I was running 4 mins behind due to traffic and they went ahead and brought in the appointment behind me since they were already there and waiting. Not ideal for me of course but great if the shoe had been on the other foot. It's a pretty cozy space so I waited for the appointment to wrap up by admiring the small town views and a few new pair of glasses. Dr. Nguyen was a pleasure. She was knowledgeable and made sure that I had just as much of an understanding of what was going on with my eyes. I didn't feel rushed at all going through my exam and she gave me thoughtful suggestions on my next steps to ensure that my eye health was being prioritized. I also appreciated that Dr. Nguyen sanitized the equipment before having me use each machine. At the front desk for check out, the woman who helped me there was also really patient as I scrambled to find my HSA card to pay. It started pouring down raining and she was even kind enough to walk me through the back door to my car so I wouldn't get as wet. I will be ordering my new contacts from here soon and was told the turnaround time is really quick. I look forward to receiving them and I am excited to have a new eye doctor.

No early emergencies would be accommodated, and were frankly very abrupt on the phone. I knew that eyes are serious business, and I could not wait. I called First Eye Care, as they had seen me once before, under similar circumstances, and they told me to come in immediately. The reception staff was so nice and I was promptly seen by Dr.Kumar. She was so kind and shared extensive information about my condition, a severe corneal abrasion, and provided excellent care. She confirmed that I should not have put off seeing someone as soon as possible. Needless to say, I gave my original eye care provider a second chance to step up, and now I definitely won't be going back. First eye care Downtown has my business going forward. I highly recommend them!"

They must not offer customer service training. When I picked up my eyeglasses, they didn't offer to have them fitted. A few days later I ordered sunglasses. They were supposed to arrive before Christmas. When I called to check on the 23rd they said they would have to call Oakley (don't they have the tracking number? ‍). Eventually we reconnected and found out that they have been delivered, but to the other location (‍). They said they would be ready to pick up on the 28th. OK.... I show up on the 29th and they can't be found. Only reason I'm giving them more than 1 star is they carry decent brands and have a decent selection.

When I first entered, I was immediately greeted by a gentleman affectionately referred to as "Mac". He is nicknamed Mac because it is easy to remember. Let me tell you about Mac. He is a consummate professional. He made me feel like the most important person in his life during our brief exchange, and he really catered to my needs. He was not pushy and tailored my wants and needs with his expert technical knowledge-base and fashion sensibility. I ended up getting two pair of glasses. One for my slight stigmatism, for my far-sightedness. I purchased a pair of Modo frames with that prescription which have been complimented on by others. Additionally, I purchased a pair of reading glasses. They are a stronger prescription for my nearsightedness. They are the most important of my prescriptions for my daily life. The two frames are completely different in design and style and this was intentionally suggested by Mac, and I'm very grateful because they're pretty slick looking. I couldn't be happier with my purchases and I have received many compliments on the look of both pairs. I am very delighted with Mac and Payrite Optical on Greenville Ave. I could not give him more praise if I tried. The good: The exam was good…read more The Bad: The new glasses themselves were shockingly expensive, and the lenses are not as good as the 12 year old glasses they are meant to replace. I sent them back to be re-done because the first time they were like straight-up readers (not what I asked for). When they came back the second time they were slightly better but feel almost like progressives because they are still too "reader like" and the prime focus area is below-center. I don't know how to say "I want the best focus to be 4-6+ feet away" The Ugly: I doubt I'll ever wear these glasses and will stick to the beat-up,scratched-up ones that just work.

This is a husband/wife run business and has a great family atmosphere. The staff is very nice and the office is laid back, but professional. I love they bring their beautiful Husky to work! She is like the office mascot. Anyway, both my husband and I liked Dr. Meyer and his assistants very much. He explains everything very well and does not try and oversell you anything. He told my husband that for now, he should just stick with his "cheaters" . For me, he did my contact lens fitting and adjusted my prescription a bit. For the person that gave him a bad review earlier about the contact lens fitting.....every place I have ever gone to charges for this. The nice thing about Dr. Meyers office is that when they order your contacts through them, they discount it back. It's also worth the $39 or so to take the Fundus Photo procedure of your eye. It can show any health problems like diabetes, sun damage etc.. Dallas Eyeworks will now be our permanent go-to here in Dallas.

Disappointing Experience with Pushy Sales Tactics…read more I want to start by saying the exam process was simple, and I had no issues with the doctor. However, my issue lies with the experience of getting my glasses prescription filled. From the beginning, I made it very clear that I wanted a basic, affordable second pair of glasses. I mentioned this multiple times--at least three times--but I felt pushed toward more expensive options that I didn't want. When I finally chose a frame covered by my insurance, I was told that my lenses required special processing because of my prescription. The price I was quoted for the lenses was over $500. When I said I couldn't afford that and didn't intend to spend more than $300, the price suddenly dropped to $308 within seconds. Why wasn't this lower option presented to me in the first place? The sudden shift in pricing felt shady and left me questioning the transparency of the process. It felt like I was being pressured into spending more than necessary, and the whole experience came across as unprofessional. I hope this feedback encourages a more honest and straightforward approach in the future. Customers should feel respected and confident in their choices--not pushed into something they don't want or can't afford.
