Terrible customer service as a potential new customer. Arrived for appointment in advance to complete new patient forms. Arrived to a locked door. Not even invited inside. Children running around office. I was told by a very rude Dr. Manning to come back at my appointment time which was less than 15 minutes later. No offer to come inside, wait or complete forms in advance. Said to make sure I had my old glass that she couldn't do exam without them. How does a doc not know how to do a fresh exam? You need to cheat off someone else's work to get you started? Totally unprofessional first impression. I cancelled my appointment on the spot and will not return. Do better! Would have left 0 stars if this was an option. Find a better doc in the area, there are plenty of options. read more

This is my second time going to Dr. Manning and I meant to write a review the first time because I was so blown away by how great of an experience it was! I have never had such a pleasant experience with an eye doctor before. She truly took the time to figure out what would work best- and I had a bit of a difficult case so it did take a good amount of time! I walked out of there and even called my mom ranting and raving about how great of an experience it was!! I just went to her the other day and, had it the same energy! Dr. Jennifer Manning will definitely be the only eye doc I see here in dallas!! ALSO- she's the ONLY doctor who has EVER told me there's a little line on contacts that tells you which way to put them in, I've worn contacts for 15 years and no eye doctor ever told me that!!! read more

Exceptional patient care! Dr. Jennifer Manning offers a relaxing atmosphere. Every aspect of my exam was painless and timely. I have had excellent vision my entire life until the last couple of years. I couldn't understand why almost overnight I couldn't see well. She took the time to explain what happens with the eye as we age and circumstances, such as environment settings, She answered my questions, put my mind at ease and above all else, it was almost like being in a spa like atmosphere. Very relaxing very calming very tranquil. I have extreme ADHD and rarely relax and stop talking. There was a peace I can't explain when at The Eyehouse with Dr. manning. Dr. Manning at the EyeHouse has a vast selection of frames as well as contacts. I took advantage of both. And I'm most glad that I did! So I'm at a cigar lounge hanging out watching the game and I look at the flat screen about 25 feet away and I can't see ANYTHING, one of my buddies says "MAN YOU NEED GLASSES!" I proceed to cuss him out inside of my head and strolled out of the cigar lounge. So my benefits just kicked at work and I went searching for a place close by where I could get a simple eye examination and picked Eyehouse randomly. Dr. Manning agreed to see me the same day and I found her location with no problem. I found her office to be very nice and looked to be state of the art. I found her examination and overall style in general to be very thorough and exact. I found out that I in fact needed glasses and then we went to the display cases and she helped me pick out a nice pair of Persol frames with a bit of vintage flair that fit my face perfectly. I had a great experience visiting Eyehouse and I have found a new optometrist in Dr. Manning. Visit the Eyehouse, and thank me later. read more

It's the worst place I have been to. The eye doc keeps pushing me purchasing expensive frames ($250-$500), contacts throughout the whole visit. I was indeed thinking about buying one of the frames at the begging since it is very light and pretty. However, she only did ~ 10 min examination on my eyes with limited patients. I worried the accuracy of her exam. So, I decided not buying anything. For the eye pressure test, she put some drops into my eyes without telling me what they are. She also didn't explain the eye pressure test procedure to me. The strong intensity lights she targeted into my eyes making me feel very uncomfortable. She also keeps a dog in the examination room. I was worried about the hygienity of her hands since I didn't notice she got her hands washed before the exam. read more

One of the best eye docs around! Dr. Manning was patient and professional from initial phone call to schedule an appointment until final delivery of the frames. I needed some glasses for driving at night and noticed Eyehouse took my VSP insurance. Dr. Manning gave me a thorough eye exam and help me select 5 pairs of glasses of different styles, colors, and price points. The selection of frames is so well-curated that I had a hard time choosing one pair. So when my insurance renewed a couple of weeks ago, I went back to Dr. Manning for a second set. Both times, the frames arrived within a week or so. The shop has a great location and setup, and if you need glasses - an awesome selection. Dr. Manning is a true professional - and very easy to talk with. I enjoyed our conversations, her advice on selecting a pair of glasses, and the overall experience. I normally go to another dr but I wear gas permeable lenses and one of them had cracked. Unfortunately my normal dr was out and unavailable and I could not just refill it since the prescription I had expired. I decided to go to this location since I saw a friend that I knew who wore gas permeable lenses check in on face book. One of the first things she asked was to see the glasses I was wearing and the single contact lens I had brought with me. She asked what my strength was and I just guessed. I stated "maybe a -9". I thought that was odd but didn't think anything of it. She did not give me a full exam. no puff test. no follow my finger around etc. she stated that she would give me a -9. 0. in my head I thought that's weird that I got my strength correct. I gave them few days of adjustment and have to strain to see things. There is no way this is the correct prescription. How lazy can you be to go by a patient's guess for a prescription. She then asked me to get my previous dr to fax over my records which I thought was odd again. . Why couldn't she get my prescription correct though the exam? Why does she need someone else's records? It's just weird. Next time I have to wait for eye dr I'll go to my mainstay no matter how long I have to wait. I predict I'm going to have multiple visits away from work to get this correct. Also she told me she doesn't do followups on Saturdays. womp womp read more

Dr Jennifer Manning is very knowledgeable and has a knack for explaining complicated issues in a way that put me at ease. The front of the Eyehouse is plain in the shopping strip across from the Oaklawn Post Office. One you step inside you will be delighted with the selection of frames and all the top of the line optical equipment. I ended up here after not being able to get an appointment with a friend's doctor. I've never been treated so well or gotten my glasses in such a short period of time. I've got a tough bifocal prescription and ordered some special features added. I wasn't happy to find out I have a cataract in each eye but I was absolutely delighted in every way with my experience at the Eyehouse. read more

We really enjoyed our visit to Eye House. My husband and I were able to get an eye appointment at the same time and Dr. Manning actually did our appointments together, which was great as it saved a lot of time. We also got a Saturday appt, which was excellent as our jobs make it difficult to do weekday appts. The selection on frames is pretty good, and Dr. Manning really took her time to help my husband settle on the right contact lenses for him. I felt very taken care of there and appreciated Dr. Manning's style. She was very patient and really understands the insurance packages. I should be getting my glasses tomorrow or Saturday and I am so excited. I will definitely be visiting Eye House in the future. read more

This is based simply on my experience with the receptionist...I tried to schedule an appointment as a new patient and was asked by the receptionist to provide my insurance info (normal!) but then when I told her the name, she told me she didn't know what the larger provider over that smaller name was and that I needed to contact my insurance company and find out and let her know. If I'm not mistaken, that is likely something she gets paid to do. Poor customer service generally - when I ended up canceling my appointment, she didn't ask why, she just canceled and said goodbye. Incredibly rude customer service when I called to make a new patient appointment. When I told the receptionist I needed to make a new appointment she let out a huge sigh like she do it want to do it. Then when I gave her my insurance information she told me she couldn't make the appointment with the information I provided her, she needed to know the name of my vision insurance, which is the same provider name that I gave her. Long story short, I didn't make the appointment, called a different eye doctor, gave them the same insurance information and made the appointment without any issues or signs. If my experience was this bad trying to give someone my business I cant image what it's like to actually to be a patient. read more

I'm surprised there are few negative reviews. I went to Dr.Manning for the first time in 2016, and she was amazing. I didn't know how much my insurance benefits would cover, but she was so nice and went over it with me. The eye exam went smoothly. Dr.Manning did my brother and I's eye exam in a timely manner and she was very thorough with the procedure! Dr.Manning is also fun to talk to, and she's sweet! Makes the exam much more exciting. I went to her again this July 2017, and it went great. She gave me $50 off on a pair of Raybans, because my current Tory Burch pairs were too tight on me. Dr.Manning was amazing for doing that! I took a while picking out the perfect pair and she was patient with me. Dr.Manning is a respected and professional Optometrist by me. She knows what she's doing, and will help you. I've been wearing glasses for over 40 years. Therefore, the visits to the eye doctor and purchasing of glasses has become routine. Last night, this doctor re- opened her business after hours so my wife and I could be examined and order glasses/ contacts. This is a level of service not seen in today's marketplace. And it was the first time in many years that I received an eye examination that was both thorough and professional. The frames available are competitively priced but not the cheap plastics sold in the burn and turn market. I can't wait for my new glasses to arrive. I went to the Eye House on Friday 2/24/2017 for a full eye exam and on Monday 2/27, I couldn't see! I called the Dr. Jennifer Manning at 7am Tuesday to tell her and the "call dropped" but I called back immediately and left a voicemail but she never returned my call. I switched to my old contacts in the meantime. During my initial visit I ordered my contacts. They were delivered Friday 3/3. Dr. Manning still hadn't returned my call. I called her again on Saturday and I told her I couldn't see and that I put my old contacts in. Her response was "you said you were a -6.00" yes I did say my previous prescription was -6.00 when you asked me what my vision was and the type of contacts I wore. She then said "well I can exchange them" I asked her "how can you exchange them if you don't know my prescription or if I have another eye issue?" She paused and said "well you want to come back again, but you need to pay for her exam" at this point I just said ok and made the appointment. I immediately called my insurance company (VSP) and told them the situation. They recommended another eye doctor at new location to provide a new eye exam however I still have to go to Dr. Manning to exchange the contacts when I get the new prescription because she refused to admit negligence. She told VSP that I was "overprescribed" previously but I never brought a previous prescription in and we only discussed my eye history. Also, she did a full eye exam and didn't offer any alternative methods of resolutions if she actually felt I was "over prescribed". One would assume she would have offered me some options to test out the different contacts and to return again before ordering the official prescription, but that did not happen. My concern for future patience is her disregard for providing proper medical care. Based on her logic she will do whatever a patience past diagnosis was even if she does a "full eye exam" For Example: If a man who has never worn glasses after 40yrs, goes to see her, she will say he doesn't need glasses based on his previous history of not wearing glasses. I'm not sure if she is lazy or negligent but I would be very cautious when seeking her expertise. read more

Just left the Eyehouse a couple of hours ago and had to write about it. The shop is trendy. Dr. Manning is very friendly and the frames were super stylish (even found ones I liked). Dr. Manning was very patient and answered all my questions. She took my insurance and offered great prices on contacts.
