That I wanted just a refraction for a new glasses prescription. They all knew this ahead of time, and showed they understood by telling me no matter how much of their services I received it would still be $75. Yet when I showed up they were somehow surprised, utterly confused, and didn't understand what I was talking about--like it was a perplexing concept and news to them. They were combative and pushy, and I had to struggle to assert and advocate for myself till I finally gave up because it just wasn't worth it. After the supposedly "mandatory" eye-puff part and the full eye exam without dilation (that was their only concession), Dr. Safir rushed me out of room when I had merely two questions. Apparently he had to meet someone more important (a consult?). If they hadn't forced the full exam and taken time with that, then maybe he could've addressed my two questions. Instead, he pawned me off on the front-desk. I don't want front-desk people answering my eye-related concerns. The whole experience was unnecessarily extremely unpleasant and unjustly made me feel like a problem client. Then they almost let me leave without my glasses prescription; I had to ask for it. I won't be going back.

Disappointing Experience with Pushy Sales Tactics…read more I want to start by saying the exam process was simple, and I had no issues with the doctor. However, my issue lies with the experience of getting my glasses prescription filled. From the beginning, I made it very clear that I wanted a basic, affordable second pair of glasses. I mentioned this multiple times--at least three times--but I felt pushed toward more expensive options that I didn't want. When I finally chose a frame covered by my insurance, I was told that my lenses required special processing because of my prescription. The price I was quoted for the lenses was over $500. When I said I couldn't afford that and didn't intend to spend more than $300, the price suddenly dropped to $308 within seconds. Why wasn't this lower option presented to me in the first place? The sudden shift in pricing felt shady and left me questioning the transparency of the process. It felt like I was being pressured into spending more than necessary, and the whole experience came across as unprofessional. I hope this feedback encourages a more honest and straightforward approach in the future. Customers should feel respected and confident in their choices--not pushed into something they don't want or can't afford.

I've waited for two months to get my new glasses. They didn't understand my insurance and sent the…read morewrong frames. They then lost the frames I wanted. Did they offer any discount or anything, NO. I don't even think the new lenses are correct. I would NOT recommend.

The experience was very positive. Everyone, from the receptionist to the advisor for frames to the doctor were super nice. Dr. McClennan was very thorough and spent a lot of time getting to know my eye needs. The eye exam was comprehensive and I felt good about it. After the exam, there is an extensive selection of frames. An advisor helped my pick one that met my needs. I was happy with the selection. The only downside about this business is accessibility. It is nearly impossible to access if you are going west on Mockingbird. There is no U-turn sign at the Greenville stoplight so you have to turn left on Greenville and hope to be able to squeeze in a left turn into the parking lot. Going east on Mockingbird is much easier, although parking is tight no matter which direction you are going. Overall, I would recommend this business.

We have been coming here for some years and I have highly recommended Dr Chapman to many. However…read moresadly as others have commented below the front staff have a complete dissregard for how to treat patients and potential new patients. I have vision coverage via my place of employment but wanted to know what my supplemental coverage covered and asked the front staff to look into this from the time I booked my appointment a week prior to the time I came into the office for our appointment. I received a text from them stating our visit was covered so I called to ask about the discount and they told me that our visit was covered. At this point I figured I would again ask them when I came in for our appointment in person. So today when we came in I asked them again and the front ladies stated that they didn't check it (even though I asked them too)! So I asked them if they could check it because my daughter in law wanted to come in as a new patient. At this point they said we do not take that and I pulled up the discount site and showed them where Dr Chapman was at the TOP of the list of providers that accepted it. Then they both just looked away and acted as if they didn't care one bit! It's sad because Dr Chapman is great but with staff like this who do not seem to care one bit he just lost a potential new patient and quite possibly my family of five...

Children running around office. I was told by a very rude Dr. Manning to come back at my appointment time which was less than 15 minutes later. You need to cheat off someone else's work to get you started? Totally unprofessional first impression. I cancelled my appointment on the spot and will not return. Do better! I walked out of there and even called my mom ranting and raving about how great of an experience it was!! I just went to her the other day and, had it the same energy! Dr. Jennifer Manning will definitely be the only eye doc I see here in dallas!! ALSO- she's the ONLY doctor who has EVER told me there's a little line on contacts that tells you which way to put them in, I've worn contacts for 15 years and no eye doctor ever told me that!!!

This is my second year coming to this establishment for my annual eye exam. They are located at…read moreCostco, but NOT inside Costco. Their office is attached to the Costco building, but they are independently owned and operated. You do NOT need a Costco membership to use this optometrist. Anyone can use their services whether you have insurance or not. Both times, it was easy to make an appointment. First time we walked in after shopping at Costco and made appointments in person. I had time, so I saw them later the same day. My husband came back later in the week. On my second visit here a year later, I called and made an appointment on the phone. My information was already in the system, so it was quick to setup. They offer several types of eye tests. When filling out your paperwork, it clearly states which tests are offered and the cost for each. You indicate on your paperwork which tests you want. The test options are: 1) The field test (the one where you push a button every time you see a light flash on the screen 2) The puff test (the one where they blow a puff of air into your eye) 3) The digital imaging test (the one where they take a picture of the back of your eye to check on the health of the blood vessels) Even though my insurance only covers one of the tests, I get everything and pay out of pocket for the rest. The technician takes you through the above tests. You sit on a wheeled stool and slide to the left until you have visited each machine. After a short wait, you visit with the doctor to discuss your concerns. You will read the usual eye charts "EZOST" and do the "Which one is clearer, 1 or 2?" test. If you requested dilation of the eyes, the doctor will put the drops in and then you'll wait in the lobby for the solution to take affect. After awhile, you'll be called back in to go over your test results and do some more basic tests where the doctor will shine lights in your eyes to check your eye health and vision. I've seen two different doctors here. Both were very professional and answered my questions. Before leaving, you'll pay any amounts owed and receive print outs of distance and reading prescriptions as well as a receipt for the services rendered. The staff were kind enough to provide me with a pair of take home glasses (actually a piece of dark film that adheres to your face) to protect my eyes until the dilation wore off. There are no frames for sale here, so no high pressure sales. If you have a Costco membership, you can venture inside the building and pick and buy frames, but if you don't, you can take your prescription to any favorite retailer to get your preferred frames at a price that works for you. I appreciate the courtesy and professional service I receive here. They communicate everything clearly and in advance of service. There are no surprises in care or cost. This is a great optometrist office.
