They need to wear hair wigs. Also the chop sticks are cheap - mine broke when I was using them. Well, I was very excited to eat my sushi because I love Mexican style sushi and this is like a spot I've never tried and also I know it is not required to be cleaning shrimp I take it that as a Mexican you should know that we clean our shrimp from poop because they are bottom feeders so anyways, I just wanted to leave this out there for everybody that is consuming these sushi rolls and is consuming these shrimps eating this poop is toxic and they are already contagious in lead or any other metals that they get from the bottom so yeah just leaving that out there. Disappointing Experience - Greasy Sushi I was really looking forward to trying this sushi place, but unfortunately, it didn't live up to my expectations. The sushi I ordered was extremely greasy, to the point where it was almost inedible. *Poor Quality Ingredients* The fish didn't taste fresh, and the rice was overcooked and oily. It seemed like the chef was heavy-handed with the sauce and oil, resulting in a dish that was more like a greasy mess than a delicate piece of sushi. *Unappetizing Presentation* The presentation of the dish was also unappealing. The sushi was sloppily arranged on the plate, and the grease had started to congeal, making it look more like a science experiment than a culinary masterpiece. *Won't Be Returning* Needless to say, I won't be returning to this sushi place anytime soon. For a restaurant that claims to serve high-quality sushi, the greasiness and poor presentation of the dish were a major letdown. This place was a pleasant surprise. So unique and full of flavor. The interior is so unique and warm feeling. Their staff never stops moving. Their menu selection is absolutely beautiful with plenty of options. Not sure if it's always like this, but they did not speak English which made it a bit difficult to order but I managed to place my order just fine. It's actually a Spanish sushi restaurant which makes this fusion food. My sushi was so unique and tasty. So filling I had to share it to eat it and I still had leftovers. I'm very happy I decided to stop by. I wish they had one of these in my area. Visiting from San Diego and a local told us about this hidden gem. The food was delicious! The first time I've tried sushi with a Mexican twist! The culichi roll was so fire! And the roll with carne asada and Serrano peppers was bomb! (Tatemadito roll) I would eat again next time I'm in town for sure! My wife and I decided to try this place after reading about it in the New Times. We have tried several Mexican/Sushi spots in the valley and this place by far might be the worst. We ordered 2 waters with lemon and were served luke warm tap water with a cup of limes. We ordered 3 baked rolls which were served in a timely fashion but were barely warm on the outside and cold on the inside. The rolls fell apart while trying to pick them up. This leads me to believe they are pre- made/ frozen and warmed up to be served. Not good. To top this all off, after inspecting the ingredients in each roll we observed that the shrimp were not cleaned and de-veined. I completely lost my appetite at this point and left the remainder of these rolls. No to go box was needed. The waitress must have seen my facial expression in regards to the food and took the price of 1 roll off my bill, without me asking. The waitress was pleasant. Beware! I gave the 1 star because we were charged a tip on our bill and we weren't aware until we left. They don't take a bill to your table, you have to go to the register by the door and pay with your waiteress/waiter, which she/he just gives you a total and then you pay, so we left our tip and took off. When we got to our vehicle we noticed the extra charge. NOT COOL! I've never known a restaurant to add an automatic tip for a party of 4 and have you pay with out them giving you the bill. They never did it the extra charge before. We pretty much tipped twice. The receipt is really confusing to read. Not to mention the receipt is in spanish. We did the calculations and they overcharged us a penny. Might not be much but it adds up and that's bad business. As far as the rest of the visit goes. The place has been remodeled since last time I was in. I liked it. There was about a 15 min wait on a Friday evening not too bad. The food was good, service mediocre, prices are a little more than what they use to be. Probably due to the remodel. We ordered the 2 liter pitcher of Limeade, it was fresh. I would like to give more stars to this place, but the last three times I've been there, something is always off. Between the bad service, and the missing ingredients in the food, the visits haven't been great. One time the Americano Roll didn't have avocado, which is in the menu, I didn't mention anything, the flavors over all are tasty, the second time happened the same thing, looks like the are trying to "save". They brought the avocado on the side, there were 5 paper-thin pieces. So, check your food before you try it. I keep coming back here because the food is good, but something has changed. read more
