I have tried to like their food here but every time I've tried I have been disappointed. Their crab rangoons were....interesting. I usually have a worry that they will be too creamy from the cream cheese cause that is almost always why I end up not liking them from a place, but theirs was like oddly clumped together, not at ALL creamy??? Still have no idea what that texture was. The broccoli dish was okay too, hard to mess up! The service was just fine no complaints there. read more

It was time to visit an old friend and get my favorite Singapore noodles that I have gotten here since they first opened almost 10 years ago. My first thought is that it's not as nice as it once was and looks dumpyer and different with a different interior because the sushi counter and sweets counter is completely gone. I get my Singapore noodles home and it doesn't look as good as I remember it because all the shrimp dishes I have had have nice looking average sized shrimp and the shrimp's in todays order were half the size and pathetic frozen looking. I have eaten here a little under 10 times on average once a year and I have never had a problem with the food until today, is this even the same place because the restaurant and food doesn't look the same anymore. Very good, high quality Chinese food that's a full step above your average Chinese takeout. Friendly staff, albeit service is consistently a little slow. High prices, but the food makes it worth it. Biggest complaint would be a lack of diverse seating, with the majority of the restaurant being booth seating, and only two normal tables, one of which is a two person table and the other is a massive round table for a large party. read more

We visited Fusion Café because some friends said that they liked its food. It was a slow time of the day when we arrived, and the restaurant staff were quite friendly and eager to help. The inside of the restaurant was nothing fancy but looked clean. We ordered two meat dishes, two vegetable dishes, a noodle dish, and some frozen dumplings to take home. * Cumin Beef (3.5/5 stars). The beef seemed to be of decent quality but was precooked (probably for use in several beef dishes), so the flavor of the sauce (which was not bad) did not get into the beef. * Stir-fried Crispy Pork (1.5/5 stars). The small pork bits were wrapped in batter and deep fried but unfortunately not very flavorful, and many of the pork bits were quite chewy with gristles. This was the most disappointing dish. * Stir-fried Eggplant (3/5 stars). The eggplant was probably steamed much earlier in the day without much flavoring, causing the dish to be rather bland. * Stir-fried Shredded Cabbage (4.5/5 stars). The cabbage was fresh and crispy, and the flavor was quite good. This was the best of the dishes we had for the meal. * Home-made Noodles with Pork and Pepper Cauce (4/5 stars). The noodles appeared to be freshly made and of high quality, and the sauce was quite tasty as well. * Napa and Prok dumplings (3.5/4 stars). The frozen dumplings were clearly better than most of those sold in grocery stores, but the fillings inside the dumplings were too heavily flavored with five-spice powders, overpowering the taste of the pork and vegetables. We had high hopes when we went to the restaurant but were disappointed at the overall quality of the dishes we ordered on the recommendation of the owner. We had a wonderful dinner at the new Fusion Cafe. I always like northeastern Chinese cuisine and used to eat a lot when I lived in China. We were impressed by the good flavors here. We ordered Sweet And Sour Crispy Pork, Napa & Pork Dumplings, Stewed Pork With Pickled Napa & Glass Noodles and Stir Fried Green Beans & Eggplant. Napa & Pork Dumplings were definitely homemade style and we loved the fillings. So flavorful. The dough was fresh and slightly chewy. Yummm. Stewed Pork With Pickled Napa & Glass Noodles and Stir Fried Green Beans & Eggplant were both authentic, savory and great dishes to eat with rice. Sweet And Sour Crispy Pork ("Guo Bao Rou") always ranks NO.1 in my mind when it comes to NE Chinese food. I thought they did an ok job here - fresh and hot out of frying pan and the portion size was big. I just wish the pork and the breading could both be thinner and there could be a bit more sauce on the meat. The new owners were so friendly. We loved chatting with them. What can I say?! I'm so glad the restaurant changed ownership because I purposefully never went to fusion cafe because they sold sushi Chinese food . I came here after my friend suggested that their northern Chinese cuisine was excellent and I was right to listen to them and went to Fusion Cafe for the first time. My partner and I love the cumin lamb and sautéed string beans from Sze Chuan restaurant, so we decided to try the same thing here to compare the two restaurants. I can say that their cumin lamb is fantastic and they definitely give more lamb than other ingredients, compared to Sze chain where you will often get more jalapeños than lamb. As for the string beans, I prefer Sze chuan restaurant's version more, though it was also very good here. The other two dishes we got were both recommended by the waitress and they did not miss. God, the handmade noodles in the pork and pepper sauce were SO GOOD, the noodles were the most QQ noodles I've had in Milwaukee and I can't wait to come back for more. The sweet sour pork was also good but it the coating could have a little more flavor or it can be offered with more sauce on the side. Nevertheless I still enjoyed every bite. I don't come here for the sushi, I come here for the noodle soup! I highly recommend this joint if you're looking for soup with handmade noodles. My favorite soup is the Beef Shank Soup with handmade noodles. I upgrade my broth to hot&spicy for $.50 more. It is definitely worth the upcharge for the spices but I wouldn't say it is any spicier than mild-medium. It is the perfect spice for a fall evening. If you want to switch up the meat then the Ox Tail is great choice as well. I am pretty sure it is the same broth for both. I also recommend the Wonton Noodle Soup if you want a clean and clear broth with wontons. Perfect for sick days! My last recommendation is their crabrangoons. They are the classic star shape and you get 6 pieces for $4.95. Each rangoon are perfectly crisp and generously filled. Definitely check out Fusion Cafe for their noodle soups this fall. We tried Fusion Cafe on a Saturday night recently; it was pretty empty but we loved all the delicious flavors! We were really excited to try the Beef Stew Noodle dish, since we've only had it one other time in another city, and have been eager to find another place that makes it. Now I am not a connoisseur on noodle dishes but I ate this dish up so quickly. The noodles tasted homemade, the beef was tender and delicious and the broth was so flavorful; it truly was a perfect dish for a cold day. I also recommend getting dumplings to start; we got the chive and pork; dipping them in the chili oil and soy sauce. This place used to be the best for the homemade noodles with beef. But after new ownership took over it was just never the same. I have not been back since, but will definitely give it another shot. I think the currently taste is very particular to certain village in China. so if one isn't accustomed to that flavoring it could be a challenge. Just might be fun just to explore. I was very disappointed with my food ( which I didn't eat much of) I had let them know that and they basically said oh sorry and at the end of the meal gave me a $10 credit to come back not sure why if I didn't enjoy my food I would come back and my portion alone was $17. I really enjoyed my meal at Fusion! It wasn't very busy on a Saturday evening. The menu is cohesive and descriptive, which is something most Asian restaurants lack. It was nice to have an idea of what comes on a plate before ordering. The atmosphere is very simple. Nothing fancy, but not dirty by any means. Service was great. Jacob and I ordered a couple beers along with our food. The drinks came up immediately. The food didn't take too long but the place was practically empty by then. My chicken dish was tasty though it needed hot sauce for a little "oomph". There wasn't a ton of chicken throughout but enough to make a meal along with the two pounds of noodles. Jacob really enjoyed his dish, though it was also a little light on protein. We ordered a Philadelphia roll and we were fighting over it. Great price for it, and the salmon tasted very fresh. Tried this place out for the first time. Decided to get the Singapore noodles based on the reviews from Yelp along with the crispy spring rolls. Due to Covid you're not allowed to come into the restaurant. They have a table blocking the door when you come in and they will come to you to take your payment and give you your food. I called my order in and they were very pleasant on the phone. When I arrived my food was ready to go they took my payment and I was out of there. It was very fast service. The Singapore noodles were good however I've had better. It was lacking in flavor and not very spicy. The crispy spring rolls were excellent! Very crispy and quite tasty and I loved the sweet-and-sour sauce that came with it. Based on my meal choice I'll have to go back again and try other items on the menu seeing I wasn't blown away by the Singapore noodles. This used to be one of my favorite Asian restaurants in West Allis. My go-to was ALWAYS their Singapore noodles, pan-fried dumplings, and fried chicken cutlet. Their tempura chicken sushi was also fantastic. I also loved the way they handled sanitation, masks, and no-contact service during the peak of the pandemic this past year. But all of that is now out of the window with the new owners. Not only has the menu changed, but the staples of the restaurant that I used to get are just plain not good. This is my first Yelp review EVER, so this should tell you I was pretty turned off by the experience. The pan fried dumplings had the weirdest texture and taste I have ever experienced whilst eating a pan-fried dumpling (and I have eaten A LOT of dumplings). I was told they were "homemade" and tasted different than the previous owner's dumplings. But, these legitimately tasted like they should have been made at home and stayed at home. Same goes for the Singapore noodles I ordered. They were darker than any Singapore noodle I've ever had and had the appearance of being burnt/overcooked (it's usually in a yellow curry sauce, while this was straight up brown and caked in clumps of curry powder). The meat was verrrry questionable looking. I couldn't even eat the steak or chicken in the dish because it looked and tasted so off, for lack of a better phrase. The shrimp didn't even look like shrimp. It was this weird twisted coil of meat. The bubble tea was even meh. You could tell it was just an instant powder mix. Nothing special. Oh, and the cherry on top of it all? The 3 things I ordered cost about $6 more than what I'd usually spend, and that's including a tip. I paid $30+ for a very, very subpar meal. All in all, i'm super bummed about this. I made a special trip to Stallis just so I could eat here, because to me, they were the best in the area. And they had a fun-solid, all-around menu. I constantly recommended this place to people. Now I won't even give it a second thought for myself, or anyone else for that matter. Shame that a change in ownership can change so much about a restaurant. If you haven't been to this place in the past 3-months, I wouldn't go out of your way for it. I, sadly, won't be back. P.s. Healthy and tasty Taiwanese cooking in Milwaukee. The flavors are distinct and the freshness of the food is really highlighted through the cooking style. The food is pretty similar in quality to Chicago Chicagotown and a great choice if you live in the Milwaukee area. Here are my thoughts on some items: Hong Sue Pork: Sliced into nice sized portions, marinated well, and cooked to perfection with very nice and tender meat. Best version of this dish I've had in the Milwaukee area. Beef Stew Homemade Noodle: Beef is tender but overall the meat wasn't marinated enough. Noodle are fresh and more of the fold and cut instead of the hand-pulled type. Very authentic and probably better than any handmade noodle I've had in the midwest. Shrimp stir fried noodle: Like a lo mein, light flavored but the noodles were surprisingly bouncy. Bakery items were also delicious and similar in quality to the nicer bakeries in Chicago Chinatown (like Chiu Quon). Overall, a great choice for delicious Chinese food. read more

Wonderful place! Very friendly lady greeted us and seated us right away. She was terrific and helped me figure out a meal for my granddaughters. Who wanted green peppers and broccoli with rice and shrimp. Not on the menu but we improvised shrimp fried rice adding broccoli . (They don't do green peppers or mushrooms . I hate both anyway! Lol) She went through the drink menu with us to find a wonderful strawberry drink for one of my girls. It was special to open and Arya had a great time helping our server. Glass bottle that she might keep. I ordered crab ragoons to start and they were so light and crispy with a lovely plum sauce to dip. My dish was a freshly made udon noodle shrimp. So good. The shrimp fried rice was lighter and fresher than your average Chinese restaurant. Perfect! The girls couldn't get enough of the delicious shrimp. Coming to me to scam some of mine. I found this place on Yelp because I was craving some bubble tea! I had no idea the other goodies you can get here and kind of regret not eating here instead of another place we went prior to this. Oh well, it just gives us an excuse to come back! I got the passion fruit slush with jelly and tapioca (extra 50 cents each) and it tasted soo fresh! While I was there at the counter, I noticed their bakery items and had a sweet tooth so I purchased their cake roll, 2 fruit cakes, and 7 of their sponge cake thingies. I couldn't wait to get home to eat it, so my husband and I shared their sponge cake dessert and we loved it! So moist, not too sweet, and fluffy. Something I'd eat with coffee or just alone is good as well. I also noticed behind the counter, their specials. Now, I love foodie adventures and like to try new things so I had to get their special of spicy pork ears, and it was delish! Just passing through and we saw this and decided to try. Awesome variety of foods. Fusion Cafe has a little bit of everything. And at excellent prices! My so had the shrimp soup with homemade noodles, one daughter had yellowtail poke bowl, I shared the Singapore noodles with my 9 year old. She loved it! And the portion was HUGE! We still had leftovers. My husband had the beef stew with homemade noodles. Omgosh, I couldn't stop sipping the broth! It was flavorful and spicy. Absolutely excellent!! There was another post written below kind of similar to my feelings about fusion cafe. So fusion has come under new ownership and unfortunately this equates to a difference in the quality of the food. The bubbles in the bubble tea were mushy and not solid with a bite to them as they should be. We ordered the pork potstickers and they were okay. They used to have sushi, large soups, and my favorite chicken katsu (which was to die for). I asked the waitress if they still had the chicken katsu and they no longer do as they have a whole new menu now. My last point is that we ended up paying close to $70 for two people to eat whereas in the past we'd probably pay around $40. Sad to say this will probably be the last time I'll be eating here. All I can say is WOW! Due to the covid virus we could not eat in and ordered takeout. They were very respectful of the rules for social distancing. We waited outside until our order was ready. Then they called us to the door we gave him the credit card and then set the food on the table where we could pick it up. Now to the good part the food was super awesome I had mai fun huge portion rice noodles shrimp chicken and pork we also had crab rangoon crispy hot and very creamy inside. DH had oxtail soupwith home made noodles. The portion was huge. We also ordered spring rolls and that was the only slightly disappointing thing for me ithad a funny flavor like too much Chinese five-spice. I located this place using Yelp, so I took my husband here on a date. Initially he wasn't thinking he'd be too impressed, but after we tried several dishes, we were hooked and have returned several times since. They have a wide variety of foods, across Japanese and Chinese cuisines. Appetizers Ramen (Noodle Soup) Fried Noodles Dishes Sushi Rice dishes (these are not fried rice dishes-they're entrees with a side of white rice). Pokè bowls (not on the menu-they're on a hand written menu on the table) Boba teas Desserts The sushi is fresh and comes relatively quickly. The lunch special is a great value, and they offer it on Saturdays, too, which is awesome. We tried Chicken and Vegetables Noodles-the noodles are delicious, al dente, fresh and HOT (temperature). They seem to be consistently great about bringing them out straight off the stove, steaming hot. We also tried one of the rice dishes, which tasted really fresh. This place was featured in my Facebook foodie group and less than a mile from my home. Didn't eat all day, so I had an appetite picked up my son, and we ran over to the restaurant, didn't know what to expect, but saw the talk on Facebook and wanted to see what was going on. Was weird to me was that no one was in the restaurant eating. We sat down and looked at the menu. We chose the short ribs, fried rice dumplings, which were called out on Facebook and the pork buns. We were gonna order too short ribs, but the waitress kindly suggested that one serving would be enough for the both of us and it was. The food was delivered pretty quickly, and the waitress gave us a really cool tip. She said mix the hot pepper oil with the vinegar and soy sauce when you dip your dumplings, it was amazing. Every dish was served hot, seasoned, and a good amount of food. My son who is trying to step out of his kindergarten pallet stated that "we will come back and become on the regulars," the food was great. I just wish more people knew about it. read more

I really enjoyed this place the first time I came by and I'm excited to go back soon. The Tako Su (marinated octopus) was absolutely delicious. If left me wanting more and wishing I didn't share it it. I had the dumpling soup with egg noodles. The soup is plain, but that's expected. The dumplings were good and there was a very generous portion of noodles. Also tried the oxtail soup (spicy) with house made noodles. Speaking as a native Chinese person, this place offers authentic home-cooked style Northern Chinese food. Now you don't have to travel to China to find interesting dishes. We decided to give this place a try because of the great reviews and we were all craving Asian food. When we walked in we were not really impressed with the place, it is pretty boring but that is fine. It was just lunch with 3 of us and not like it was a romantic night out. We were promptly seated and while our waitress was friendly she did not speak very good English. Between the 3 of us we order a variety of dishes, my wife of Udon, I got their fried noodle dish, and my daughter got a ramen seafood soup. After we ordered our food we were a bit skeptical about this place because we seemed to wait forever for our food! If we were on a lunch break at work there is no way we would have made it back to work in time. But then finally the food showed up and all I can say is that it was work the wait! We all loved our dishes and were sharing with each other, I think we all decided my fried noodle dish was the best but I really loved my wife's udon too. Found this gem searching for sushi spots. As with a lot of sushi spots, it's very unassuming to look at. It's located in a little strip mall and the ambiance is lacking. But they make up for it with their sushi quality. On Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays (I believe) they have specials on their rolls. So anyone who feels the pain of wanting sushi but not being able to justify the wads of cash can come in and take advantage on those days! Our server was attentive and they came around frequently until we were ready to order and were always making sure our water glasses were refilled throughout our dinner. We split a bunch of different rolls between the table and they were a great size and thought the flavors were good as well. I have to point out that the crab rangoons were delightful, not overly breaded, and the potstickers (gyoza) were really good as well. I will definitely be back here again! read more

Unless you're purchasing a specialty roll, the prices are VERY reasonable for the majority of items. The noodle portions are quite large but made for great leftovers (even reheated it tasted great). The menu and seating are relatively limited and the atmosphere is pretty basic, but the service was friendly and attentive, and the food was fresh and full of flavor. Having no expectations, I quite enjoyed myself, just wasn't wow'd by the food presentation, menu variety, or interior atmosphere... otherwise I'd give it 5-stars!
