I'll start with the food is amazing. 5 stars. We've been there a couple times and it's consistent and delicious. Our server this last time on the other hand was terrible. Not the elevated experience you would expect from this type of restaurant. We also had a bday we were celebrating and there was no acknowledgment. We had one menu from the bar. We finally had to ask for more and her whole demeanor was I don't care to be here and hate being a server. Which made our experience not as enjoyable. Didn't want to leave a tip at all. I have been wanting to go to Room Service for a while now and absolutely loved the experience. First, the food was phenomenal! Everything we had was delicious, expertly prepared, and had such cool presentation. We went for an anniversary and it was the perfect restaurant environment and very intimate. The server also included 2 complimentary glasses of champagne, which was such a nice touch. For starters, we had the gorgeous appearing Royal Flower Dumplings served with lettuce, the Spicy Fatty Tuna TatTar on crispy rice, and the pork belly Bao buns. My favorite item from the entire night was tuna TarTar, it was perfectly spicy and tasted so fresh, I highly recommend. I also think that the dumplings had such a wonderful presentation and were an experience, but probably would order a different appetizer next time since I have had them once. For our main dish, the drunken noodles were a must! The thick noodles were delicious and cooked to perfection. We also had Room Service Supreme Hand Rolls set (including spicy toro jalapeño, Saba, Yellowtail scallion, Ama Abi, and Salmon topped ikura) that filled us right up. For drinks, I had to order the One Night in Bangkok signature cocktail with such a fun lemongrass aromatic cloud (so cool and fun!), the berry-cation, and the Thai Godness. All were delicious and would order again! For dessert, we wanted to try something new and picked the Thai Tea Binsu. Three words: Royal Flower Dumplings. This dish was the star of our dinner. Filled with a peanut sauce, the dumplings were peanut buttery and delicious. On a recent visit to Milwaukee, my friend got us an early reservation here for the following day. I think we were lucky because others have said they've had trouble getting one. When we arrived for our 4:30p reservation, there was a line of half a dozen people hoping to get a seat at one of the bars first come, first serve. One is the alcohol bar and one is a sushi bar. Our server was amazing. She had great recommendations and made sure what we ordered was spaced out nicely as the tables are small and some of the dishes take up a good amount of space. We ordered bottles of mineral water. We don't really drink so this made the meal feel even more upscale and it went so well to cleanse the palate between courses. The food was phenomenal. There wasn't a dish we didn't love but extra about out for the hamachi kama yaki - grilled yellowtail collar. It was bigger and meatier than I expected. Delicious. The sushi here is amazing. I'm half Japanese. When I go to sushi places not near a coast, I usually don't get much raw aside from scallops and spicy tuna or salmon rolls. These hand rolls were absolutely fantastic. The seaweed wrappers had covers on them to slide off just before taking a bite so the wrappers stayed crispy. I would go back here just to order various hand rolls. The pad Thai was the best I've had. The noodles were perfectly cooked and smooth in my mouth with the light yet creamy sauce. I visited with my cousin, cousin-in-law and BF to celebrate her birthday. We got a 5:15 reservation on a Tuesday. The greeting from the hostess was warm and friendly; she is an asset and really makes you feel welcome. Once we were seated and finally finished our struggle with what to order, we got our drinks. I had to go with the One Night in Bangkok again because it's just a really nuanced and complex mix of tangy, spicy and a hint of sweet. The smoke show also is impressive. My cousin tried the Berry-cation from the summer menu and it was perfect for her - very fresh and a little sweeter. Cousin-in-law got the Thai Goddess, with tomato, and it was very interesting - not quite fruity and not overly vegetal - very cool. Our food was amazing. The first several minutes were just a series of different people saying "Oh my God" as we tried different things. There was no weak dish. We enjoyed a good mix of seafood and meat dishes, that included Golden Fungi, Phuket Jor Pu, Namya Pu, Kurobuta Pork in Panang Curry Sauce, Hung Lay Short Ribs, the Samurai Signature Set, Kinnic Crisp Shell, Nam Prik Aon, Waygu A Rockfire, Mango Sticky Rice and a complementary birthday Yuzu Cheesecake. Oh my goodness- so we came for a birthday dinner and left very satisfied by the service, ambiance, and meal fit for the birthday boy! We got two small plates and two big plates which felt appropriate for a dinner and without drinks, stacked us up to ~$100. While on the more pricier end, I would argue you pay way more for the aesthetics and service than flavors. The flavors are still, though, fantastic and extremely filling and hearty. We started off with kai tod hat yai which is a Thai style chicken marinated and fried crispy and the spicy fatty tuna tartar. While the chicken was a 4/5 the tuna tartar was a 5/5. Holy 5+ stars. I finally made it here and can confidently say it lives up to the hype. My husband and I, who dined in for our anniversary, both noted that it felt like we were on vacation or simply just transported out of Milwaukee. The ambiance inside the restaurant was wonderful- big fan of the low lighting, the decor, modern and beautiful furniture. They really did it right with the overall design. We arrived on the dot for our 7pm reservation and were seated promptly. Our server, Carli, was so wonderful. Very friendly, and certainly knowledgeable about the menu. And let me tell ya, this is no simple menu! After walking us through her suggestions, she brought over my husband's draft beer and my cocktail- 'the last train to chiang mai' which was vodka based with orange blossom, among other shaken ingredients. Delicious, smooth, and well-presented. Speaking of well-presented... everything we ordered was photo-worthy to say the least. We started with the flower dumplings. Literally dough that was beautiful purple color with gold flakes on top, filled with some kind of insanely delicious cilantro and peanut filling!? It was tough to pick what else to order but landed on the chashu bao buns next (tender, amazing pork belly), along with the short rib from the entree section, and a sushi lobster roll. I won't lie, there wasn't a bit that we didn't like. We were in awe of not only the food and flavors, but also how well-oiled of a machine this restaurant is. From the hostess to the server and the food runners, everyone is helping everyone make the experience for guests smooth and enjoyable. Oh anddd we were so generously treated to a dessert, as we were visiting on our anniversary. The tiramisu-like cake was divine. Only cons: it is wildly hard (like too hard) to get a reservation here. By some miracle we got in on a Tuesday at 7pm, but boy do you have to plan ahead. It's a bummer really, because I'd sooner return if I could. Also, I regrettably answered 'still water' after being asked which kind of water we'd like for the table, and was kind of shook by the $9 price tag for a bottle of water. Note to self: stick to tap. He had great suggestions, we never had empty glasses, and he paced out our meal perfectly. We couldn't decide what to get, so we got 3 starters, a sushi roll, and entrees - so there was a lot to keep track of but he kept the flow moving! Cannot recommend this place enough! It's perfect every time. The short rib quite literally falls off the bone and the broth is decadent with the perfect amount of spice. Had a great double date here, minus the Halloween decor. I would consider this place fine dining, and the skulls and witches and skeletons just go against that vibe. Yes, it's Halloween season, but I would have preferred their normal pretty decor behind all the garish stuff. We were seated upstairs. When reservations were made we were told that we'd be on their rooftop with heaters - I was a bit apprehensive about getting cold, but the rooftop is actually covered, and the gas fire heaters were pretty to look at while providing comfortable heat. Royal Flower Dumplings 4 pieces of purple dimsum, filled with a sweet nutty something. I don't think has meat. It looked pretty, but they were crammed together and sticking to one another. The other bowl had a nice bouquet of lettuce, which was supposed to be used to wrap the dumplings. The bouquet was also pretty, but nested together and it was difficult to take each leaf graciously. I don't think the lettuce complemented the dumping much and would have preferred to each it alone. Spicy Fatty Tuna Delicious! Chashu Bao Buns Each bun was printed with Room Service logo. The pork belly was very tender, the green onion salad (for lack of a better word) was on point, and the sauce was a perfect complement. Perfectly balanced bite! Hung Lay Short Rib I don't think this was meant to be a soup, but the sauce it came in was almost like it. It was very yummy, and calling out to the rice that came with the dish. They work well together. The short rib dish by itself is very flavorful (salty), so it really needs to have some rice to mediate. The meat itself is very, very tender, falling apart. On a personal note, I don't really like meats this tender, because it loses texture. But that's just me. Pad Kee Mao (Drunken noodles) This comes to a very high 2nd place in our search for the best Pad Kee Mao in the States. First place remains in LA. This one is the best in Milwaukee as far as I'm concerned. The chef used udon noodles for this dish. It was still good. I love udon noodles. But for a Pad Kee Mao, I think the regular flat nice noodles would have brought this dish more top notch. I see why they're trying to bring a twist to this dish, perhaps to try to make it special. But seriously, the flavors, the ingredients, were all so good that I think the dish will stand on its own with the normal version. Chicken Classic Pad Thai Another street-food dish that was trying to be more special by being wrapped around with a thin egg crepe. Make for a pretty presentation, but the flavors speak for themselves in this outstanding, basic pad Thai. They could have gone without the egg wrap, which mades the egg very thin. I need to prep this review that I was with a group of 9 adults--the reservation was only for 8 and they allowed us to squeeze in another and it was so kind that they let us get away with that. The reason I speak to the number of adults is because [[HIGHLIGHT]]they were a bit inappropriate: they were very loud and I felt so bad because I have no doubt the group I was with disrupted the experience of other diners.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I'm not a prude but even I was slightly embarrassed at times (I didn't know the group well and didn't anticipate the noise/volume). Alright so we went for our wedding anniversary during the week. We had made a reservation for 7pm and we were running 15 minutes behind. I called and they said "we're actually slammed so this works out". The fact this place is slammed, and stayed slammed, until 10pm close during the week says something. The space is small and it is a tight fit all around. With that said, the decor and vibe is beautiful. I'm surprised to see such a place in Milwaukee, yet alone Bayview. (I enjoy the old days of Bayview more personally) We had a "taco" app and two curry dishes that were fantastic. The price point is a little up there for it, but for an anniversary it was perfect. Went to Room Service for our six year anniversary and engagement celebration. We made a reservation two weeks prior through their website. Walking in, the space and very beautiful and modern. There's a bar area and tables. You order through the QR code, however with a place like this, I would've preferred there was a paper menu. The NA cocktail I got was delicious and I wished that they listed all their drink options on the drink menu. My fiance was looking for whiskey but they didn't have it on the menu but saw the bottles at the bar. Overall the food was good but it didn't blow me away. We ended up getting a bunch of small plates and one entree so that we can try more things. I put in our reservation that we were celebrating our anniversary and engagement and I wished they had done something special to acknowledge that but not a big deal. But it does make the meal more special if it is acknowledged if asked when making the reservation. read more

I had the House Pad Thai a few weeks ago and I still think about it at least twice a week. Our table also had two of the nigiri plates and crab rangoon plates. The nigiri wasn't great? It might be a specific taste but I was not a fan of the seaweed. The crab rangoons were delicious and I highly recommend them. The service was very professional and our waiter was on top of it. Some friends and I finally snagged a reservation yesterday at Room Service. There has been so much hype, we were excited to try it. The restaurant is very well decorated and offers a great overall ambiance. The staff throughout the night were all kind and provided high quality service! All three of us opted for the "Last Train to Chiang Mai" which was one of the better cocktails I've had, would have loved it to be a larger serving! For the food we split, crab rangoons, crispy rice, beef pad Thai, Samurai Signature Set (hand rolls), and the Angry Lobster. All in all, the food was very good. I was expecting the crab rangoon to be the same as Rice n Roll, but they were slightly different. I actually think I prefer Rice n Rolls! And same goes for the crispy rice, The hand rolls were unique in their presentation and tasted overall good, but although not mentioned in the description, it seemed like most had wasabi in them, of which I'm not personally a fan. The pad Thai, and lobster roll were both great! All in all, you can't go wrong. The presentation is great and the food is high quality, and the service is good and quick! I do think Rice N Roll and Kin (same owners I believe?) are both of similar quality and both a little cheaper, and definitely easier to get into, so moving forward I may be more keen on going to one of those! read more

My friend got me a gift card to try this place! It was so good. I love the ambiance of the dim lighting and table lamps is so nice. Our serve was great. Answered all of our questions and made recommendations. We ordered the harajuku roll, crab Rangoon, peanut dumplings, and hand roll set. Everything tasted very good and came out timed perfectly. I will definitely go back. There is enough on the menu to have a whole different menu. Super cute date night place! read more

Dim lighting vibes, whole upstairs room for larger parties. There were three parties of 8+ people that could fit upstairs. Food came out pretty quickly and the small plates were fun and great to share. Royal dumplings were so pretty and unique. The fried chicken was really crispy and the crab Rangoon was also good. We go the spicy tuna tartare but flavor wise I think the nobu salmon one would have been more flavorful. Anyways the star of the show was the pad Thai. Honestly one of the closest options I've had in the U.S to some pad Thai I've had in Thailand. Will definitely be coming back for that monthly haha. I visited Room Service for the second time the other night. My first time was with my husband for Valentine's Day and the experience was phenomenal. I couldn't stop thinking about our dinner and was excited to return. So, I hyped the place up and was so excited to come back for dinner with a good friend. We had early reservations, 5:30, on a stormy Thursday night. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We arrived right on time, and were seated in a not too busy restaurant.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our waitress greeted us right away; and got our drink order going. She asked us (twice) if we were celebrating and both times we told her we were old friends who hadn't seen each other in a while. Hint: don't rush us. She didn't get the hint. She came over multiple times in the first 5 minutes to get our app order. The first two times we told her we hadn't looked at the menu. When she came the third time we ordered the kinnikinic tacos (amazing, my second time having them) and the royal flower dumplings. Our apps came incredibly quickly. The tacos were delicious. The dumpling presentation was very pretty; but very one note flavor. Basically, peanuts. We both were disappointed and would not order again. While we were eating our apps, the waitress came over AGAIN...to ask us if we were ready to order our entrees. Call me crazy but we had just ordered a bottle of wine and two appetizers and hadn't even been there 15 minutes and were eating....give us a few minutes! We basically told her to come back later as we hadn't even looked at the rest of the menu. We finished the apps and decided on the angry lobster roll. We put that order in, and we're looking at the menu for dinner options when she came back. We asked for recommendations and she suggested the short rib or the Namya Pu. She told us that the Namya Pu is a medium heat level. I'm ok with medium am my friend loves spicy so we went for that. That dish came before the lobster roll which surprised us since we ordered the roll first (and wanted the roll first). We expressed surprise to the food runner who told us that wasn't communicated to the kitchen. We said ok, and then AGAIN asked to give us some time before the roll was delivered. She said ok. We started in on the Namya Pu. Nice presentation and the flavor was very good but it was definitely not medium heat level. It was very hot; even my friend had a hard time tolerating it. We told the waitress when she checked on us and she brought some limes to help cool it down. We were a few bites in to the main dish when our lobster roll came. I looked at my watch and laughed- we had literally been seated for 30 minutes at this point. Definitely not a relaxing dinner.l- we felt so rushed. We finished our food and were presented with a dessert menu. Just moments later the waitress came back to take our order- even though we hadn't even picked the menus up. We told her that, yet she came back again a few minutes later. We decided not to order dessert and were immediately presented with the check. We had a good 1/4 bottle of wine left. [[HIGHLIGHT]]And, still many, many empty tables in the restaurant so I'm not sure exactly what the rush was.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I get that restaurants don't want you to sit for hours, but we literally were forced to eat our 3 course $180 meal in about an hour. Literally, we walked out the doors at 6:30, an hour after we walked In. I was disappointed with our experience. The food was good, although I wouldn't order the dumplings again and I'd be careful ordering anything with medium spice level! I do think that had the service been better I'd be much more forgiving towards the food issues. I am not sure I will return. After reading other reviews, I'm adding a few things: we were not provided chopsticks when our sushi was delivered and had to request them. Between appetizers and dinner course we were told to keep our fork. At an establishment like this, I'd expect they can provide a new fork rather than make me place my dirty fork on the tablecloth. We had to ask for new plates when our sushi came, I guess we were expected to eat sushi off a plate covered in curry? I asked our waitress if they had low sodium soy sauce and was responded to with a scoff and a "no". I don't know if it is a faux pas to ask for low sodium in a Japanese restaurant? It felt like the waitress thought it was a very foolish question. read more
