    Big Momma Roll
    Faith B.

I ordered delivery from Rollup because I was dying for something fresh for dinner on a hot night. I had a Big Momma Roll with scallion fried tofu, the everything (all toppings except chili crisp), pickled carrots, peanut sauce and Avo Queen. Both sauces were good, but I'd lean toward the peanut. It's a classic. The roll was good and definitely fresh, but pretty difficult to eat at the size it comes. I think I'll go for the smaller trio on my next order, simply so everything stays inside the rice paper, rather than tumbling out in a mess of noodles. Great concept.

It's like a chipotle or subway, where you go down the table picking your ingredients as they put together one of the 3 (or 4) vietnamese dishes: spring rolls (like a burrito with rice tortilla and vietnamese flavor inside, noodle bowl (everything in a spring roll but in a bowl without the rice wrap, salad (basically a noodle bowl with greens instead of noodles), or a vietnamese sandwich. So pick the format! a spring roll, noodle bowl, or salad. Then you pick your protein - I realized from looking at my menu picture now that the beef and shrimp will cost an extra $4 per bowl each. Each protein is cooked full of flavor. Then remember that you choose 4 veggies, and then toppings - they are 2 different things. I kept asking for "the everything" as it says on the menu and the server kept trying to tell me I had to pick 4 veggies... lol. They have a huge plastic (or glass?) separator between you and the server so it's hard to hear them unless they speak up. Sauces: The Nouc Cham is like a vinaigrette that usually goes with the vermicelli salad dishes at normal vietnamese places, and the peanut sauce is what you usually get with spring rolls. Avo Queen is a bit different, but creamy and delicious and Guava Vin was too sweet for my taste, but an awesome salad dressing for those who like it a bit more sweet. The black tea with guava flavor and tapioca pearls were quite delicious. I usually don't like the flavored teas - I really prefer the milk tea with pearls instead. But what they serve at Rollup is the fruity teas. However, you can walk over to the Mochinut on the other side and they have the milk teas. The Mochinut in Bayshore is also same owner.

The food is so great and fresh (a bit pricey), but the reason I removed 2 stars is the pace of service. The workers are super friendly but it took so long to order and get food. I ate at the restaurant and saw several people leave due to long wait and even people who were picking up orders were waiting. I'd return but during low-rush times. I really want this place to make it because I love the food! Hopefully they can get more staff or figure out a more efficient system. If you stay to eat they have complimentary fruit infused water, a very cute space, and the perfect playlist!

Love it! Got the big mama roll with lemongrass pork and was very satisfied after. Definitely want to come back and try their other proteins and drinks! Inside a neat and clean. It's also connected to Mochinut for dessert after! Service was nice and quick.

I was really impressed with our experience at Rollup, especially with it being a new business! We ordered online for pickup and the online system was really easy and our order was ready in 20 minutes. I got the Big Momma Roll with chicken, which was delicious and the perfect size. It was nice to get takeout but still feel like it was healthy! We will 100% be back, though I just have a couple suggestions based on our experience! Online, there was an option for extra sauce, but we couldn't figure out how to bypass it, so we all paid 60 cents for an extra sauce. Which is fine, but they only fill up the sauce containers halfway, so really it was two half sauces, and I think one full sauce container would've easily done the trick. We also did carryout, which was quick and smooth. You do have to wait in line at the counter to pick up your food, but my fiance suggested a pick up shelf might be helpful to keep the line moving more quickly. Overall, still 5 stars and the food was delicious! Great addition to KK!

What a great addition to the area! I love seeing all of these new Asian restaurants popping up. We came on opening day and needless to say, this place will be a place I will be frequenting when I'm too lazy to do my own spring rolls at home. The setup of this place is similar to a chipotle or any of those fast casual build-your-owns. Their menu consists of springs rolls (3 or one burrito-sized), noodle bowl, or salad. You pick a protein, veggies (cucumbers, herbs, etc), toppings (fried shallots, peppers, etc), and then dipping sauce. They offer so many different options for each category that you'll surely find a combination that suits your palate. I did 3-spring rolls with choice of nem (made with chicken) and steak. I loaded up on veggies and picked nuoc cham (fish sauce), Vietnamese chimichurri, and avocado queen for my sauces. The Vietnamese chimichurri sauce with my steak spring roll was top notch and I'd definitely recommend that combo for anyone wanting to try something more elevated than your typical fish sauce. I really enjoyed this place. For a food that is simple to some, it really hit the spot for someone who wants a bit more than a shrimp and pork belly spring roll. Definitely check this place out for a healthy and quick meal!

Fun! Great food and atmosphere. We all got our own 3 rolls, different protein, and the works. Healthy, filling, and delicious!

Took my husband for a lunch date. And roll up for the bill of being close by. We had been wanting to try this place. A totally new experience. Everyone was so nice and assisted in our choices as we were completely intrigued and first timers with the choices. We both did the three spring rolls so we could try the variety. The workers behind the counter walked you through the process and made sure things were made the way you wanted. I had shrimp, pork and chicken. I feel that the pork was my favorite. The dipping sauces took everything up a notch and are highly recommend, you can choose two. We stayed at the restaurant to eat, very clean, modern and enjoyable. We hopped next door for mochinut for dessert. They are combined dining so we didn't even have to leave the building. Was a fun experience and will definitely be back. Delicious.

The BEST pho & spring rolls in town -- hands down. Cold weather calls for comfort food, and Roll Up absolutely delivers. I just got pho, fresh spring rolls, and a drink delivered, and every single item was perfection. The oxtail pho is everything you want on a cold day -- a rich, slow-simmered, aromatic broth that's deeply flavorful and full of soul. The oxtail is tender and satisfying, paired with silky noodles and fresh herbs. It's warm, comforting, and deeply satisfying -- one spoonful and you instantly feel better. Pho made with true care and intention. The fresh spring rolls are just as impressive -- beautifully wrapped, loaded with herbs and greens, and so fresh you can taste it. Light, clean, and the perfect balance to the richness of the pho. You can tell this food is made with care, intention, and love. Roll Up doesn't miss -- the quality, consistency, and flavors are always on point. If it's cold outside and you don't feel like cooking, do yourself a favor and order the oxtail pho. This is comfort food done right. this is the place to order from. Highly recommend! Support local, eat well, and thank me later. #OxtailPho #BestPhoInTown #ComfortFood #ColdWeatherEats #PhoLovers #SupportLocal #LocalEats #FoodThatHeals #WarmAndCozy #RollUp #mke

This place is Awesome!! So nice to have a healthier option in town for lunch/dinner. This is basically a "Chipotle" for Spring Rolls! I tried the shrimp, pork, and chicken, I would recommend ALL. The chicken had a hint of sweetness but not overpowering and the pork had a wonderful char grilled taste. I tried the Avo Queen and Peanut sauces and both were to die for. My partner tried the chimichurri sauce with his beef rolls and it was also a perfect match. Very clean and modern atmosphere, tables to sit at and enjoy your food. We will definitely be returning customers as this is a great healthier option for fast casual!

So so so impressed by this restaurant and all of the little details. I like that it's a choose your own of what you get to make and put in the item. The location is great, and a perfect spot to pickup healthy tasty food. The staff seem lovely and helpful.

Yesterday, we tried Rollup in Bayview! We had the spring rolls with beef and a noodle bowl with shrimp. We also sampled a lemonade with strawberry sauce and strawberry popping spheres. They also gave us a free mochinut to split while we were waiting for our food! We chose the Cinnamon Toast Crunch flavor! The vegetables on everything were crisp and fresh! I really liked their "everything" seasoning and would def recommend getting that! The best part was the sauces! The peanut sauce was very flavorful without being too peanut heavy. And the chipotle mayo was also very flavorful without the spice being too overpowering. The drink was very sweet and tangy and refreshing. I think we both preferred the shrimp as a protein. It was juicy and plump. Loved the free mochinut too! Had that great light but chewy mochinut texture and the cinnamon went great with the chocolate icing. I could see this being a viable takeout option if you are looking for something fresher than the usual offerings.

I loved Rollup! It is great twist on fast casual restaurants. I had the big mama spring roll which was fantastic! I recommend grabbing the hibiscuses drink to wash down your meal. The service was friendly and they helped me choose sauces that paired well with my spring roll.

If you are celiac or gluten-free, I don't recommend ever eating here. While they have a dedicated gluten-free menu with options for changing things out, on two separate occasions (of the 4 times I've been there) they've made a mistake. It puts you in a challenging and uncomfortable situation when you are curious about something actually being gluten-free. I know for myself, you don't want to insinuate that you don't trust your server! My most recent visit there I had the shittake/vegetable Ramen with rice noodles. I explained that I can't have soy sauce because it contains wheat. I explained that if they have tamari that they could check if it is wheat free because I often can have tamari instead of soy sauce. I explained that I can't have anything that contains wheat. My server informed me that she would make sure that this was gluten-free, that the rice noodles would be replacing the Ramen noodles. While eating I was curious if the noodles were not gluten-free, and I was informed that they do seem to be rice noodles. We were also sure to order the tofu as steamed rather than fried so that it would not have cross-contamination. (Due to first glutened experience) Later that night and the following day I can report that what I ate was not in fact, rice noodles or gluten free, and I have been glutened. On a previous occasion, I ordered the fresh spring rolls with a sauce that I was informed was gluten-free with tofu. While already eating this, the server came over and informed me that the tofu was not gluten-free, and had been fried. I think that there may be some lack of understanding what gluten-free means and how it impacts people generally in most of the food service industry. I believe they did their best to try to accommodate. That being said if you are celiac or gluten intolerant, please steer clear! Very unfortunate because it was tasty. I understand that as someone who needs to eat gluten-free that I am taking a risk by eating at a restaurant that is not gluten-free forward. Although they have a dedicated allergy menu, two out of the four times I've eaten there it hasn't made a difference. Great restaurant, not great for celiac.

When the kimchi pancakes came out it was nice that they were deconstructed so you could build your own as you like. Kimchi can be an acquired taste so I personally liked being able to control how much I had in each bite. The other dishes were large. These are not shareable dishes- they are legt. main courses. The Mongolian beef was ok. It had a lot of vegetables and color which was nice. The Mapo Tofu dish was a let down. It kills me to say that but it tasted funky. It was a strange flavor and not a good one. On the menu, this dish has three chili peppers next to it which the server told us indicated that it is one of the spiciest dishes on the menu. It had zero heat and zero spice. I asked for some chili crunch to add on top which I also thought fell flat on flavors. The flavors all around just weren't jiving for me. And there was fresh cilantro (maybe?) on top which did not help the situation. In hindsight the Top Chef coverage of Dan Dan and hype in the local media made us think every dish here was going to be amazing and unfortunately we didn't think so. I don't need to return any time soon.

I have been wanting to go to Odd Duck for so long, and I finally got the chance and it did not…read moredisappoint! We had a wonderful experience dining here! Our server, Adam, was quick and attentive. He was funny, suggested items for us to try, and was very tentative of our friend's food allergy. We started the night with a few drinks; #39 non-alcoholic Paloma, #129 non-alcoholic sbagiato, and #33 Sherry Pear-Y. All of which were absolutely amazing! Then we ordered the Chili Crisp Deviled Eggs (comes with two pieces), Crispy Thai-Style Oyster Mushrooms, Cappelletti, Slow-braised Bison Cheek, Cha Ca La Vong (Catfish), and the Wood-fired Bavette Steak. Where do I begin? First off, everything was fantastic! Delicious, creative, and memorable. Some dishes even had us ordering seconds! First the Chili Crisp Deviled Eggs: so creamy! We ended up ordering another plate of them (four orders) because one wasn't enough for the four of us. The Crispy Thai-Style Oyster Mushroom: insanely seasoned! It was crispy and the kick of the Thai chili peppers, made it our tables favorite (we ordered another plate of this)! The bits of crunch rice mixed in was also a pleasant surprise. The bits of green beans and cucumber was a nice way to cool the kick of the spices. The Slow-braised Bison Cheek: It was very interesting. Very soft and when paired with the polenta cake, mozzarella, and carrot, it tasted amazing. Cha Ca La Vong (Catfish): Also very interesting. It tastes very similar to a Vietnamese catfish soup! The pineapple fish sauce paired amazing with the glass noodles. The only complaint I have about this dish, was that the glass noodles weren't fully cooked, so they were a bit hard. The Wood-fired Bavette Steak: My god, this was amazing! It was perfectly cooked, the dark chocolate bordelaise paired with the mushrooms and steak was incredible. Like I said, everything was amazing! Our table was blown away with the creativity and quality of the food. The service was amazing, everyone was very sweet and helpful. The atmosphere was lovely and quirky. It was fun spotting all the duck decorations. Honestly, cannot rave enough about this place, I look forward to the next time I visit!

The servers here know the menu very well which was super helpful when deciding what we wanted to order. The food was good but out of the 4 dishes we ordered the Tempura Nori Roll GIMMARI was the only memorable item to me and our server said it would be rotated off of the menu. I can tell that there has been a lot of care and detail put into the experience here and I can really appreciate that.

I had ordered a cup of Tom Kah and was delivered and charged for a bowl of soup, which was a big price difference. That was a tad annoying just because we had nearly four different people approach our table to check on us to start. The timing of our dishes was off as well. I received my Pud See Yew and it was nearly 10 minutes until the Pud Thai came out and when it did the food had a horrendous burnt taste. We did send it back and they gladly corrected it, but at the same time something seemed off with communication. Our servers were nice, but they filled our waters like 30 times - every time we took a drink it seemed. Although very attentive, felt a bit overdoing it and didn't allow us to chat consistently without interruption of asking how is everything when we didn't really have food yet. I would come back because the food was so good.

We used Uber and paid for the fees, but it's astrocious. Pud kee mow (beef) Very nice, though not great. On the search for the best Pud keeper mow in town, and this isn't it. It needs a tad more heat and a little less sugar. Tom yum goong Bowl of hot and sour shrimp soup - tasted great, but wish there were more shrimp than mushrooms. It was more tom yum mushroom than "goong". Lemongrass sour and the little kick was perfect. Pud sweet basil leaves (beef) Ok, I know the word "sweet" goes in this dish, but it is sweeeeet. And it has way more peppers and onions than basil. It would have been a much better dish with basil and less sauce. Overall, I won't order delivery from them again. I might try revisiting in person sometime. No promises.
