This is the largest bass pro shop I have ever seen. The inventory of boats are impressive! The huge aquarium is beautiful with very large fish. There's even a waterfall in here and the huge windows overlooking Lake Hubbard is absolutely stunning. Prices here are great as well. Much better prices than the Northern ( New England ) areas stores! Def a must visit. read more

Pretty neat location for a Bass Pro shop...located right on Grapevine lake. We sat outside overlooking the water, had a few drinks, and ordered the alligator appetizer. It was fantastic, so tender and the batter was slightly spicy. Next we ordered the brisket Mac n' cheese (just don't). It was noodles with no cheese sauce on it and a very few CUBES of brisket. We also ordered the blackened red fish portofino. It was amazing! This was one of their bigger stores, from my understanding. Truly amazing inside and out, with fantastic water features bubbling throughout! Loved this store so much! read more

Wow this bass pro shop is...BIG. Just a dream come true for people who like to do outdoorsy activities such as fishing, camping, hunting, boating, guns etc. I like how it is organized into those categories and the decor inside is pretty amazing itself. Definitely not for those who are really against these hobbies. I really liked the 50¢ simulated shooting targets. The rifle is definitely not accurate and the sights are totally fake but still fun to play. They have some big aquariums when you go downstairs filled with different types of fish. They even have a Fish restaurant inside the store! Didn't get to try it but it looks legit from the outside. This was one of the first places we went to when we arrived in Dallas lol. read more

Aside from the AMAZING themed decorations, I definitely LOVE that they have a large, beautiful restaurant inside the store where you can enjoy great food while looking out the window at the lake. The tropical seaside-theme with a nod to Ernest Hemingway was a very nice touch. Food was wonderful (especially the pulled pork) and so was the service. Sometimes I just come here to eat and then go for a stroll through the aisles, taking note of all the awesome "toys" I want on my Christmas list. read more

Pretty much the worst customer service I've ever experienced in person. Their gun and knife counter has a ticket system and our number was up for over 10 min while the 4 men behind the counter just kept walking around ignoring us. The when they finally did attend us the answer was, "oh we are out of what you are looking g for." Well, could you possibly see if it's at another bass pro in the area? We asked. The guy responded with "well we'd have to call them but first I have to take this call and then answers his phone while standing in front of us and helps someone else... terrible customer service. read more

I got there for my pictures with Santa with my family. The lady attending us was so rude and rushed us over to Santa. She took a picture and didn't even say "1,2,3" or "ready" and then yells at my son your not looking, so My son says you didn't tell us to be ready. Then another son tried to ask where he was suppose to look for the picture and she rudely ignored him. Therefore the picture I received my daughter wasn't looking at the camera. The lady helping her was just as rude as the photographer lady. I tried to ask her a question and she ignored me and just gave me my picture and said go up stairs and pay and come back. Now if you got a day and I mean a full day I would suggest you cram the kids in the hooptie and visit this wonderful display of needless lmark-up items. You can buy a boat, a gun, fishing rod, clothes have lunch and see the most amazing things. I have visited several times its always a highlight on my trips to TX. I would give this place 5 stars if I ever needed anything but I'm not the fishin' outdoorsy type. The store is very clean and has everything you need if you want to go camping, fishing or hunting. The man who stands at the entrance greeting customers is such a sweetheart! He knows where everything is and is very helpful! I took my son to take pictures with Santa(it's free!!) and we were too early but he let me go into the display and take my own pictures. I think the customer service there is great and I know where I will go when we plan our first family camping trip. read more

This place is a lot of fun! My guy and I often find ourselves wandering here when it's too hot outside to really do anything. We usually end up shooting random things in their shooting range. It's often free too! Even better. The store has lots to look at and the customer service is great. We took our fishing pole in because we are newbies and couldn't figure out what to do and what all we needed to start fishing. The guy there helped us out greatly! He spent a good 30 mins talking to us and giving us a quick "How to" on fishing. read more

What can I say? I heart this store so much with their myriad of sporting goods and overstuffed clothing departments. We often come here for fishing gear and just to walk around. It seems like we discover a new animal or something new we hadn't seen on a previous visit. Bathrooms have always been clean here. Customer service can use a tad bit of help on occasion, only because a few times I wasn't asked if I needed help. But, I come here a lot! We buy waxworms from here on many occasions and they seem to be of good quality. Make sure you shake the container and check though because sometimes they get pushed into the very back and they can have some dead ones in it. Prices are ok, clearance is a disappointment. Another disappointment? The military discount. Dropped from 10% to 5%. Guess our military members lives aren't as important these days. I hope the CEO is enjoying his swanky beach house and multimillion dollar mansion. Fishing department-Jim and Linda get an A plus. There was another gentleman who helped me on my last visit but I didn't catch his name. Shoe department-Always consistently good. Very helpful employees in this department. Little concession cart near shoe department-Don't give my kid an attitude. He was just trying to buy some fudge. You're lucky I didn't mama bear all over you. Restaurant-You have a really cool place here. Your food and service is majorly lacking. We only had the all you can eat shrimp. Don't fall for it, it is a trap that involves freezer burned shrimp and more breading than shrimp. Such a shame, this place is really neat with a view of Lake Ray Hubbard. The fish tank and the little turtle tank is always clean and the animals and fish look healthy. There is a huge alligator gar in the tank. Check him out! Stay away for the games, most of them are busted. It's the same story at all of their locations. Are you listening Bass Pro? On our last visit, my son left his phone in the fishing department on one of the shelves. I was so pleased to know there are honest people who turned it in! Standard Bass Pro shop...lots of everything but what I need. Can't blame the store for not having .30 Carbine as it is a "unique" and uncommon round that they don't keep much of in stock in a normal occasion. If you are looking for virtually any other ammo the have it in stock which was a surprise as I've not seen a lot of .223 and 5.56 on the shelves lately. Keep an eye out for the sales flyers if you are a local and you will find some pretty good deals. The one thing I did ask about (511 Tactical pants) they also didn't have in stock or any in the back...so I was 0-2 on my search but then again I was looking fr some very specific things. This store is a little tough to get to because of it location right off I30, so make sure that you take the right exit or stay on the service road for the store. read more

This is a very cool store with a great layout. It's laid out to be like nature with VERY large fish tanks, ponds with fish, bears (fake), boats and it even has a restaurant. This location is BIG and has a large selection of boats, clothing, tents, firearms, outdoor items, food, and camping equipment. I think kids, hunters and outdoor large enthusiasts would really like this store. They have pretty good customer service, a large selection of items, and it's just a fun store to be in..... The restaurant (within) the store is ok....and has a great outdoor seating over the Lake in the summer time. 4/5 Worth a visit! read more

This place is GREAT!! My husband and I take our kids here several times a year. We can spend the whole day looking at stuff in this place. And they have cool activities too. However, take my advice on this, DO NOT EAT AT ISLAMORADA!!! If you wanna eat on Lake Ray Hubbard and near Bass Pro, go next-door to Texas Land and Cattle Co. This is THE place if you need a fish-finder (or anything else for the outdoors)! I recently purchased a Lowrance, Elite 9 ti and had difficulty getting it to connect to my iPhone. I met with Doug Yates, Bass Pro's resident guru on all you will ever need to know about fish-finders. He is so good, he trains emergency responders on their use, plus individuals like me, on how to get the most out of the equipment. Doug is also a retired Marine ex-Crew Chief on a Huey helicopter in Viet Nam. Getting shot down 7 times helped prepare Doug for dealing with the public. I ended up having to replace the unit for another but the model had been discontinued. Kathy Thompson, Bass Pro's General Manager, came to the rescue and stepped in to facilitate a trade... without any hassles. It is really refreshing to get the level of customer service offered by Doug AND have the support of upper management when a product has issues. I can't compliment these guys enough. You can count on Bass Pro (and especially the fine folks in their Garland location) to put the customer first and stand behind their products, regardless of the price! In addition, Bass Pro has always been a big supporter of Heroes on the Water where we are getting veterans and first responders out on the water kayak fishing (I'm hoping Doug will join us on some of those fishing outings in the DFW area soon). Thanks again, I will not shop anywhere else for outdoor equipment and guidance. TWO THUMBS UP!!! read more

Really fun place to take the family. We love the shooting game that they have set up. Watching the fish demonstrations and admiring the fish and turtles in the aquarium is great. I'm not all that into hunting or fishing, so I wouldn't come here to shop, but it seems really popular for people who are into those activities. Unfortunately Bass Pro Shops of Garland has leased one of their stores in the shopping center to a Pets-R-Us. These type of pet stores sell puppies that are from puppy mills. These dogs come from poor conditions and are sold for upwards of $6,000 and LEASED. Someone who has to LEASE a living, breathing animal will most likely not be able to afford the extensive vet bills. Please do not support Bass Pro or Pets-R-Us. I can connect anyone interested in puppies with a rescue or local shelter. read more

The gun department was the biggest waste of time. Went in to buy two guns and 1:45 min later we had to leave. They had two guys waiting on one person and never told anyone they would be with them after. I wasn't the only person that walked away frustrated. They have a number waiting system that they do not use. They probably could of sold 6 more guns today within the 1:45 that we waited. read more

If I could give zero I would! Don't ever buy a boat from this place! Apparently you don't get a battery with it! The employees don't care about customer service because they don't get Commission. My elderly father just bought a boat and not only did they sell him a boat without the batteries..but they also didn't show him how everything worked! When he called today to ask them why they didn't put a battery in it, they blew him off and said they'd call him back. They never did! They were trying to hurry him out the door during the buying process. Took them 3 weeks to get the boat "ready" even though it was on the floor. They took over an hour to "wash" it but it had soap suds all over it. Would a car dealership sell you a car without a battery?! No! Then why did they not put a battery in a boat!? My wife loves to spend all day in the Mall...and I love to spend all day in Bass-Pro Shops. Everything you need for outdoor activities from fishing and camping to boating and hunting. The store is HUGE and the selection is vast. They are a little pricier on some items than Sports Authority or Academy, but the selection is second to none. Check out the scheduled events and demonstrations for some practical outdoor tips or take the kids (or yourself) for a little target practice in their rifle range (don't worry....they don't use bullets). Check out Larry Ladnier in the fishing department for expert advice and tips for your next trip. Also ask about their fishing guide references. Overall...I LOVE THIS PLACE!!! read more

Well we, my husband and I, fell for the FREE 3 night stay at Bass Pro Wilderness Lodge and a FREE cruise for two. First let me say you don't stay at the Lodge. We paid 500.00 to stay at the Lodge. It was beautiful but definitely not free. They put you up in a motel. As for the FREE cruise they really misrepresented that completely. Your Free cruise is worth a whopping 50.00 a piece AFTER you pay the 200.00 per person taxes and fees. All I can say is it's not worth the gas or plane fare to go on the FREE trips. read more

Great place to go and spend an hour or two with the kids. My son and husband especially liked the shooting range where they got to shoot various targets. They spent quite a bit of time there while I wandered through the store and even found the cutest red sundress. I wouldn't expect to find clothes that I like in there since its mostly fishing and hunting type gear but there were a few really cute items that surprised me. My son liked the fish aquarium and the giant stuffed bear downstairs and he thought we were on a field trip outing instead of in a store. I'm all about free entertainment so stopping in the store was a good idea. (it was our first time) Also the view of the lake close to sunset was beautiful! If you have spare time with little to do I would definitely recommend stopping in the shop. Whether you buy anything or not its a nice place to stop in for a while and if you get hungry theres a restaurant inside as well though I haven't checked that out yet! read more

I live around the corner from this shop and visit it frequently. Recently I was told by a friend that they had a sale going for 5.11 tactical, which is my favorite brand. I didn;t even know they carried 5.11 as I have looked (poorly apparently) but when I headed to the store, sure enough, there was a tiny little section that had two kinds of 5.11 pants, some shorts, shirts, hats, belts, gloves, and bags. The sale said 20% off on select apparel, gear, and accessories. They had two signs posted and on the back of each sign there was another sign promoting the Tac Lite Pro pants and the Stryke Pants (My favorite!). My wife and I had spent an hour coming through their options and sizes, tried them on in the fitting room and grabbed four pairs of Stryke pants. These pants don't go for any less than $75 a pair! So we were overjoyed to see the 20% discount, which is why we grabbed four. When we got to the check out the lady showed no 20% discount. She had to radio in someone to go check on the promotion and the first answer was that these particular pants were not on sale. I was pretty upset because the sign wasn't specific in any way and there was no indication of what was being discounted on the tags of ANY of the items. Seen as though all of the gear was on two tiny racks, we assumed they were all on sale. Not taking no for an answer, I walked back to the rack myself with the sales associate and wanted her to show me what the sale was for. She proceeded to flip over a sign and tried to explain that only the Tac Light Pro Pants ($50) were on sale. To which my wife turned over there other sign and said showed her that the other sign says Stryke Pants. The end result was that the manager came over to the rack and I had explained to him how frustrated I was because the sign was extremely vague, we spent a lot of time picking out a style, a size, trying them on, doing the math for checkout, and had psyched our minds up into buying four pair just to be denied in the very end. All of the staff was very friendly during this entire time and were doing their best to get to the bottom of the sale, the manager made the final decision to give us the 20% off and wrote it up as "Misleading Sign." We were happy and saved $60 in total. This was the only instance where we had any real issues with the store but all of the staff was courteous throughout the process and did right by us in the end. I give the store four stars because I often frequent the firearms section and some of the employees can be a bit short with you at times. That and the training classes they claim to offer isn't backed by much additionally information and no one in the store seemed to know what they were talking about. We started by asking customer service about a training course they had advertised on a chalkboard, they had no clue and sent us over to firearms, firearms had no clue and wanted to send us over to customer service. I dislike poor communication and planning for courses, even if they are free. I attended a free paint shop at Home Depot once to find that they assigned an employee who had never painted in his life and told us, "I literally was show this last night" but yet he was giving us a class. It was a complete waste of time and I will never do anything like that again. All in all, great selection, very competitive prices, and they give 10% military discounts! read more

Wasn't even closing time yet and we were asked to leave twice... It was close but still we were literally herded to the front door while birthday shopping for my son. WEAK SAUCE! We had a few items in hand and still had 5 min till closing and literally were told to start heading to the door so we put the items down and left I bought what I needed on amazon instead. I've bought a few firearms from here and se clothes etc never had a problem but because of this I don't know that I'll be going back anytime soon. A gentleman cake to help but wasn't very social and made the experience a little on the uncomfortable side. Ended up selling us the display model which was fine. I came in to have my kitchen knives sharpened. I was initially not thrilled about this decision because the gentleman helping me seemed disgusted with the condition of the knives. I did leave with sharper knives but I feel they could have used a little more attention but they are defiantly headed towards a full recovery going here.
