Honestly, the name had me thinking this was a Chinese restaurant selling pork dumplings. This is actually a legit Vietnamese restaurant with traditional (rather than fusion) Vietnamese cuisine. The place was clean and bright. Our server was engaging and helpful. Food tasted outstanding! Portions were generous. They don't skimp out on the customers. Because of my keto diet, I ask for the noodles on the side and usually give them to hubby. Usually when I do this, the soup bowl looks pretty skimpy, because there are no noodles inside. But here at BaoBao, they filled up that bowl with meat! I've never had it so generous. Super hospitable!! Eggrolls A bit pricey, but good! I'd get them again. Spring rolls Pretty good, but not as good as the egg rolls. Pho Soup is just right, portions are generous, veggies are fresh. Just the right cup of soup! Grilled pork vermicelli The egg roll that came with was great. The pork was ok, but not the best I've had. Steamed ice and something dish I can't remember what my friends had, but it was steamed rice with some meat. They liked the taste, but the presentation of this dish was somewhat poor, compared to the other dishes. It was a very big plate so the food looked slim. In any case, definitely coming back for Pho! read more

Much better this time around. I got the spicy hue noodle aka Bun Bo Hue. It is very authentic. They even gave me shrimp paste, which a lot of restaurants neglect to include. The shrimp paste is traditionally served with this dish so that you can add it to the broth to enhance the flavor. This broth was already so rich and delicious, and the shrimp paste made it better. The chicken fried rice was also pretty good. Chicken was juicy and rice wasn't overly salty. I know a lot of places like these aren't known for service. However, this time it was actually not bad. They refilled our glasses multiple times throughout our meal. Also, they haven't changed their prices (for not at least), so the costs now are actually average compared to other restaurants in the area with the same cuisine. I'm glad I gave this place another try! I'll definitely be back to try some other items on their menu. read more

Got the Pho with everything. Flavor was good a portion size was average. But the price was higher than comparable Pho. The basil they provided also were not very fresh. Also got their spring rolls...and I'm not from Wisconsin but normally springs rolls are fried. These were not. See pics. The menu is quite extensive as they offer more than Pho. Service was fine and they were pretty attentive and offered to split our bill for us which a lot of Asian restaurants would normally not do. It's located kind of standalone and the seating appears like a food hall. But it's a decent spot for Pho read more

Decided to give this place a try now that they opened. We went on a Saturday morning after they open and it was surprisingly emptied. The inside was clean but seemed a bit out dated. We ordered 3 items to try: Fresh spring rolls with meat: the spring was good but there wasn't anything special about it, taste like the typical spring rolls that you can get at any restaurant. I think one thing they can add is some mint leaves, this would give it a fresh and aroma taste. Overall I thought it was okay. Special Vermicelli noodle dish: this dish was well presented and had a lot of different veggies. The grilled pork was on the saltier side. There was a lot of different meats that was mixed in. I think the fish sauce that was provided was a bit watered down and could have more flavor. After adding the sauce the entire dish was still a bit bland side. Overall plenty of food but lacking some flavors. Overall good dish. Banh Mi sandwhich: this is what I came here for is to try their banh mi sandwhich because it's written on the outside of the building and also because Milwaukee has disappointed a lot when it comes to good banh mi. I'm from California so I know good banh mi. This banh mi sandwhich I think is the best if we are comparing just the original style. It is a large sand which and will definitely fill you up. The bread reminds me of a fresh baked French bread roll, nice and soft and fluffy. Will me my go to for banh mi sandwhich when I'm on this side of town. Overall I'm rating the sandwhich the high list of the meal and best in Milwaukee. Overall my experience and the food I ate that day is allowing me to rate this a 4/5 stars. I think there is some improvements but I would come back and try other dishes to give it a better grade. I would recommend giving this place a try since it's still new and I'm sure they can use the feedback. read more

This place is simply amazing all around with the food, ambience, and staff. It really amazes me how fast you are served and how fast the tasty food comes to you. As of this review I think I have become a regular customer there because, I can't get enough of this place and there is plenty on the menu to not get bord. I just am worried that it will be come "too popular" but hey its good for business for them! For now I just enjoy and you should too I give them 5 starts ! read more

Happy to see this place finally open its doors. The space is a lot larger and decorated more elevated than their first location. With this, I also feel like they increased their prices a bit to match their new concept. I only came to try the pho this time around but the menu seems the same as their other location. Pho is on the sweeter side but still a solid place for Vietnamese food with nice service. read more

Staff is very very friendly and attentive. Food is well above average but some dishes aren't as outstanding as one other Vietnamese restaurant. My wife was disappointed with the egg roll - bland with too much meat but too few vegetables for balance. Calamari were rubbery and taking a bite simply pulled out the ring from the coating which crumbled and fell on the table and lap. I thought calamari rings are tenderized before frying. Those are minor complaints, of course, but some people in our group found the food to be a bit under-seasoned. My own biggest complaint was the annoying techno-pop music which killed the atmosphere and made it difficult to have a conversation. If we don't return for a second meal, it will be because of the crappy music. Silence would be preferable to that noise and it would be easier to talk to each other. So TURN OFF the music - or else play some native music at a low volume. read more

On the plus side this is a classy, clean, spacious, newly remodeled Vietnamese place, plenty of parking in a parking lot. So in these ways it stands head and shoulders above the other authentic Southeast Asian joints in town. The Bahn Xeo, spring rolls, long rice wrapper sausage rolls, many pho options, are all good but at higher prices than you'll find at Vientiane. However, Vientiane is not as nice in terms of ambiance and décor, the service isn't as prompt because there's only one server, and Vientiane is actually Laotian not Vietnamese. Bao Bao serves up an excellent lime soda, but it is a whopping $8. Hand squeezed though, and so delicious on a hot day. The Vietnamese-French iced coffee here is excellent. The offer some dishes not found elsewhere like jelly fish salad. Overall the food is good, the prices are okay. read more

This was the new restaurant of the week and it seemed like forever for this place to actually open. The place is a fresh remodel with an open concept dining with a mix of tables and half booths. The people were very friendly and stopped over to checkout on me regularly. I ordered the #2 pho Wi high is basically beef, meatballs and tendon. The #2 pho came like in 2 minutes with plenty thin beef and meatballs but completely tossing the pho I couldn't find any signs of tendons and I showed a server who asked how I was doing and I showed her that I can't find any tendons in my pho so she asked if I ordered the #1 or the #2 and I said the #2. The server went to the kitchen to get me a side of tendons and she comes back a bowl with one tendon in it, seriously. Are they really this skimpy on the tendons in the pho. I ordered the #2 pho just for the tendons which is a complete let down. The pho broth was ok but it lacked the depth and richness like my favorite place that C19 killed. The bowl was a nice size with plenty of noodles and it had the typical garnish, I use all that in the pho. Looking at the menu I thought the egg rolls for $10 was expensive and the whole menu seemed slightly more expensive than comparable restaurants. This restaurant was better than the last new one on Oklahoma and hwy 100 which was super skimpy on the protein. read more

I was really excited about baobab but, I have to say I was disappointed. The server really did not check in and the person I was with said the meat smelled and couldn't eat the pho. I fortunately got a vegetable pho and it was good. It would have been nice to hear what the kitchen had to say about the meat. Sadly the waitress did not let us know what they said. read more

The food is amazing. The BBH is far best what I've tried from all over. The service and food combine is 10/10. Never disappoint.

The food is generally well-prepared and quite good. The portions are large, although the prices are a bit higher than some other pho places. I ordered vegetable and tofu pho. In short order a big steaming bowl of pho was served, along with a side of peppers, bean sprouts and basil. The broth seemed well prepared. I dug in. My companions' meals were also served promptly. However, after eating mine for awhile, I realized there wasn't a single bit of tofu in the bowl. No one came by to ask how the food was or how we were doing. I later flagged a server, and pointed out my vegetables and tofu contained no tofu. They offered to bring me some tofu, but by then my companions were done eating and I was already pretty full, so I declined. They did not offer to take anything off the bill or otherwise offer an apology for the error. Therefore, I found their service not so good, and I can get pho elsewhere in the future. read more

This is hands down one of my favorite spots for pho noodles. The food is always fresh, flavorful, and perfectly comforting. You can really taste the quality in their broth, rich, aromatic, and just the right balance of savory and sweet. The portions are generous and the ingredients are super fresh. I also highly recommend trying some of their appetizers. Everything I've had here has been delicious. Service is consistently excellent. The staff is warm, friendly, and attentive without being intrusive. I always feel genuinely welcomed when I come in. The ambiance here really sets it apart. I absolutely love the sound of the waterfall. It adds such a relaxing, zen vibe to the space. The music is super cool and gives the restaurant a fun, modern feel. They also have a huge TV screen where you can catch the game while enjoying your meal, perfect if you're dining solo or with friends who are into sports. Overall, BaoBao Cuisine delivers on every level with great food, great service, and an awesome atmosphere. read more

Great food; and great service both dine in and carry out! I've gotten the sandwiches and the pho

Came by lunch. Service was pleasant, ambiance casual and food in my opinion is the best in the Milwaukee area next Pho Best which is no more. Good markers for a Pho establishment are the condition of the produces and the broth. Here the bean sprouts were crunchy, jalapeño wasn't stale and the broth was well balanced. Certainly a repeat type of establishment, hope they keep up the good work. read more

How about some delicious Asian food with a side of Fox News propaganda? Why turn the stomaches of so many in one of the most diverse regions of Wisconsin, and the entire Midwest for that matter when your food is top notch? I don't need left leaning news either. How about something neutral? Life is hard enough that you don't want your dinner tainted by biased news. read more

I would describe the restaurant as absolutely delicious. I enjoyed how the server delivered the food. It might be the best restaurant in town. Because you don't have to go anywhere else. All you need to do is bring an empty stomach and enjoy their meals. The way they decorate the restaurant makes me feel better, it's quite homey, almost like home. My recommendation: P1: Special pho (pho dac biet) V8: Hue Spicy Beef Noodle Soup S6: Roasted Quails (three entire quails) Must try, omg, you know how hard it is to locate the restaurant with roasted quails, it reminds me of a feeling of street vendors' cuisine, very basic but the taste is like bomb from your tough T5: VIETNAMESE ICED COFFEE - Of course, you can't visit a Vietnamese restaurant without trying their Vietnamese iced coffee. On my visit back to my hometown from Scottsdale AZ I visited Bao Bao Pho Noodles. The food was fantastic. Waiter was really helpful telling me his favorite dish: shaken beef tenderloin. It was so tender and flavorful. The Pork spring rolls were of generous size and the peanut sauce seemed to have a special ingredient that set it apart from others I had. Overall a terrific Vietnamese restaurant. I need to come back and skip the appetizer next time to save room for desert! The portions are very generous! read more

My new favorite pho spot in Milwaukee. Pho was rich and savory. The service was exceptional and overall great atmosphere.

Please watch out the receipt of the meal. They are dishonest about it, overcharging the prices compare to menu. That's not good to do business. I definitely won't come back that place. read more

We were so excited to support a locally owned restaurant, unfortunately we were less than impressed. Aside from another couple, the place was practically empty for lunch service. I figured it was because they are relatively new. The waiter was attentive, though the food didn't live up to the price point. For $15, the pho broth lacked depth. It tasted more like a seasoning packet than the rich beef bone broth flavor you would expect in a good bowl of pho. The meats that came with the combo rice dish were dry and overcooked. Not worth the $25 price tag. I'm ok with a higher price, though couldn't justify the value here. read more
