I was running 4 mins behind due to traffic and they went ahead and brought in the appointment behind me since they were already there and waiting. Not ideal for me of course but great if the shoe had been on the other foot. It's a pretty cozy space so I waited for the appointment to wrap up by admiring the small town views and a few new pair of glasses. Dr. Nguyen was a pleasure. She was knowledgeable and made sure that I had just as much of an understanding of what was going on with my eyes. I didn't feel rushed at all going through my exam and she gave me thoughtful suggestions on my next steps to ensure that my eye health was being prioritized. I also appreciated that Dr. Nguyen sanitized the equipment before having me use each machine. At the front desk for check out, the woman who helped me there was also really patient as I scrambled to find my HSA card to pay. It started pouring down raining and she was even kind enough to walk me through the back door to my car so I wouldn't get as wet. I will be ordering my new contacts from here soon and was told the turnaround time is really quick. I look forward to receiving them and I am excited to have a new eye doctor.

She was so kind and shared extensive information about my condition, a severe corneal abrasion, and provided excellent care. She confirmed that I should not have put off seeing someone as soon as possible. Needless to say, I gave my original eye care provider a second chance to step up, and now I definitely won't be going back. First eye care Downtown has my business going forward. Eventually we reconnected and found out that they have been delivered, but to the other location (‍). They said they would be ready to pick up on the 28th. OK.... Malerie guided me to a frame that was such a perfect fit and style I'm now buying the same pair again. Her sense of fashion and talent for matching frames to face shape was such a relief, turning what is usually a stressful task into an effortless process. Living in a small community, I don't have access to this quality, selection or expertise, so discovering Tom Barrett Optical has been a real blessing. Achieving the perfect prescription and fit has always been a challenge, but with their team it became seamless, stress-free and precise from the very beginning. Last fall, I returned to their delightful store for updated measurements and fitting details. Recently, I sent them my new prescription and promptly received my new bifocals and readers via UPS. I am astounded by the precision of the fit and the prescription-they are comfortable, stylish, and have enhanced my vision. Their wide selection of high-quality frames is very impressive! Disappointing Experience with Pushy Sales Tactics…read more I want to start by saying the exam process was simple, and I had no issues with the doctor. However, my issue lies with the experience of getting my glasses prescription filled. From the beginning, I made it very clear that I wanted a basic, affordable second pair of glasses. I mentioned this multiple times--at least three times--but I felt pushed toward more expensive options that I didn't want. When I finally chose a frame covered by my insurance, I was told that my lenses required special processing because of my prescription. The price I was quoted for the lenses was over $500. When I said I couldn't afford that and didn't intend to spend more than $300, the price suddenly dropped to $308 within seconds. Why wasn't this lower option presented to me in the first place? The sudden shift in pricing felt shady and left me questioning the transparency of the process. It felt like I was being pressured into spending more than necessary, and the whole experience came across as unprofessional. I hope this feedback encourages a more honest and straightforward approach in the future. Customers should feel respected and confident in their choices--not pushed into something they don't want or can't afford.

I guess I'm glad that I received such appalling service from the office of Dr. Nancy Opara & Assoc…read more(namely Lester Eisenberg) in Feb 2021 (read my review if you dare), because I was able to make an appointment with Dr. David Weber & the wonderful staff at The Eye Zone! From the 1st phone call, I was treated by cheery, professional people. I was informed to wait in my car until phoned to come upstairs. This is normal & acceptable in these times. Upon my arrival, I was greeted by a staff of 3 smiling people. I was asked to wait in the entry while a woman took my temperature. The doctor & staff never stopped smiling! Dr. Weber did make a comment that I felt was not at all PC, but we got over it. He thought that because I had a Hispanic surname that I didn't speak English so he spoke to me in Spanish. When I told him that I don't speak Spanish, I speak English, he commented that my English is very good. I was born & bred right here in Dallas, my surname is my ex-hubby's, I told him. My Dad's roots are Scottish/Irish! When in doubt, please refrain from comments that trigger one to feel patronized. But, my dad would probably have made the same kind of blunder. Anyway, we did get past that... he escorted me to the exam room, asked me to be seated, asked me to describe any problems I'm having, did not rush me or pressure me, made lots of silly jokes, gave me a cute little paper to cover my eye (he must be a hit with kiddos) and assured me that they are very vigilant about their sanitation processes. When I seemed to change an answer to a previous question, he re-checked my vision to get the most exact data he could. Our visit lasted over an hour. He then escorted me to a kind woman who helped me pick out my frames. She picked out the perfect frames for me! The cashier who checked me out told me I have fantastic insurance, which made me happy! We all laughed and visited a minute before I left. When my glasses arrived. I was treated in the same manner, start to finish. I wish I had paid more attention to the woman's name who assisted me, she was very professional and yet very friendly at the same time. They informed me that my glasses came with these sun shades for outdoors, but since I need my glasses for reading the doc said, use them for reading on the beach! It will be a long year before I get to enjoy their company again, but I urge to check them out. It will be a nice experience. Customer service is almost always hit or miss, people can have 'off' days, but this group seem to be happy all the time.
