Disappointing Experience with Pushy Sales Tactics I want to start by saying the exam process was simple, and I had no issues with the doctor. However, my issue lies with the experience of getting my glasses prescription filled. From the beginning, I made it very clear that I wanted a basic, affordable second pair of glasses. I mentioned this multiple times--at least three times--but I felt pushed toward more expensive options that I didn't want. When I finally chose a frame covered by my insurance, I was told that my lenses required special processing because of my prescription. The price I was quoted for the lenses was over $500. When I said I couldn't afford that and didn't intend to spend more than $300, the price suddenly dropped to $308 within seconds. Why wasn't this lower option presented to me in the first place? The sudden shift in pricing felt shady and left me questioning the transparency of the process. It felt like I was being pressured into spending more than necessary, and the whole experience came across as unprofessional. I hope this feedback encourages a more honest and straightforward approach in the future. Customers should feel respected and confident in their choices--not pushed into something they don't want or can't afford. read more

I've waited for two months to get my new glasses. They didn't understand my insurance and sent the wrong frames. They then lost the frames I wanted. Did they offer any discount or anything, NO. I don't even think the new lenses are correct. I would NOT recommend. read more

Not only is Dr. Meyer incredible but so is everyone in the clinic. Everyone I've talked to is incredibly kind and helpful. I've been wearing glasses all of my life and have never been so satisfied with a vision center before. I ordered contacts in May and moved away before I could pick them up. Dr. Meyer is a fantastic doctor. Great bedside manner. Just be prepared to be nickel and dimed. Every time I go in, there's a fee for something that I wasn't told about. Every. Single. Time. And the fee is non-negotiable, no matter what it is. For those of us that budget tightly, it makes it a struggle, and they always say they'll train their staff better. They never do. Honestly, if it wasn't for Dr Meyer, I would've found a new eye doctor just from the fees and non-personable staff. Still considering it after the new undisclosed fee today. Charged us a fee to teach my son how to put his contacts in. But the "class" is "required by law." I've never even heard charging a fee for that, and I've worn contacts for over 25 years. read more

I desperately needed an update to my eyeglasses prescription because my glasses are over 2 1/2 years old and my prescription sunglasses are almost 5 years old (yikes!). My eyes hadn't changed that much, but just enough that I was starting to get headaches from reading so much at work (and probably reading so much on Yelp!). When it came time to choose I was looking for someone who took my VSP insurance, and was close to home so I could just head home after my appointment. That's how I found Dr. Clint Meyer and I couldn't have been more surprised! Although his office is located in a small strip mall below some apartments, the inside is very nice and he's a great guy. He was very relaxed and funny throughout the whole eye exam, and he didn't pressure me into contacts (which have never worked with my eyes, but for some reason every OTHER optometrist is convinced that they will be able to overcome my clearly deformed eyeballs). This did not happen here though and I was so relieved to just be able to discuss what I needed, and make sure my eyes were all good. A huge plus to anyone who hates that stupid 'blast of air in the eye' thing for glaucoma testing, is that he uses some new technology so you don't have to do that anymore. The drops they have to use burn a little at first (almost like allergy eye drops) but it quickly goes away and then he just has to shine a light really close to your eye, but still, WAY better than the annoying blast of air into your eye, where you invariably blink and they have to do it again. This was much easier. I also loved their selection of glasses and the woman who helped me was super nice (I didn't write her name down). Overall, probably one of my favorite optometrist experiences ever and because they are also close to one of my work's offices, even after I move I'll probably still make the trek down here just for the service! read more

Trying to find a new eye doctor is always really stressful for me, as I have extremely poor vision and am at risk for various eye diseases. I am SO happy I came across Dr. Meyer. The office staff is really nice and their equipment is state of the art. He was able to find a minor issue to monitor that wouldn't have been found with the standard optometry equipment I've experienced in other offices. He also took as much time as needed to answer my questions and explain anything that was beneficial for me to know about eye health, symptoms to look out for, and general knowledge about vision/eye development over time. read more

I have been going to Dr Meyer for more than 10 years. The formula for my eye prescription was wrong ( like it happened in the past) and he will not see me again to fix it. They no longer sell Christian Dior frames, but have other upper end frames. This is my family eye doctor for years. Earlier in the beginning of 2019, I kept getting text reminders that my son yearly check up is due. So after all the routine exam they said that his glasses would be ready in a week. The office called my mother in law and said that that we owe another $60 (we have VSP) that's after paying almost $250, with VSP. So, a week later I received a call from Dallas Eye Works saying that my sons glasses are ready. I showed up after work then the another unpleasant news. My sons yearly check up wasn't until Oct. 2019! So that's another $170 dollars that I had to use from from dwindling flexible health spending card. Why would they keep texting that my son is due in June 2019 when it's not until 10/2019? I'm a single mom who was lied and cheated to just to make $$. I waited a long time to post this review because I truly believed that I was taken advantage of. For a single mom of 2 teen boys......I'm truly disappointed. Dr. Meyer and his staff were amazing. I've been going to optometrists since I was 7 and I can honestly say that my visit to Dallas Eyeworks was the best so far. Dr. Meyer was very knowledgeable, explained every procedure, and shared his results with me. He uses technology to his advantage, instead of the letting the technology drive his exam. He wasn't quick to jump to any conclusions, but rather, talked me through possibilities that would explain my symptoms. As others have said, he was very professional and friendly. More importantly he was very laid back. I was worried that he would make me feel guilty for not having my eyes examined for about 3 years now. There wasn't even a hint of this. Dr. Clint Meyer came highly recommended from a friend. His office is located near the Casa Linda Plaza which only takes minutes to get to from the downtown Dallas area. Yesterday was my first time at Dr. Meyer's office and he is very professional. He explains every step of the eye exam and equipment being used but is still very personable. I usually take homework with me to doctor visits so that I have something to do while I'm waiting in the front lobby area or in the examining room. But his office staff quickly took care of everything that as soon as they were done with paperwork, and the like, I only had a chance to unzip my backpack before Dr. Meyer was ready to start the eye exam! Everyone here was super friendly and awesome. They greeted me quickly and everyone I talked to was really nice. The office is really clean. I had an eye exam and bought glasses and dont have a single complaint. Dr. Meyer is awesome. He was so nice and helpful and answered all my questions. They ordered me some frames that weren't available in the office, and because I was unsure of the color they let me wait to pay until I was sure I loved them - which made me really happy. No. No. No. I made the mistake of utilizing this practice for an exam and to see if I could possibly transition to contacts. They filed a claim to my insurance without my knowledge for $170 worth of contacts that I have never received because they are adamant about pushing a purchase of contacts through them. When I went to purchase contacts my insurance company won't allow me the benefits because of a falsified claim from this practice. Now I wait through the weekend and holiday until someone gets back to me. Pushy and will not be back. I have no product of contacts that I have ever received for a supply of contacts. read more

I love this office! My family and I have been patients here for about 6 years. Dr. Meyer couldn't be nicer, he explains everything extremely well and is a pretty funny guy. The entire staff from front desk to back office are top notch. Everyone is so helpful. They understand and explain all of your insurance benefits to you and work very hard to get you the maximum insurance savings, discounts and rebates. They have all of the high-tech fancy contact lenses, high end frames and top quality lenses. My 16 yr old daughter has been a patient here since she was 10 and she has never been anxious or scared to get an eye exam. That's HUGE! I absolutely recommend this office. read more

I was referred by a work colleague to Dr. Meyer. My former doctor moved out of state and my husband and I both needed our annual exam. This is a husband/wife run business and has a great family atmosphere. The staff is very nice and the office is laid back, but professional. I love they bring their beautiful Husky to work! She is like the office mascot. Anyway, both my husband and I liked Dr. Meyer and his assistants very much. He explains everything very well and does not try and oversell you anything. He told my husband that for now, he should just stick with his "cheaters" . For me, he did my contact lens fitting and adjusted my prescription a bit. For the person that gave him a bad review earlier about the contact lens fitting.....every place I have ever gone to charges for this. The nice thing about Dr. Meyers office is that when they order your contacts through them, they discount it back. It's also worth the $39 or so to take the Fundus Photo procedure of your eye. It can show any health problems like diabetes, sun damage etc.. Dallas Eyeworks will now be our permanent go-to here in Dallas. read more

They asked me to review them on Yelp, and so I shall. Dr. Meyer is friendly and knowledgeable, but that's really the only pleasant part of the experience. I was there for an hour and a half just to receive a simple annual exam. I believe they took one walk-in patient ahead of me (though they never asked me if that would be alright, or even informed me they'd be doing this), but even with one additional appointment there's no excuse for having me there for an hour and a half for an exam that takes less than 10 minutes. Also, when I scheduled my appointment they asked me if I needed an exam for glasses or contacts. I told them that I wear both, but I only needed to update my glasses prescription. I've never had an optometrist ask me this in the 15 or so years I've needed corrective lenses, but come to find out (after my exam) that they inquired because they do a separate exam for contact lenses. I found this out after my extra-long appointment when they charged me an additional $60 for the contact lens exam I didn't want or need. Lucky for me eye doctors are a dime-a-dozen around here, so I didn't waste my breath on the office staff whose mistake cost me my $60 and resolved to not return (and make sure the new people moving into our area know to be wary about Eyeworks as well). read more

He has a sense of humor and every time we were there he made us laughed . To me that's important, as I've been to many doctors throughout my life and some of them are so uptight and cocky, I don't like the vibe of that feeling:). He conducts a thorough exam every time I see him and shows me why I need to take good care of my eyesight. I trust that Dr. Meyer truly cares about the health of my eyes. I've been using Dr Meyer for three years to get my eye exams and glasses/contacts. Like the others have said, he is thorough, professional and personable. He explains every step of the process, makes recommendations for you based on his evaluations, and does everything possible to find the right products to suit the patient and their lifestyle. I have extremely sensitive eyes and have never been able to tolerate wearing contacts for long periods of time. Dr Meyer took the time to explain the different types of contacts to me and gave me several different sample pairs to try before committing to one type. Surprisingly, I found a pair that I can not only wear all day, but even sleep in comfortably! He explained things to me about care and consideration for contacts that no one had ever bothered telling me before! He always remembers me and makes personal conversation (for instance, he remembered not only that I am a nurse, but what hospital I work in AND my specialty!) His office staff are just as friendly and helpful. They have a great selection of glasses, and will order you anything they are able to (I wanted a pair in a different color than what they had in stock- they got in within a week!) Their prices are fair and they will work with your insurance to get you the lowest possible price on the products. Very friendly staff! I have only gone to one other eye doctor in the probably ten years since I've been wearing glasses and I'm switching! The staff was super helpful and was willing to give me the information I needed to make the best decision for me. My fiancé came in with me and had a few questions about somethings that have been going on with my eyes and the doctor didn't hesitate to bring him into the conversation. I would give this office 10 stars if I could! After a horrible experience at Carter Eye Care Center, I was in desperate need of a good optometrist who actually cared if I could see. The receptionist, tech, doctor, EVERYONE in this office was so nice and helpful. They corrected the botched prescription I received just a few months before and even diagnosed an astigmatism that the other office didn't! I highly recommend Dr. Meyer and his team. If I would have written this review last week, I would have given 5 stars. Today I'm slightly dissappointed but fighting hard not to let one disappointment ruin a great thing. To explain... I've worn glasses and contacts for 19 years, and Dr. Meyer is the best eye doctor I have ever been to in my life. I agree with most everyone else that has written a review that he is very thorough and takes his time to explain what he sees going on and to show you why he thinks that. He even has cool technology that he uses to help explain what he sees. I'm a very curious patient and am very eager to do what it takes to keep my eye health up to par. Dr. Meyer helps me do that and that's why I feel like I've finally found my eye doctor. However, I disagree about the front staff as they are not that great. Most are friendly but some are not. At my followup appointment, I got seen by the office manager who asked me one question and then proceeded to sell me products as a solution. Small issue, I know, but she was unfriendly about it and I left feeling like I was shoveled out and had wasted my time even coming in. My eye appointment went better than expected. I went to see Dr. Meyer because of a concern when renewing my drivers license. The staff did an excellent job of getting me in the same day I called, and also handled the procedures of the eye appointment very professionally. After all of the basic test were done, Dr. Meyer came in and looked at the results. He showed me a few things about my vision, and told me that my vision was good and that I do not need to make any corrections at this time. This was a very pleasant appointment. I relocated to Dallas a couple of months ago, so I became tasked with finding a new optometrist. I started with Yelp of course, and found Dallas Eyeworks. They were close to my house (white rock), accepted my VSP/UHC insurance, and had great reviews. Everyone is very friendly and thorough. The whole staff was truly knowledgeable, and I trusted their suggestions. I also feel that they're quite affordable with standard insurance coverage. I really have no complaints or negative feedback. If you're looking for a new optometrist, I'd definitely recommend Clint and his team. read more
