Visited Red Maple with my friends on a Friday afternoon. None of us were huge sake fans, so we wanted to try a few items on the menu. So pleased with our visit! Jim the resident sake expert led us through the brewing process, explained the differences between products, and drinking etiquette. Great experience and definitely on the high points of our weekend. By the time we left we had met so many people! Great assortment of drinks for all price ranges and tastes. No food, but it wasn't a deal breaker. A great atmosphere with great service and a great menu. We stopped just for an Old Fashioned (we have a "passport" ) but loved the company at the bar as well as the unique drink options so we had a second round. While the Red Maple has all the attributes of a welcoming Wisconsin corner tavern, it has enough surprises to make it stand out and draw you in. The proprietors have utilized an Asian theme, both in decor and what they serve, that tantalizes and beguiles. Small, but with a dark exotic intimacy, the excitement begins as soon as you enter Red Maple. They took extra effort to design a unique bar. The drink selection has all your favorites, but their liquor selection and mixology are provocative, transporting you across the Pacific to an oriental fantasy. My cocktails were almost psychedelic tasting, and I was cooing with pleasure. I had never tasted anything like it before, and they were delicious. Pricing is very reasonable. Heidi, Chad and Cory took great care of me, agonizing over what drink would make me happy. I can be difficult. Some may say demanding, but the three of them handled me with smiles and good cheer. Red Maple is new, maybe four or five months old, and they have wonderful ideas for the future. This will become a destination drinking establishment. Such a cute space that's brought me back to bars in Japan. The decor was perfect and the space inviting for new guests and old. They have a great list of cocktails with an Asian ingredient spin to keep with the theme. There is a plethora or sake and also soju options. They cancelled my anime soundtrack request halfway through without saying they word as other patrons funneled in.. Overall I felt like I was a bother and the sake was expensive. We decided to meet up with some out of town friends here prior to dinner elsewhere. They do NOT serve any food here. However, Eric the bartender here was accommodating, friendly and great in our drink requests. Be aware though. Went to Red Maple on a Wednesday which is karaoke night. Vibes were great, they had a good selection of songs to sing, and service was good. If you don't want Japanese drinks off the menu, they do have a small selection of other stuff. Overall fun place! read more

Twice during the week we've dropped into this establishment and twice we have felt at home. Staff shines here big time and the drinks are decent. Unique decor in a dive bar space makes you feel confused in a good way. Would like to see a lot more Japanese whiskey here as it's a missing Milwaukee market. We will be back! read more

We went to Red Maple when they opened on 2/19/23 to check it out. They're a new Japanese Culture Inspired bar in walkers point. The space is small but cozy and they had lots of people there to check it out. The bartenders were quick to get to us even with a crowd and we're helpful with suggestions. I tried their cherry old fashioned which really focused on the cherry flavor and was light and crisp compared to other old fashions. Their menu had sake and other Japanese options for beer, etc. very cute space! read more

We came from out of town for a wedding. Not knowing the area I jumped on yelp to find somewhere to check out. I can't really say this place was bad but we heard loud music and thought why not. Walking in, we were the only 2 there. The bartender was really nice. Taught us a little about saki and even gave us a sample. It's not somewhere I would go again however.
