And my appointment with Dr. Tran indeed made me happy. She listened to my concerns about my previous classes, not fitting well. She gave me some tips that I had never heard before about getting glasses that fit my wide head. And the ladies who helped me pick out a new pair of glasses were kind and patient. My glasses are a bit complex. Dr. Tran is incredibly patient in working to find the best prescription for me. In addition, she has made recommendations for two important surgical procedures that have resulted in significant visual improvements. I was looking for a new eye doctor and came across Bright Eyes on Yelp. I had my contact lens appointment and want to say that Dr. Tran was fabulous! Her stuff were also very friendly. Love the location and the prices are fair. The best part was that there's no air puff test. She uses a handheld device to measure pressure in the eye. I was so excited about that - everyone hates the air puff!! I also got a great rebate on my contact lens prescription order and she offers additional services for free when you buy contacts through them. Well! I stopped short from giving 5 stars only because I had the worst experience with their optometrist. Even after 4 visits to fix the correct lenses, I gave up and had to throw away a $600 pair of spectacles. They should fire their optometrist or these folks selling frames and lenses at the clinic. The doctor may be good, but I never got to find out. This practice does not value your time and be prepared to wait. I'm having a difficult pregnancy and it's hard for me to sit waiting for a long time for a doctor. The first time I waited 50 minutes for the appointment. I only made it 1/2 way through the appointment and had to leave due to becoming Ill. They offered no apology for the long wait. I tried to go back today to finish the appointment. I was on time and there were several people already waiting. There is one doctor. They seem to be booking multiple people for the same time slot. They said I would be waiting for 20 min. So I waited. After 20 min they called someone back to start a new appointment and I left. Again, no apology. read more

The entire office visit/experience was a 10/10 from initial eye exam to picking up my frames. Entire staff was friendly and extremely helpful (from booking the appointment to showcasing a number of frames that suited my face shape). The eye exam itself went smoothly and I was informed of everything that was being done as well as why it was being done. Dr. Tran went over my results thoroughly and explained when and why I'd need glasses. The glasses specialist spent more than a generous amount of time letting me try on multiple frames and being sure to set them aside for proper cleaning afterward. Very quick turnaround on getting me setup with a pair of glasses I liked with the proper lenses. Can't stress enough how much I appreciated everyone's help. read more

I'm jumping on the doctor-reviewing bandwagon here, and no one deserves a rave review more than Dr. Tran. She has been my optometrist since I moved to Dallas over 4 years ago, and I couldn't be more pleased with her services. So far, all of my appointments have turned out well. No one likes having their eyes examined, but I always feel at ease here. Dr. Tran is very thorough & makes sure to ask questions about habits as well as changes in vision. She also performs the exam as efficiently as possible. She helped me find the right contacts for my lifestyle and for my semi-sensitive eyes. I even had some contacts act up once, which resulted in extremely blured vision while driving. Dr. Tran rearranged her schedule some to get me in immediately & fixed the issue. I was given a new prescription & a major crisis was averted (you're welcome, Dallas drivers). Dr. Tran has a very professional manner, but is still extremely personable. Also, the staff is always friendly & helpful with schedules appointments, follow-ups, and alerting you when your orders are ready. They also conduct the intitial testing (e.g., glaucoma testing), and are quick & professional while doing so. Appearance wise, it's a pretty standard office, with a few chairs in the waiting area, some exam rooms, and a place in the back to try out new contacts & such. No frills, just function. And there is no extremely long wait here, unlike some other doctor's offices. They also play well with my insurance company, which helps a ton. Oh, and her office is located right next door to an Eyemasters so you can don't have to trek across town to find someone to fill your prescriptions. All of this contributes to a wonderful experience when I visit & ensures that I will continue using Dr. Tran for all of my eye needs. read more

She was hysterical (she's 15 so part of that's to be expected but I digress!) and I called the office because I really wasn't sure what to do - it was the end of the day but Dr. Tran waited for us to race there, she examined her, calmed her nerves THANK YOU and gave us a prescription...so kind and patient. After my first visit today, I can agree with all the five star reviews. Dr. Tran solved my prescription problem and is a great communicator and people person. A previous eye doctor I tried last summer could almost not be bothered with answering my questions during my exam last summer, he was so eager to get it over with. In contract, Dr. Tran answered questions thoroughly and very much helped me make good decisions about my prescription, and about what level of retinal exams would be best for me. I saw Dr. Tran yesterday and was very pleased with her and her staff. The only negative for the visit was fairly minor - the appointment took over an hour from the time I arrived to fill out paperwork until I left the office. The list of positives is definitely much longer than the negatives. The staff were courteous and professional, and were competent assisting with the various diagnostic tests. I felt the exam with Dr. Tran was thorough - checking not only my vision, but also for various eye diseases. She explained each of the steps in the eye exam. She also advised me on proper wear of my contacts and glasses, as well as about new products that have become available since my last visit to an optometrist. I couldn't agree more with Rachael M. (12/30/2009) about Dr. Tran. She's the best, most competent and personal Eye Doctor I've ever seen--and, I've been wearing glasses or contacts for 24 years! I saw Dr. Tran from 2007 through 2013, and would recommend her to anyone. I started seeing her when she was in-network, and though I'm sad my new insurance didn't have her as in-network--I kept going to her anyways. She helped me greatly with my Chronic Dry Eyes condition as well as my normal yearly family check-ups, including after lasik, for glasses and for contacts. I cannot even begin to speak highly enough about MY Dr. Yvani Tran! I have used her as my Optometrist for the last 10 yrs! She in my go to gal, for any, and all of my eye care! She is genuinely concerned, and shows interest, has high integrity, work ethic, and extreme professionalism. For years, I was the worse patient for checking my eyes with that blow test for pressure! I would fail miserably, and she would patiently add drop to numb the eyeball enough to perform the test differently! She was always determined to keep me on track with my check ups. Now low, and behold they have THE BEST, MOST EASIEST, (even feels like a tickle) NEW, and GREATLY improved testing machine, that even I passed with flying colors! Saved MY ego, and helped me back into my big girl panties again! I also remember a couple years back, I had a frightening experience, and she had called me from home, to check on me, and was able to reassure me of what it could be. She then made time in her schedule to see me the very next day. As you can prob tell by now, I have been one of those, "special" patients. I have been referring my family, friends, and clients, in total trust that they will be served well. I have never recieved a bad feedback. Always positive! I did not have an appointment and wanted to get in before end of year. The office explained that they would fit me in as they could and they did just that. I was in the rotations very quickly and you would not have known I was not there by an appointment like the others. The technicians explained the tests they were doing and the doctor was great at explaining what and why. She was able to answer my questions and I never felt rushed or as if they were not interested in my concerns or problems I was having. I have known the previous prescription for glasses was too strong and not right. I have had several doctors re check my prescription as I knew it was too strong. Dr. Tran is the first to explain that the prescription for strength was too strong but the prescription for my astigmatism was correct and why I was having problems. I will definitely return to this doctor for future eye exams. Thank you! read more
