Had a great experience here! I was in need of a new optometrist and stumbled across Dr. Nguyen during my research. The team was super friendly and helpful. They're also very punctual. I was running 4 mins behind due to traffic and they went ahead and brought in the appointment behind me since they were already there and waiting. Not ideal for me of course but great if the shoe had been on the other foot. It's a pretty cozy space so I waited for the appointment to wrap up by admiring the small town views and a few new pair of glasses. Dr. Nguyen was a pleasure. She was knowledgeable and made sure that I had just as much of an understanding of what was going on with my eyes. I didn't feel rushed at all going through my exam and she gave me thoughtful suggestions on my next steps to ensure that my eye health was being prioritized. I also appreciated that Dr. Nguyen sanitized the equipment before having me use each machine. At the front desk for check out, the woman who helped me there was also really patient as I scrambled to find my HSA card to pay. It started pouring down raining and she was even kind enough to walk me through the back door to my car so I wouldn't get as wet. I will be ordering my new contacts from here soon and was told the turnaround time is really quick. I look forward to receiving them and I am excited to have a new eye doctor. read more

My original eye doctor closed his doors after Covid and I was left shopping for another eye doctor. Did some local research to see who worked with our insurance and sure enough Eyevenue showed up. From the moment I walked into the door, the receptionist was very friendly and inviting. Dr Tami and Thai-An were very helpful and informative throughout my eye appointment. They answered my questions appropriately and provided me with a variety of options and recommendations. They have great communication skills and keep you informed throughout the examination. Dr. Tami really had great input with different frames and lenses for my prescription and glasses. She did not attempt to persuade my decisions on frames, but helped support it in many different styles available. She was upfront with prices and gave me options on my lense coatings/additions. My appointment time was performed in a timely and organized manner. It was very quick and easy with time to even choose my lenses/frames. I really highly recommend this eye clinic and would definitely feel comfortable coming back to have my eyes examined! The place is very clean. They made allowances for the virus lockdown when we came to pick up the glasses. Online scheduling was very easy. Text messaging confirmations made communication very streamlined. Parking was sufficient for the patients. My appointment was 10:30 a.m. The doctor was on time. The exam was very thorough, and the doctor was very attentive. She wanted to ensure my prescription was accurate and correct for me. If you are looking for a reliable, affordable, and high quality eye doctor... This is it. I am uninsured, so I priced out a lot of optometrists around central and east Dallas, and I honestly thought EyeVenue would be out of my budget. I left a voicemail after hours inquiring on the cost of a glasses and contacts exam, and they texted me within a few minutes with a price that matched Target Optical AND Walmart. The office itself definitely feels more upscale than either of those places. It is calming and trendy with a wide selection of frames and high tech diagnostic machines. My doctor was SO nice. She knew I was uninsured and would need to price out options before committing, and she made me feel comfortable and just as important as any other patient. The prescription we landed on is perfect, and she sent me home with sample contacts so I could try them out a few times after not wearing them for several years. Though I didn't purchase frames there, my experience with trying them on was still top notch. They have a lot of designer, but also a nice selection of budget frames, as well. When I mentioned that I might have to go somewhere else, they immediately and without prompting started to adjust the prices to my budget. Believe me, I honestly WANTED to find my glasses there. They were so nice. But the style I wanted just wasn't quite in the budget. All in all, this was probably the best experience I've had at an optometrist. It's a local, family operation that deserves all of our business. One of the doctors was even hand painting their front desk when I came in for my follow up. I stopped wearing contacts because they made me feel exhausted, my eyes always felt heavy, and I was constantly blinking due to dryness that caused my vision to blur with my toric daily lenses. I work in the surgical field so my vision has to be 100%. I have been wearing contacts for 17 years and thought that my eyes just couldn't tolerate contacts anymore. I was prepared to wear glasses forever. I have Tricare Prime Remote insurance for active duty but could not find any highly reviewed doctors in the area that were in-network. When it comes to vision, I would rather pay for an exam with a reputable doctor than take a chance with a random HMO provider. I called multiple five star doctors on Yelp for quotes. Dr. Nguyen had hands-down the most competitively priced exams for non-insured patients in the area. I paid $139 for glasses and contact lens fitting which was much less than neighboring practices and even comparable to Costco! (Your cost may be different based on your needs...) Dr. Nguyen is very thorough and maybe a little OCD in a good doctor kind of way. You can tell that she wants your vision as close to perfect as possible. She also has a machine that takes pictures of the back of your eye so she can show you what she sees and also you don't have to get dilated! I was expecting her to tell me that I wouldn't be able to wear contacts anymore. Instead, she found that my prescription was too strong in one eye and my astigmatism had changed. She recommended that I try Acuvue Oasys for increased comfort. I had been wearing clariti toric from CooperVision for the last three years. I was skeptical that it would make a difference but agreed to try them out... ...and she was totally right! The trial lenses (even though they weren't 100% a match to my final prescription) felt so comfortable! I could wear them all day from 0630 to 2300 without wanting to rip them out of my eyes and putting my glasses on. The icing on the cake is when I went for my one week follow-up, the final prescription and little 0.25 tweaks that she did in each eye was really was spot on. She even took her time during my follow-up appointment. You can tell that it bothers her if she thinks your vision is even a little bit blurry. The office is very clean, has a cute modern feel, and has a large selection of designer frames. I ultimately got my frames online because I wanted a specific style and color but need nose-pads for my low-profile Asian nose so the frames dont hit my eyeball or cheeks. The office uniquely offers titanium nose-pad implants for $60-80! Definitely a service I may be using if I find some cheap cute frames online that dont have universal fit or nosepads for when my dog chews up my current ones. The office matches 1800contacts on contact lenses and Dr. Nguyen's rebate was way higher. ($90 rebate on 1800contacts versus $300 at her office for July 2020). I ended up buying my contacts this year on 1800 because I had 200+ unused dailies to exchange (sadface), but next year I definitely will be purchasing them from Dr. Nguyen to support her practice. She was never pushy in any way and even told me not to worry about buying my contacts from her because she understands there's a lot of competition and I think she could tell that I felt really bad. I really wanted to purchase my lenses from her but I also wanted my money back from 1800contacts for the 200+ unused dailies that I never want to wear again. Bottom-line: you should go see Dr. Nguyen for your eye exam regardless if you have insurance or not! I definitely will be seeing her for my annual eye exams and also recommending my friends and husband to her. Dr. Nguyen takes her time, has competitive pricing, and never makes you feel rushed. She is a good person and a good doctor. ***Edited to add: Her office has a phone number where you can text to communicate with them! It's very convenient so you don't have to wait for a good time during work to call or wait until they're open to contact them. They will send you appointment reminders via text and you can confirm with text too. It's an actual person on the line so you can ask them questions. I asked for them to send my glasses prescription via text and they emailed it to me when they opened the next day. Super easy. read more

I can't credit EyeVenue enough. Seriously, the best place to go for a eye checkup, contacts, & glasses. Moving to Dallas has been tough to find the right places to go. Say no more "EyeVenue" has my heart. The night before while flying my contact decided to rip, the next morning woke up with a irritated swollen eye. It was about 7am and started looking for places to go. Dr. Nguyen messaged me at 7:30am and said I could come in immediately. First of all, I usually don't do reviews. But when I do, its because the service was BEYOND amazing. I recently just had purchased vision insurance. I just needed new glasses and wanted to try some new lens upgrade without having to pay a large amount of money. I wanted to fully take advantage of my benefits. The previous glasses I've purchased has always been at LENSCRAFTER. I was a cash patient. I didn't have insurance. I just needed new glasses. I went broke. The reason I go to LENSCRAFTER is because of their huge collection of RAY-BANS. It is one of my favorite brands that would fit my face and look good. But when I went to LENSCRAFTER with my insurance plan, they yet still want to rake my bank account. They weren't "In-Network" with VSP so they were quoting me VSP Open Access Out-of-Network fees and coverage. A big name chain and yet they aren't In-Network with VSP. I just can't. I just don't get it. What is the point of me having this insurance plan then. So I left and told them that I will think about it. I called VSP insurance company and asked them questions about the difference between Out-of-Network vs In-Network and I now fully understood my insurance plan. They even had given me tips about purchasing and request ordering frames from my doctor so I can save money. I did, but my doctor didn't offer that anymore because many people had flaked on him. SO as I was stumbling around YELP, I found this office. It sucks that people rely on RATINGS nowadays to choose the best businesses but I'm glad I came into this listing. The SERVICE from TAMI was beyond unbelievable. She was KIND, SOFT-SPOKEN, HELPFUL, any POSITIVE word you can think of. She responds back quick. She ACTUALLY helps you and NOT try to make money off of you. After she quoted me, I'm actually saving HUNDREDS. She ANSWERED all the questions I was curious and concerned about. I have always wanted contacts, but never got around to getting them. For some reason I always had a fear of putting them in and taking them out. I called for an appointment and luckily there was a cancellation and they were able to fit me in the same day. Dr. Nguyen was very friendly and explained everything thoroughly. Once my prescription was figured out, she helped me put sample contacts in for the first time. It took awhile for one of my eyes, but she was very patient. She gave me some samples to take home and try. The receptionist helped me learn how to put contacts in and take them out after my exam. She was very friendly and patient also. The price for the exam was very reasonable and they did not try to sell me on frames for my existing glasses like other places always do. I highly recommend this place. I visited EyeVenue as I wanted to purchase new glasses for my daughter's wedding. An employee opened the door for me and let me enter EyeVenue, then she promptly chastised me saying I needed to make an appointment before visiting this establishment. She never smiled, said she hoped I would come back, or instructed me how to make an appointment, she just turned her back to me. I understand we need to be safe during the Covid-19 pandemic, and limiting patient contact. We don't need to be nasty. I started going to Eye Venue back in 2019 with Dr. Nguyen was just starting out and every year afterward got my eye exam. I guess it's true that people change with getting known because Dr. Nguyen use to be so nice but she has changed sadly. She was abrupt, rude and lacked bedside manners. Her office staff at the end of my visit apologized on Dr. Nguyen's behalf. Maybe it was because I was 10 minutes late due to my Uber being late which she let me be known even though I did let them know I was going to be late since I dont drive because I'm disabled. I was happy to see her and jokingly I asked "may I get a discount for being a loyal customer of yours for many years and sending her many referrals over the years?"But that's when her whole demeanor changed and a very mean person appeared. She made me feel bad about asking for a discount that I was joking. However I don't think I should be degraded for asking a simple question. I was scolded like a 2 year old for asking a simple question. I felt so uncomfortable but stayed because it had taken so much out of me to get to the appointment since I'm mostly bed ridden. Also Her floors were so dirty full of hair with dirty carpets. As her eye equipment wasn't fully cleaned or sanitized either. This was my last time going to her as the owner of Eye Venue.
