I guess I'm glad that I received such appalling service from the office of Dr. Nancy Opara & Assoc (namely Lester Eisenberg) in Feb 2021 (read my review if you dare), because I was able to make an appointment with Dr. David Weber & the wonderful staff at The Eye Zone! From the 1st phone call, I was treated by cheery, professional people. I was informed to wait in my car until phoned to come upstairs. This is normal & acceptable in these times. Upon my arrival, I was greeted by a staff of 3 smiling people. I was asked to wait in the entry while a woman took my temperature. The doctor & staff never stopped smiling! Dr. Weber did make a comment that I felt was not at all PC, but we got over it. He thought that because I had a Hispanic surname that I didn't speak English so he spoke to me in Spanish. When I told him that I don't speak Spanish, I speak English, he commented that my English is very good. I was born & bred right here in Dallas, my surname is my ex-hubby's, I told him. My Dad's roots are Scottish/Irish! When in doubt, please refrain from comments that trigger one to feel patronized. But, my dad would probably have made the same kind of blunder. Anyway, we did get past that... he escorted me to the exam room, asked me to be seated, asked me to describe any problems I'm having, did not rush me or pressure me, made lots of silly jokes, gave me a cute little paper to cover my eye (he must be a hit with kiddos) and assured me that they are very vigilant about their sanitation processes. When I seemed to change an answer to a previous question, he re-checked my vision to get the most exact data he could. Our visit lasted over an hour. He then escorted me to a kind woman who helped me pick out my frames. She picked out the perfect frames for me! The cashier who checked me out told me I have fantastic insurance, which made me happy! We all laughed and visited a minute before I left. When my glasses arrived. I was treated in the same manner, start to finish. I wish I had paid more attention to the woman's name who assisted me, she was very professional and yet very friendly at the same time. They informed me that my glasses came with these sun shades for outdoors, but since I need my glasses for reading the doc said, use them for reading on the beach! It will be a long year before I get to enjoy their company again, but I urge to check them out. It will be a nice experience. Customer service is almost always hit or miss, people can have 'off' days, but this group seem to be happy all the time. read more

Having lived in Dallas, TX for ten years, I became a patient of Dr. David Weber's. He is kind, thorough, professional and takes his practice seriously. I was welcomed by the office manager in a friendly "Texas" way! His assistant Christie was also professional and thorough. I got two pairs of glasses from The Eye Zone, both prescription, both super fashionable. I brought in a fabulous pair of vintage frames (from 1951), and they replaced the lenses with my prescription lenses. I absolutely love "the look" of the glasses with my prescription lenses. Thank you, Eye Zone. Whenever they needed an adjustment or a proper cleaning, they did that for me, with a smile. I am confused by the one-star ratings, as this has definitely NOT been my experience. I have recommended a number of friends to Dr. Weber and they were pleased as well. Give him a chance to treat your peepers! read more

i came with a prescription already to order glasses. i cannot recommend this place enough! my mom, my sister, and i all have congenital cataracts/other eye problems and have been to many places for eye care. this is by far our favorite place to get glasses. the doctor and staff are so knowledgeable and caring. they make the visit so fun and i am so satisfied with my glasses! read more

I've been coming in to see Dr. Weber for more than 6 years and since the first visit, I've recommended him to anyone interested (and a few who probably weren't). The main reason I am such an evangelist is the thoroughness of his exams and the accuracy of his diagnoses. I used to wear contacts (vanity, thy name is Matt), but had always suffered from a bit of a 'blur'. It didn't take long for Dr. Weber to identify what my issue was and recommend a solution: get a pair of glasses with prisms to correct my amblyopia. Not sure why the other optometrists I had been to didn't make the connection, but the fact that Dr. Weber did has made me a lifelong fan. What about the jump from contacts to glasses? Well, the staff has helped me pick out frames and lenses that allow me to maintain an inflated sense of pride in my appearance. I even go in ever' so often to get them adjusted. Dr. Weber definitley is thorough which is why I came here after 3 years of not having an eye exam. He educated me on everything he was doing during the exam and considering I'm a post lasik patient my exam was very involved and lengthy but he was kind and patient. He will ask lots of questions and give several scenarios to make sure you understand him. Insurance took care of most of my cost and there was an issue with reimbursement but after a couple of phone calls it was taken care of. The price of contacts and eye glasses are pretty outrageous which is why I took my prescription elsewhere. Overall ..a good experience. read more

I had a poor experience at a Pearl Vision office and wanted to find a better quality eye doctor. I was directed to Dr. Weber by some friends. My first visit I explained my concerns about "drive through" style eye care and that I wanted to know more about my eyesight. Dr.Weber took the extra time to explain what was happening to me and how to best care for my eyes (it was nothing more than common near sightedness and a mild & managable case of glaucoma). The doctors care and communication made all the difference for me. The icing on the cake is his friendly manner. He and his office personnel take good care of patients. If you're looking for a good eye doctor, I can honestly recommend Dr. Weber. read more

I changed to this eye doctor after i got tired of going to my eye doc of years and always being bombarded non stop and every visit to buy eye glasses from them. I loved Eye Zone the first 2 exams. The doctor got me to stop sleeping in my contacts every night (even though they are night & day contacts) which had caused severe dry eye. My previous doc said he didn't know why i had dry eye and just never addressed it even though i was going through bottles of eye drops. This eye doc was very nice and let me know to just stop sleeping in your contacts 7 days a week. I noticed a vast improvement in less than 6 mths. I now take my contacts out every night. However, January 2018 will now be my last visit to this eye doc which I decided today. I have been trying to order contacts through 1 800 contacts since Sept. 2018. Eye Zone declined to provide my script info stating 'i needed another eye exam'. This is 7 months after my annual eye exam in the same year. My prescription has been the same for years. I then tried to order again in Nov through 1800 contacts because i was out of contacts and i still am not due for an eye exam until Jan 2019. It was declined once again now with a different story stating 'they aren't allowed to give out my script info to 1 800 contacts'. I tried to order again and they now are saying 'my prescription has expired'. I asked each rep the reason Eye Zone declined when they attempted to get my prescription. So now we have 3 diff stories. 1 800 contacts told me this happens when they want you to order through your eye doc and/or want money for the exam. There has never been anything abnormal with my eye doc visits except i wear contacts. So my prescription is being withheld from me which they can do ONLY if they have concern which they don't. I would have been happy to come again around my normal annual eye exam time especially considering right now is the busiest time of year at work hence why i went in Jan 2018. Still, there is zero reason i need to see the eye doc again after 7 mths when i have healthy eyes. I have never experienced this in the 15+ years i have worn contacts. I'm extremely disappointed and frustrated. Overall, i did love the Dr. Weber and don't know who was making these decisions but handling business this way is a quick way to lose a patient which is why I have now found a new eye doc. read more

I saw Dr. Weber as a new patient last week for my annual eye exam and couldn't be more disappointed. He examined my eyes for over an hour and a half and decided he could not write me a prescription without seeing me again. The conversation was uncomfortable to say the least, he mentioned sex and commented on the color of my eyes more than once and continued rambling on. After enduring such a "thorough" exam, I expected to at least walk out with a new prescription. He didn't ask me to actually read the letters, instead say "yes/no" if I could read it. After I walked out take care of my copay, the receptionist insisted I pay $140. I reminded her that this was my annual exam and asked her to breakdown the cost - $130 for contact lens service... I was not evaluated, fitted or informed on their contact lens process. The receptionist replied with "Oh yeah, contacts require 3 visits, you'll be fitted next time." I refused to pay more than my copay. She agreed and insisted on setting up my next appointment, I went along just trying to get out of the office and cancelled the next business day. Overall, I felt Dr. Weber was highly inappropriate and the office staff rude. *Note my vision is about 20/60; I've only worn glasses for the past year, this should not have been a difficult diagnosis. read more

Dr. Weber is a very nice and thorough eye doctor. He takes the time to make sure his fittings are correct. Unlike some other eye doctors that depend on a technician to do most of the testing, the doctor does it himself. He is also very knowledgeable. The only problem I had was a year ago when his support person was abysmal. When leaving the office all I got was a grocery receipt instead of an itemized invoice. It took several months to get the mess straightened out with misprocessed/unprocessed insurance claims. On the bright side, the sourpuss assistant has been replaced by a very helpful and cheerful replacement. If you are using insurance, it is probably wise to ask for a complete receipt, which they only provide if requested. read more

I never even got to see the optometrist; I couldn't make it past the horrible office staff! Aside from the outrageous charges presented to me before my appointment, these kooks had no idea how to handle my insurance or co-pay. I wasted 30 minutes in the waiting room and got up and left.
