I wanted greasy chinese food tonight. This place hit the spot. The location is perfect and by perfect I mean downright terrible. It's next to Planet K which overpowers the exterior with awesome stonery neon lights and sweet Ron Paul 2012 banners everywhere. I walked in and there was literally one of the kids working there taking a nap in one of the booths wearing his shorts in almost perfect slacker fashion so you can see his underwear. There's also a sign in the corner the says "no smoking room" Clearly an artifact leftover from 2005 that nobody ever thought to throw away, after all what if we decide to bring back smoking in restaurants? The funny thing is that the place is one huge ass open room so which part of the room was for "no smoking" and which part allowed smoking? Anyway, the whole experience was exactly what I wanted. The wonton soup was kind of nasty though, the noodles were a weird texture and a yellow colour. My friend had mongolian beef and it was spectacular. All part of the experience. read more

I ordered delivery from them on Sunday evening and the food and service were VERY disappointing. We ordered Garlic Chicken with fried rice and Lemon Chicken with fried rice and crab puffs. They forgot the lemon sauce and I called to ask for it and it took them 2 hours to bring it to us! (Lemon Chicken is not Lemon Chicken without the sauce!) Why even bother after 2 hours? All the delivery guy said was "not my fault". The fried rice was terrible and the Garlic Chicken was just ok. I do NOT recommend ordering from Super China. Huge disappointment. read more

While I've never been to this restaurant I used to order delivery from them all the time. Pretty much your generic very americanized Chinese food. The prices are decent, the quality of the food is good for what it is, the portions are large, and the delivery service is super quick. I read the reviews, good, bad and thought with the average 3.5 rating, it could not be so bad...big mistake! I ordered: BBQ ribs - They were very very oily. So oily, they dripped as I picked each one up. Needless to say, these were actually fried ribs not BBQd. Taste, 4/10. Butterfly Prawns - I was grossed out by all that batter. I peeled it all off and ate only the shrimp inside. Taste, 5/10 (w/o Batter). Sea Treasure Pot - This dish was awful, bloody awful!!! The celery certainly wasn't fresh and there was 'too much' off it! The seafood, especially the crab sticks, tasted like I imagine a defrosting deep freezer would. It was exceptionally bad. Taste, 1/10 I also ordered, pan fried noddles and combination fried rice but given my experience so far, I'm not very keen to try them. Despite the reviews, I decided to give this place a chance. I haven't had very good experiences with Chinese delivery in North Austin. Last time I ordered from another place, it took over 2 hours to arrive. So, I've kind of been on my last straw with ordering chinese here, but I wanted to give it one more chance. I placed my order and delivery time was estimated for 50 minutes, which is pretty normal for delivery. However, I was pleasantly surprised when 16 minutes later - yes, SIXTEEN MINUTES LATER - there was a knock on my door and my food had arrived! It was piping hot and the portions were huge. I ordered the Broccoli Beef & Sweet and Sour Chicken special with fried rice, and a side of crab puffs. Everything was cooked perfectly. The sauce on the broccoli beef was delicious. The broccoli was cooked to perfection, as well as the beef. And, I was happy to see they packed the chicken in a separate container so the two didn't mix. All in all, this place is the best delivery I've found in the North Austin area. I'm now very full and very happy, and I even have enough left over for lunch, and probably dinner, tomorrow! The owners were extremely accommodating with the containers that I wanted the food placed in, plastic & cardboard ones vs the Styrofoam stuff.. That alone deserves the 3rd star, 2 stars for food overall unfortunately. Super cheap, fast Americanized Chinese. The hot and sour soup was very good though - wonton and egg drop were a little on the salty side. The spare ribs appetizers were huge, but they needed some type of sauce since they were overly dry. The chicken and broccoli had some good spice to it and the fried wantons could have used some more cheese filling. The location is a little seedy, stuck in between some video shops and another spot labeled for a massage... which had some not so friendly looking guys coming and going... who knows... anyways, I give them some credit for some food that is priced really well, I think lower than anywhere else. read more

My family gets Chinese food at least once a week and we had switched over from our normal restaurant to Super China because their food is so good! At least the sesame chicken & egg rolls are. Unfortunately, they have horrible service! The woman answering the phone is the least personable and most argumentative person in the food industry. Normally, Chinese food is fast. They are literally 5 mins from my house and took an HR..after being told it would be 30 mins! It's just one order of sesame chicken!! Then, when they got our order wrong... I want to preface this by saying I've eaten a lot of food from this company and it's generally pretty good stuff so I'm not going to give a 1 star. With that said this company has issues delivering orders on time and doesn't know how to handle the situation when they do. The most recent circumstance was today. I made an order today at 2:36 PM for General Tso's Chicken, Egg Drop Soup, and Fried Dumplings from Eat24. Since I was busy working I didn't notice the time. It was already 4:10 and my order still wasn't there after nearly 2 hours. I contacted Eat24 via Chat at this point and waited another 10 minutes before the tech reached the restaurant. He said the food was on it's way shortly. I was about to tell him I was no longer interested in paying for this food but was cut off from the agent. I then contacted Eat24 again to tell them that unless they were willing to refund my order and still furnish the food that I would no longer be interested in doing business with Super China. Around this time the driver walks in the door (at this point it's around 4:25 about 10 minutes short of two hours) and I explain the situation and my view point to him. He proceeds to say "sorry" and then walks out the door. There was no offer of a discount or refund and no explanations were made as to why my food was nearly 2 hours late. After this I told Eat24 to process my refund (which I received shortly after). While the food here is decent I can no longer do business with Super China due to this incident and their lack of customer service. read more

When I first moved to Austin in '03, Super China's menu was already hanging on my door as we lugged furniture in, and it was the first place I ordered from. Best decision I ever made. I generally can tell if I'm going to dig a Chinese restaurant by their hot and sour soup, and Super China has the best I've ever tasted. I order take-out from them at least once a month (sadly, I moved out of their delivery area). The portions are huge; two complete dinners plus crab puffs and free chicken wings comes to about $25.00 and me and the gf can live on that for a good 3-4 days. I've only eaten in the restaurant once, and while it wasn't a bad experience by any means, I can do just as well eating the food on my couch while watching TV. I basically classify Chinese food into two separate categories: - The kind that is served in nice restaurants, where you actually leave your house to go eat it - The greasy, take-out variety where you have it delivered, and there's so much food, you'd swear they needed a U-haul to carry it all Super China definitely falls into the latter category, and it's glorious :) And I love the little wontons they throw in the bag. Only issue I've had with them is that they can be a little stingy with the sweet and sour sauce, even when you ask for it. Food is superb. Service is good if you decide to dine-in but a little too small. Probably best to order your food for pick up or delivery. Parking can be crowded due to planet K and the hookah lounge in the same parking area. If you ever get fried rice I Highly recommend trying the Homeade hot chili oil. read more

Ordered from them for a while and they have decent Chinese delivery, but recently had a problem with the service. They forgot part of my order and instead of giving me a refund for that part said they'd put a credit on my account when I called to order next they said that I didn't handle the situation right and she wouldn't give me the credit. She said she couldn't just give anyone who called saying part of their order was forgotten free food, when I told her that I had paid for it last time and was never given that money back, which in most cases is called stealing, she put me on hold and never took me off. Last Sunday I ordered online. When I got the food delivery there was shrimp in garlic sauce all over the bag. It spilled everywhere, inside the egg roll bag and all over the rice. It was a huge mess cleaning the whole thing, which defeats the purpose of ordering delivery. When I called to complain, I talked to a nice lady who told me I could order next time and I would have a credit for the whole meal. When my wife called today they had no clue about credit and she was incredibly mean to her. Then I called to ask them about the credit and she also answered me rudely, saying the manager was not there. Finally, they called back and only gave a $3 dollar credit, and had a very bad attitude! My order was $17.00 dollars on Sunday and today she still charged me 14.00 today lol! PS: just for some egg rolls and Fried Rice. After contracting a mild case of Ebola from another local Chinese restaurant, I was in need of a new place and Super China delivered. Huge portions and cheap prices, this place was super legit. I've never had a worse experience with delivery. I placed an order for 3 entrees, soup and egg rolls at 6:45 on Thursday. They promised one hour delivery. 1 hour later: no delivery. 1.5 hours later. Delivery guy arrives with 2 entrees, no soup, no rice. He promises to go back and get the rest of my order. I call the restaurant to confirm. 2 hours later. No delivery. 2.5 hours later. I call to confirm and was told that the delivery guy had already left with my order and it would only be a few minutes at this point. 3 (THREE!) hours later: No delivery. I call and ask to speak to the manager and it turns out that they've forgot my order again. They forgot half of my order, not once, but TWICE! And both times they promised swift remedy which turned out to be false. I understand forgetting part of an order on a busy night. It happens. But this is unconscionable. I spoke with the manager and he apologized, but didn't offer anything beyond sending out my order again (it's now 10pm and I still haven't eaten). No refunds or anything. I had to hassle him to even get a refund for the food I *never* got. This was by far the worst customer service I've ever had. I will never order from them again. read more

Super China was my favorite go to for local Chinese food. However, Super China has gradually gotten worse over the last year or so. My recent experience was that the beef and broccoli had a fishy taste to it. Almost as if the beef was cooked in the same wok/pan as the fish. Customer service has gotten worse. I, we, cannot praise this place enough. The food, the ones who answer the phone, to our happy, pleasant delivery person. Just the best. We order there quite a lot. Last night was fantastic. The triple crown,chicken w. Veggies in brown sauce,Kung pao chicken, love the combination lo mein. We always get the complete dinner that comes with soup, a egg roll and pineapple, oops forgot the beef w. Garlic sauce. There is sooo much food, like my mom would say we could feed a army. I call in my order because I like talking to them. We order early around six or earlier...... I do believe that is probably their busy time, but they are always pleasant. I've ordered from here a few times and it's always been just "ok"....nothing great. Good size portions but greasy and low quality.
