Not gonna lie...this is the BEST restaurant in Milwaukee. Everything I have tried on their menu is craveable and absolutely delicous. My main recommendations are the soup dumplings, Taiwanese Gua Bao and the Garlic Japanese Eggplant. You definetly should grab a reservation for this restaurant. The food was beyond disgusting. I chose this place based on many positive reviews, but now I'm convinced those can't be real--maybe the employees were told to post glowing reviews. Looking at the pictures, none of them look appetizing either. I ordered dumplings as a starter. They even gave instructions on how to eat them. Trust me, they tasted awful (like something you'd rather not describe). We also tried the shrimp and tofu soup, my daughter had the kimchi Korean ramen, and my son ordered Singapore noodles. Every dish looked so unappetizing that we barely touched any of it. The least bad items were the vegetable fried rice and Mongolian beef--both greasy and extremely salty, but at least edible. It took way too long for us to sit down and try this place. Unfortunately (or rather fortunately?) there are just too many places here in Milwaukee for a newbie to try. Had a bad day yesterday so today... Noodles! Not much can cure a case of the blues like a hot pile of steaming noodles. Ok, maybe some soup dumplings can top the noodles. On our way out to Seven Bridges for a quick walk outside, we stopped in here and fell in love. The 5 spice old fashioned and the apricot whisky sour were both phenomenal in their own unique ways. Then came the soup dumplings. Yum! Steaming hot and a project to eat properly, they are worth the efforts. We ordered the Tom Yum and spicy Korean noodles. The spice on the noodles was mild but it does build on your palette the longer that you eat. The beef was perfectly tender. The soup was wonderfully lemon-grassy and full of flavor. This visit we enjoyed their signature Xiao Long Bao (Shanghai Soup Dumplings), Szechuan Spicy Wontons, and Yãn Su Ji (Taiwanese Salt and Pepper Chicken), and each had a Sake Flight. While the Xiao Long Bao is quite good, it is not great principally because the dumpling wrappers are twice as thick as the best versions of this dish making them chewier and very doughy. They are also so large you cannot enjoy them in a single bite and inevitably need a small bowl for leakage as you're eating them because you will make such a mess. Naturally, you want the ball so you can drink the broth that ends up in it. The Szechuan Spicy Wontons have a wonderful seasoning and sauce, but frequently are overcooked so the wrappers are a little too soft and mushy. I prefer them slightly al dente. The Salt and Pepper Chicken is consistently the best executed dish I've had there. Also known as Taiwanese, popcorn chicken, these bite-size lean pieces of chicken are perfectly fried and satisfying crispy. We were both surprised with how much we liked each sampling in our Sake Flight -- $12 (5oz) they went from dry to sweet as you would expect, and our biggest surprise was how much we liked the sweetest variety. Here are the three that were a part of our flight Kenbishi Kuromatsu, Gekkeikan Traditional, & Moonstone Coconut Lemongrass Nigori. An additional note, the service is generally exceptional, but the hostess stand tends to treat you as a customer to be processed not a guest to be welcomed. The interior is very basic. The tables are comfortably spaced by distance, but the bench seating is too crowded. Getting up to use the restroom feels like you're on an airplane where you're uncomfortably close to other diners. Amazing food, but what stood out most was how they handled my son's shellfish allergy. Finding an Asian restaurant that can safely accommodate this allergy is incredibly rare, and they went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. You heard it here first folks, Momo Mee has the best crispy orange beef in Milwaukee!! Holy crunch, holy sauce, holy delicious! I will be craving that for the next 10-15 business days. First time having soup dumplings and wow were the tasty!! I liked them more than David but that's only because he doesn't like working for his food. I didn't mind because it was kinda fun drinking the soup first and then eating the dumpling part. My least favorite was the spicy noodles. However they were David's favorite! I think I was expecting more of a pad thai flavor, for some reason, so was a little let down by it. However, that's on me and they were still delicious! Just personally wouldn't order again. We LOVE MoMo Mee. It is definitely one of our favorite places for a date-night dinner in Milwaukee. If you go to MoMo Mee, come hungry because you do not want to miss anything: appetizers, drinks, entrees, and desserts! We've had many appetizers and our favorite is the Xiao Bao Buns. The soup dumplings are so decadent and flavorful. We 10/10 highly recommend! I've had many drinks and they are all great! Tonight I had the MO Fashioned and it was a scrumptious take on an Old Fashioned! Not too sweet or too dry. Just right! They have a great beer, wine, and cocktail list. If you come to momo me definitely have a reservation if you can or you may be waiting. I expected it to be bigger on the inside but it's actually quite small. The drinks were great but I got a passion margarita and it was perfect. For appetizers we got the Cheese momo and the Thai chili sauce was fantastic. We also got the potstickers which was stuffed with more of a pork sausage type of meat. It was not exactly what I expected and would have enjoyed the meat if it was minced. For dinner I got the crispy orange beef and the texture was fantastic. But it was not spicy at all. It had a pepper on the menu next to it to indicate spicy and it was not that. It was very good but a little too sweet to eat in one sitting. I also got the MoMo Mee's Famous Xiao Long Bao and it was nice and hot. It tasted like a normal dumpling but still good. I love Momo Mee! It is one of my favorite Asian restaurants in the city as there are options spanning Chinese, Korean, and Japanese cuisines. Momo mee is a great place with wonderful and kind staff. I know for many people they have their favorite food and delicious dumplings! If you are celiac or gluten-free, I don't recommend ever eating here. While they have a dedicated gluten-free menu with options for changing things out, on two separate occasions (of the 4 times I've been there) they've made a mistake. It puts you in a challenging and uncomfortable situation when you are curious about something actually being gluten-free. I know for myself, you don't want to insinuate that you don't trust your server! My most recent visit there I had the shittake/vegetable Ramen with rice noodles. I explained that I can't have soy sauce because it contains wheat. I explained that if they have tamari that they could check if it is wheat free because I often can have tamari instead of soy sauce. I explained that I can't have anything that contains wheat. My server informed me that she would make sure that this was gluten-free, that the rice noodles would be replacing the Ramen noodles. While eating I was curious if the noodles were not gluten-free, and I was informed that they do seem to be rice noodles. We were also sure to order the tofu as steamed rather than fried so that it would not have cross-contamination. (Due to first glutened experience) Later that night and the following day I can report that what I ate was not in fact, rice noodles or gluten free, and I have been glutened. On a previous occasion, I ordered the fresh spring rolls with a sauce that I was informed was gluten-free with tofu. While already eating this, the server came over and informed me that the tofu was not gluten-free, and had been fried. I think that there may be some lack of understanding what gluten-free means and how it impacts people generally in most of the food service industry. I believe they did their best to try to accommodate. That being said if you are celiac or gluten intolerant, please steer clear! Very unfortunate because it was tasty. I understand that as someone who needs to eat gluten-free that I am taking a risk by eating at a restaurant that is not gluten-free forward. this is my 2nd time here. It's quite small inside. But cute decorations. First time was AMAZING. Truly a disappointment coming back again and the food was not good and the service was okay only. Spicy wonton. I came back for this but was not happy with it. It was SOUPY, in a watery sauce and the wontons were clearly overcooked, all the fillings came out of their wrappers. Tonkatsu was no where close to how it's suppose to taste. It was watery, not thick and did not have that brothy pork flavor. I'm truly upset with the Cantonese chow fun bc I came back specifically for this. I loved it so much I also ordered it to go last time. Came here for the first time just to try something new. It was very busy here. We definitely have to wait a bit. Once succeeded for appetizer, we ordered the Taiwan twister wasn't really sure what to expect . It was pretty much potatoes spiraled on a skewer stick with a cumin aïoli, which was pretty good. For my main meal, I ordered the salt and pepper shrimp which came with white rice . Unfortunately, I didn't enjoy this meal at all. It was fairly dry. I wish I had some sort of sauce to help make this more palatable. My boyfriend ordered the orange crispy beef, and he shared some with me to help me eat my food since his dish has sauce. It was very good, but the orange flavor does get a little overpowering after a while. The portions are fairly large, so we both didn't really finish our meals. The service is great. The waiter is very loud but super friendly! Definitely enjoyed the vibe haha. I'm leaving a four star even though we didn't really enjoy our meals. The place is great. First time here, 5-stars on the service as server was very helpful walking us through the menu. My wife and I split everything; started with the Korean beef gua bao which was so fun to eat, beef a little spicy but not bad. Then we had the xiao long bao which they're famous for and it was probably the highlight of the night. Very flavorful broth combined well with the pork and dumpling. This place used to be one of our favorites however after a recent visit we are thinking twice about coming back. Our service with a group of 6 was a little slow which is to be expected with a bigger group but the staggering of food felt extremely rushed. We ordered our usual appetizers and shortly after our main dishes arrived. Note: Do not get the Katsu it was disgusting and barely any curry sauce and after having this at numerous places recently I was highly disappointed. I shared the disappointment with our server and he did not have a care in the world which maybe is my fault for ordering but a meal that is literally untouched I would ask the customer if everything was okay at least. We dine out often and have encountered our fair share of mediocre service--but not this time. Marcos was friendly, attentive, and brought a fun energy to the table that elevated the whole meal. Cozy little spot just south of downtown Milwaukee. Plenty of parking in the back. The Chinese dumplings are incredible. The dumplings I ordered were filled with chicken. Others in my group had veggie and pork-filled dumplings. Everyone loved their choices. Specialty adult drinks were available, as well as a full bar, wine and beer. Our waitress, Lexi, was superb. We wanted to try a different Asian restaurant and came across this place near Cermak. It was easy to find since it's right on the corner of the block. We ordered the pork belly bao, Dan Dan noodles, and spicy pepper shrimp. The portions were good, and everything was satisfying. First time coming here! We were lucky that we were able to get seated right away without a reservation as the place was BUSTLING on a Tuesday evening. Even the bar counter was busy. The waiter sat us right away and I loved that they took our drink order asap without us flagging them down. While we had our Thai tea it was just super nice that everyone at the restaurant seemed to like working there and the customers were all having fun so it was a chill atmosphere, not anything too formal. I got the Shanghai soup dumplings which were amazing and soupy and didn't break too easily. Then for the entree I got the Szechuan Mala Hot Stone pot and it was delicious. The sauce was not too thick which allowed me to actually taste the veggies and meat. The rice was a little dry but the sauce helped it gain some "oomph" again. The bartender was friendly, food brought out prompt, and we ordered a variety of dishes to try more items!
