The sale person proceeded to follow me around the store, staying within two feet of me at all times. She effectively ran me and my wife out of the store. If you know me, you know that my glasses are basically a part of my body, so when my favorite/main pair broke and I lost the screw I was worried I would have to replace the frames completely. Modern decor with an cozy ambience accompanied by a warm greeting from Lisha the Optician working that day. I showed her my frames and she was optimistic that she could repair both of them. While she worked on my glasses I perused the multiple options of glasses they had on the walls. It was an array of quirky, geometric frames to more traditional ones, with an additional wall of luxury frames. So many cute options, that I'm certain anyone can find a pair they'd love. In less than 20 minutes Lisha presented me with my fixed glasses. I was so grateful she even cleaned and tightened them as well. And all of it free of charge! Service was friendly, speedy and great and when I'm in the market for new frames next year, I'm definitely coming back to Black Optical. read more

This place seems mostly about making the sale first and foremost, even if it means costing you additional trips later. Lisha did not disclose that my lenses might have a thick frosted edge and that the transition lens wouldn't darken enough to hide my eyes. I had to make two additional trips to fix these issues. Other places polished them at no charge without even asking. On the two follow up visits, the associate didn't even offer an apology in regards to the situation. She was trying to make a sale to someone else during one of the appointments. Came here for a Yelp Elite event but in the market for new glasses. The prices are steep but the staff was incredible. I thought Yen was great and meeting the owner was a nice treat. The have some very simple and elegant designs which are practical and whimsical so they don't look standard and like everyone wearing the same style. There isn't really a gender specification so you can get whichever style feels right for you! I saw some geogeous designs from Germany and Japan and really liked the light weight functionality. Some wicked cool sunglasses as well. The best part is that you can use your FSA dollars! Don't let it go to waste, treat yourself. They will do a fitting and adjust the lenses for you. It doesn't take that long to get them and they can even deliver the ready pair to you if you don't have time to stop in. The customer service in store was great and made me feel comfortable. I told them what I was looking for and what they thought would fit my frame and they would give me 2-3 choices from all over the store which is great because it shows they know their inventory. I am obsessed w/facts & Yen brought her "A" game as she told me about her recent seminar experience where she expanded her expertise in a field she's been in for years (IMPRESSIVE). They offer transitions (where the script can go from regular to sun protection in a couple min, blue light anti-glare, etc.). I was blown away by this cute boutique style shop. The owner actually strolled in while I was there & offered his advice for my eyes. It's RARE to find a place like this where people actually CARE about what they're doing & expand their education by going to seminars.
