've been here, the food has been absolutely BOMB!! Excellent every time. And everyone here is all high vibes. This is a classy, yet still very comfy place. Thank you so much for being so wonderful!

Lucky Ginger gives Bar Vibes. The establishment sells Thai/Asian Food. I was craving pad Thai and this place was recommended by a couple of individuals local to the area. I ordered the Pad Thai with Chicken. Service was fast and friendly. The flavor was decent and I ate it all.

We sat at the bar at Lucky Ginger and had a great experience! The ambiance was solid and they were playing some good tunes while we were there. The pho was very good and hit the spot even on a warm night. The pad Thai was spicy with a great nutty flavor! The service was good, but with only one person behind the bar serving it did take some time to get a second drink. Will be back again!

I went here for lunch and tried the calamari for appetizer and the pad see ew/noodles. Super tasty! They have booth and table seating and has a nice view of the river. Service was good, it was a pretty slow lunch / time. I always ask for no straws, to avoid plastic use

Came here to try the Pho! It was some of our personal favorite. What makes this Pho so delicious is the broth, it's very rich in flavor, savory with a hint of sweetness. We also tried the Chicken satay (comes with 4 skewers, not 2) which was very nicely seasoned, peanut sauce could use a bit more peanut flavor, but overall quite tasty. We enjoyed the vegetable and special pho, both wonderful, but would like to see a bit more of the accompanying garnishes like bamboo shoots, jalepeno, etc! Waitress was prompt and got us sauces and drinks quickly, overall we will be coming back as the Pho broth is quite to-die for!

I'm visiting from NYC and the pad Thai here was better than any local delivery spot I've tried at home. I did a level 3 of spice, which was the perfect amount. The portions are HUGE and enough to feed 2-3 people sharing. I also started off with the calamari which had really nice seasoning. The atmosphere itself is no frills and very basic, but that's all it truly needed. The staff was also attentive considering how busy it was with phone orders, people picking up and a packed dining room with some also at the bar.

I came here earlier this month with some friends after we stopped by the state fair. Since everyone was at the state fair, it was easy to find street parking. We came for dinner. We were able to quickly grab a table and menus were placed in front of us. We then decided to order some apps and our entrees. We went with the chicken wing and beef sticks. The chicken wing was more crispy/burnt than we expected but we still enjoyed the taste. Then we ordered two phos and one pad Thai. Our server forgot to put in the pad Thai but she made up for it later. The phos were pretty standard so I'm glad it tasted like what pho is suppose to taste like. The pad Thai was huge and easily shared by the three of us. When it comes to Asian food, Lucky Ginger did a wonderful job with the taste and presentation.

I ordered here through DoorDash and was excited to try a new Asian food spot in my new city. Honestly, I was disappointed. I'm not knocking any stars off for it being delivered since sometimes that can ruin dishes, but this wasn't the case. The egg rolls were still crispy when they got to me and were pretty decent. I saw a lot of hype on the dumplings but wasn't too impressed with them. For entrees, I ordered the basil fried rice and the pad thai. First, the fried rice was pretty good. I asked for no spice since spicy rice doesn't sound right. There was spice in the rice (lots of rhyming here lol). Although I asked for no spice and my rice was above medium spice, it still tasted fine. I would ensure there isn't spice next time so I can taste the rice. Now, the pad Thai. I was contemplating writing what I had to say about it, but from other reviews I saw, it looks like others felt the same. I'll make this short and sweet. It was the worst pad Thai I've ever had in my life. There was no flavor whatsoever, and it was very dry. The beef was almost nonexistent in the container; if it was there, it was dry, too. I don't like my pad Thai super saucy but this had no sauce anywhere in the dish. I've had my fair share of pad Thai, and this is one I would avoid. I'm hoping if I do have another visit here, I'll try something else and hopefully have a better experience.

My cousin tried the Berry-cation from the summer menu and it was perfect for her - very fresh and a little sweeter. Cousin-in-law got the Thai Goddess, with tomato, and it was very interesting - not quite fruity and not overly vegetal - very cool. Our food was amazing. We enjoyed a good mix of seafood and meat dishes, that included Golden Fungi, Phuket Jor Pu, Namya Pu, Kurobuta Pork in Panang Curry Sauce, Hung Lay Short Ribs, the Samurai Signature Set, Kinnic Crisp Shell, Nam Prik Aon, Waygu A Rockfire, Mango Sticky Rice and a complementary birthday Yuzu Cheesecake. If you are celiac or gluten-free, I don't recommend ever eating here. While they have a dedicated gluten-free menu with options for changing things out, on two separate occasions (of the 4 times I've been there) they've made a mistake. It puts you in a challenging and uncomfortable situation when you are curious about something actually being gluten-free. I know for myself, you don't want to insinuate that you don't trust your server! My most recent visit there I had the shittake/vegetable Ramen with rice noodles. I explained that I can't have soy sauce because it contains wheat. I explained that if they have tamari that they could check if it is wheat free because I often can have tamari instead of soy sauce. I explained that I can't have anything that contains wheat. My server informed me that she would make sure that this was gluten-free, that the rice noodles would be replacing the Ramen noodles. While eating I was curious if the noodles were not gluten-free, and I was informed that they do seem to be rice noodles. We were also sure to order the tofu as steamed rather than fried so that it would not have cross-contamination. (Due to first glutened experience) Later that night and the following day I can report that what I ate was not in fact, rice noodles or gluten free, and I have been glutened. On a previous occasion, I ordered the fresh spring rolls with a sauce that I was informed was gluten-free with tofu. While already eating this, the server came over and informed me that the tofu was not gluten-free, and had been fried. I think that there may be some lack of understanding what gluten-free means and how it impacts people generally in most of the food service industry. I believe they did their best to try to accommodate. That being said if you are celiac or gluten intolerant, please steer clear! Very unfortunate because it was tasty. I understand that as someone who needs to eat gluten-free that I am taking a risk by eating at a restaurant that is not gluten-free forward. Although they have a dedicated allergy menu, two out of the four times I've eaten there it hasn't made a difference. Great restaurant, not great for celiac.

I'll start with what we liked - the ambiance, the location in the historic Third Ward (although finding street parking close by can be tricky on a weekend), the service. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu which is always appreciated and makes for a better dining experience. When we arrived we had a reservation so it was nice to have zero wait time. We were led back to our table and ordered drinks. The non-alcoholic menu was slim on options but the options were creative. We were told dishes are made to be shared so we ordered a few bigger dishes and the kimchi pancakes. When the kimchi pancakes came out it was nice that they were deconstructed so you could build your own as you like. Kimchi can be an acquired taste so I personally liked being able to control how much I had in each bite. The other dishes were large. These are not shareable dishes- they are legt. main courses. The Mongolian beef was ok. It had a lot of vegetables and color which was nice. The Mapo Tofu dish was a let down. It kills me to say that but it tasted funky. It was a strange flavor and not a good one. On the menu, this dish has three chili peppers next to it which the server told us indicated that it is one of the spiciest dishes on the menu. It had zero heat and zero spice. I asked for some chili crunch to add on top which I also thought fell flat on flavors. The flavors all around just weren't jiving for me. And there was fresh cilantro (maybe?) on top which did not help the situation. In hindsight the Top Chef coverage of Dan Dan and hype in the local media made us think every dish here was going to be amazing and unfortunately we didn't think so. I don't need to return any time soon.

Then we ordered the Chili Crisp Deviled Eggs (comes with two pieces), Crispy Thai-Style Oyster Mushrooms, Cappelletti, Slow-braised Bison Cheek, Cha Ca La Vong (Catfish), and the Wood-fired Bavette Steak. Where do I begin? First off, everything was fantastic! Delicious, creative, and memorable. Some dishes even had us ordering seconds! First the Chili Crisp Deviled Eggs: so creamy! We ended up ordering another plate of them (four orders) because one wasn't enough for the four of us. The Crispy Thai-Style Oyster Mushroom: insanely seasoned! It was crispy and the kick of the Thai chili peppers, made it our tables favorite (we ordered another plate of this)! The bits of crunch rice mixed in was also a pleasant surprise. The bits of green beans and cucumber was a nice way to cool the kick of the spices. The Slow-braised Bison Cheek: It was very interesting. Very soft and when paired with the polenta cake, mozzarella, and carrot, it tasted amazing. Cha Ca La Vong (Catfish): Also very interesting. It tastes very similar to a Vietnamese catfish soup! The pineapple fish sauce paired amazing with the glass noodles. The only complaint I have about this dish, was that the glass noodles weren't fully cooked, so they were a bit hard. We came after visiting one of the nearby breweries. We were seated right away at the bar. I had a glass of the Black River sake and my boyfriend tried the Blossom of Peace. His was much sweeter and I was very happy with mine. They weren't served in traditional sake cups, just in regular wine glasses but this was good with me as they were a normal sized wine pour. They had a special for Bluefin Tuna. We shared the Nigiri trio by cutting each piece in half. My favorites were the two fattier cuts ( otoro, and chutoro ) I remember at this point we wished we had ordered another appetizer since the restaurant was busy and our main sushi rolls took a bit of time to arrive. We decided next time we would at least get the edamame in between plates. The rolls we ordered were the Ponzu Jello and Riverwest. The Riverwest description listed a smoky miso mayo which I did not notice a different from regular flavored mayo on a roll. The Ponzu Jello was unique and worth trying! The rolls were fat and very filling so we did not need to order more than two! I think we both agreed that the Riverwest roll was our favorite of the two. After that we noticed there was a special for some premium sake, so we ordered the G Joy. Very delicious, easy to drink and a perfect size to share. I will add this restaurant to my places to visit again!

I got the small and honestly... it was more than enough. Super filling for the price and didn't leave me feeling heavy after My favorite part was easily the garlic butter fried rice substitute that extra $ was SO worth it. It tied the whole bowl together and gave it that rich, savory flavor that made everything hit harder ‍ The crispy chicken was crunchy and coated in their garlic aioli, which was flavorful + creamy, but also kinda different than anything I've tasted before. I even liked the salad The dumplings were good, the sauce that came with it was different, almost tasted sweet. 5/5 Would definitely order again, especially for that garlic butter rice. I can confirm it IS worth the hype! & the cute note??!! Check out my full review on Instagram: @ratedbyaleena

The rice bowl was delicious. Highly recommend upgrading the rice. I like that it comes with a salad but wish it was in a separate container. I dislike when the salad gets warm. The salad dressing was good. I also had the crispy pork dumplings and found those to be great. I will definitely order from them again.
